Arthur Weasley was a family man, who would do everything to provide for his children and wife. He was a Ministry worker, an even if the paiment wasn't great it was a job that he liked. Money had been thight for the family, as providing for a family of nine with a single job tend to be, as such went Albus offered to pay some extra money for those who guarded the Prophecy somequickly offered. Arthur and his wife and elder sons had join the Order of the Phoenix, a vigilante group formed to defeat the Dark Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. The guarding of the Prophecy was a fundamental part of their operation at the moment, because if it was heard by the dark wizard it could change the actual situation. At the moment the Deat Eaters were laying down, recruting members, but hadn't made an attack, if Voldemort got the Prophecy, Dumbledore had told them that it could be catastrofic, as it could give the dark side an edge in the war, and any upcoming battle.
Arthur had guarded the Prophecy evry couple of days for weeks now, his sons and daughter would love their Christmas presents, as the extra money would allow the family new gifts, that weren't second handed. Arthur wasn't expecting any trouble, as all the Order members, him included, hadn't had a problem in any of their guards. But there was something in the air that made Arthur be on edge, like a sixth sense telling him that danger was ahead.
The first thing that clued the man that, definitly, there was something wrong, was a hissing sound, like the one made by a snake. The man, removed the invisibility cloak, that he was wearing, prefering the movility over been invisible, as the snake could be able to locate him by smell. He grip his was thight and as soon as he saw a shadow move in the ground he started to cast the strongest, most destructive spells at it. The it was clearly a big snake, the one that, if Dumbledore was right in his description, could be the one of the Dark Lord, Nagini.
The snake, wasn't afected by the spells he was throwing at it, instead it made it more angry. The explosions caused by failed spells or those reflected by the snake would soon drawn soone to check, and Arthur need that he needed to leave quick. He cast the strongest defensive barried that he could, once that could contain not only some spell but phisical objects, and was designed to protect oneself from rock falling over you. He hoped that it could be enough to contain the snake enough to let him get out of the Department of Misteries and apparate to the Headquarters.
But Nagini was a magical snake, reforced in so many rituals, that even the strongest shield would have trouble to deter her. The barrier of Arthur Weasley didn't have a change. The man soon was surrounded by the snake, and beeing attacked by it. Arthur just hoped that his death could be he steping stone in the destruction of Voldemort. He saw the snake eyes to eyes, as it bite him at the neck and arms, his wand laying in the ground away from his reach, even if it hadn't been of kuch use. He could see the red slited eyes looking at him, with more inteligence and evil that he could think a snake had. He knew that he was looking at the Dark Lord in the eyes.
Arthur was started to feel light headed, he knew that the poison was cursing through his veins and would kill him soon. He looked at the snake's eyes one last time, now a vibrant green, as the eyes of the boy that he had started to love like a son, and was believed to be the one that would be able to defeat Voldemort. Arthur prayed for him and his family, and fell to the ground, still and eyes open, not been able to see anymore. Not seen how the snake trashed and finaly crashing into the ground death too. He couldn't heard the steps of someone runing to check the noise coming from the battle, as the man had died.
Harry was having THAT dreams, AGAIN. The misterious corridor with a black door at the end. Harry was used to it, he was used to the door opening, showing him a different horror every time. The chamber with the basilik killing him, not being able to save Ginny, Cedric's death, his parents being murdered by Voldemort... He was used to waking up at the end of it, screaming and waking his roomates, Ron by his side, Neville at the bottom of his bed and Dean and Seamus in their beds worry in their eyes asking if he needed anything.
But tonight was different, the door didn't open to an horror based in his past experience. This time it was something different, something that he hadn't seen before. It was a hall, full of cristal balls, some were light up, some dark. He was at the ground, slythering arround he noticed, like if he was a snake, a big snake if the reflection on the floor was to believe. A man appeared out of nowhere at distance, he could see his red head as he got closer. It was Arthur Weasley, Ron's father, a man that he was starting to see as a father too, someone to give advice and heard his worries.
Then to Harry's horror the snake launched itself against the man, and attack. The man was biten, once, twice... he soon lost the count, and he couldn't do anything. He tried to escape, but it was useless, Harry knew that the snake would kill the man, it was his prey. Harry saw Arthur Weasley look into the eyes of the snake, the man had been a Gryffindor, and would look at the eyes of death.
The snake attacked one last time, the redhead falling into the ground. Somehow, Harry knew that what he was seeing was happening in real live, that it wasn't a dream. Seeing the eyes of the man fading, seeing him fall to the ground, not feeling in the ground the vibration of his heart. He didn't know what it was, someyhing inside of him growing, fueled by the anger he was feeling, the guilt for not being able to stoped and the sorrow of losing his only father figure. It grew and grew, and it came out abruptly.
Harry opened his eyes, he was in his room, as he was used after this dreams, but there was someone else. Someone might have gone to get Professor McGonnagal as the woman was there too. Soon Harry finds himself in the Headmaster's office retelling his dream to McGonnagal and Dumbledore.
Dumbledore thinking that it could be something that Voldemort was behind the attack contacted one of the former headmasters of the school, who had another portrait in the Ministry, hoping that it could help Arthur or worst case scenario cover the reason why the man was there. At the same time, he asked McGonnagal to go and get the Weasleys currently at the school. With the woman gone he asked some questions to clarify the dream, and then fire called Grimhaul place to tell them Molly what had happen and that they would sent the kid in a moment.
An hour later Harry was retelling his dream, while Sirius and Remus were trying to confort the Weasley family, and trying to convince Harry that he couldn't have done more. Noone could sleep that night, hoping to heard any new about what had ocurred.
It was early the next morning when Albus Dumbledore steped out of the green flames of the fireplace, with a grave face. Hopefull faces looked at his, but quickly turned into worry seen the usual jovial man. Some members had join their wait through the night having heard the news, noone said a word, nor made a sound as their leader retold the information that he had.
The Ministry had been warned by Rodwood, worker on the Department of Misteries and Death Eater, that his department had been atacked. The DMLE had quick send aurors to investigate and had found Arthur Weasley death, next to a big snake death too. The Minister had been called and his advisor Lucius Malfoy arrived sortly with him. An investigation was launched, and the portraits there had been frozen so investigation could remain secret. The former headmaster had arrived then, and Albus had tried since them to get any information, but had been unable to. His current bad fame and the Minister advisor had made it imposible, even the fair Amelia Bones hadn't been able to tell anything, as she had been swear into secrecy.
When Lucius was suddenly woke up in the middle of the night by one of his house elves he is not happy. "What had the Minister gotten himself into to call him at such hours?" He thought. But after hearing the brief story that Fudge was telling him, his face changed, "Could it be?" He thought "Could this be his change to take the power, to destroy the Order of the Phoenix and position himself as the leader of the purebloods?"
Lucius quickly changed and steped into the floo, arriving in the office of the Ministry of Magic, there Bones was telling Fudge that aurors were waiting for his instructions. Of course the Minister took his advise, his donations had been long ago made the man dependent of his for everythins. Soon Bones was swear into secrecy and sent so measures could be taken to made sure that nothing was known, to made sure Dumbledore didn't knew anything. He arrived as the last portrait in the Department of Misteries was frozen, and saring a discret nod to his fellow Death Eater, Lucius started to move the threads of the Ministry to take the investigation were he wanted.
Once they had checked the scene, the snake seems to be the one of his Lord, both men returned to Fudge ofice. Soon he had convice the Minister that he was a busy man, and wouldn't he had more time for important things if he left him on charge on the investigation. It wasn't anyting important, it hadn't seem to be anything missing, and the attack had clearly been a failure, he would had answers, Lucius promised the Minister. With his permision, Lucius created a comision of what he told the Ministry were good citizens, worried wizards that didn't work at the ministry, and that it was better that the investigation was directed from people outside the ministry. The Commision of Good Citizens (or CGC) for the investigation of Arthur Weasley's attack of the Department of Mistery was created, its members, fellow Death Eaters: Nott, Parkinson, Crabbe, Goyle, Flint and Greengras.
Lucius and his friends started to investigate the matter, more to look how to incriminate the Order of the Phoenix than to know how a Weasley was dead. The Commision was in charge of the investigation, and their first at was checking the aurors background, so only pureblood that weren't in Dumbledore's group investigate. Those aurors were swear into secrecy, the rest were putting into holding cells, insolated, waiting for interrogation once it was confirmed that Dumbledore was involved.
But the results of the magical analysis of the scene were ever better than involving Dumbledore, the snake had the magical signature of the Boy-Who-Lived. They could condent the boy to the dementor's kiss or the veil, Lucius was sure that once his Lord knew of the boy's future he would be greatly recompensated. Lucius and the CGC son created a story to their best benefit using the information, that Lucius happily told the Minister.
It was clearly an attack coordinated by Dumbledore, as clearly a fifteen year old couldn't plan an incursion in the Department of Misteries, and the boy was clearly a favourite of the old wizard. Harry Potter, a known parseltongue, had controled a snake and with Dumbledore's help had convinced one of his friend's father to let him into the Ministry. What was their objetive was unknown yet, Lucius promised that the CGC would continue to investigate. But once Roodwood had notice them, and they notice Rodwood, knowing that if caught they would be in trouble Potter ordered the snake to kill the man and then destroyed the snake to cover himself. Lucius told Fudge that it was imperative to capture the Boy-Who-Lived before he planed any other thing, like his murder, as the boy was clearly dangerous, a liar and delusional and has clearly alies.
Fudge was a man that could be easily convinced, and before the end of the story he was signing a warrant to incarcelate Harry Potter in Azkaban until trial. Lucius then went to Hogwarts to present the warrant to Dumbledore, and with a smirk informed the man that it Potter wasn't in a ministry cell by that evening he would be destituted by the school board and would join the boy in the cells once he was aprended. Lucius knew that Dumbledore would sacrifice one boy if that meant protecting the rest of the Hogwarts students, even if it was the Boy-Who-Lived, especially if he though that it would be easy to get him out soon. What he didn'y know is that Potter would be sent to Azkaban not the ministry holding cells, and he would made sure to take his time before doing a trial. A month or two in Azkaban, with dementors twenty four hours a day would serve the boy right, after what he had done, especially as Draco had told him how much they afected the boy.
After reading the warrant of arrest and the treats that it carried if he didn't give the Harry, Dumbledore knew that Malfoy had got what he wanted. He liked Harry, it was as a grandchild to him, but he couldn't risk the ministry taking control of Hogwarts, it would be catastrofic. Albus knew that Harry would understand, it was for the grater god, and he was a brave selfless young man that might even ofer himself to Voldemort if that could win the war and protect his friends.
Chistmas holidays would end in a few days, the students retuening to Hogwarts for the classes next week. Albus though that the best thing that he could do was tell the boy in person, give him time to say goodbye to friends and family, before he had to take him to the Ministry. Better to tell him now, that to learn about it latter from other Order members that had heard a rumor, to let him know what to expect and to heard from him that he would made everything he could to take him back home. He had decided that the risk of Voldemort reading his mind wasn't worth Harry's happiness, maybe if he had told the boy in September his fears and had taught him Occlumancy then, now they wouldn't be in this situation.
It was with heavy hearts that the kids said goodbye, Sirius had taken it worst of all. Albus knew that as soon as they left, he would drown his sorrows in Firewhiskey with Remus. Albus took Harry and took them directly into the Ministry, were soon they were surrounded and Harry was taken from him. He could see as they took him, begging him to take him out as soon as possible. What noone of the knew was that Harry wouldn't spend the night in the ministry holding cells, but would be in the most guarded cell in Azkaban.
Amelia knew that there was more to the history of Arthur attacking the Department of Misteries with the colaboration of the Boy-Who-Lived. It might have been that Lucius was behind the investigation, and she didn't trust the man. It maight have been that she had known Arthur for years and knew that he was an honest man, who wouldn't fight in a battle except to protect his family. It might have been her niece letters from Hogwarts telling her about Umbridge, and more important Harry Potter's.
She might had not know the real history, but the one that she had been told wasn't true. It was a same that the only way that she could investigate was to swear into secrecy and even them she wasn't trusted by Lucius and his friends.
What worried her more was the dissapeared of one Nymphadora Tonks, who she was sure was in Dumbledore's group. And that Kingsley was doing paperwork as she was. It was clear, at least to her, that those that worked with Dubledore, like Tonks and Kingsley, or weren't in league with the pureblood agenda, like her, were being pussed to less important task. They were being used in places where they couldn't interfere with the investigation.
Amelia had read the arrest warrant, as every ministry worker had done. And she was sure that it was going to be followed. If Lucius had the power to made the Minister sign that kind of thing, she knew that the man would find a way to send the boy to Azkaban, preferably until they could made a trial to condemn him to the kiss.
Her preditions came truth, when a couple of days later rumors started in the Ministry. Potter had appeared with Dumbledore, and soon had been taken to holding cells. There he had his wand confiscated, and some said broken, and had been cuffed with magic supressor. Lucius Malfoy had appeared with a new decree, a couple of minutes later, as if he had been waiting for the boy to appear, and had ordered the aurors to take him to Azkaban.
She had been pushed to Arthur old position by Fudge, probably at Lucius insistence, and was restricted in what she could do even more. She had hear from Kingsley, that had seen it, that the decree sending Potter to Azkaban had indicated that he would remain there until trial. It was clear why, if the boy was insane he couldn't defence himself and would be more vulnerable to veritaserum. In the meantime the CGC, as they called themself, would had enough time to formulate the answers in a way that made the boy more guilty. And once he was executed, as was clearly the objetive, the rest of Dumbledore's follower will follow, and then the rest that didn't follow Malfoy's agenda too. Amelia Bones knew that he was on borrowed time, because she would never follow Malfoy or the other pureblood supremacist. What Amelia was going to do was made sure that her niece, and only family member was out of the country and safe from that people. And if she discretly help others in danger to escape, well she would be honoring her family tradition of helping those that need it.
Easter holidays came and went, and Susan, her friend Hannah and her family had been discretly crossed the border and at Amelia insistence the Abbots didn't tell her where the were going or when they left, and promised to not contact her again.
And then the trial began, Potter had been in Azkaban for almost four months, she wasn't able to be there, but the Ministry rumors reach her that same afternoon. The trial had been in the morning and it had ended as she had expected, the boy was found and had been sentenced to the kiss. A dementor was already on room, so the boy had been kissed as soon as the everedict was said, his body thrown by the veil of death after it.
That same evening she was able to see the trial, as pensives with memories of the trial could be seen by every ministry worker. It was bad, the boy was clearly afected by his time in Azkaban. The boy hadn't fully be him, his eyes changing color didn't seem to be anything good, sometimes his normal green but other his eyes resembled what she had been told were the eyes of Lord Voldemort.
- Inside the pensive, the trial memory -
Veritaserum had been administrated without consent, and the boy, under age, hadn't had an advisor or representant. Amelia knew that the best way to manipulate questioning under veritaserum was when you only allowed yes or now answers.
After the tipical comprobation questions, the real questioning started:
- Were you, Harry Potter, in the Department of Misteries the night of the attack? Yes (Amelia noticed how his eyes were red, changing from the green moments ago)
- Did you stop the attack on the Ministry worker Arthur Weasly? No (Amelia saw his eyes returned to green and the boy fighting to say more, but was unable)
- Did you attack Arthur Weasley, with the intention of killing him? Yes (Answered as his eyes were red again)
- Did you try to find help during the attack? Or call someone? No (Green eyes looking at the jury, trying to tell them more, while his eyes started to spot red dots against the green)
- Do you know the snake? Yes
- Had you seen it before? Yes
- Do you know who is his propietary? Yes (Amelia saw how his eys turned progresive more red, each passing question)
- Did you were the master of the snake? Yes (He answered with a smirk, red eyes looking at the jury, it was clear to Amelia that Voldemort had taken control of the boy, somehow, taken advantage of his weakened mind after the exposure of the Dementors.
After it, there wasn't much to do. The signed confesions of the other Griffindors that Harry had been with them at the time of the attack, hadn't been taken into acount, as non of the were of worthy blood (just muggleborn, a half blood and two purebloods of light families). That he had been taken to Dumbledore after waking from a nightmare had just paint him more guilty, as Dumbledore was being investigated too.
And then there were the Slytherin tells about Potter, they didn't paint a good imagine, tales of a boy who liked to bully, arrogant and cruel. Not even one had been signed by blood the letters, as a proof of truth, which taken into account that they were the children of the members of the CGC, probably meant that they were false, as they didn't look at all as what Susan had told her about the boy.
- End of the memory -
Amelia exited the pensive before the veredict was given, she couldn't see a boy, that was her niece age, being given the kiss. Such a horrible end to a young boy, she prayed for him, for Arthur and for everyone that would follow them. Might Hades let their souls find peace in Elysium.
Amelia turned arround, facing a smiling Pius Thicknesse. The man was now her superior, and was there because he was a pureblood supremacist. She had barely took with the man since her forced change of position, as such it was clear that him being there couldn't bring her anything new.
Thicknesse unrolled an official looking summon. She was being ordered to present herself at the Minister office, inmediatly, if not voluntary by force. Amelia saw it for what it was, if she went to the Ministry office, Lucius, in his new roll of leader of the Arthur Weasley Investigation, would interrogate her with veritaserum as boss she had been his boss. But having seen Potter's trial, and knowing that her answers would be manipulated, Lucius was a master of the art and she had been a Hufflepuff and had ascend by hard work. So Amelia Bones did what she had to, she fight, she fight against Thinknesse and the others that came for her. One, two three.. she was rudless, she knew that this was her final stand, and she would take as much people as posible, so Dumbledore and his Order could had an easier time defeating Voldemort and the corruption of the Ministry. It was a blody battle, that Ministry corridor would stay closed for weeks after the battle repairing the damage, as Amelia Bones took with her more than a dozen Death Eaters and simpatizers working at the Ministry.
Not having heard of the man for some time, and wanting to give the Dark Lord the good news in person, Lucius went to the decrepit Riddle Manor in search of his Lord. What he didn't expect to find was a clearly insane Pettegrew next to the death body of Lord Voldemort.
Lucius having been informed of the existence of horrocruxes in case there was needed again, and he better be quick in resurect his Lord if suck an improbable thing happend, tried the spell that the Dark Lord had thaught him to search for his horrocruxes. So Lucius tried, and tried again, not obtaining any signal of one. Lucius Malfoy been an opportunist, so the chance and took it. The Dark Lord might be death, but he would be follow his lead, mudbloods and traidors would be erradicated, and he would be the leader of the change.
Lucius had always wanted power, he always wanted to be a leader, to made change and be the face of it. He wanted to dominate the world, but for now he would be satisfied to rule magical Britain. Fudge could be clearly convinced and the rest of the Death Eaters would surely follow him, given the right incentives.
And that was what happened. First the rummors about the Dark Lord whereabouts started. Then some other Death Eaters started to go to Riddle Manor looking for their Lord, finding him death. After that, some members of their group started to go to Lucius for advice of what to do, as the had done after Halloween 1981. And finally, after no so long, Lucius using his already importan position of head of the CGC, took the lead of their group. The era of pureblood supremacy was about to start.
Months passed, summer came and Lucius took the his next objetive Hogwarts. Umbridge had started to get rid of some teachers, but there were still Dumbledore and McGonnagal teaching, and the halfbreeds Hagrid and Fitwick, and Draco would be happy if he eliminate Binns. So Lucius meet with Umbridge and Fudge that July, the objetive cleaning Hogwarts of undesirable and had the curses that the wanted with the teachers that were best (meaning purebloods supremacist). A new decrete was created, all Hogwarts teachers would had to pass the Ministry new criteria. And with that Hogwarts was theirs, as no people of interest went to the examing body.
Little by little, Lucius started to get more and more power, the Ministry needed his ruling, as he had nothing to do with Weasley and they hadn't interrogate all the Ministry workers yet. And Umbridge had great ideas but hated paperwork and wjo was better than him to say who should do it, and add something that he wanted in the matter. Fudge, soon, found himself just being someone used to sign official documents, he had even signed a document stating that he, Lucius Malfoy, was to be named Minister in case of his death. Nothing that Lucius couldn't arrange.
And the Purgue started, first it was the workers in the lowest position and apprendices. They were misguided to come to inspections, thinking that it was about their working performance and maybe an ascension. Once they comed the interrogation started, Veritaserum used to obtain the truth. Order members and simpaticers, thinking that they could be safe by their blood status, soon were sent on a one way trip down the Veil of Death. And more and more people were caught everyday, some people rating others, and those others caught getting them more names to catch and send through the veil.
Lucius was sure that some had scaped, like that mudblood niece of his wife. Some of the pureblood woman had been kept in Azkaban, as to made sure to had a way to maintain their lowing numbers, under heavy wards and controling spells.
By September 1st most of the mudblood had been caught and sent through the veil, their families killed in front of them first. His son fisrt raid had ended with the burning to the ground of a small milk bussiness, he had being so proud of his son, Fiendfire controled to kill the Creeves. Mudblood Thomas and Finnegan had tried to scape with their families in a muggle boat, but had being caught. Nott Jr and Sr had made sure the boat sunk killing all the passengers. For the first time in centuries Hogwarts was an oasis of purebloods.
And traidors like Longbotton and some Weasleys had fallen too, just young Percival, who had seen that his former family ways were wrong had survived. The Longbotton had went to visit his parents one last time before leaving the country, he had being acompanied by her grandmother and some of Dumbledore group, but they were waiting. The Lestranges had made an apearence and had made Neville join his parents the rest hadn't survived.
Somehow Mudblood Granger had escaped her fate, but not matter were she was hidden he will caught her and kill her. And he was sure that the former Hogwarts professors had made their way to France, with part of their students, those of traidors and mudbloods. But they could wait, first Britain will fall, then the rest of Europe and finally he would be the ruller of the world.
Tonks wasn't stupid, don't let her cheerfull spirit and colorfull hair tell you the contrary. It was clear that Arthur's attack at the Ministry couldn't bring anything good for the Order, specialy if Lucius Malfoy was involved. So when a the morning after the attack rummors were flying arround in the Aurors office about vows of silence to the ma and an investigation about why was Arthur Weasley doing in the Deaprtment of Misteries, Tonks left. She had just went that morning so she and Kindsley could gatther some information, but if vows were involved to be part, she wasn't going to try it. She was a halfblood, daughter of a muggleborn and a blood traidor, and being Lucius Malfoy niece wasn't going to help in the situation.
Tonks took the little posesions that she had in her desk, packed it quicklu and signaling Kingsley she left. First she went to her parents house to warn them of the situation, as it was likely that they would need to escape if things escalated. It was early enough that neither had left yet, and the rest of breakfast at the table were ignored as the family planed. She and her father would stay hidden, while Andromeda, being a pureblod, and lest likely to be in danger at the begining would pass the message that danger was ahead at her job.
As such, father and daughter packed the house and took everything to Grimhauld Place were they would stay for the mean time. While Andromeda would join them after work, and would just leave the house to do so. Sirius was looking forward to spending more time with her favourite cousin.
But time passed, and things didn't improve. The rummors that some other Order memebers were bringing were worriedsome. Some had seen there position changed to one with less responsabilities or where information was more difficult to gather. It was soon decided, after hearing the result of Harry's trial that they would leave the country, as there wasn't much there to be. It was clear that a purging was about to start, and it was better to leave while they had the change. Some polijuice, muggle passaport stealing and a plane ticket was what it took to leave Britain behind.
Some Order members decided to stay and fight, some more realistic or pesimistic members decided to flee. But Tonks had made friends with the kids pass summer, and she knew that Harry would like his friends safe and sound away from the country. She had tried to convince the Weasleys to leave, but they were a suborn group and were going to stay and fight. Tonks though that they were going to die, or worst, she might not know personaly Malfoy or his ilk, but it was well know that he had Fudge in his pocket and with the Ministry under control it was just a matter of time since he had the country under control. She had more luck talking with the Grangers, the parents were obviously horrorized about what had happened to Harry, and the posibility of the same happening to their only daughter was terrifying. It didn't took much to convince the couple that a travel abroad without return was needed. And wasn't magic fantastic to empty a house in a couple of hours. With the parents safetly, it was time to take Hermione out of school. Luckily a Hogsmade weekend was arround. She had a clear plan, aparate disguised, track Hermione and Ron, as she was going to take the boy whenever his kother wanted or not, and leave. It didn't take her long to find Hermione, but there was a problem, Ron wasn't there. He was at the castle, at detention with Umbridge. But she didn't haad much time, so she had to go back without the redhead, Tonks just hoped that Dumbledore would keep the kid safe.
The group landed in Paris, there they changed their appearence again and when to Marsella where they were going to meet Madame Maxime of Beauxbattons. The woman was very helpfull and was able to get them in contact with some former alumni of her academy. Hermione would be able to join Beauxbattons next September and her parents were looking for places to open an small dentistry. An exonered by the french ministry Sirius had brought an small library and Remus was wroking there. Tonks' parents were able to find jobs in the non magical part of the city too and she was going to join the local muggle police corps.
It didn't take long for Hogwarts professors and some muggleborns and halfblood families had taken refugee in France, and had created a comunity in a previously village. Pureblood families considered traidors had soon joined. An small school was created, so English students who didn't know french could continue their schooling, and masteries were ofered to those interested. More and more people fleed the deacing country as Lucius reign of terror avanced.
The future might be uncertain in England, and it was looking darker as days passed and news arrived, but their lives in France were safe for now. The Weasleys, Harry and everyone dead else would be missed but never forgotten.
