Chapter 3- Problems and New Faces
" The U.A Sports Festival is Here" Mr Aizawa had the class jumping in surprise. Kusaiki leaned back in her seat with a huff " Come on Saiki, You can't be stumped as the Festival's about to start" Kirishima grabbed Kusaiki by the shoulders, shaking her vigorously. " Come on, we gotta head outside!" Mina spoke from behind her " Do I have to?" " Yes Saiki! Come on" Kusaiki really didn't want to attend.
As they walked to the locker rooms to get dressed Kusaiki took a glance at Aria, The brunette was laughing with Mina as they were about to walk out of the room. ' I should just apologize for my outburst, but it can wait a little longer' Kusaiki finished getting dressed and walked into the hallway with the rest of her classmates. She could hear the crowd in the hallway. Her palms started to sweat as she walked down with her classmates " Don't worry Saiki! I bet you'll win this!" Kirishima spoke up from behind her. " Yeah, yeah don't give your hopes up." As the end of the hallway got closer the more Kusaiki was getting nervous.
Once they stepped out the crowd went wild in screams and cheers. " WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE U.A SPORTS FESTIVAL!!!!!!!!" Present Mic shouted into the microphone. " HERE COMES OUR ASPIRING HEROES OF CLASS 1-A!!!" Kusaiki and the rest of her classmates gathered with the rest of the first year students.
" And now! A speech from our student representative!!" Midnight had appeared on stage, Making mostly everyone gawk and stare at her outfit " Is that even school appropriate?" " She looks hot" Kusaiki heard some of the students around her. " Ugh- weirdos" " Please welcome, Katsuki Bakugou!!!" Kusaiki shook her head, her eyes wide, ' He's the representative!?!?!'
Bakugou walked up to the stage and stood in front of the mic. " All I wanna say is… I'm gonna win" Kusaiki's jaw dropped to the floor " WHAT?!" " YOU CAN'T JUST SAY THAT!!" " WHAT ABOUT US?!" Bakugou raised his hand giving a thumbs down to those shouting at him. " Thank you Bakugou! Now we will start our games, First game will be a race, and different obstacles will be in your way! First forty-five to reach the end move on to the second game!" Midnight cracked her whip on the stage.
Kusaiki and the others had gathered in a small hallway bunched up together because of how many people were inside. She scanned the room to find quick exits.
" ON YOUR MARK"
She forced air to surround her feet.
" GET SET!!!!"
" GOOOOOO!!!!"
Kusaiki shot into the air and flung herself out of the hallway, flying over heads and weaving around people in the air. As she made it out she saw Bakugou and a few of her other classmates running or flying in the air. " Oh! Hey Saiki!" Kusaiki looked below her to see Kirishima running below her " Hey Kiri!" " Mind giving me a lift?" Kusaiki grinned " Not a chance!! Sorry!" She put more force into the air on her feet and shot herself again " LOOKS LIKE OUR TORNADO GIRL IS SOARING THROUGH THE AIR LIKE A JET!" Kusaiki smirked and dropped to the ground, rolling into a sprint . " WHAT'S THIS?! SHE GROUNDED HERSELF?? MAYBE SHE'S SAVING HER ENERGY FOR LATERRR!!! GO LITTLE LISTENER!!!" As Kusaiki continued to run the robots appeared, and one by one she weaved through them. Until it came to the Zero Pointer.
She noticed Todoroki ice it and booked it down the course " Damnit Todoroki!" She was able to slide under the robot before it crashed to the ground. Getting to the Ravine like a few others she used her air to float- jump over the ropes to other pillars. " You're too slow!" Bakugou soared past her in a furry. She almost lost concentration and stumbled with her float jump.
Kusaiki soon made it to the minefield while other students were being blasted away from the mines they stepped on. The girl walked on the air particles forming invisible steps for her to avoid the mines.
She dashed down a tunnel passing Mina and a few others. " AND THERE'S A FIFTH PLACE FOR YA FOLKS!" Kusaiki was panting, she leaned on her knees, catching her breath.
" ALright everyone! Since 45 of you have passed this round we will move onto.!!" Everyone looked up at the screen " The Cavalry Battles!!!"
The rest of the students bussed together. " In this game, there will be 9 teams of 5 people in the formation of a horse. Four as the legs and one as the head!! You will have a cloth with your amount of points and you have to steal other cloth's from other teams! Now! Team up!"
Kusaiki looked around to find some of her classmates to team up with but someone tapped her shoulder. " Hey you" Kusaiki turned around " Yeah?-" Her mind went blank.
" Park-san? You okay?" Kusaiki shook her head, her vision focusing on Uraraka. " Oh- Yeah I'm okay" " You sure? Do you need to go to Recovery Girl?" " Nahh" Kusaiki gave the girl a small smile. Before looking at the scoreboard.
" How'd I get into 4th place?" Uraraka looked over at Kusaiki with a brow raised. " You were on team Shinsou, Did you forget?" Kusaiki furrowed her brows " No- I don't remember teaming with that dude-" " NEXT UPPP!!! ONE ON ONE BATTLES!!!! YEAHHH!!" Present Mic yelled into the microphone once more " You're gonna burst my eardrum" Mr Aizawa said over the speakers.
Midnight jutted her hip to the side " There will be three rounds, brackets will be placed on the screen, so watch for your opponents!" She gave a wide smile and cracked her whip once more. Kusaiki looked up at the brackets to see who she fought first. " Monoma? Who's that?" " Me of course" Kusaiki turned around to see a blonde boy giving a simple smirk her way " Ew- Blondie" " Excuse me!?!" " You heard me." Kusaiki crossed her arms and made her way to the stands with the rest of the students.
" Oh Park-san!" Kusaiki glanced next to her to see Midoriya sitting next to her " Oh, hey Midoriya" " Who's your first fight against?" Kusaiki grumbled " Monoma from Class-B" She rolled her eyes when the blonde appeared on the other side of the divider. " Oh- Well I hope you win, Park-san!" Kusaiki smiled at the greenette " Thank's Midoriya"
" NOW UP KATSUKI BAKUGOU AND OCHAKO URARAKA!!!"
" Kacchan and Uraraka?" "Hm, hope she wins"
After their fight started the crowd started to boo at Bakugou. " Why are they booing?" Kusaiki huffed, slouching in her seat. " He's going too hard on her-" " That poor girl!" Midoriya and Kusaiki heard the crowd yell during the fight " He's not going hard on her though" Kusaiki pointed out, some of her classmates gawked " Park-san! He is, I mean look at her!" Kusaiki pointed to the two on the stage " He's not, Look. He's pushing her to her limits not beating her up. He knows she's not weak" Kusaiki looked back at Kaminari and Kirishima, The boy's mouths formed into an 'o' shape as they sat back in their seats. " Idiots"
After the next few fights, it was time for Kusaiki to go up against Monoma.
She walked onto the arena with a facid face. " OUR WONDERFUL TORNADO GIRL KUSAIKI PARK FROM 1-A!!!"
Monoma walked up with a hand on his hip. " AND NEITO MONOMA FROM 1-B!!!!"
Midnight cracked her whip" Start!" The crowd howled with cheers for both students.
" So how are we going to do this? A quick win or what?" Monoma taunted her.
" Maybe a quick win?" Kusaiki raised her hand up and shot a flurry of bullets at him, knocking him to the edge of the arena. He lost his footing as one pushed his head back, and he stumbled over the line. " KUSAIKI WINS!!"
" Bullseye" She gave him a wave and walked off the stage. She walked back up to the stands to see Iida in the seat she sat in before " Hey Tenya" he looked over at her as she sat down next to him " Your battle was fast" " Mhm, He wasn't much of a hard opponent." She leaned her head back and decided to take a quick nap.
" MIDORIYA'S OUT OF BOUNDS!!!! TODOROKI WINSS!!!" Kusaiki woke up to Present Mic's shouting " Huh?" She looked around to see Iida gone and Sero in his seat " Sero? What happened- Oh you thawed out" " Haha, very funny Park-san, Midoriya and Todoroki went up against each other, you and Iida go up against each other in the next fight, He's already down there waiting." Kusaiki shot up in her seat " HUH?! WHY DIDN'T HE WAKE ME!" She ran to the entrance to the arena once more, she caught her breath before walking out. " NOW WE HAVE TWO CLASS-A STUDENTS!!! TENYA IIDA AND KUSAIKI PARK!!!!!"
When their fight was announced to start Iida zoomed around her quickly she could barely see him, turning to find him " Don't play defense with me Tenya!" " I wish to win this as much as you do Kusaiki!" Iida called out to her as he zoomed past, kicking her in the gut. She coughed from the impact and stumbled to the ground.
Her parents were watching her in the cafe with other customers. " Is that your daughter Maiori?" Maiori looked up at the TV to see Kusaiki get kicked in the gut once more. " She's losing," One of the customers pointed out. " No she isn't, She's stalling!" Another said. Maiori continued to take orders with a smile, she knew her daughter too well to know she wouldn't lose.
Iida continued to repeatedly kick Kusaiki, knocking her in different directions. Until she grabbed his ankle and kept it in the air. " Come con Tenya" Iida looked at her dead in the face, the bruises and cuts being more prominent on her face and body " I know you're not a one trick pony… So give me all you've got." Kusaiki had a smirk casted on her face as she gripped his leg with a vice grip and started to spin, carrying him with her.
" WOAHHH!! LOOK AT THIS! KUSAIKI'S GONNA SWING IIDA OUT OF BOUNDS?????!!! THIS CHICK'S CRAZY STRONG!!" Kusaiki continued to spin then she let go, making the Iida fall on the ground with a rough slide on the concrete. " Don't go soft just cause you think you have too, I'm not fragile, nor am I weak" Kusaiki formed her air bullets and sent them in waves to stall Iida. The air around her feet started to form into smoke clouds " I haven't even gotten started."
" Kusaiki, I will simply forfeit if you just say the words, I don't mean to fight you but if it's simply to win… I'll take any chance." Kusaiki smiled, " That's the spirit." She pushed the smoke cloud around him in order to blind him for only a few seconds. " This smoke screen simply won't work against me, Kusaiki!"
She moved to the edge of the bounds behind him before using her bullets she placed in the smoke to thrust him out of bounds and into the wall. While he was recovering she placed her hands behind her back " I didn't wanna use all my stamina on you, Sorry Tenya" He walked back to the arena and grasped her hand, shaking it. " Good round Kusaiki." She smiled at him as they walked off the stage " Good round Tenya, good round"

Kusaiki was in the waiting room waiting to start her fight with Todoroki as he won against Midoriya.
" Kusaiki" The bluenette looked up to see Aria and Kirishima walk in the room. " Oh- Kiri… Aria, What is it?" Kirishima put an arm around her shoulder " We wanted to wish you good luck against Todoroki! Since you're fighting him next" " Thank's Kiri." Kusaiki glanced at Aria before turning completely to face her. " Aria, listen, I know you're mad at me, and you should. I got mad at you for a stupid reason, and I was in the wrong the whole time. Yeah I've never seen the Sport's fest but I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I'm sorry." Kusaiki watched as Aria gave a small smile " It's alright Kusaiki, I shouldn't have stopped talking to you for so long hah, I hold grudges" Aria rubbed the back of her neck with a small laugh. " Oh yeah-" Kirishima brought a hand to his chin " Why didn't you watch the sport's fest? I mean it's a popular thing, but why didn't you watch it"
Kusaiki huffed. " You want the whole truth?" Aria and Kirishima sat down in front of her. " Yeah, we have an hour and a half until your next fight."
" I guess I could tell you about junior high"

-Three Years Ago-
[ They are speaking in korean ]
" Kusaiki, are your things packed?" " Yes, Momma!" " It's your first day of school in Japan! I packed lunch for you and made sure all your textbooks and notebooks were in there." " Thank you! I'll see you later, Bye!"
Kusaiki had just moved to Japan a few months ago, she just now started school back again.

As she walked to the school she stopped by the front office to ask what class she was in. " E-excuse me? Miss?" The lady looked over at her and gave her a smile " Hey sweetie what can I do for you?" " I need to know what class I'm in?" " Oh you're the new student from Korea right? Park Kusaiki?" Kusaiki nodded and the lady gave her a slip with a room number " You're upstairs in 1-D" Kusaiki smiled " Thank you Ma'am!"
" Open your books to page 34 we have a lot to cover today"
Kusaiki knocked on the door taking a peek inside " Yes?" The teacher opened the door " I-i'm the new student?" the teacher looked at her and shrugged " Go find a seat and get out a book"
As Kusaiki was walking to an empty seat, some of the students were looking at her.
" What's your name, new kid?" The teacher asked her from the front of the class with a clipboard. " uhm- Park, Kusaiki"

Kusaiki was enjoying her lunch on the roof like a few other students were doing before her bento was kicked away from her " 무엇?"( What?) " Look it's the new kid, eating shit" "난 똥 안먹어!" ( I'm not eating shit!)Kusaiki started to clean up the mess they made " I'm sorry? What was that? I couldn't understand you" The kid put his foot on her head pushing it into the food on the ground. " S-stop it!" Kusaiki tried pushing herself off the ground, her tofu and rice had smushed onto her face and stuck to it.
" S-Stop it" The kids were mocking her, and laughing. The kid lifted his foot and started walking off " See you later new kid" Kusaiki sat up her food, ruined , her uniform… ruined..
Her day? Completely ruined..
" Oh Sai, You-" Maiori looked at her daughter as she walked into the cafe. She dropped her bag and took off her shoes before going into the kitchen. She noticed orange stains and a bruise on her face. Her uniform had white tofu on it? " Kusaiki? Honey? Are you okay?" " I'm fine Momma" " Oh- Okay dear"
That next day Kusaiki continued to get bullied from the day she started school.
" What are you dickheads doing?" Kusaiki had her head in a bucket of water before she was pulled out of it. She was coughing on the ground as she heard the yelps of the bullies. " You okay?" Kusaiki wiped off her face and looked up. A boy with pitch black hair and red eyes stared at her with concern. " Oh- I'm alright-" " Don't lie, it's not worth lying if I saw you getting drowned, I know you're not okay" Kusaiki smiled " No really-" " Stop doing that.. Come on let's go to the nurse" he grabbed her arm and helped her back to her feet before walking her to the nurse.
" Oh dear, what happened to you?" The nurse asked Kusaiki as she walked in " Some kids tried drowning her in a bucket of water outside." " Oh my- Those little idiots, picking on such a sweet girl" Kusaiki kept her gaze on the floor. " What's your name, young man?" Kusaiki glanced over at the boy, also curious.
" Mika Yokai"
" Well thank you for bringing her in here, i'll help her, you may go back to class now" Kusaiki just stared at him. " Sure, Later!" He walked out of the room disappearing into the hallway.
Later that day Kusaiki was back on the roof, no one went up there anymore after rumors were spread about her, no one wanted to be around. Kusaiki ate her lunch in silence before the door slammed open. " If you want my food just ask, Kohi" " Who's Khoi? I'm not Khoi" Kusaiki jumped from her spot and spun around. " WHA-?!" Mika stood in front of her with his hands in his pockets " Pft-" He started laughing at her " Y-You should've seen your face" He had his arms wrapped around his stomach, hunched over laughing hysterically " H-hey! Stop laughing at me, you just scared me!" Mika continued to laugh " Ugh-" Kusaiki stood up and gathered her things before walking through the door " Now, don't leave- Hey! Wait up!" " No"
" Don't be like that! I was just messing around "" I've been messed around with enough times already, Mika" " Oh you know my name?" Kusaiki irked " Of course I know your name! You said it before you left the nurses office!" " I did?" " YES!" " Well if you know mine, I wanna know yours!" Kusaiki blanched " What?"
" I wanna know your name"
Kusaiki paused for a moment before turning to face him " Kusaiki"
" Kusaiki… Nice to meet you"
After that day, Kusaiki and Mika hung out in school and out of school. Mika met her parents and they loved him. One summer they took him to Korea for a few weeks. Making Kusaiki happy, they had lunch together on the roof.
" Mika, here." Kusaiki handed him a bento filled to the brim with Bibimbap " What's that?" " Bibimbap" " Korean dish?" " Yep, try it" He took out his chopsticks and got a big bite, he put the food in his mouth and chewed, His eyes widened and he turned to face Kusaiki " This is so good! Spicy but good!" Kusaiki smiled and opened her bento, " Mines spicer" Kusaiki started to eat her food as Mika continued to say how good it was.
Kusaiki was walking to class before she was pulled into the bathroom and flung on the floor. " Look here fuckwad" Kusaiki looked up and her things spread across the bathroom floor. A girl with bright blue hair grabbed Kusaiki's chin bringing her to her face " You're so annoying, why couldn't you just stay where you were? We don't need another fuck up here, You know? That Mika kid is enough already" Kusaiki's eyes widened " What? Nothings wrong with Mika!" She grabbed the girl's hand and pulled it off her uniform. The girl grabbed Kusaiki's hair, keeping her in place. " I don't care! He's a nuisance, He's villainous! And gross! One more freak added to the list gives me more than enough reasons to beat the shit out of you" Kusaiki shook her head " I didn't even do anything to you! I'm sorry, okay! I don't know what I did!" The girl sneered, she turned her head to the other girls behind her and held out her hand.
One girl gave her a pair of scissors. Kusaiki saw the scissors get passed to her and started to squirm " What are you doing? Stop! Put the scissors down!" " I wanna make you look more like a freak, a new haircut would do just the trick" Kusaiki kicked her feet trying to get away from her. Two girls came up behind her and held her in place " No! No no! Stop!" The blue haired girl went behind her and grabbed Kusaiki's hair again. " Stop moving!" " NO, Please just stop!!"
Snip….
A massive chunk of Kusaiki's hair drifted to the floor, along with her tears.
Kusaiki walked home by herself that day. Her hair was choppy and jagged. When she opened the door her father greeted her only to frown " Sai- What happened to your hair?" Kusaiki looked at her dad before throwing herself at him, wrapping her arms around him. Cheong looked at his wife as she walked in the room " Oh dear-" Maiori walked over to her daughter and hugged her " Saiki, Honey" Kusaiki removed her face from her fathers chest a wet spot where her tears fell was on his shirt " They cut my hair Momma.." Maiori gasped and grabbed Kusaiki's head, holding her to her chest. " My poor baby" Cheong was fuming, " I'm going to make a call, Mai?" " I'll take care of it"
Kusaiki and her mother were in the bathroom, Kusaiki was looking in the mirror, the band-aids from past events were splayed across her face, her mother was fixing Kusaiki's hair making it look neater.
" There, all done." Kusaiki turned her head to the side to look at her hair. It was in a short bob that came up to her chin. She wasn't used to seeing her hair so short. " Do you like it?" Kusaiki turned around and hugged her mother " I love it momma"

Back at school, Kusaiki and Mika had sat on the roof for lunch.
" You cut your hair?" Kusaiki swallowed her food" " Somewhat yeah-" " Did Hana cut it?" " Who?" " Hana, Light blue hair? Green eyes?" " Oh- Yeah, I guess so" " Want me to beat her up?" Kusaiki whipped her head to face him " No! It's fine, I don't wanna deal with it anymore" " If you say so Kuku" She flicked his forehead " I told you not to call me that" " It's a cute nickname!" " No it's not"

The next day Kusaiki was getting beat up by Hana after the incident. She came home with cuts and bruises, worrying her parents.
Maiori and Cheong went to the principal one morning to talk about it. " We can't do anything about it, sorry Mr and Mrs Park" Cheong slammed his fist on the desk " What do you mean you can't do anything about it?! My daughter is coming home beaten with cuts and bruises all over her! This is the tenth time I've had to buy a uniform for her because your students keep ruining her things. She had her hair cut off by three of your students!" " And I'm sorry about that, but we can't stop the behavior of those students, they do what they please." Maiori looked at her husband as he stood from his seat. " Then you wouldn't mind us going to the police to charge those students with assault and harassment, Would you?" The principal tapped his desk with his pen. " Fine, those students will get three days of detention" " Suspension" " Detention, Mr Park. That's all I'm offering" Cheong grabbed his wife and walked out of the room " Thank you, Mr Sukihara"
Later that night Kusaiki heard her parents arguing while she was feeding Mango. She went downstairs and into her parents room " Momma? Dad?" Her parents stopped arguing and turned to their daughter " Sai- Can you go back to bed please?" Her father asked. Her mother nodded her head " We love you, I'll see you in the morning honey" Kusaiki shook her head " Why are you arguing, you never argue" Her mother looked at the floor " We'll explain in the morning Sai- Just go to bed, Okay? I love you" Kusaiki closed the door and walked back to her room.

Mika came to school the next day waiting for Kusaiki at the front entrance. " You know that Park girl? Yeah, I heard she's moving schools!" " Really? Glad that freak is leaving, I'm sick of her" Mika turned his head to look at the boys " What'd you say?" The boys turned around with smirks on their faces. " Oh nothing, Just talking about that Park chick, You know? The school freak" Mika rose a brow " how is she a freak? If anything, you're the freaks" " Excuse me? Who do you think you are?" One boy got in Mika's face. " Mika fucking Yokai that's who" " Oh so scary" The boy started laughing in his face " Kohi, Come on let's go" " Nah- I wanna see what the big bad Mika's gonna do"
Some kids had gathered around the two boys chanting ' fight'. " Really? You wanna see?" Kohi grinned and raised his fists " Bet you can't even fight"
" We'll see about that" Mika started walking up to Khoi with a hand in his pocket. As Khoi was swinging, Mika dodged and pulled out a spike from his pocket, stabbing it into Khoi's arm. The boy started to scream. His blood fell on the floor as Mika pulled out the spike " What the fuck!?" Khoi screamed at Mika, tears in his eyes " Don't talk to her"
He stabbed him in the leg
" Don't look at her"
Mika pulled out the spike and stabbed Khoi in the stomach
" Don't even think of her"
" Y-You bastard"
Mika stabbed Khoi one more time.
Right
In
The heart
Khoi fell to his knees and face planted on the ground. Students started screaming and running into the school panicking. The sirens of police cars were heard down the road as Mika started running to the train station. Never even telling Kusaiki goodbye.
Kusaiki had come back to school the next week, she noticed Khoi and Hana were gone. " What happened?" She asked a group of girls standing in the hallway " That Mika freak, killed Khoi and Hana!" " What? No, he wouldn't do that!" The girls started to cry " I saw it with my own eyes! Everyone saw him stab Khoi! Hana went missing two days later! I know it was him!!" Kusaiki stood there shocked. " I-" " Just go away!" Kusaiki backed up and ran into the bathrooms " He wouldn't do that- I know he wouldn't"
Days after that Mika never showed up to school. Kusaiki came to the realization that he left her. He left her and he'd never come back.

-Present-
" That's what happened, I was bullied, and depressed as hell, I never wanted to do anything but cry all day" Kirishima and Aria were shocked. " He killed your bully? Then left? What the fuck!-" " It was his choice, He didn't have to do it, and I blame him to this day for just leaving me like that" Kirishima grabbed Kusaiki's hand " I'm glad you told us Saiki, Feels better right?" " I'm sorry that happened to you Kusaiki" Aria stood up and went to give her a hug. " Thanks you guys"
