Ash and Dawn walked through the bustling streets of Hearthome City. It had been a long and tiring day, filled with gym battles, training, and exploring. But even as they walked in silence, both felt the tension between them growing more and more palpable. It had been building up for a while now, this strange energy that neither of them could name. It was as if their hearts were reaching out to each other, pulling them closer together, but they were too afraid to act on it.
As they made their way through the crowded marketplace, they saw a street performer playing a beautiful melody on his violin. The haunting notes filled the air, and Ash and Dawn stopped to listen. As they stood there, lost in the music, they both felt something stir inside them. They looked at each other, and for a moment, they were both caught in each other's gaze. It was a brief moment, but it was enough to make their hearts race.
When the performer finished playing, he looked at them and smiled. "You two look like you're lost in thought," he said. "Is everything okay?"
Ash and Dawn looked at each other, unsure of what to say. They had been traveling together for months now, and they had grown close. They were good friends, but lately, there had been something else there, something they couldn't quite put their finger on.
The performer looked at them again, and this time, his smile was knowing. "Ah, I see. You're both in love, but you're too afraid to admit it."
Ash and Dawn blushed, feeling embarrassed. They had been trying to ignore the feelings they had been having, but it seemed like everyone around them could see what they couldn't.
"Love?" Ash said, trying to deny it.
The performer nodded. "Yes, love. You both have been through so much together. You've laughed, battled, and shared unforgettable moments. You've seen each other at your best and your worst. And yet, you're still afraid to admit how you feel."
Dawn looked at Ash, her heart aching with the words of the street performer. She had known for a while now that there was something different between them, something that went beyond friendship. She had tried to ignore it, tried to push it away, but it was always there, lurking in the back of her mind. She knew that she cared deeply for Ash, but she didn't know how to tell him.
Ash felt the same way. He had always admired Dawn's beauty, her spirit, and her determination. And over the course of their journey, he had grown to care for her deeply. But he had never thought about their relationship in a romantic way before. Now, as he looked at her, he felt something stir inside him - a feeling that he couldn't quite name.
As they walked away from the street performer, Ash and Dawn fell into a comfortable silence. They both knew that something had changed between them, but they didn't know what to do about it. They were afraid to ruin what they had, afraid to take the next step.
That night, as they sat by the fire, Ash and Dawn talked about everything and nothing. They laughed and joked and reminisced about their journey together. But even as they talked, they could feel the tension between them growing more and more intense. Finally, when the night was nearly over, Ash spoke up.
"Dawn, can I ask you something?"
Dawn looked at him, sensing the seriousness in his voice. "Sure, Ash. What is it?"
Ash took a deep breath. "Do you ever feel... confused about us?"
Dawn's heart skipped a beat at his words. She had been thinking about their relationship all day, and she couldn't deny that she felt something more for Ash. "What do you mean, Ash?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I mean... I don't know. Sometimes I feel like there's something between us, something more than just friendship. But then I think maybe I'm just imagining things."
Dawn took a deep breath. "Ash, I feel the same way. I don't know what it is, but... I feel something too."
Ash looked at her, his eyes wide with surprise. "You do?"
Dawn nodded. "Yeah. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I care about you, Ash. A lot."
Ash's heart swelled with emotion. He had always known that Dawn was special to him, but he had never imagined that she felt the same way. "I care about you too, Dawn. More than you know."
They sat there for a moment, lost in their thoughts. The fire crackled and popped, and the night air was filled with the sounds of crickets and rustling leaves. Finally, Ash took Dawn's hand in his, and she looked up at him, her heart racing.
"Dawn, I don't know what this means, but... I don't want to lose you. You're my best friend, and... I think maybe there's something more there. But I don't know how to do this. I don't want to mess things up."
Dawn squeezed his hand, feeling the warmth of his touch. "Ash, I don't want to lose you either. But maybe... maybe we can figure this out together. Maybe we can take it slow, and see where it goes."
Ash smiled at her, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders. "Yeah, okay. Let's do that."
They sat there for a while longer, talking about their feelings and what this meant for their relationship. They didn't have all the answers, but they knew that they wanted to explore this new side of their friendship. As the night wore on, they both felt a sense of peace settle over them, a feeling that everything was going to be okay.
In the days that followed, Ash and Dawn continued on their journey together, but now they were more connected than ever before. They held hands as they walked, and they stole secret glances at each other when they thought the other wasn't looking. As their adventure was about to end and Ash prepared to leave for Kanto, they both felt a sense of sadness and uncertainty.
On the last night, they found themselves standing by the shore, watching the waves crashing against the sand. The moon was full and bright, casting a silvery glow over everything. Ash and Dawn stood there in silence, their eyes fixed on the horizon.
Suddenly, Ash turned to Dawn and took her hand. "Dawn, there's something I have to tell you."
Dawn turned to him, her heart racing. "What is it, Ash?"
"I don't want to leave without telling you how I feel," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Dawn, I really like you."
Dawn's breath caught in her throat. She had been waiting to hear those words for so long, and now that they were finally out in the open, she didn't know what to say. But before she could respond, Ash leaned in and kissed her.
It was a gentle kiss at first, tentative and unsure. But then something shifted, and the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate and intense. As they pulled away, both of them were breathless.
"Dawn, I know we don't have all the answers, but... I want to be with you. I want to try to make this work, even if we're far apart."
Dawn smiled, her blue eyes twinkling like stars in the night. "Ash, I feel the same way. Let's give this a shot."
And as they watched the sun rise over the ocean the next morning, Ash and Dawn knew that their lives would never be the same. But they were ready to face the future together, their hearts entwined like the tangled strings of a violin, their love stronger than ever before.
AN :
Hello! I hope you liked this little one shot! My first attempt to write to write any fluff. Also like I said, this may or may not be included inn my Aura Journeys fic. As you might have seen, there was no mention of pikachu or Riolu. I'll decide the pairing for later.
I do like pearlshipping the most, so I might just write a sequel to this story. Do let me know how this is!
