Chapter 4: The Four C's; Communication, Catching, Cuddles and Commencement!
Keifer had a smile on his face as he walked down the familiar dirt path towards the forest. You could argue that he should be spending his last full day at home, close to his family…
But he knew all too well that that's what tonight was for, and he didn't mind it one bit.
It hadn't taken him too long to get home from Alola; given how early in the morning his flight had been, he just slept through it and by the time he reached his mom's house, it was a little past 8.
When Keifer had finished packing his bag for his journey, he figured his best bet at preparing Buttercup, Rina and himself for the road ahead was to train in the woods. Not as far in as the Slumbering Weald, however.
Back when he was younger, his mom had warned him to never go that deep if he found himself in the woods; just past the tree line and the surrounding forest was fine, but high level, dangerous wild Pokemon claimed the Slumbering Weald as their home.
The last time Keifer had gotten even close to the woods was years ago on a dare from Kassi to run into and out of the tree line. He had been afraid to do it at first, but found his courage when a Pidove of all Pokemon casually flew into the trees.
And the prize had been worth it, so he couldn't complain about the dare.
Now standing at the end of the path, with the line of tall trees ahead of him, Keifer felt far more confident.
For starters, almost every Pokemon that wasn't living deeper in the woods – the Slumbering Weald – was more on par with what'd you commonly find on Galar's first few routes in terms of strength, so he knew his girls wouldn't get overwhelmed.
Setting forward, the greenhead felt confident and ready.
Would he say it was dark? Not exactly. The trees blocked out some of the bright early-afternoon sun from above, but not enough to make it hard to see as Keifer walked through the woods.
Rina and Buttercup were by his side as well; he had let them out earlier and both took turns diving into the grass or knocking away the few wild mons that did charge at them.
Keifer had started to develop two different styles in battle between the two Pokemon. Buttercup was a little slower than Rina, but she could easily tank any hit on her way to Headbutt her foes, especially thanks to her screen moves.
Where-as, Rina could move faster and was definitely more versed in using special moves. She also had access to sing, which had been particularly useful against an especially angry group of Skowvet.
By the time noon had rolled around, Keifer was starting to feel satisfied with how well his two partners had been doing in terms of growth. He knew that Rina had gotten a little bit stronger and, despite being evolved, Buttercup had possibly grown a bit too despite the small-fry they were battling.
Stopping in a nice, sun-filled clearing, Keifer sat down, back against one of the few rocks in the clearing, taking a moment to rest and recharge.
"Bring it in Rina and Buttercup!" He called to the two after they had played together around the clearing for a while. The Popplio and Bayleef sat down in front of him, and while they had a few battle scars, there wasn't anything too bothersome; just some scratches or bruises; nothing a potion and sleep couldn't fix.
Reaching into his satchel, Keifer pulled out the lunch his mum had packed for them, the greenhead passing a sandwich to each of his partners.
And while it wasn't anywhere near the stuff they had in Paldea, it was a sandwich made with something only a mom could put into it; love.
And while they chowed down, Keifer could've sworn he heard Rina say something about how good the sandwich was – probably just his imagination, right.
"I should also have some wat- ACK!" As Keifer went to lift the bag up, something bit his hand, causing him to drop it. He quickly looked up after scowling from the pain to see the perpetrator…
Was a Starly that had STOLEN his bag!
"Son of a bitch! You ain't TAKING THAT!" Keifer reached for the nearest rock and threw it as hard as he could, missing the Flying type. "Arceus Damnit! C'mon, we can't let it get away!" His accent was coming on thick as he started to run after the Pokemon. Rina leapt onto Buttercup's back and the two kept pace.
The Starly paid the chasing human no heed; he'd already missed his rock, and whatever he had smelt from the bag, it smelt good.
"If you mess my bag up so HELP ME ARCEUS!"
Keifer was pissed.
The bag may have just seemed like a simple satchel to an outsider looking in, but Keifer's family knew just how important it was to him. It had been his grandfather's bag that he had used when he was younger.
It was the last thing he had ever given to Keifer before he had passed away.
The Starly started flying faster, putting more ground between them, but Keifer didn't. stop. Running. His heart burned as he continued to run.
Buttercup and Rina were slightly struggling to keep up, a decent-sized gap between trainer and partners forming as Keifer raged on.
He was a man on a mission.
"I can't lose the bag, I CAN'T!" Keifer's heart slammed against his chest as he continued the chase, his eyes locked on the Starly and his bag. They were coming up on a clearing, and… for some reason, the Starly was starting to slow down. Keifer, quickly feeling out of energy, had to slow down much like the bird did; the latter stopping just shy of clearing the tree line and the former landing near some rocks in the clearing.
With the two finally stopped, Buttercup and Rina finally caught up to Keifer, standing on either side of him.
Keifer watched closely as the Starly dropped the bag to the ground and began to try and get inside of it.
"If that little…" Keifer finally took a second to breathe. He didn't like being angry, and it was rare that he was. Rina and Buttercup beside him, he started to form an idea.
"If that Starly wants something from us, then it can home with us and apologize." Keifer's mind was set.
He was gonna catch the bird.
Whispering to his partners and pulling an empty ball off of his ball belt, he had a plan of action ready to go as the Starly had its' head half-buried in the bag.
"Three…"
"Two…"
"One…"
"NOW!" At Keifer's word, the three leapt into the clearing, and upon hearing the shouting, the Starly panicked, and what happened next was nothing short of comical.
Instead of trying to get the bag off of its' head, or fly way, it instead doubled down on bad decision making and tried to run to the sound of Keifer's voice…
Only to turn around and smack head-and-wing first into one of the rocks.
"…"
Okay, now Keifer felt a little bad. He held his hand out to stop Rina and Buttercup from advancing, opting to try the other half of his style of catching. Carefully approaching the flying type, Keifer began to talk.
"Hey… I don't wanna hurt you." The Pokemon was shaking a little as Keifer now was on his knees in front of it. He was finally able to see that his bag, thank Arceus, wasn't majorly damaged; just a couple claw marks. Carefully, he lifted it off of the Normal/Flying type's head, the two locking eyes for a moment.
Keifer could've sworn he heard it say 'Sorry' when it chirped, but his mind was elsewhere.
"Your wing… you hit it pretty badly huh?" It had hit it against the rock harder than its' head, and the small Pokemon nodded. It spread its' wings, Rina and Buttercup instantly taking defensive positions until the Starly flinched, unable to entirely stretch out completely.
"Star…" To Keifer, it seemed apologetic; perhaps because it hurt itself, it was genuine or a mix of the both.
But he wasn't gonna leave it out here like this. Especially not… this deep in the woods holy Arceus.
"Listen little guy; let's get somewhere safer and I'll get your wing healed up. After that though, I wanna catch you and have you be a part of my team. If it was food and drink you were after from my bag, I can promise you plenty of that. Deal?"
Keifer put as much genuine tone into his words as he could. A Starly wasn't super common to Galar; they typically only showed up around this time of year because of migration patterns; this one possibly fell off from its' flock on the way to Paldea.
The Pokemon cocked its' head before nodding. "Star! Starly!"
Keifer smiled, quickly lifting his bag and the Pokemon into his arms as slight chills ran down his spine. He knew they were definitely in the Slumbering Weald by now, and he wasn't about to let himself and his team become some wild Pokemon's dinner.
"Rina, Buttercup, let's get outta here." Nobody was opposed to that, the four quickly leaving the deeper part of the woods before anything bad could happen to them.
Finally stepping out of the woods, Keifer had a promise to keep. As the sun shone down on him and his team, they walked down the old dirt road until they finally reached their home.
"Once we're in here, we'll get your wing all patched up buddy." Keifer had already given the small bird an Oran Berry when they had gotten well out of range of the Slumbering Weald. That little 'shiver' didn't go away until they got out of distance, making Keifer silently thank Arceus that they had all bailed sooner rather than later.
Setting foot into his home, Keifer didn't hear anything at first; mum and Arthur must've been ou-
But he didn't expect a CREAMY TORPEDO to BODY him!
The Starly managed to keep from further harm as Keifer nearly stumbled onto his butt. In his other arm, he now held his mother's Alcremie, Mari.
"Hello to you too, Mari!" Keifer hugged the orange-swirl Alcremie after she spoke to him. From the life he'd spent being raised by her, he figured she was saying something along the lines of 'I missed you young man!' or 'When are you gonna give your mama some more love?' …or possibly both. All he heard was her saying her name over and over, but that didn't change what he felt.
As much as the greenhead wanted to give into that, he knew for certain there'd be plenty of fun times tonight, not to mention, he had a few other more important things to handle, mouthing the words 'Rain Check' to Mari, who nodded thoughtfully.
"Mum, Dad, I'm home!" Keifer called out. He even listened keenly for a moment; trying to see if he could hear the sounds of sex coming from his parents' room…
But nope.
Seeing as they weren't home, Keifer made a mental note to call his parents as he quickly went into the medicine cabinet in the kitchen. His parents kept it stocked with Max Potions, Revives, specific-medicine for the Wooloo, the works.
Wanting to get his new partner's wing patched up, he grabbed the blue Max Potion bottle out and closed the cabinet.
"Now… this is probably gonna sting. After I spray some of it, if you drink the rest, it'll help make that wing better faster." The Starly gave him a confident little nod.
Potions had always worked for both Humans and Pokemon, although, they always worked better for the latter. Keifer remembered all the times his mom would use a Potion and a couple bandages whenever he'd get hurt during farmwork.
Carefully, he sprayed some of the liquid around the spots where the Starly had hit its' wing against the rock, and the face he made nearly made Keifer laugh; and he would've if it wouldn't have come off as insensitive.
"Almost there, ya little rascal. Now, drink the rest." Keifer yanked the spray nozzle and held the bottle for his Starly, who gave a mock salute before chugging the potion; Keifer couldn't help but laugh at that point at the bird's over-reaction to the awful taste of the medicine.
"Rascal… BINGO!" Keifer snapped his fingers. "That's the name I'm giving you little guy." Keifer smiled to the Normal/Flying type, who chirped happily in response to his name. After a moment, the Starly spread his wings fully, and Keifer took notice of its' size; definitely bigger than your run of the mill Starly, meaning odds were, this one could let him fly on its' back safely when he fully evolved.
"Alright, let's get you into a ball Rascal." Keifer grabbed one of the empty balls from his belt and the normal/flying type made no opposition against him pressing the device to his head. After a few shakes and a ding, Rascal the Starly was officially Keifer's fourth team member.
"Buttercup, why don't you go show Rina and Rascal around the farm? There's something personal I gotta take care of." Keifer gently stroked the Bayleef's head as the gears in his mind turned a little.
"Bay!" The other two Pokemon followed at her request, leaving Keifer to sit down on the couch for a moment.
There was only one occupied ball on his belt at that moment.
He had meant to speak to Kira before leaving Alola, but he didn't want to run the risk of potentially being late and missing his flight.
Now having the time to properly speak to her, he let the Kirlia out of her ball.
The second she had fully materialized, Keifer felt like something had plugged into his brain, a migraine-like pain flaring up for several moments and stopping almost as quick as it had started.
"Hey…! What was that for?" Keifer didn't want to be uppity with her; he had a decent idea of what his aunt had been implying, so he knew to tread carefully.
"I simply combed your memories, your mind and your desires. Katie has bad taste if those memories aren't fabricated." She spoke in a curt tone, and after processing what Kira had said, he had to stop himself from biting back – was she just trying to poke at his patience?
"I know it's been a while, but… it's good to see you again Kira." Keifer spoke in a gentle tone; he genuinely meant what he said – back when he was younger, whenever his aunt came over, he and Kira would play together; almost like siblings.
The Kirlia said nothing, her gaze and flat expression not changing.
"So… did Aunt Katie tell you everything about the Galar Pokephile League Challenge?" After the Kirlia gave a curt nod, Keifer felt a little bit of surprise; if what he was thinking happened to Kira was right, then the fact she was willing to chance a challenge where the stakes were sex-
"You can get that thought out of your head right now. I will not be losing, and nothing or no one will touch me that way." Kira mentally interjected on his train of thought.
"Well, not losing is good, so you've got the spirit!" Keifer tried to be positive. He wanted Kira to know he was on her side; he didn't say yes to his aunt just to have another 'hole to fill'. "I guess my only other question then, is if you'd like to meet the others; they're all outside and-"
"No."
"Are you po-"
"I said no. Now, put me back in my ball. Don't call on me again unless it's to battle." She had a layer of disdain in her voice. Sighing internally, Keifer withdrew Kira and sunk further into the couch.
"No one ever said it was gonna be easy."
The rest of Keifer's final day at home had gone rather well, despite the… 'bumps'. Rascal had quickly acquainted himself with the rest of Keifer's team, and sure enough, the loose cannon was living up to his name; having quickly turned half the Wooloo against himself by accident when he landed in their hay.
Arthur and Jullie had gotten back after some time as well; they had gone out to get stuff to make a going away dinner, but also had gotten something Keifer had nearly forgotten about completely.
"We met up with Milo in Motostoke and got this for you – it's your letter of Endorsement." Keifer grinned when his mom handed him it. "You remember what to do with it, right?"
"I do mum, and THANK YOU!" He picked her up into a hug and kiss, Jullie shouting excitedly.
To participate in the Galar Pokephile League, one needed a Letter of Endorsement. These could come from any business associated with the league, the region's Gym Leaders, League Staff, or even the Chairman himself.
And of course, the letter-writer could revoke it at anytime, which was a far cry difference from how in the Junior League, you could just register and be set to go.
All Keifer had to do now was add his signature to the letter next to his Uncle Milo's and then show it at the Motostoke Stadium before or on the day of the Opening Ceremony and he'd be golden; the greenhead having already completed all the forms and waivers one had to sign stating that they consented to the many, many rules and stipulations the challenge had.
After he had taken care of that and one last look over his traveling bag, he spent the rest of the afternoon planning; how much time he'd spend in each area while on his journey, potential candidates for his team…
"Keifer, dinner's ready!" His mother called out to him, ripping him from his zoned-outness.
"Coming mum!"
Little did he know, all of his planning was gonna get thrown out the window, and truthfully, for the better.
Because what's a fun adventure if it's just following a plan from start to finish?
That night, Jullie had made one of Keifer's absolute favorites for dinner; it was her special homemade Galarian Pasta Curry.
The older woman had always, always gone above and beyond when making it; buying fresh noodles that she had ordered to be made the same day, making the sauce from scratch, alongside using a set of seasonings she kept secret. Jullie had always joked about publishing a cookbook with input from her friends.
All throughout dinner, a 'certain' cream swirl Pokemon had played only the most innocent prank on Keifer. What was that you may ask? Oh, just using a creamy tendril to tease and jerk him off under the table while he ate his mother's cooking. Jullie was fully aware of it, but it also wouldn't surprise her if part of the blocked moans came from how good her cooking was.
All subtlety flew out the window, however, when Mari 'excused' herself from the table, only to get beneath it and put herself between the green head's legs, Keifer having the hardest time in the world trying to enjoy his mother's dinner while also enjoying the boobjob his second mom was giving him.
That all 'came' to a head when Keifer gripped his fork extremely hard and half-choked half-moaned on a large bite of pasta as Mari coaxed a climax out of him, Jullie unable to contain a slight bout of laughter at the scene her lifelong Pokemon partner had helped create.
"Looks like Mari had to start the fun sooner." Jullie giggled and Keifer went a little more red in the face as he hurried to finish his plate before the Pokemon between his legs could get any more ideas.
Finishing out dinner and helping his mother get the kitchen cleaned up, that gave the family an ample amount of time…
For some 'quality' family bonding time.
What followed as an act that would be seen as 'Taboo' anywhere else in the world; even more taboo than when Keifer was plowing Jullie's fields just less than a few days ago.
Over the next few hours, Mothers and Son fucked. Keifer was pulled in and out and between Mari and Jullie, committing incestuous act after incestuous act. At one point it was almost like he and Arthur were competing after the Gallade joined in; the former buried inside of Jullie and the latter buried inside of Mari; as if to see who could knock up their partner harder and faster.
They could've gone on and on, but after one final round; with Mari's core being ravaged by Keifer's mouth, him and Arthur buried in Jullie's holes, the four shared a collective, final climax., both Jullie and Mari knowing full well that they'd need to take a healthy helping of Mothersbane in the morning, otherwise there'd be a few Milcery, Ralts and babies running around in the future.
Collapsing next to his mother in her king-sized bed, Keifer turned to look at his mother, Jullie looking towards her son as well.
"I'm so proud of how much you've grown." Jullie put a gentle hand on her son's face. "My little boy, now a young adult about to set out on his journey…"
"Thanks mum…" Keifer didn't expect to get emotional until the morning, but that was out the window now.
"I want you to know Keifee… if it ever gets rough, or you want to come home, you're always more than welcome. I won't tell you that the league is easy, but it's one of the most fun and rewarding things I got to do."
And what Jullie said next had Keifer cuddling his mom like he was still a little kid.
"Because I got to have you as a result of it."
After a long night of cuddling and good rest, the Penn residence began to wake.
Keifer, already packed up and ready to go, thought about the road ahead.
He didn't need a Pokedex; so, no good excuse to go to the Pokemon Lab in Wedgehurst… except maybe Sonia. Only issue was, he could bump into Mangolia there instead.
Keifer had already gotten himself a ticket to the wild area, so by that evening, he and his team would be camping out together, under the stars after a day of training against wild Pokemon, and, who knows, maybe he'd finally get his first few battles in.
That aspect excited him; finally getting to properly battle other trainers. He had grown up watching Champion Matches, his Uncle Milo battle trainers, the works. He wouldn't pretend he knew everything about it – just some basics…
But this was his chance to grow and show the world who he was!
Keifer had made a promise several years ago; a promise to his grandfather.
He wouldn't give up and he'd stay strong, no matter what! No matter how hard or challenging the road ahead got, Keifer wasn't going to give up.
He told Kassi and Hop that he was going to make it to the top; even if they had to fight one another after getting all 8 Badges or on the path to that point, Keifer didn't plan on giving up. He could lose a dozen times, but he'd get right back up.
"Go kick some ass, kiddo." Jullie grinned to her son as he pulled on his jacket, completing his 'trainer' style. Grey-tannish pants perfectly mixing with his white and green sneakers alongside his jade-colored shirt and eyes, the jacket's color scheme matching his outfit and hair/eyes to an almost perfect-T.
Turning back one last time, Keifer grinned to his mother, Mari and Arthur, the sun practically making him shine.
"You better believe I will!"
Maybe it was childish, but Keifer's adventure was beginning at long last!
"Galar, HERE I COME!"
