Day 4 - Fractals
Words: 100 (drabble challenge for myself)
Sam watched in horror as the creature emerged from the swirling vortex of the newly-opened portal. It stumbled gracelessly to the floor, a white glove clutching at a black-clad arm.
A beautiful array of sickly green wound up the arm and across its upper body. One main branch, spiraling outward from its palm, fractured off into smaller branches, and those branches fractured into even smaller branches, creating a hauntingly gorgeous lightning that stretched down its side and across its collarbone and up the side of its jaw.
Then, suddenly, the creature was gone and Danny remained.
The lightning remained too.
fractal (n.): an irregular geometric structure that cannot be described by classical geometry because magnification of the structure reveals repeated patterns of similarly irregular, but progressively smaller, dimensions: fractals are especially apparent in natural forms and phenomena because the geometric properties of the physical world are largely abstract, as with clouds, crystals, tree bark, or the path of lightning.
shhhhh I totally haven't missed day 3 lol
