Gray watched as his mother stood quite suddenly and pointed to the door. The voice was muffled but Gray swore he heard something along the lines of 'Get out!'.

He had arrived at the same time as Tartaros and was glad he hadn't missed anything. He was sitting in the backyard, hiding behind bushes. The living room had see-through glass walls and Gray could see everything that was going on.

The lady with green horn - the one Gray found unsettling - jumped onto her feet, pointing one of her long fingers towards Mika in a threatening way. Gray's mother stood up too - though she was more elegant and dignified in doing so than the green horned lady.

Just when it looked as if it would get dirty, Silver stepped in between them, waving his hands around saying something like 'Peace'. Or so Gray inferred. It was extremely hard to hear things through a glass door.

Then they all sat down. Gray noticed the sinister smirk on Mard Geer's face.

Then, his father said something - it was very quiet and Gray couldn't hear it. The next thing he knew, Silver was thrown back by a force of magic from Kyoka.

Anger bubbled inside Gray. How dare she! Just as he was about to storm into the house, Mika used her magic, creating a sword and slashing Kyoka with it. Kyoka was fast and managed to dodge, but Mika's sword managed to slash her left eye.

'Ouch.'

The man behind Mard, the one with the skull mask, decided to join the fight. He hit Silver and said something along the lines of 'Control your wife!'. Or so Gray thought. Gray was beginning to find sitting outside and not hearing things annoying.

And then, there was a silence.

Followed by a huge crash.

Gray coughed and waved his hand in front of him to clear the dust. Once the dust cleared, he was devastated at the sight of his house.

Or at least what remained of it.

The beautiful house had crumbled to the ground. His room, the kitchen, the study - everything was gone. All that remained was the chimney, which had managed to stay somewhat intact during the attack.

Gray saw his parents stand up and position themselves in fighting stance. Every member of the Tartaros was lying on the ground or on top of each other. One was even buried under the rubble, his friend helping him up.

Through all this, one person was standing.

Mard Geer.

Gray was about to yell at Mard but his father beat him to it.

"YOU!" Silver yelled. "HOW DARE YOU!"

Mard chuckled. "Oh, I dare a lot!"

Mika screamed at headed straight at him, an ice sword high in the air. Mard Geer didn't even spare a glance, with a wave of his hand, she was sent flying.

Gray couldn't keep silent anymore. "MOM!" he yelled, running to her side and helping her up.

"Gray," Mika coughed out. "What on hell are you doing here?"

"I-" Gray stammered, then shook his head. "It doesn't matter, you need bandages." Mika's arm was bleeding pretty badly as she had fell on it.

"I thought you didn't have a son." A sinister voice said, sending shivers along Gray's spine. He turned around.

Mard Geer stood there, holding Silver by the neck as Silver tried to writhe out his grasp, gasping for air.

"DAD!"

"Silver!" Mika stood up abruptly. Gray tried to pull her down, and let him handle the fight. But she wouldn't allow it. Her horns darkened and clouds began to gather around the sky. Soon, it started to hail.

"You might want to let him go," Mika glared at Mard Geer. "Lest I kill you."

"Kill me?" Mard Geer laughed. "Oh, you can't kill me - no one can!"

"Think again." With that, Mika lunged forward, the hail moving and crashing into Mard. She was controlling them. Her bleeding arm was now covered in ice and her normally brown eyes were light blue.

She turned into her demon form.

Mard's eyes widened as Mika suddenly attacked. Mard let go of Silver's neck and dodged, a smile on his lips. It had been ages since he had actually fought with someone strong. The last time was... Oh yes, the last time was when he fought the Celestial King, a strong nymph.

Gray rushed to his father - who was coughing really bad - and watched his mom fight Mard Geer. She was strong - he knew that - but, the question was - was she strong enough?

Turns out, she wasn't.

In a moment of weakness, Mika pried her eyes away from Mard Geer to turn and look at her one and only son. Mard Geer picked that moment to knee her in the gut. When Mika doubled over, Mard Geer grabbed a fistful of her hair and made her face him.

"You thought you could defeat me?" Mard Geer hissed, his face emotionless as always. Behind him, the other members of the Tartaros slowly walked up to him. "Apologize, perhaps then, I'll let you live."

Mika glared at him.

And, that was all it took.

For Mard Geer to drive his clawed hand through her chest, puncturing her heart.

And, Mika breathed her last.

Silver was up tears in his eyes. He glanced at Gray, who was staring at his mother's motionless body. Tears threatened to come out, but Gray shook it away. All his feelings had died. There was no one to hug him anymore, no one to make him feel loved like she did. The world was a cruel place and Gray had realized that.

No kind emotions were left in his heart. Only anger and hate remained. Anger towards the members of Tartaros. And hatred towards himself, for not being able to do anything about this.

And then, something inside Gray snapped. Like a lock, sealing away something.

Before Gray could say anything, the world turned black.
