Enchanted by You

Sasuke Uchiha sighed in relief when he got home and took off his heavy work attire as he had been on a long shift at the office. The day was just beginning to be over but he was exhausted.

He could hear the laughter of two girls from the kitchen. He knew Hinata was there. He sighed and walked towards the kitchen. Kei and Hinata were baking some cookies. Sasuke poured himself a glass of water and continued looking at them.

"oh sasuke you are home," Hinata asked him as she put the cookies in the oven

" yes I am sorry, my day was long," he told her as he placed his jacket over the backrest of a chair

"Did you have fun today?" Sasuke asked Kei who was sitting next to Hinata

"It wasn't boring as it was supposed to be," she said

"What do you mean? "Sasuke raised an eyebrow.

"Oh well Mommy and I made cookies," she said happily and went over to grab them. Hinata followed her

"huh, why don't you tell me what kind of cookies they are," sasuke asked curious to know

"they are chocolate chip cookies"

"chocolate chip cookies aren't that good. They should be savoury or sweet.

"You don't have a sweet tooth, Dad," Kei told her father who seemed to criticise the cookie since he didn't like sweets.

"That's not true," he said, but the girl gave him a look telling him

'yes it is'. he sighed and decided to change the topic "How were you two?"

"We had fun!" Hinata smiled happily "Kei wanted to make more cookies"

"oh"

That was all he could say he felt tired. He didn't have the energy to talk with anyone. The workload was killing him. He hated being the head of the office. His father would retire soon and all the responsibilities would go to Itachi but he knew he would also have some responsibility.

"Hyuga, I am tired," he said. Suddenly Hinata looked at him confused and Kei stood there waiting for an explanation. "and I think I am going to take a nap"

"Okay," Hinata said softly.

Sasuke gave them a nod and walked towards his room before taking off his suit and throwing his tie on the bed. He removed his dress shirt after getting out of his pants he laid down on his bed and stared blankly at his ceiling thinking about what to do tomorrow. He felt exhausted and he just needed sleep. He closed his eyes trying to get lost in a dream world.

He could see her eyes so bright and beautiful Kei had eyes just like her he smiled in his sleep he could see Kei's mother in his dream her short brown hair and purple marks under her eyes she looked like sad dream to him he wanted so bad to hold her and comfort her even if only in this one way.

"sasuke? " she whispered.

"I am taking care of Kei like I just promised you" he replied

"Is Kei alright?" she asked and Sasuke nodded "Good".

She was still standing next to him,

"How is Obito? "

she asked and Sasuke frowned. He didn't answer because he didn't understand how Obito could be like that. He had no idea how he managed to lose his family.

He opened his mouth to answer but nothing came out. She was silent too he looked at her and saw tears forming in her eyes she turned around and left without another word

"Everything is alright Kei has a mother-like figure in her life" he shouted before he could see her fading away.

She smiled at him for the last time "I know sasuke she is an angel sent from me to you"

"Thank you for everything, I will take care of Kei" he once again shouted as she just faded into the darkness.

The moon was brighter, the light fell onto his serene sleeping face, and the window was open, letting in the warm breeze of spring inside his room. His body was curled up and he had a slight smile on his face. He slept peacefully unaware of the turmoil he had caused within his life.

"Good night Kei" Hinata kissed the young girl's forehead. It was 9 pm and she wished the young girl goodnight and closed the door.

It was getting late and she thought of going home. She saw the dim light coming out of Sasuke's room thinking that he was still awake. She thought of telling him that she will be leaving and will come tomorrow to check on Kei's health.

"Uchiha San" she knocked on the door no reply came she once again knocked on the door she thought of opening the door since he was not answering and she can't leave without telling him.

"I am coming in"

She whispered as she opened the door she found sasuke sleeping on his bed she smiled at him she always liked seeing his sleeping self he was always tense and tired she wondered what has been wrong with him lately he seemed distant lately she tried talking to him about it but he just shrugged and changed the subject.

She heard his grumbling and thought of going near him. She touched his forehead as it looked red. Her eyes widened. It was warm. His forehead had sweat and his face was going pale. It was obvious that sasuke had a fever. She checked his pulse and it was normal.

She then grabbed a wet towel and covered him with it.

"What are you doing Hinata," sasuke asked groggily he opened his eyes and looked at her blearily

"You have a fever Uchiha San" she exclaimed, he tried to stop her from touching him but she was stubborn and insisted to help him.

"You shouldn't sleep outside on a cold night. What were you thinking? " she lectured as she started putting ointments on his forehead and neck.

"Don't touch me, dammit Hinata. I don't need your help," he muttered as he tried pulling away from her hand.

Hinata didn't let go of him however as the fever was making his hands tremble and his grip on her weakened.

He tried to pull away harder but that was useless he eventually gave up and allowed her to put the medicines on his skin.

After applying for the medicine she sat next to him on the bed she observed his condition he wasn't feverish anymore so maybe he didn't have a fever she thought

"Why did you follow me?" he said after a while of silence Hinata looked at him confused "Why did you wake me up?"

She just looked at him with a stern look on her face.

You didn't answer my question" he once again asked her.

"I was going home so I thought of telling you then I found you sick"

"Oh," he covered his face with the comforter trying to hide his blushes.

"yes I think you are fine now I should go if you need anything just call me I will be there"

She got up from his bed but before she could move away she felt her hand being tugged into something

"Wait," he whispered, he didn't want to make her worry so he held her hand firmly, preventing her from moving.

He watched her and noticed that she looked nervous. He looked closely into her eyes and saw that she was nervous. He noticed her fingers tapping her knee and the blush that crept up her cheeks.

"Please stay here with me… I mean with Kei she may need you"

"Oh," Hinata looked down and bit her bottom lip nervously.

"I guess I can stay"

He couldn't tell if it was a lie or not but he figured it didn't matter as she had already decided to come and stay with him.

"Uchiha San you are high because of medicine I should sleep in Kei's room"

"no sleep here with me" he insisted and she shook her head

"no Uchiha san, it's not that I want to be rude but-"

He interrupted her

"But?" he said

"but I feel so uncomfortable when I'm beside you"

He smiled to himself. It must have been difficult for her not to be able to touch him.

"Please sleep here " he once again requested.

"but you are not in your sense right now I can't stay here

"But I am ok now"

She hesitated and she knew that he was lying. He looked sick, he was pale and his temperature was high.

"Uchiha san I am so worried about you please just rest," Hinata said softly

"Just give me a moment, I am fine," he replied.

"Fine, I will sleep here just for tonight," she said and placed a pillow between them.

"you promise? " he brightened up a little bit. He looked like a little kid.

"yes I promise "

"Will you stay here tonight with me? " he once again asked

"yes I will stay here with y... I mean with Kei and you".

He held the wall between them and fell asleep on it and she could stare at the moon and sighed.

"just for one night hina" she whispered to herself. And laid beside him.
