"Tsunade's long-term boyfriend, Dan Kato, and her little brother, Nawaki Senju, both died on the battlefield, leaving the Slug Princess feeling very depressed. She and Dan had been talking about getting married one day, but that plan was thrown out the window. Tsunade and Nawaki were also the only Senju still alive, but it seems life just doesn't like Tsunade that much because it took her brother away as well, leaving her the only Senju alive today. She was left to her thoughts while walking down the village, lost in her own mind. Before she knew it, she heard villagers whispering, saying that anyone who gets close to her dies, and she heard many more whispers about that as she continued to walk down the village, believing their words to be true.
Jiraiya, better known as the Toad Sage, received word that the Rain Village kids he was training were in trouble and enemy villages were attacking them. This left Jiraiya in a tough spot because he knew the Rain Village weren't allies but they also weren't enemies either. He couldn't let his students die, so he decided to get there as fast as he could. When he arrived, all he saw were dead bodies lying on the ground. He was met with the sight of his three students, Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, dead. Jiraiya started to cry and disappeared, saying he was sorry to the students, even though he knew they couldn't hear him anymore."
Tsunade POV "I was walking down the village, hoping to find a bar where I could drown my sorrows with some sake after the day I had. But for some reason, most of the bars seemed to be closed today, and I didn't know why. So, I decided to go to one of the places where Jiraiya likes to drink sake. When I got there, part of me was disgusted that my own teammate would hang around in a place like this, but at that moment, I didn't care. I just needed my day to be over. After ordering a bottle of the bartender's finest sake, I started drinking and ended up finishing the entire bottle."
Jiraiya POV "I had just arrived back to the Hidden Leaf, and I was a sobbing mess. I wondered if I should go and talk to Minato about what happened, but I decided against it because he doesn't even know much about my Rain students. Besides, thinking about it, Minato is on a mission, so I wouldn't be able to talk to him anyway. Instead, I decided to head to my favorite bar and drink my sorrows away. But when I got there, I saw my teammate, Tsunade, drinking, and I decided to go over and say hi."
Tsunade POV "I was drinking my sorrows away when I heard my teammate calling out to me. I stared at him for a second, then decided to go right back to the sake because I didn't have the energy to talk to this idiot right now. But surprisingly, the sake never made it to my mouth because Jiraiya caught my hand and asked me what was wrong. I began to tell him everything that happened in my day, from Dan's death to my brother's death. It was all just too much for me to handle, and I was surprised when Jiraiya hugged me out of the blue."
Jiraiya POV "I was listening to Tsunade's story about what had happened to her, and I just couldn't help but hug her. I told her that everything was going to be alright, and Tsunade looked back at me gratefully. But I also told her that drinking wasn't going to solve her problems. So, I invited her to come back to the motel that I was currently staying at while in the village."
Tsunade POV "I was touched when Jiraiya asked me to go back to his motel with him. I won't lie, I was also a bit weirded out when he asked me, but this was my teammate I was talking about. I could trust him, hell, I trust him with my life. So, I decided to agree with his request and told him to follow me."
Narrator POV As Tsunade and Jiraiya arrived at the motel, Tsunade couldn't help but feel jealous as she noticed many girls eyeing her teammate Jiraiya. Although Jiraiya used to hit on her, he now only playfully does so, and Tsunade wished he still showed interest in her. However, they soon arrived at their room, and Jiraiya opened the door for her. They sat on the bed, and Jiraiya began to advise Tsunade that drinking her problems away wouldn't solve anything or help her get better. Tsunade was aware that he was right, but she didn't appreciate her teammate telling her what to do. To change the subject, Tsunade asked Jiraiya about his day, and he proceeded to tell her about his three students from the Rain Village who had died. Tsunade hugged him to comfort him, and they both discussed how violent the Ninja World can be. Jiraiya then proceeded to drink an entire bottle of sake, and there was a heavy silence between them until Tsunade asked him for a favor. She asked if they could have sex, causing Jiraiya to have a nosebleed and ask if she was serious. Tsunade confirmed she was, and Jiraiya proceeded to undress and get ready. Tsunade had been planning to ask her deceased partner, Dan, to lose her virginity, but since he was no longer alive, she saw this as the perfect opportunity to distract herself. Jiraiya had been trying to seduce her for a while, so he was the right person to help her with this. After Jiraiya asked if she was ready, they proceeded to have the best night of their lives.
Tsunade POV Two weeks after having sex with my teammate Jiraiya, I began experiencing stomach pains and an insatiable hunger. Concerned, I decided to conduct a routine medical check on myself to ensure that everything was okay. To my surprise, I started noticing many pregnancy symptoms. I decided to take a pregnancy test and discovered that I was pregnant. I was scared and unsure of what to do because I didn't want a child. I was worried about telling Jiraiya because I didn't think he would want to be a father either. Feeling lost, I went to find Jiraiya at the training grounds where he was currently practicing to inform him of what was happening to me.
Jiraiya POV As I was training intensely to clear my mind of my student's death, I sensed a presence and noticed Tsunade walking towards me. I greeted her and asked what was on her mind. She proceeded to tell me that she was pregnant, and I was about to ask her who the father was before realizing that it was me. I knew that Tsunade likely hadn't been with anyone else since our drunken incident. I congratulated her but also told her that I didn't want to be a father and asked her what her plan was.
Tsunade POV I told Jiraiya that I didn't have a plan right now, but I was going to have this child that I already didn't want because I didn't want to get rid of it, but I also didn't want a child. So, I decided that I was going to give the child up for adoption. I was about to leave when Jiraiya called me again.
Jiraiya POV I was surprised when Tsunade said that she was going to give the child up for adoption. At first, I thought she was going to mother the child without my help, but it seemed like that wasn't her plan. I asked her why she didn't want to be a mother, although I had a feeling I already knew the answer.
Tsunade POV I was surprised when Jiraiya asked me that question. I would have thought that the answer was so simple that even he would understand, but I didn't. I proceeded to tell him why I didn't want a child. It was mostly because everyone who gets close to me dies, and that's just a fact that's been around for a very long time. If I'm being honest, I'm surprised even my teammates have stayed alive after all this time. But I didn't want to be a parent and end up with my child being dead just from being close to me. Then I decided to look back at Jiraiya and ask him why he didn't want to be a father.
Jiraiya POV When Tsunade asked me why I didn't want to be a father, if I'm being honest, I wasn't even sure of the answer myself. But I do know that I simply don't have the desire to be a father, nor would I even know how to raise a child. I have already lost three students, and I could probably lose my son as well, and I'm not willing to put myself through that pain of losing my child. I saw Tsunade look back at me and nod, and with a sigh, she told me she was going to head to the Hokage tower.
Hiruzen POV I was in the middle of doing paperwork to figure out who could potentially take over my role as Hokage, and currently my options were limited to my students Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru, or some other very strong individuals in the village like Minato and Fugaku. However, I was interrupted from my thoughts by a knock on my door. I said "come in," and my student Tsunade walked in, looking a bit troubled. I asked her what was wrong.
Tsunade POV I had been considering whether or not to tell my sensei that I was pregnant, but ultimately I felt that he had the right to know. Even though I planned on giving the baby up for adoption, it still felt like something important to share with him. So, I went to his office and bowed before entering. After asking how he was doing and hearing about his search for a new Kage candidate, I mustered up the courage to tell him that I was pregnant with Jiraiya's child.
Hiruzen POV When Tsunade told me she was alright, I didn't believe her because she answered too quickly, as if she was trying to dismiss the topic. I was about to address it, but then she told me she was pregnant with Jiraiya's child. Being shocked was an understatement, but I got over it by congratulating her. I was happy for both of my students becoming parents. Honestly, I personally never saw the two of them together, but things happen. So, I offered to let Tsunade stay at my compound, rather than the lonely Senju compound, so she can get all the help she needs. Thankfully, she accepted.
9 Months Later….
Tsunade POV I was in the process of giving birth to my child, and after a little struggle, he was born. During the past few months, even though Jiraiya and I didn't plan on raising the kid, I felt like we should at least give him a good name. We both decided to name him after Jiraiya's father, who died when he was a kid - Jaikio.
Hiruzen POV Something felt fishy about Jiraiya and Tsunade's behavior. I knew they had just delivered a baby, but they were acting strangely. So I decided to ask them what was the matter, and they told me that they were going to put the baby up for adoption. I was shocked beyond belief. I couldn't believe my own students would do that, so I asked them why they were just giving up the kid for adoption. They told me that they didn't feel like being parents, and that their existence meant death and destruction for those around them. I was disappointed with their decision, and I tried to explain to them that life doesn't work that way. However, they yelled at me and said it was their decision.
I knew they were right, but I offered them a better alternative. I told them that I would take their kid instead, because I knew how adoption or orphan places could be. Even though I had tried with all my might to change the system, it just never worked out. I had recently retired and was able to relax for once. When I turned back to see Jiraiya and Tsunade, they were thinking about it. But not much later, they said yes.
I still couldn't believe that they would just give up their baby like this, but I took the baby and left. Before leaving, I told them that I was very disappointed with them.
Narrator POV "Sometimes when Hiruzen decided to take Jaikio in, he wondered if it was such a good idea because not too much longer after he was born, he had to go back to being the Hokage after Minato and Kushina's death, leaving him to step up and take the mantle of being Hokage back and figuring out what to do with their poor child Naruto. Though a part of Hiruzen wanted to adopt Naruto as well, he already had one kid to deal with at his older age, and being Hokage as well would have been very exhausting for him. But Hiruzen still tried his best with Naruto, as eating dinner together and sometimes trying to find him an apartment. Hiruzen still wanted to do a whole lot more with Naruto, but this was the best he could manage without the council breathing down his neck. Hiruzen was also happy to see the many times Jaikio and Naruto were together; they seemed to have gotten along really well and becoming friends. And without knowing it at the time, Jaikio was the blessing Hiruzen had needed because Jaikio had gotten him out of his wife's death, his student just leaving the village, or his other student performing experiments, or even a son who doesn't even talk to him. Every time Hiruzen laid his eyes on Jaikio, he saw this as a second chance to get things right but also to teach him about how the world really operates and how cruel it can be because Hiruzen already made that mistake with his students. He sheltered them so much that just the first sight of the real world made them run away and break down. But Hiruzen planned to do better with Jaikio, and soon eight years passed until one day Hiruzen got a knock on his door and saw Jaikio and Naruto. Hiruzen was wondering what these kids wanted to ask him so early in the morning until they both asked energetically if they could join the academy. Hiruzen was excited and dreaded this day, and he told them yes, they could join the academy. Hiruzen smirked at seeing the kids jump up and down, but he dreaded what he was about to show them. A part of Hiruzen didn't want to show the kids this young about the real world, but he knew that they needed to know how the real world works, even if they won't like it."
