A/N: I haven't written fanfiction in such a long time, but I'll do my best to post more often. Thank you for your patience!

Carmilla was sitting at a bar and looking down at the drink in her hand. She was exhausted from doing her mother's bidding by bringing home women for her to murder them. She left before she could hear the screams, but came afterwards where she had to clean up the blood off of the floor in their home. It was a disaster and the bodies were piling up.

Her mother had started this ever since she found Carmilla wandering the street alone at night. The vampire was offered a large sum of money in exchange for bringing a woman home to her. Carmilla didn't necessarily need money, but she needed to blend in with the town, so she agreed.

As time went by, she discovered what happened to the women, but she continued to do the woman's bidding anyway. The human woman wanted Carmilla to refer to her as her mother or that was the cover story. Later on, Carmilla learned that she was the Dean of a university known as Silas University.

Even though Carmilla had been so careful when bringing the women home, it was her mother who had become careless. If they were finally caught, then Carmilla would become the scapegoat.

As Carmilla was about to leave the bar, she saw a young blonde woman sitting at a booth alone with a book in her hand. She had a soda in front of her and was devouring whatever was in the bowl.

"It looks like someone is hungry."

The young blonde in question stopped eating and looked at Carmilla.

"Well, being a college student doesn't exactly make someone rich."

Carmilla looked closer at her clothes and saw in gold letters, "Silas University" written on her sweater. She wore dark skinny jeans and a baseball hat that said, "S.U."

The vampire sat across from the woman without asking and wondered if this woman would become another one of her mother's victims or not. Maybe Carmilla would find out by the end of the night.

"What are you reading?"

"Hey, did I say you could sit down?"

"No, but you didn't say I couldn't."

"Smartass."

Carmilla could only smirk as she was called a smartass. Out of all the insults this stranger could've called her, she decided to stick with smartass.

"The name's Carmilla."

"Laura Eileen Hollis."

"Do you always introduce yourself by your full name?"

"N-No. Just call me Laura."

"Well, Laura, it's nice to meet you. Why is a smart and pretty woman like you sitting alone?"

"To study. I have a big exam coming up."

"Do you need help studying?"

"And what would you know about studying?"

Carmilla laughed when Laura had said this. She couldn't remember the last time that she had genuinely laughed at something. She found herself wanting to know more about the mysterious human named Laura Eileen Hollis from Silas University.

"I actually attend Silas University myself."

"I haven't seen you on campus."

"I attend night classes, usually. Tonight, I'm playing hooky."

"So what class are you skipping?"

"Philosophy. I doubt I'm missing much."

"I'm guessing you prefer day classes?"

"I like having my nights free to study."

"How boring."

"Well, maybe if you didn't skip classes, you'd find studying more interesting."

"Maybe I just need the right tutor."

Carmilla winked at Laura, who blushed and she could hear Laura's heart beat a little faster. The vampire was enjoying her time with the human. It was like playing cat and mouse except this was more fun.

As Carmilla and Laura talked, Carmilla was curious if she was able to glamor Laura or not. Typically, when Carmilla was seducing a woman, she would use glamor on her and take her home with her. It was easy, but so dull at the same time.

Hours had passed and Laura was about to leave, but for some reason, Carmilla wanted her to stay longer.

"Hey, I do actually need a tutor though. Do you think I can call on you?"

"What? We just met."

"And it'll give you time to get to know me better, Cupcake."

"I'm nobody's Cupcake."

Laura slammed a piece of paper down in front of Carmilla when she left. Carmilla had reached for the paper and saw a phone number scribbled on it. She couldn't help, but smirk.
