"Did you pack your bags, guys?" asked Ginny as James and Albus walked into the kitchen of their home in Godric's Hollow.

"We are leaving tomorrow morning, Mom," groaned Albus. "We have time."

Ginny rolled her eyes. "Portkey is at 9 am sharp."

"Can I just Apparate there later?" asked James. "9 is too early for me."

"Portkey is for everyone. You don't have your Apparating permit yet anyway…"

James was dragging his feet out of the room when his mother stopped him. "Wait, you got mail." She pushed a piece of parchment across the table toward her eldest son. "Just arrived this morning." James grabbed it absently, before tearing it up apart when he noticed the Department of Magical Games and Sports wax seal on the back.

"What the –"

"Language, young man!" scolded Ginny.

"I can't believe I didn't get it! There is no one more motivated than me!"

"You got disqualified," laughed Albus.

"For what? I didn't do anything wrong! Unless being awesome is wrong…"

"Maybe too cocky?" replied Albus

"You too, Al!" hissed Ginny.

"Is it because I'm your son, Mom? And because of Dad too? Am I being turned down because they might be call out for favouritism if I get the job?"

Ginny was uneasy. "Maybe, kid. Filius is very cautious these days…"

"Filius is an arse!" shouted James.

"Watch your mouth, son!" said Harry, walking into the kitchen from the fireplace. "What is happening?" he asked to his wife, kissing her on the forehead.

"James didn't get the internship at the Quidditch committee."

"Unbelievable!" said Harry astounded." Did you say your full name? James Sirius Potter? Maybe you should have add Weasley… James Sirius Potter-Weasley. They can't say no to a Potter-Weasley!"

"I think that's the problem, Harry…"

As Ginny was explaining the situation to her husband, James couldn't let it go. It was his dream, for Merlin's sake! He wanted to be a part of the upcoming World Cup, not wait another four years to maybe have a chance to perhaps participate… No! He wanted to be in now and he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Good thing, he already had an idea!

"Mom, you said Filius had a house in Tinworth too, right?"

"You're not bothering the man during his vacations, James! Promise me you won't harass him until he agrees to give you the job!"

"Would it work? I can be pretty annoying when I want to…"

"No kidding?" said Albus sarcastically.

"What do you have in mind?" asked Harry.

"I thought Mom could invite him at the Shell Cottage where I could convince him to give me the job by showing him my motivation and my skills as an event manager."

"Except you're not an event manager," corrected Albus.

"Not yet!" James was bursting with excitement. He was a genius! He cleared his throat and solemnly said: "I am proud to announce you that you are not going to spend some lazy two-weeks, feet in the sand, bored to death watching at the ocean all day long. No, my friends, you are all going to participate into the first Weasleys' Summer Tournament!" His parents watched and listened in awe, whereas his brother feared for his future as James continued his teaser: "There will be blood –" Ginny cleared her throat. "Fine, there will be sweat, there will be tears –" He stopped, waiting for a new comment but she just shrugged so he kept on going: "There will be galleons to win for you and a job to win for me when Filius will see that if I can manage a family like the Weasleys I can plan the next Quidditch World Cup!"

Harry clapped his hands. "That's my boy!"

"Who will provide the galleons?" asked Ginny, sneakily.

"I know a generous person that will be happy to contribute as a way to apologize for ruining his son's chances of a fair job hunt" said Harry.

"Great," said Albus. "Is it a private tournament to which only Weasleys' get seats? Because I know a very good Quidditch player who could really put a good show for your Filius –"

"Fine, Scorpius can come," Agreed James.

"But you have to check if it's okay with your grandma," said Ginny before adding. " and Tatie Fleur. It's her house by the way."

James grinned. Fleur could be such a pain sometimes. Things had to be the way she wanted, and it didn't match well with James, because they were the same but never agreed.

"And call Teddy," added Harry. "I ran into him today. He is back from New York for a couple of weeks and he declined my invite to our family gathering. He might think he is intruding –" Harry added to Ginny. " –but a sport competition might convince him. Everybody will be very happy to see him."

"I guess I'm calling Filius then," said Ginny.

James was beaming. He headed up the stairs, yelling "No need to wake me up tomorrow morning 'cause I ain't gonna sleep tonight! I have a tournament to plan!" He crossed path of a very clueless little girl in the hallway. "Pack my bag, Lily-Lu! Big bro' has work to do!"
