Laura leaned in and kissed Carmilla's cheek.
"What was that for?"
"For rescuing me, Carmilla. I know it must've been difficult to betray your mother this way."
"You're worth it. I would do it over a thousand times over if I had to. Why aren't you scared of me?"
"Well, I read a lot about mythical creatures and while living on campus, you witness a lot of strange things that can't always be explained. You being a vampire is the least of my worries. In fact, it makes you more attractive."
Carmilla chuckled and held onto Laura's hand as they made their way back to her motorcycle.
"Laura, I haven't felt this at peace in a very long time."
Laura brought Carmilla's hand up to her lips and kissed it. Carmilla wasn't used to being shown this much affection in a long time.
She hadn't felt this intimate feeling in such a long time.
When she was with the other women, she felt absolutely nothing for them. Now that she has Laura's affections, she never wanted to lose them.
"I haven't taken you out on a proper date."
"As lovely as the coffee was, it wasn't the most romantic."
"Then what do you want to happen?"
"I want to have a date under the stars with you and see where it goes from there."
The Dean was outraged that Laura had escaped so easily with Carmilla, but that painful look on Carmilla's face was enough to make what occurred slightly better.
She got dressed and made her way back to campus. She was finally in her office sitting there and contemplating what to do with Carmilla's love interest.
She knew Carmilla would be difficult to kill, especially with her being a vampire, but a human like Laura would be easy prey.
She made a phone call and the shapeshifter came into the office.
"We're back to square one I see."
"No, I'm going to use you as bait to help me lure Laura back to me."
"Why is Laura so important?"
"She's Carmilla's new conquest. You know how much I hate when Carmilla tries to play hero. She believes she's falling for this human, but it's just a fling."
"It's possible that it's something serious."
"And what would you know about love?"
"More than you, it seems."
"Just do what needs to be done."
Carmilla and Laura were on the rooftop of the library sitting on a blanket that Carmilla took from her house. They were drinking sparkling cider together.
Laura clinked her glass against Carmilla's and smiled at her.
"Now this is what I call a date."
She leaned in close to kiss Carmilla, who kissed her back. It was a gentle and soft kiss. Carmilla wanted more, but she held herself back. She liked the way that Laura's lips tasted.
"Laura, if you keep kissing me like that, then I don't know if I can control myself."
"I know you will be able to, but I agree, kissing you is addictive."
Laura pulled Carmilla as close to her as possible as they continued to kiss under the moonlight.
