(New Bonesborough, 2 years ago)
Roland looked around the empty streets of New Bonesborough. Since it was the middle of the night he doubted anyone would be walking the streets, but it never hurt to be careful.
After looking around another time he honed up onto the side of a building and climbed up until he got to the rooftop, then began to jump from roof the roof, until he finally reached the Noceda residence. He gently tiptoed to the edge of the roof. The first window he came to wasn't his target's but her mother's.
Roland looked in and saw Luz sleeping while her Swan Palisman, Choo-Choo slept in a fluffy perch that hung from the ceiling. Roland continued to move along the roof unaware that he had woken Choo-Choo. Roland continued to edge along the roof until he finally found Luisa's bedroom.
Luckily it was warm that night so the window was open. He gently crept into the bedroom, trying not to make a sound. As his boots touched the floor there was a loud creak!
Roland tensed and waited for Luisa to wake up but she surprisingly did not instead only turned over in her bed.
Roland breathed a sigh of relief then reached into his pocket and pulled out an old scroll stuck together by a special seal. On the seal was the symbol of the dragon, Fafnir. Before he's been rescued from the Dragon's cave he had found this scroll, he hadn't known it was a cursed scroll at the time but now it would come in handy. He looked at Luisa as she slept, she looked so peaceful, could he do this to his friend, the very girl he'd had a crush on since he was young?
Roland stuffed the scroll back into his pocket. He wouldn't do this, he couldn't, not to her. He looked at Luisa one more time, a cool breeze blew in from the open window and it made Luisa shiver. Roland grabbed the blankets and threw them over Luisa before gently backing away.
He was halfway out the window when he remembered the events of two days ago.
(Flashback, The New Bonesborough Marshlands)
Roland pulled his coat tighter around himself. He didn't think the Marshes would be this cold which is why he only wore a light coat, boy was he regretting that decision. He, Lithie, and Luisa had been trekking through the Marshlands for forty minutes now and had found nothing. Roland took another step and his boot immediately sunk into a puddle of cold mud. He tried to pull it out but the boot was stuck.
"Need help, Roland?" Luisa asked as she turned around and faced her friend.
Roland blushed and tried his best to hide it while getting out his crystal ball and summoning his ghost, Alexandra.
The ghost seemed groggy as she came out of her home.
"It's too early for this. Why did you wake me up?" Alexandra asked.
"My boot is frozen in the mud, could you help me?"
"Oh Roland, ya big baby, I'll help," Luisa said as she and Lithie came over and two pulled Roland's ankle out of the muck.
Roland fell to the ground and looked up at his right foot to see the boot was gone he got up and saw his boot sink deeper and deeper into the muck until it was out of sight.
"My mom is going to kill me."
Luisa ignored what Roland was saying and then got out a small mason jar filled with abomination goo, she took out a big handful and slapped it onto Roland's bootless foot, the goo then hardened into the shape of a boot.
" since this problem has resolved itself, can I go back to sleep?" Alexandra asked.
Roland rolled his eyes, then got back out the orbs so she could go back in.
"The boot should help till we get home. Now I wonder where these other two are?"
"What other two?" Lithia asked as she helped Roland to his feet.
"Oh I invited two friends of mine from school to help us look for the cave," Luisa replied excitedly.
Lithie and Roland looked at each other for a moment then back at Luisa.
"Who are these two exactly?" Roland asked.
Before Luisa could answer, the reeds around them, began to shuffle until two figures around their age walked out. One had a slender figure with light pink skin, three grayish-blue eyes, and mid-back length violet hair tied back in a ponytail. The other was a shorter-than-average, plus-sized, and stocky boy who has light skin, pointed ears, olive green eyes, and short, neat, dark navy-blue hair.
"You two finally made it!" Luisa said happily before embracing the two.
Roland noticed the special look the plus-sized boy was giving Luisa then clenched his fists in anger.
"Care to introduce us, Luisa?" Lithie asked while cleaning her glasses.
"Oh ya. Lithie, Roland, these are my friends, Penelope Wormwood and Erich Blight."
"Wormwood?" Roland asked as he looked Penelope up and down. "Your Boscha's daughter, aren't you ?" Roland asked in a disapproving tone.
Penelope looked abashed after hearing this. Luisa looked displeased and before Roland could say more Lithie pulled his ear to stop him.
"Don't be rude!" Lithie said.
Lithie then looked at Luisa.
"Luisa, while I don't mind having extra help on this search, it would have been nice of you to inform us that you had invited more adventures."
"I know but I mentioned it to Penelope after flyer Derby practice and she told Erich and they both wanted to come along on the hunt," Luisa said.
" What is it we are looking for anyway?" Erich.
"So you leech along without knowing what we're looking for, great, you're gonna be useful."
Lithie jabbed Roland in the ribs then whispered in his ear: Reel it in! I don't like this any more than you do but you're coming off as a real jerk and I know for a fact Luisa Isn't into jerks."
Roland narrowed his eyes at her then began to walk forward then looked back at everyone.
"Well, y'all just gonna stand around or are we gonna find a Dragon?!"
Everyone else began to follow Roland deeper into the marsh…everyone except Erich.
"D-did you say Dragon?!" Erich shouted.
(Hours later, Near the center of the marsh)
"Isa, I think we're lost," Roland said.
"We can't be, we've been following the map's directions exactly."
Roland looked over Luisa's shoulder down at the map, it looked faded and there were several apple-blood stains over large areas of the map. Judging by the stains alone, he figured she'd gotten a map from her godmother, Eda" Clawthorne.
Roland noticed that even though Luisa was all bundled up She was still shivering. He smiled then wrapped his arms around her and pressed his chest against her back to give her warmth. If Roland could see Luisa's face he would have noticed her blushing. Roland began to blush too when Luisa relaxed and rested herself against him, she took his hands in her's and the two old friends stood there for a single blissful moment.
Roland thought this was the perfect time to let Luisa know about his feelings for her. He had kept them a secret for so long, not wanting to ruin their friendship but he couldn't keep his feelings bottled up any longer.
They'd been neighbors since they were diapers, playmates since they could talk even before Roland even like-Liking anyone he knew that Luisa was only person he would ever love. He realized that the day he was being bullied by neighborhood kids, because he was half witch half demon. Luisa even though she was also just as young as he was, came to his defense immediately and kicked each and everyone of this thugs butts! That was when Roland knew that she was the only person for him, her strength and loyalty alone made him
revere her. That is why he made her personal standards so high, studied hard and become an Athlete by joining the Flyer Derby team along with Luisa, if they were to be together one day then there's would be a partnership of equals, he would not be weak, Luisa deserved someone equally as strong as herself and that is who Roland considered himself to be. Perhaps today would be the beginning of that Partnership.
"Luisa, we've been friends for a long time now, and I-"
"Luisa, Roland, come see what we found!" Lithie shouted from beyond the reeds.
"Dang it, Lithie!" Roland thought as Luisa escaped his embrace.
"Hold that thought, Roland cuz I wanna hear what you were gonna say," Luisa said as she ran back into the marsh.
Roland stood there for a moment before looking down at the frozen ground. The moment was gone and he doubted he would ever get another chance like this again. In anger, he kicked a block of ice into a nearby pond and then walked in the direction Luisa had gone…not noticing the enormous yellow eye that had opened up in the reeds.
Roland saw Luisa standing over Penelope and Lithie as they cut what looked like weeds from the ground.
" What are you two doing?" Roland asked.
Lithie looked up happily at Roland.
"It's elf root, Roland!"
"So?"
"Elf root is extremely rare, it's used in all sorts of potions and medicines here and in the Human world, it's a cure-all," Penelope said.
Penelope used her plant magic to grow more of the root so she and Lithie could harvest more.
Roland turned towards Luisa and noticed she was in a deep conversation with Erich. He noticed how she giggled at something The plump boy said.
"C'mon, we're wasting daylight!" Roland said.
Everyone immediately got up and started to follow Roland. He pushed a tree branch out of the way so Luisa and everyone else could get by except of course Erich who Roland let the branch hit!
"Ow!" Erich shouted as he fell onto a frozen puddle.
Erich looked up irately at Roland and Roland looked down at The plus-sized boy smugly.
"Oops, sorry about that. Tubs."
Erich brushed himself off then reached into his pack and pulled out a Lyre.
"What are you gonna do with that, play me a little song, Bard boy?"
"I'm not in the Bard Coven. I'm a member of a glorious group of warrior poets or you may also know us as the skáld coven!"
Erich struck a cord on his Lyre and a purple wave of energy left the enchanted instrument this one towards Roland, before it could hit him an Abomination wall came up and blocked the attack!
Erich tried again but before he could strike a cord a Toad hopped up onto his Lyre and stopped him.
"Both of you stop it unless you want me to wake up every beast in this Marsh and have them kick your asses cuz I will!" Luisa said.
Roland and Erich looked at each other hatefully then away from each other.
Luisa shook her head and then said: Why are Dudes so stupid?" She then gently picked up the toad and laid it back into the Dirt so we can continue its hibernation.
"Ya know it's getting pretty late. Maybe we should head back home and pick this up tomorrow." Penelope said.
Luisa looked at Roland and Erich before turning back to Penelope.
"I guess we have to now thanks to Beavis and Butthead over here."
Everyone began to gather to go back the way they had come except Roland who was grabbed by Luisa and pulled into the reeds. She threw him against a log.
"What's going on with you today?! Earlier you were so sweet and now you're acting like some Male tsundere from an early 2000s Anime!"
Luisa then got in his face.
"What's going on Roland?"
Roland glared at her then got up from the log.
"Why don't you go ask your new boyfriend!"
Luisa looked confused.
"Boyfriend, what are you talking about?"
Roland rolled his eyes.
"I'm not stupid, Luisa. You and Bard Boy have been giving each other goo-goo eyes all afternoon. I can tell what's going on between you two. You know I used to think you and I had a special connection…something really special."
Roland then looked away from Luisa.
"I guess we didn't after all, did we?"
Luisa's eyes went wide as she realized what Roland was talking about, she tried to grab his wrist but missed before he walked out of the clearing.
"Roland, wait. We need to talk about this."
Roland turned to her and glared.
"Why don't you talk to Erich about it."
Now Luisa was getting mad.
"Will you stop acting like a little kid having a tantrum and just talk to me?"
Roland ignored her and was gonna walk back but he hit something warm and scaly. He pulled himself away and looked up to see an enormous Black Dragon standing above him.
Roland stood frozen in fear at the sight of the massive reptile as it brought its head down and made eye contact. The Dragon's eyes were yellow with a black slit like a cat's eyes. It sniffed him for a moment, its hot breath making Roland sweat. Roland looked down and saws the Dragon's serrated teeth pointing out of its mouth, the teeth were covered in blood stains.
"Roland," Luisa said, slowly and calmly. " I want you to begin backing away from the dragon. Very slowly, once you're far enough away, I'll use my Beast-keeping magic to make it go away. "
Roland began to back away very slowly and he was a bit surprised to see that the dragon was not trying to attack him as he did so, but then, as he got closer to Luisa they both heard a rustling coming from the reeds and saw Erich coming out.
"Hey what's taking so lo-"
Erich stopped talking when the Dragon let out a mighty roar then grabbed Roland in its claw and flew up into the air!
(Twenty minutes later, Deep in the Marsh)
Roland opened his eyes and saw that he was in a dark cave, he tried to get up but went back down as he felt a horrible pain coming from his head, he felt a big lump next to one of his horns, the Dragon must have given him that on the way in.
Oh, Titan, The Dragon! Roland thought to himself as he tried to get up again but stopped when he saw two massive yellow eyes coming out of the Darkness. The cave shook as the beast got closer and eventually stepped into the light. Its massive head came down and looked Roland up and down for a moment then it brought out its right massive claw and dropped a small piece of paper onto Roland's knee. He looked down at it to see it was a rolled-up scroll bound together by a seal with the shape of the Dragon's head.
Roland looked up at the Dragon again, it looked down on him like it would an ant in the kitchen.
The Dragon brought down its claw and gently poked the scroll.
Roland looked down at the school again, then back up at the dragon who poked the scroll again except this time more aggressively.
"Re….Rea….Read it!" The Dragon struggled to say in a croaking voice.
"You can talk? I thought Dragon was ju-"
Roland wasn't able to finish the question because the dragon knocked down one of the massive stalactites nearby in anger with its tail.
"Read….the…scroll! Let….me Die."
Roland looked down at the scroll and gently undid the seal and began to read through it but his reading was interrupted when the dragon brought down its fist hard on the cave floor.
"Out loud! The Dragon croaked.
Roland began to shake, he was gonna try to read from the scroll but stopped when he heard a whistle coming from the cave entrance.
The Dragon turned around and saw a Swan fly in followed by a Donkey, A flamingo, A Ram, and a white cat entering the cave.
The swan flew around the Dragon's head a few times before landing in front of Roland.
The Dragon snarled at the swan. The swan who itself did not look phased at all by the angry reptile in front of it, put its neck out and whistled three times.
"Oh man, you are in for it now. Choo-Choo only ever whistles three times in a row when he's mad." Luz said as she, Amity, Willow, Mary, and the Collector walked out of the darkness beside their palisman.
The Dragon snarled again and blew fire at the group! Ghost transformed into her staff form and the collector grabbed his staff and shielded the group with a purple force field!
The other Palisman followed suit and turned into their staff forms once the Dragon stopped breathing fire and tried to bring its claws down on them but the five flew out of the way. Roland then felt a hand on his shoulder and saw Luz standing behind him and signaling him to be quiet. Choo-Choo transformed into his staff form and Luz quickly put Roland on.
"Hold tight Roland," Luz said.
"Wait, Mrs. Noceda, I've never-"
"Ah don't worry, Choo-Choo loves kids just hang on tight."
Luz then looked down at Her Beloved Palisman.
"Take him away, Choo-Choo."
The Swan Palisman flew out of the cave immediately! The Dragon saw this and tried to go after him but Amity and Mary blocked his way with an abomination wall! Willow used her plant magic to make every root, plant, and vine wrap around and imprison the Dragon! She managed to bring it down but the reptile did not stop trying to put up a fight. The collector jumped off the Ghost and placed his two middle fingers on the Dragon's forehead, putting it into unconsciousness.
(Outside the cave)
Choo-Choo dropped Roland a little above the cave's entrance. Roland braced for impact but surprisingly landed in someone's arms.
"Don't worry Princess, I've gotcha."
Roland didn't dare turn his head around, he already knew who it was that caught him.
"Hello, Luisa," Roland said reluctantly.
"Ah C'mon, Roland. Don't I get a kiss of thanks from the damsel in distress, damsel, of course, being you in the situation?"
Roland blushed.
"You can put me down now."
Luisa shrugged then dropped Roland in the mud.
"Whatever you say, princess," Luisa said smugly.
Roland got up and began to rub the mud off his clothes when he noticed Luisa handing him a Dish rag.
"This might help."
Roland smiled before taking the rag and cleaning his face.
"So are we ever gonna finish our little talk from earlier?"
Roland stopped cleaning his face for a moment and noticed the concerned look on his friend's face. He sighed, took Luisa by her hands, and looked her in her beautiful dark magenta eyes. He noticed her blush as he did this, giving him just a little hope that his feelings for her may be mutual.
"Luisa, I-"
"Luisa!"
Roland turned to see Erich running out of the reeds and embracing Luisa, Accidentally pushing, Roland back into the mud!
"Oh Luisa, are you ok?" Erich asked.
Luisa a tad annoyed but trying not to show it gently pushed Erich off.
"I'm fine, Erich. I think you owe Roland an apology." Luisa replied.
Erich looked down and extended a hand to help Roland up but the taller boy looked at him disdainfully and smacked Erich's hand away!
"Beat it!"
Erich was a bit surprised.
"I'm sorry?"
Roland got up and looked at Erich.
"You've done nothing but get in the way all day! Thanks to you I got taken by a freaking Dragon and now I've finally got the perfect chance to tell Luisa how I really feel about her and you just ruined it!"
"Roland!"
Roland turned around and saw Luisa looking at him with a mix of sadness and Anger.
"Roland, how could you be so mean?! I understand how mad you are but that doesn't give you the right to treat people that way!"
All the anger Roland felt left him. Seeing Luisa like this only made him want to comfort her, he tried to but she pushed him away.
"Ya know what Roland, I'm glad I know this side of you now! Because if Erich hadn't come along then I would've said I like you too!"
Luisa then grabbed Erich by the wrist and pulled him away and out of the Marsh.
Roland stood there for a moment. She did like-like him as he did her, and an immense feeling of relief wafted through him at this thought then he remembered her anger with him. He clenched his fists he had been so close and right when he was at the Finish line Erich had come in and taken her out of his grasp.
He felt around his pockets, then remembered the scroll. He was about to read through it again when he heard his Adoptive mother calling out to him.
"Aw sweetheart, are you ok?" Mary asked as she lovingly embraced her son.
"Ya, I'm ok Ma."
"C'mon let's get you home, you've probably been through so much trauma already today.
She then sniffed him.
"Let's get you to a shower, you smell like Dragon."
Roland looked over his side and saw everyone else bringing out the unconscious reptile.
" Ma, what are they gonna do with it?"
Mary shrugged.
" Not sure, as far as we know this is the last of its kind around. They'll probably just put it in a research facility, now come along young man let's get you home."
As they were leaving Roland, took one last look at the dragon, as it was being dragged out, he Couldn't help but remember the words spoken to him earlier.
"Let…me…die."
(End of Flashback)
Roland undid the scroll and began to read the curse.
"I Roland Snowdrake curse you, Luisa Edalyn Nocada to spend the rest of your life as a Dragon-Shifter. May you mind your anger lest the beast within takes over."
The scroll turned a blackish red as he said these words then when he finished the scroll broke apart into smaller and smaller pieces until it finally faded to dust.
He looked down at her and was about to check on her when he heard an Angry whistling sound coming from outside the room and immediately a big Swan Palisman flew in and began hitting and biting at Roland, driving him further and further away from Luisa.
Roland jumped back out the window and into the dark ally nearby. He had done what he had come to do.
(Hexside Magical creature center)
An Elderly Eberwolf watched the Dragon in its cage. The beast had been restless since it had been brought here, continuously, biting, and smashing at the bars of its cage, much like it was doing now.
" Professor Eberwolf, come see!" One of his students shouted.
Eberwolf ran over and watched as the Dragon's body began to fade away bit by bit. He then looked at the Dragon's face and saw surprisingly what looks like a smile.
"The…curse has been…lifted." The Dragon said as the rest of its body faded away leaving nothing but a beautiful female witch dressed in a plain white dress.
Eberwolf immediately jumped into the cage to examine The Witch but he was too late, the witch took one look at him and smiled before her body began to age rapidly until she was nothing but a pile of bones in a dress.
(The Next day, Nocada residents)
Roland walked into the backyard of the Nocada house and saw nearly everyone was there. He looked around and saw Luisa talking to her Aunt Vee and Vee's fiancé, Masha.
Luisa noticed him and to his surprise smiled at him then ran over and embraced him.
"I'm so glad you came," Luisa said.
"Your not mad?"
"No. I mean you were a little hard on Erich but after what you went through I shouldn't have gone crazy on you like I did."
Roland smiled and embraced her back.
"You didn't go crazy. We were all a little nuts that day."
Luisa rested her head against Roland's chest making him blush.
"Roland."
"Ya."
"I want you to know that I still have feelings for you, in fact, would you make me the "
Luisa stopped talking and clutched her chest in pain.
"Luisa! Are you ok?" Roland asked.
"I...I don't know. My chest hurts!"
Penelope and Lithie ran over.
"Is she ok?" Penelope asked as she felt her best friend's forehead.
Roland knew what was happening, he'd read the scroll nearly a hundred times. The curse took effect when the victim itself felt stress and anger, it hadn't said anything about confessing romantic love but it was taking effect nonetheless, now was his time to show himself as her hero. He took out a mason jar filled with amber gold liquid, turns out a temporary cure for the dragon curse, which is juiced Elfroot, and why the dragon hadn't used it on itself was a mystery to him but he didn't care. He opened the jar and gently led it to Luisa's mouth but in her pain, she accidentally knocked it away in the amber liquid was absorbed into the dirt!
"No, No, No!" Roland said before looking back at Luisa as the transformation began. Her eyes turned bright red, her skin transform into ink-black scales, enormous wings spread out of her back and sharp horns grew out of her head she continue to transform and grow bigger and bigger until she finally transformed into an enormous black dragon!
(Hexside Library, 2 years later)
"And that's basically what happened," Roland said while he continued to fidget with his necklace.
This was a lot for Pep to take in, especially on his first ever time talking to kids his age.
"So what happened after that?"
Roland sighed.
" she leveled an entire city block before eventually calming down and transforming back. I came clean about what I did as well as the temporary cure, because I didn't find out till later on the elfroot only reverses the transformation. It doesn't get rid of the curse completely…she still hates me to this day for what I did, not that I blame her."
"So what happened to you after that, granted, I'm just some kid from the colonies, but even I know cursing someone is illegal," Pep said.
"It is, if I had been any older, I would've been given a life sentence but since I was only eleven I was given a slightly less harsh punishment. The head of the witch Council himself cast the harshest punishments he could on me and it makes sense now that I think about it since as well as being head of the witch council, he was also Luisa's grandfather, Darius himself."
"So what was your punishment?"
"He was sentenced to live on the Island of Dathomir, there he would learn the art of being an oracle by the religious sisterhood of oracles who made the island their home," Lithie said as she sat down on the table with them.
" Doesn't sound like much of a punishment."
"Then you've never been to Dathomir! The training I had to go through was intense but I braved through it, heck I was so good the Mother superior herself took me on as her student."
Lithie bent over to whisper to Pep.
" Now he's just bragging."
"Well, at least if stuff doesn't work out here you have a backup plan, you could just go back to Dathomir."
Roland shook his head no.
"No, I can't. The sisterhood that runs the island is a female-only organization, the only reason I was allowed there was because Darius sent me there as a punishment and even after I left they told me I could never come back to keep the island itself pure from the poison of patriarchal society."
"Oh..sorry."
Lithie looked at her scroll phone and noticed the time.
"All right, let's get going. The school is gonna close any minute."
The three got up and left the library unaware of the monster Philip had become was waiting, right outside the door for them.
(Nocada residents)
Luisa and Amity walked up to The house and Noticed a crudely drawn arrow pointing up taped on the front door. The two looked up to see Luz and Choo-Choo sitting on the roof.
Luisa knew she was in for it now, her mom only did weird stuff like this when she was in an off mood. Amity noticed Luisa's worried face and put a comforting hand on her practical daughter.
"It's ok, she's not mad. Now go on up."
Amity's palisman, the Donkey Silenus changed to his staff form, Amity then quickly put Luisa on and the Palisman flew her up and gently dropped her off on the roof next to her mother.
Luz smiled at Silenus.
"Thank you, Silenus, mind sending a message?"
Luz then whispered something too quiet for Luisa to hear into the Palisman's ears before flying down and whispering said words to Amity.
Luz looked down and smiled at Amity as she blushed after hearing the words. Amity blew a kiss and flew away on Silenus.
Luz then turned back to her daughter with a look of concern. Luisa noticed and then looked away from her mother.
"So I guess you heard what almost happened today at school?" Luisa asked.
"I did…Luisa, turn towards me, would you?"
Luisa didn't move. Luz wasn't mad at her daughter, she was worried though what would happen if she didn't make peace with her curse like Eda almost didn't, the more she repressed her memories of what happened at the cookout and every time she almost transforms since will just make the curse itself worse, she had to take that pain away from her sweet little girl.
Luz then took off her Concealment Stone necklace.
"Choo-Choo, would mind giving Luisa and me a moment?"
The swan looked a tad surprised at what she had said then whistled twice.
"Don't worry I'll manage for a few minutes, I'll call you if I need you."
The swan reluctantly flew off the roof into the house through the Attic window.
Luisa could hear her mom giggle to herself.
"Hm, that overgrown goose is always so protective."
Luisa could feel her mother's gaze on her.
"Luisa, you have to turn around now."
"Please don't make me."
" I'm not doing this to punish you, sweetheart, you need to make peace with your curse and unfortunately, this is the first step on that path."
Luisa slowly turned around and saw her mother's white eyes and the massive scar around her eyes and forehead.
Luisa then began to cry heavily seeing what she had done to her mother after her first transformation.
Luz smiled and lovingly hugged her daughter.
"Why aren't you mad at me?" Luisa asked as she hugged her mother.
"Why would I be?"
Luisa looked up at her mother.
"Because I blinded you!"
"No, you didn't. The Dragon did. The more you try to keep it locked up the more angry it'll get and eventually, if you still hadn't made peace with the dragon and you transform completely then there might not be a chance of you ever turning back. That's probably what happened to the last Dragon, I know you don't wanna be like that. Your gonna do great things someday sweetheart, I just know it."
"Mom, what if I don't wanna do great things?"
Luz was a bit surprised to hear this.
"You don't?"
"No Mom, for a long time now I think everyone at school just sees me as Daughter of the great Luz Nocada, I wanna be seen for my accomplishments whether they're great or small. I just wanna be seen as me, Mom. Even though I don't know really what I want to do with my life just yet I want to find it out myself instead of just finding one of your paths. Is that ok?"
Luz put back on her concealment necklace and her white eyes and big Scarr faded away to make her look like her
Usual adult self. The mother and daughter hugged one more time.
"Mom, one last thing. Can you and Mama Amity please stop running around behind my back and act like you're not dating, I know are. Also you two aren't even that great at hiding it."
Luz looked a bit surprised, she thought she did hide so her tracks pretty well, but she had not.
"Mom, I know deep down. You think I'll be mad that you're dating someone other then dad but I'm not. He would want you to be happy…I do too. And Miss Amity would make an awesome step-mom."
Luz smiled, she and her daughter would talk more about this in the morning but for now, they were all just content at looking up at the starry sky, both hoping that their husband and father were looking down on them and feeling joy that his wife and daughter were happy.
(Hexside Academy, present)
Principal Collector lead Roland and Lithie in while Luz used Choo-Choo the get out three new chairs. Roland and Lithie sat down next to Luisa and Erich.
Luz got out of the Collector's chair so her pupil could sit back down and look upon five students and then at the empty chair at the end.
"So we've heard both sides of the story but before I pass punishment there is one more student we need to hear from."
The collector then looked to Amity.
"Amity, would you be so kind?"
Erich glared at his principal, he didn't like seeing his Aunt being ordered around by the very person who took her original Palisman.
Amity without answering grabbed her Palisman, Silenus and two long Abomination tentacles came out of her personal storage cylinder and went out of the window and pulled in Pep and String-Bean, and plopped them on the last chair!
The collector got up off his chair and walked towards Pep. String-bean immediately got in front of Pep in a protective stance and inflated her hoods before hissing at the Collector then spitting venom at him!
The collector dodged the attack and the venom hit the floor before it began melt away until there was nothing but a hole left.
Meanwhile outside another person had been listening, Kikimora. She got out an old Scroll phone and made a call.
"Have you infiltrated the school?"
"Yes, the portal is activated. Why can't I just send them away now?" The voice on the other end said.
" patience! We have to find out how much they know first, then we can send them away.
So stop worrying besides I've got my own man on the inside to make sure everything goes according to plan."
(Inside)
"So tell us, Pep? What's your side of the story?"
Nobody else noticed that, while the collector had one of his hands behind his back, the hand itself had a small pesto, green mark on it.
