Marcus and Delta's squad of Cole, Baird and Anya stood in front of the cliff staring at the massive purple warship coming from the skies behind them along with the Spartans of Noble Six. The purple hull of the Covenant cruiser with lances firing from its front reflected through Marcus's eyes as the war continued to rumble across Reach.
Marcus only glazes at the sight of more Covenant dropships inbound at their location before he let out a snarl while slamming a magazine into his assault rifle.
"Let's move out Delta," Marcus ordered

The Opening
Marcus out of his armour sat down looking over the ocean at the beach of Azura while his squad celebrated the end of the locust war.
Anya came next to Marcus as he unwinds on the beach
"What is next? What is really left ?" asked Marcus "And what happens now? What do we do next"
Anya smiled in return "We will rebuild, we live our lives to the fullest. Then a redo over between your father."
"Marcus." As Adam Fenix. "We did it and now we see a better tomorrow for all of Sera."
"I know Dad." Said Marcus with a bittersweet simile "Good to have you back Dad."
Queen Myrrah stood in front of the three Prophets of the throne room, Myrrah only glaze at them with unease as the Prophet of Truth offers his proposal.
Myrrah narrows her eyes "What guarantee do I have that will honour our pledge?"
"Your loyalty in return depends. As your forces committed to our cause but between us and your claim as Queen despite as the enemy. We will watch closely but your loyalty will be monitored."
"What else has your father been involved in? How many weapons he made?"
Barid, Marcus, Anya and Professor Adam standing in some COG lab as the lights turn on, to reveal a silver metallic arch-like table with a hexagon-like device hovering in the centre.
"This is the object that is part of the device that is used in my machine." addressed Adam. "It helped play a role in generating the special pulse against the lambency. This artifact is beyond our reach."
"How could this alien artifact be under everyone's noses the whole time and god knows what we are dealing with here." Said Anya looking closely at the artifact. "I can't believe that we hearing this. Aliens?"
"I know it sounds ridiculous." Adam turned at the Spherical device. " this is the only logical conclusion we had." Said Adam placing a hand on the device.
"Can you explain the part of how you figured out that this thing helps to kill the parasite killer fuel, kills the glowies and the grubs at the same time," asked Baird. Baird reaches out to place a hand over the mysterious device.
"My dad is many things, not a lair but my dad had no idea of this thing works or what it is," Marcus said to Baird
" Touching that is one of them." scoff Marcus
Suddenly the Sphere's inner lines glow blue as the device revealed a hologram of different planets and a ring with known symbols glowing on the walls of the chamber and the device began to pulsate with a pace of a time bomb.
"What did you just do?" demand Marcus at Baird as he backed away.
"I don't know!" Protest Baird "I just touch it."
"We got to get out of here! Just run ! " cried Adam
A pulse of orange light ignited from the glowing artifact as the energy of mysterious anonymity swept over Marcus and his friends along with the other Gears in the lab and flashed all of a sudden leaving nothing but glowing dust.
Marcus now face flat was on the ground as he rose his head to see himself and the others in a high-tech city with futuristic settings. Marcus sees a trio of pelicans gunships hovering over him before being surrounded by UNSC Military Police officers. With guns drawn at Marcus who stared in confusion.
"Sir, whoever these so-called Gears? They may not look like insurrectionists." Said the ONI officer to the UNSC admiral. "According to three testimonies, based from Corporal Damon Baird along with Sergeant Marcus Fenix, Lieutenant Anya Stroud and another scientist Adam Fenix claimed they were involved in activating an alien artifact.
In another section where the Gears were in holding cells.
In another section, a group of UNSC engineers examining JACK bot hook up to a trio of consoles in a workshop. Then one of the technicians was able to access the footage from JACK on the screen. As it pops up on the screen.
"Whoever the UNSC is? They are the only chance for us to get back home." Said Adam to Marcus along with the rest of his friends present from Hoffman, Cole, Baird, Jace, Dizzy, Carmine, Sam and Anya gathered in the mess hall.
"We don't know what the Covenant is or where we are ?" said Marcus. "We got bigger problems than we stuck here. I don't like it more ."
"We have to stay calm and think things out, I don't like our position any more than we all do but how are we going to get back home? We are not in Kansas anymore," said Anya.
"Getting back home is going to be a hell of a journey." Added Sam." If we could find a way." As the Gears gathered at the windows to see the view of space with the spaceships, Stations and the planet.
A pelican flew over the outskirts of a rural landscape coated with hilltops and mountains. Marcus Fenix along with Anya, Baird and Sam dressed in a combination of UNSC and COG armor and equipment inside the dropship
The Pelican touch down at a small outpost with Marcus and the Gears stepping out, In front of them was a team of Spartans waiting for them. Marcus and the Gears fall in line. Noble Six reveal to be Jun, Carter, Jun, Jorge and Kat all in different sets of Mark V spartan armor and weapons based on their specialization.
"Welcome to Reach Delta," greet Noble One. "Prepare to move out Delta squad. Noble and Delta "
Emile-A239 shows the Gears the armoury in a small building and every row is filled with UNSC weaponry. Marcus picked up an MA37 assault rifle from the rack and pull the pin of his new assault rifle.
Carter reported on the coms to Command "This is Sierra Two-Five-Nine. You've got Spartans and Gears on the ground, sir. Where do you need us?"
"Contact! Sangheili !" As a pair of Sangheili Zealots leap from the ceiling below behind Jorge another civilian is behind. The group of Marcus, Anya, Sam and Baird turned around dawning Assault rifles to DMRs and opened fire! Zealots roared as charged at surprising speed.
"Engaging !" barked Jorge.
"Not human! Open fire on these things!" shouted Sam.
The Noble Team of Kat, Jorge and Carter open fire at will, The three Zealots clashed with the Spartans and Gears with their shields defecting the coming rounds.
"Bad guy coming out!" The Sangheili pinned down Noble Six to the ground before gunfire nearly break through it shield from Carter's burst from his assault rifle, forcing the Sangheili to retreat from the gunfire into the darkness.
One of the Zealots plows past Marcus and Sam knocking them to the ground followed by the second Zealot who swings his sword missing Jun who dodges but both of them grabbed a screaming teenage girl and another Army trooper hostage. Both of the hostages in their grip with the Zealots disappeared into the hallway and Marcus, Baird, Anya and Sam along with Jorge charged into the corridor to pursue them.
"After them!" shouted Marcus.
On board, a covenant warship, Thel'Vadam and Rtas 'Vadum stood on a platform observing the new additional troops of the Locust Horde mingling with the Covenant army. The Locust Drones, Boomers, Theron Guards and Berserkers march into Phantom troop carriers. The Covenant troops glazed at them in unease.
"The locust horde in the Covenant provide to be a formal challenge to our warriors but I personally condemn their barbaric methods in combat." said Rtas "They should have a code of honour but I find the locust horde barbaric."
"I may approve your point but the Covenant allows the Locust to provide themselves in combat, their hatred for the humans is highly beneficial. Savage and brutal they are as long as they serve the covenant. Unhonourable in combat as long as their queen is in command. Answers to the prophets" Said Thel with his hands crossed from the platform he was observing a trio of Sangheilis and Locust drones growling at each other in the staging bay.
Queen Myrrah now dress in a new combat outfit now in a sleek covenant armor coat in crimson red as she turned away from the view of the city of high charity. Now She was seated in her new warship, an assault carrier of the Covenant now coated in crimson red with the symbol of the locust horde.
"It is time my children." Myyrah addresses the masses of the Covenant and Locust in the assembling grounds listening to her speech "Off to war we all shall go, let the Covenant guide us to war. Where the humans will know they reap what they sow. Let the so call UNSC taste our hatred and fury in blood."
"To war!" boomed Myrrah raising both her hands." Let the Covenant witness our wraith in battle."
"For Horde and Queen! To War!" as Locust troops raised their weapons with thundering roars as the Sangheili commanders and the prophets silently approved.
"She is a crafty one." The Prophet said and then looked at a black armoured Sangheili in dark red spec ops armour equipped with a red crimson energy blade and a plasma red carbine. His helmet has a wide red visor
"Keep a close eye on her. Her commitment to the Covenant is still under question." command the Prophet to the Sangheili
"By your will, my liege." Respond to the Sangheili operative slamming a fist to his chest as he active his camo gadget to vanish.
In a conference room where high-ranking UNSC officers and officials gather at the round tables. On the center, Holographic images show new footage of addition fractions added to the Covenant Empire.
"We have new developments has brought to our attention that a new species has been indoctrinated into Covenant. Now the Covenant has a new client race into their ranks." Said an officer.
The screen reveals grey-skinned reptile humanoids in different kinds of armor and heavy-looking assault rifles in red.
"According to the Gears, they fought a war against the non-human species called the locust. An underground race that lives in secret under Sera."
"Sera is an isolated planet in an isolated system beyond far from UNSC jurisdiction. We should in motion send out a few probes drones out for analysis in undiscovered systems beyond Earth." Said a UNSC officer.
Out of Space as the Armada of Covenant Warships came in range of the Planet, A wave of Covenant cruisers engage head-on with the UNSC fleet guarding the Planet. Stational Orbit MAC guns firing salvo after Salvo. Now the space battle was traded with ballistic, missiles and plasma lances and torpedoes.
A destroyed UNSC Frigate is shown in Reach's orbit. Several other UNSC ships fly below. City lights are visible on the surface of the planet, many in circular patterns.
As Jun, Marcus and Anya, Carter, along with Sam crouch down on their stomachs near the edge of the cliff. They observed a massive covenant staging ground in the distance.
"That is an army out there? That is one hell of an army." Said Marcus.
"The Covenant." Whispered Anya in dread.
The binoculars, reveal to be a trio of Brumaks and a pair of Corpsers coming out of the Covenant transport along with a platoon of locusts and Covenant side by side.
A locust General reveals to be a muscled locust in golden and red-coated Theron Guard armour flanked by another Locust Kantus in Black armour coated in spikes.
The Kantus Knight leap upon his mount a Hydra with combined ballistic and energy cannons and rose in mid-air as the Kantus Knight signal the Covenant to move out. The Locust General pointed to the direction where the next battlefield was.
"For Queen, For Horde ! For the Covenant!"
A UNSC force of warthogs and a lance of scorpion tanks charge across the opened valley towards the mountains with a squadron of Pelican gunships and Falcons above. Marcus was on the warthogs along with Anya manning the turret rumbling beside Carter, Kat, Jorge, and Jun along with Noble Six on another warthog.
A squadron of Banshees open fire with plasma cannons upon the attacking UNSC ground forces.
"We knew this day would come, they had found our fortress along the Stars. Even if Reich falls to the Covenant." Warned Dr. Catherine Halsey with Professor Adam Fenix next to her.
"There will be nothing left between them and Earth." Halsey added with an optimistic simile "Even in our darkest hour, hope remands and who would protect it?"
Spirit Dropships open their panel side doors revealing newly revived Locust drones with improved armour and hammerbrust assault rifles leaping from the dropship to the ground.
"Oh look who is back in town! The Grubs" grumbled Baird. "With their new Covenant buddies."
"You know those things?" remarked a UNSC trooper beside Cole. "You fought those grubs?!"
"Noble to Command be advised, new advertises part of the Covenant deployed: The Locust." Reported Jun on the coms.
"Well, we did flush them out of their tunnels." Added Cole. "Baby I hate to say it, they are upgraded."
"New plan, short term let's degrade them out of commission!" yelled Marcus to the entire squad. "Firing a full salvo of assault rifle rounds upon the combined Locust and Covenant battalion. Jorge had his heavy machine gun raining lead as an explosion detonated against his shields.
"The Locust pack a lot of firepowers, heavy tactical units, serve as frontline heavy assault infantry, I can see," observed Kat blasting a locust drone with a precision headshot from her magnum. "Mark that for intel. The Locust you call them. Grubs are a hell of fighters."
Sofia Hendriks in a tank top and cargo pants running through the canyon unarmed. Hearing the sounds of growls behind her. Sofia turned into a corner, making a dash into another cave in a cavern, ran in and Sofia hid behind a stone pillar as she peeks to her left. Pressed her back against the pillar, the redhaired woman breathed heavily with sweat pouring down her head and shoulders, Breathing heavily, Sofia backed away once she heard something ahead, then turned behind around to see a Zealot Sangheili who decloaked right in front of her suddenly grabbed her neck at the same time. Lifting the Onyx Guard in mid-air, the Sangheili growled and draw an energy blade towards a terrified Sofia gasping for breath. But Sofia raise her leg and manage to hit the Sangheili in the jaw. The Sangheili throw Sofia out on the ground. The Sangheili zealot closed in for the kill with the blade drawn. Sofia crawl backwards then she ends up raising her arms as the energy blade drew near.
The Sangheili went limb as a Kukri knife was pulled out of the Sangheili's neck. Out of the Shadows reveal a Spartan coated in Mark V spartan armor and an EVA helmet with a skull in the faceplate. Sofia's attention was right on the mysterious super soldier in armor high tech and that skull mask on its helmet. The Spartan glazed at a jaw-dropping Sofia still on the ground.
"Get back on your feet, you are safe redhead." Said Emile offering Sofia his hand. Sofia nodded with gratitude as she took his hand. Emile pulls her back to her feet.
"Who are you?" Sofia back on her feet asked bushing dust off her pants.
"Noble Team Emile 06" as Emile turn over his spare battle rifle and hand the rifle to Sofia to grab it as she lock and loaded ready to follow Emile's lead.
Alex Brand driving in a warthog with Cole manning the chaingun turret firing left and right at the incoming Banshee fighters firing their plasma cannons. From the driver seat Alex wielding an SMG and spraying a Unggoy operating a Ghost vehicle trying to ram the Warthog she was driving in on her left.
"Light up this you motherfuckers!" hooted Cole firing the chaingun sending a banshee crashing to the ground in balls of flames. "Covie ugly bitches zero! Cole train a hundred points!"
A wraith tank firing a ball of plasma at the speeding warthogs
Cole fired the Chaingun screaming out leads of tracers in the skies. Another warthog containing Jace commandeering the warthog with Marcus providing covering fire operating the chaingun as a third warthog with a rocket launcher turret with Kat and Carter lining up a salvo of rockets at a pair of Wraith tanks on the hilltops.
"The Covenant may be relentless, unlike the Locust horde that your people fought against." Said Dr. Halsey standing in front of the monitors to Adam Fenix. "However, they are different, the Covenant are searching for something."
"What could they be searching for ?" asked Adam.
"You seem to know the Locust Horde better than comparing to the Covenant," replied Dr. Halsey raising an eyebrow. "What else are you not telling me? Of the Locust horde as a race as a whole."
"Covenant may be fanatical religiously and had different methods unlike the Locust, I had so many ideas, I tried to keep the Locust back in the hollows I tried to find a way to solve the lambency but it was too late. They couldn't," said Adam lending against the counter with guilt in his tone.
"What if I show you something that is beyond your capabilities in science, it will be transparent of what my work represents and what my Spartans are fighting for." Said Halsey directing him to another section of the lab.
Myrrah causally walk through the hallway pasting charging Locust drones rushing past her as a fight raged on, UNSC marines scrambling to lose their weapons at the wretches crawling on the walls left and right. Myrrah strolled into the UNSC command post as Theron Elites killed the defenders in the command post.
"Humans. Surrender to the horde." Myrrah said in a mocking tone.
Both the Noble team, Marcus along with Cole watched as the Covenant battle cruiser about accelerated in the skies. A MAC round rained bellow and slammed in and out of the cruiser causing the battle cruiser to explode into flames as it burned.
Marcus, Baird and Cole cheered with fists pumping in the air at the sight of the burning cruiser in flames.
Marcus storm up the stairs and blasted Unggoy, Locust drones, and Kig yars with the Assault rifle as Noble Six, and Carter covered the fire with the DMR and assault rifles sniping down covenant after covenant for Anya and Kat to flank left. Anya side into cover firing upon the enemy with her assault rifle, as Kat with her duel magnums gunning down a pair of elite Jackals tried to suppress the advance. Juns provide covering fire with his SRS99-AM sniper rifle from afar as he snipes a Sangheili officer about to attack Anya.
"Cover me!" shout Marcus. "Going for the battery!"
Marcus rolled out of the way from a fuel rod explosion and dash towards the artillery battery sent up by the Covenant. Anya and Noble Six flank from the left side drawing out Covenant troops and turning their attention on them.
He is inside the chamber of a Cheru-Pattern Tyrant artillery battery. Pulling all the pins, Marcus throw a trio of grenades into the chamber power core and leap out from the open as the plasma flames could consume him from the explosion of the gun battery.
Marcus let out a howl as he sawed an Elite in half by his chainsaw bayonet, Emile became a tornado of death as he swirls around a pair of Elite and Locust drones blasting left and right with his shotgun shot by shot. A Phantom dropship dropped off a pack of Jiralhanae shock troops led by a war chief jiralhanae.
The Brute Chieftain let out a roar readying its gravity hammer to attack, Marcus let out a battle roar with the chainsaw bayonet rumbling as he charged head-on toward the Chieftain charging towards him like a berserker.
Clayton Carmine held the heavy machine gun firing lead without stopping upon the enemy, as Sam fired her longshot into the head of Sangheili specialist after its shields are down during trying to aim a Fuel rod launcher.
The Steel doors burst open revealing a pair of Mgalekgolo of worms and armor plating with plasma launchers powered green. Mgalekgolo let out a roar as it raised its Plasma launcher and let out a stream of green.
"Hunters!" shouted Clayton
Garron Paduk and Clayton rolled separately let out of the way as the green stream of plasma flew overhead.
Clayton charged and tackle Sam down to the ground as green hot plasma from a plasma launcher nearly missed her.
During a siege on a city, Covenant Phantoms touched down dropping new covenant troops. The Locust Horde. Locust drones leap out of the dropship. Horrified UNSC army troopers took notice of the new members of the Covenant. A Corpser burst out upon a UNSC staging grounds and formed an emergence hole allowing a wave of locust troops to come out of the ground. UNSC army troopers and a warthog formed a firing line. A Theron guard aim a torque bow and let a plasma bolt strike the hull of the Warthog. Detonated into a fireball of flames and debris sending UNSC soldiers flying. The Kantus Knight marched through the smoke directing Locust and Covenant forces to advance further into the base.
By nightfall, a trio of UH-144 Falcons flying over a war-torn metropolis with smokes pouring from the flames everywhere. On the falcons, Paduk glazed upon the city from the gun turret position gripping the Machine gun turret. Sofia in another gunning position, look to her left and shoot a glaze at Paduk who looked at her too. Marcus holding onto the rim of the troop bay with a grizzle and a mixed grim stare starting at the high-tech city burning in flames left and right.
A high-rise condo is infested with flames and smoke as the city burns under the Covenant bombardment as the Covenant cruiser continue to glass the city with lance fire.
A Spartan standing in the ruins of a baloney holding a dog tag watching a lance of energy stricken the city district.
A Drone let out a roar raising its hammerburst and fired full auto upon the sight of UNSC marines. An ODST pressed against a crate with a loaded shotgun in his hand as a Theron Guard approached his position.
Sofia Hendriks now in a combination of ODST and Onyx Guard armor trailing behind Damon Baird both armed with lancer assault rifles as they fought the Covenant from the balacony where Marcus and Anya were pinned down by Locust and Covenant troops. Sofia and Baird active the Camo gadgets as they went invisible. Three Elites and a trio of Boomers pinning Marcus and Anya behind cover didn't see a pair of grenades rolled to the ground. High explosives torned apart the enemy.
Baird smirked until a gunshot ran out as Baird turned to see a Jackal sniper fell behind him. Sofia held a smoking magnum as Baird thank her for looking his six.
Jace, Anya, Marcus and Sofia along with an ODST fire team leaping from the platform with jetpacks to reach the other side of the city's high rises. Sofia slipped into cover as she dragged a wounded trooper to another cover safely.
Adam was busy making schematics for new weapons and vehicles in the lab and then monitor on the situation on the ground from the radio. He up to see Dr. Halsay behind him working on her own project.
He looks up from his station from the window to see the massive dull silver interior of the hull of an unknown extra-terrestrial spaceship in the icy caverns from the dig site with UNSC researchers below working in different stations doing their research on a mysterious sliver-coated engine.
In the city district UNSC marines in a firefight against a combined Locust and Covenant forces. Locust drones spraying hammerburst fire upon UNSC positions and exchanging fire with UNSC army troopers and ODSTs. Anya Stroud was on the frontlines, barking commands to UNSC marines holding the line as a Pelican launched a salvo of missiles and chaingun fire overhead through the sounds of plasma and rockets artillery hammering their position.
A siege beast on a platform flung a flaming ball of fire in the air as the flaming ball hit a UNSC pelican.
A pelican firing its nose cannon upon an advancing Deutoros-pattern Scarab crawling through the mountain terrain. The Scarab fire back with a beam of green plasma as the two opponents continued their duel of exchanging lead and green plasma beams.
A pair of Locust Boomer opened fire a salvo of Boomshot rounds and a Boomer grinder fired a Mulcher minigun shredding UNSC marines into ribbons as the Covenant troops advanced upon entrenched UNSC positions, with Grunts, Jackals , Brutes, Locust Drones and Elites storming forward.
"If we have those forward batteries offline, we wouldn't give the evacuation more time. Get those Anti Air batteries operational !" barked Colonel Hoffman yelling. As UNSC personnel and soldiers rushed back and forth past him
Bernadette Mataki with her new customed SRS99-AM sniper in Sniping position took an aim in the scope.
Jorge fired his Heavy machine gun to provide cover as Baird and Jack bot worked to rig the tactical nuke on board the Covenant War ship. Marcus, Cole, Sam and Anya held the line firing upon waves of Elites and locusts charging at their position.
"Hold the line!" shouted Marcus emptying an assault rifle before throwing a frag into a mob of Covenant. Anya next to him reloads a battle rifle before firing a burst into another locust drone in the head spitting blood.
Garron Paduk fighting alongside Kilo squad ducked low and fired his GZ18 Markza sniper rifle taking out a Unggoy manning a plasma cannon on a balcony, as Baird and Cole slide down to the cover as a Covenant defensive emplacement Preksheda-pattern Shade guarding the long bridge shooting energy bolts on their position. Baird and Cole draw their fire as Garron pull out an M41 SPNKr rocket launcher and fire upon the emplacement. Blowing it up.
A large drop pod panel burst open as a Locust Brumak with mini Guns and rocket launchers marched forward roaring in pride. The Brumak unleashed a volley of rockets and minigun fire upon armoured columns of Scorpion Battle tanks and Warthogs in a head-on engagement. Skies filled with tracer fire, Banshees and Locust Reavers launch a strafing attack on the UNSC facility.
UNSC troopers mobilized to defend the base
"Contact! Enemy heavy ahead. Target acquired."
"Move! Move! Give it everything we got!" shouted Marcus with his lancer assault rifle raised. "Push them back people and Delta!"
"Noble team advance and engage!" barked Carter along with Marucs firing first.
A scorpion tank with Dizzy Willian's piloting, its main gun firing a cannon round upon a Burmak hitting it in the chest but the Brumak raised its chain gun's arms and fired a volley upon the scorpion tank.
Marcus and Delta squad along with Noble team continued to sprint through the battlefield of war-torn landscape. They fought with determination and bravely against everything they got. Marcus rumbled up the chainsaw bayonet of his lancer assault rifle at the Locust General. The Locust General on his Hydra raised his fist as a large force of Covenant and Locust behind roared in battle cries as they charge forward.
A pod opens as the massive armored figure took a step forward from the pod revealing another Spartan in Green with the tag 117. Marcus and a technician standing in front of their new commander.
"Sierra one, one, seven. Master Chief reporting for duty." Said the Spartan introducing himself to the Gear. "You call me Master Chief."
"Marcus Fenix, Sergeant of what is left of the COG. I fill the rest in later. Master Chief sir." Addressed Marcus with a salute.
"Find the Halo, win the war."
Marcus, Anya, Cole, Baird and the rest of the Gears gather in front of the sliding window to see a distant structure-like ring hovering in space.
"We are not in Kansas anymore people, We are all in the final frontier." Said Marcus out loud.
