Carmilla was waiting outside of her mother's house with Betty. She knew that Laura was in there after hearing her scream. She finally let Betty go and entered the house. Betty, having no memory of what happened, went back to her dorm.
While inside, Carmilla saw that Laura wasn't tied to the chair in the kitchen, but must be somewhere else in the house. She could hear laughter coming from upstairs in her mother's bedroom.
As she ran there, she could see some clothes discarded on the floor and Laura was under the covers. She saw her mother coming out of the bathroom in a towel and assumed the worst.
"Oh Carmilla, I didn't see you there." Her mother said with a smirk on her face.
Laura started to panic and saw that the clothes on the floor weren't hers. She saw the look on Carmilla's face and it broke her.
"Carmilla, wait!"
Laura jumped out of the bed and ran down the stairs following Carmilla outside of the Dean's house.
"How could you do that to me? And with my mother?"
"Nothing happened between us, I swear! One minute, I was in the kitchen tied to a chair and the next, I was in your mother's bed."
Carmilla wasn't sure if she could believe Laura, but she didn't smell any sweat on her or anything else. All she smelled was her mother's perfume.
"She should've never put her hands on you."
The vampire was looking directly at Laura's busted lip and gently touched it.
"Ow, it still hurts!"
Carmilla was walking back towards her motorcycle and took out a handkerchief, which she used to gently wipe the dry blood off of Laura's lip.
"I thought she…"
The vampire couldn't even finish the sentence due to how disgusted she was by her mother, the woman who took her in. She wanted to tear the woman apart limb by limb for even suggesting something happened.
"I wouldn't do that to you, Carmilla. I care too much about you for that to happen."
"You weren't in control, she was. It could've been much worse if I hadn't arrived."
"How would you know?"
"We can't talk here. Come with me."
Carmilla gave Laura a helmet and started to ride her motorcycle into a forest area behind the library. It was quiet enough that Laura could hear Carmilla talk to her. She stopped her motorcycle and waited for Laura to get off first. Afterwards, she got off and took off her own helmet.
"When I came to this town, I had nothing, but the clothes I was wearing. When I met the woman known as my mother, it became very complicated. She wanted me to seduce women, bring them back to her, and have them killed. I was paid very well to be able to do this. In return, besides money, I was given a chance at a new life at Silas University. There, I was to continue seducing women and bringing them back to her."
She turned around to face Laura.
"But when I met you, everything changed. You were meant to be my next target, but I couldn't bring myself to seduce you or bring you to my mother."
"So when you were flirting with me…"
"It was genuine, Laura. I have feelings for you and I can't stop thinking about you."
"You have a strange way of showing it."
"Laura, I'm serious."
"Tell me something."
"Anything."
"What are you?"
"What?"
"You can't be human, that much I've noticed."
Carmilla hesitated before answering Laura, "If I tell you, then you wouldn't want to be with me anymore."
"How would you know?"
"I just know."
"Try me."
"I'm a vampire."
Laura waited to let those words sink in after Carmilla spoke.
"Do you take blood from students?"
"No, nothing like that. I take it from people that mean to do others harm."
"What are you going to do about your mother?"
"I'm going to kill her, simple as that."
"It's not right, Carmilla."
"Even after all she did to you, you still want to find another way?"
"There's always another way. Ending her life won't end your pain."
"I believe it will."
