Well, after an unfortunate misunderstanding with National Grid that was thankfully resolved, I bring you Sonic and Amy's side of this special day of love on the island! XD

TEA PARTY

As the two new couples made their way into the village, eager to see what was happening at the convention, they were unexpectedly greeted by whispers and stares. They looked around and saw everyone pointing at them and smiling. Joy seemed to be everywhere, and there was no doubt it was all aimed at the two couples.

"Look! Now we have two adorable couples!" someone shouted out.

"Oh, this is such a happy day!" said another.

"What a time for love to go around!" joked Mike the Ox.

The four simply chuckled sheepishly and continued on their walk through the uncharacteristically happy village.

"I take it everyone was so happy when they found out about you two," commented Tails to Sonic and Amy.

"Oh, you should have seen everyone, Tails! It was the happiest I'd seen the village in who knows how long!" replied Amy.

"It seemed everyone was anticipating it was going to happen at some point," added Sonic, "I can fondly say that today was one of the happiest days of my life!"

"Me, too, Sonic!" said Amy, kissing Sonic's cheek.

"I'm so happy for you, Amy!" said Zooey, "Congratulations!"

"And congratulations to you, too!" replied Sonic, playfully ruffling Tails' bangs again.

"Hey!" laughed Tails as his brother hugged him.

"Given how adorably happy you two are together, I think you would have loved to have seen our beautiful moment!" said Amy, and she began to think back on that special moment her life changed forever …

Earlier that day, around lunchtime, Amy was sitting in her house feeling a little somewhat anxious and almost sweating profusely.

She had called Sonic to come over to her house, because she wanted to show him something that she found earlier in the week, and much to her relief, Sonic agreed to her request. Although, what the speedy blue hedgehog didn't know was that Amy's simple request was a little more than met the eye.

Amy, like everyone else, had spent the last month recovering from the disastrous Gold Ray incident with Tails and Eggman. Her heart was still filled with remorse after she, Knuckles and Sticks had abused and beaten Tails out of anger because of what he had accidentally done to their properties with his infamous weapon. After being told off by Sonic, Amy was probably the most remorseful of the three, and she spent the next couple weeks after the incident doing anything she could to rekindle her friendship with the two-tailed fox. It served to heal many wounds, and soon the memory became nothing more than a bad dream which the team struggled to put behind them and get back on the right track.

A month had passed, and during that time, Amy's feelings for Sonic had slowly begun to grow from being close friends and partners in combat to becoming more than just either of those things.

The pink hedgehog hadn't dared to outright tell Sonic how she really felt, especially when Tails' old contraption U.T (Universal Translator) almost read out her true feelings for him in front of everyone. She kept her feelings to herself, out of worry that Sonic may not feel the same way, and didn't want their relationship to affect the team's performance.

Today, however, after a whole month of feeling uncertain about her own romantic feelings for the blue hedgehog, Amy Rose decided to finally take a big risk and tell him exactly how she felt, with no restrictions and no backing out, though nervousness was an exception given how everyone went through that stage when building a romantic relationship.

"You can do this, Amy Rose," the pink hedgehog said to herself, "You can do this. Just keep nice and calm, take your time to explain your feelings to Sonic, and then, we'll see how things go from there."

She nervously held what looked to be a ring box in her hands. She wasn't sure how this was going to end, but the least she could do was try.

"I just hope he feels the same as I do," she thought aloud, "I won't know until I tell him."

As Amy continued to talk to herself and psych herself up for the inevitable, she suddenly heard the front door knocking, making her jolt a bit and almost drop the ring box in a fumbling manner.

"Yikes!" she squeaked, quickly composing herself again, "W-Who is it?"

"It's me, Amy!" called Sonic's voice from outside, "You said you wanted to see me about something. Can you let me in, please?"

"Okay! Be right there! Hold on!" Amy called, putting the ring box in her pocket before quickly going to a mirror and brushing her pink quills with a hair brush to look tidy for her crush.

Briefly going outside, Sonic waited patiently for Amy to come and unlock the door, which was very rare for the speedster to do because most of the time he was rather impatient when he was standing in one spot, especially if there was a battle with Eggman or Shadow or anyone of the wannabe villains that wandered around the town.

Unaware to Sonic, though, two nearby friends, Sticks the Badger and Knuckles the Echidna, were watching in secret behind a nearby building, the former suspicious about what was going on between the two hedgehogs while the latter hadn't a clue on why he and the badger were watching Sonic.

"What is our leader up to, going to Amy's house for?" questioned Sticks suspiciously.

"Could be just an innocent meeting," guessed Knuckles, "I mean, private team meetings can come and go."

"No, no, no, there's more to it than just a meeting, red beetle head," retorted Sticks, "They're up to something. Maybe they're plotting a twisted plan to betray us and send the government to enslave us and get information from us!"

"Oh, come on, Sticks, it can't be that bad," replied Knuckles, "I think it's just something innocent."

"Since when do you know the difference between innocence and dishonesty!?" screeched Sticks, covering her mouth quickly as she realized she almost blew their cover.

Sonic was certain he could hear voices coming from somewhere behind, and when he turned around, Sticks quickly dragged Knuckles behind the building they were spying on from, and disappeared from view before he could even spot them. After a suspicious look at the building, the blue hedgehog shrugged his shoulders, dropped the subject and turned back to the door.

Back inside, Amy approached the door and unlocked it, opening it up to find Sonic the Hedgehog, team leader and world's fastest hedgehog, waiting on her doorstep, the casual cool grin on his face, blue fur and green eyes shining brightly in the sun.

"Heya, Ames!" Sonic winked, making her blush a bit, "What's up?"

"Sonic! I… I'm really glad you could come over," said Amy nervously, "P-Please come in, don't stand there in the cold."

Sonic simply dashed right through the doorway in a blue dash of light, allowing for Amy to close the door. The ring box was safety hidden in her dress pocket, so it was away from Sonic's sharp prying eyes.

"Heh, Amy, it's not even winter," joked Sonic, "We're in summer."

"T-That's beside the point, Sonic," replied Amy, "A draft can always come in, whether it's hot or cold during the day."

Sonic chuckled and rolled his eyes, "Fair enough, Ames. You make a fair point."

Amy smiled and blushed cutely, showing him a nearby table that had what looked to be a tea party set up for two, with a couple of stuffed teddy bears seated around the place to make it look all the more adorable.

Being a sweet girl most of the time, as long as no one triggered off her temper, Amy certainly was one to please others and make them feel welcome and comfortable in her house.

"C-Can I offer you some tea and cake, Sonic?" asked Amy hopefully, "I figured a little tea party might quench your thirst."

Sonic certainly wasn't expecting this. It wasn't like Amy to invite him to a tea party.

"Hmm, well normally I'd get a milkshake from Meh Burger on a day like today," said Sonic, "However, given Dave has been fired from that place and it's temporarily closed down until a new owner can be found, I think I can make an exception this time, Amy. So yeah, I'd love a cup of tea, please!"

"E-Excellent!" stuttered Amy happily, "Please, come and sit down next to Bunny Huggles. He's really friendly."

Chuckling, Sonic obliged and followed Amy to the table.

Meanwhile, with the blue hedgehog inside, Sticks quietly dragged Knuckles around to one of the side windows of Amy's house, making sure to not tread on any small twigs scattered across the ground to cause a noise disturbance.

"Now, let's see what they're really up to," muttered Sticks.

"Aww, come on, do we have to spy on them?" moaned Knuckles, "I've got a set of dung bells that are calling my name in town."

"Dude, now's not the time to think about yourself! This is important!" Sticks hushed, "Now, be quiet!"

With no other choice, Knuckles rolled his eyes in defeat as he and Sticks looked through the window and managed to make themselves go completely unseen, with Sticks using a set of homemade binoculars to spy on the hedgehogs.

Knuckles saw the two hedgehogs seated at the table where the tea party for two was being held, and he sagged in dismay.

"Aww, why didn't they invite us to their little tea party?" he whined.

"Shhhh! Will you please be quiet!?" hissed Sticks, "You'll blow our cover!"

Knuckles sighed inaudibly and continued to watch the scene unfold.

Unaware of the paranoid badger and uninterested echidna watching them from the window, Amy poured herself and Sonic some tea before she gave the cup and saucer to her crush.

"Thank you," said Sonic generously as he sipped his tea, "Hmm, good tea, too."

"O-Oh, you're welcome!" giggled Amy cutely, "And thank you."

An awkward moment of silence and drinking tea passed before Sonic broke the ice by speaking to Amy.

"So, Ames, what did you want to see more for? Other than have a private tea party?" Sonic asked, chuckling afterwards.

Swallowing her nerves and feeling like she was close to fainting from whatever reaction she would get from him, Amy decided to tell him exactly why she wanted him over to her house and what she wanted to say to him.

She gulped and dug into her pocket. It was now or never.

"I… I wanted to show you this," she said with her cheeks blushing.

Sonic was surprised to see her suddenly pull out a tiny box from her pocket. It could only mean that she had some sort of present to give him. The blue blur could only wonder just what she had in mind.

"Sonic, ... I ... there's ... something I need to tell you," Amy stammered nervously.

Judging from her sudden change in behavior, Sonic immediately grew worried for his pink hedgehog friend.

"What is it, Amy?" asked Sonic.

Amy took a deep breath to recompose herself, and she looked directly into Sonic's emerald green eyes.

"For a long time now, ... I've ... had these feelings about you, ... but I could never find the bravery to say anything in your presence," said Amy, "I probably sound as though I've been crushing on you ever since we first laid our eyes on each other, ... but it's true. I've been hiding it from everyone, even you, ... because I was afraid of how everyone would react. Until now, ... I've never had the courage to speak up or say anything, ... but now ... I feel that I can't put it off any longer."

Sonic grew wide-eyed upon hearing this, clearly taken by surprise.

"Amy, ... are you ... trying to say that-"

Before he could finish his question, Amy suddenly bolted from her chair and knelt right in front of him, her hands shaking as she held the tiny box.

"Oh, Sonic!" she said as her voice began to break, "I've wanted to say this for years! I could never get enough of your blue fur and emerald green eyes! I've always appreciated you being there for me in times of need, and now I can say that your presence has warmed me whenever we're alone together, even for just a few precious seconds! I ... I ... I-"

Sonic tensed as he saw the tears welling up in her eyes, and before he could react, Amy prepared to open the box as though she was proposing to someone.

It was now that the realization began to kick in within Sonic; the possibility that Amy had secretly had feelings for him all this time but had never had the courage to tell him so. He had no doubt what she was going to say next ...

"Sonic," continued Amy, choking back a sob, "I'm so sorry. I hope I'm not being a burden when I say ... that ..."

The pink hedgehog let a few tears slip down her cheeks before she looked into Sonic's eyes again, and she slowly began to open the box as she spoke in a faint whisper with her sparkly green eyes filled with tears ...

"I love you, Sonic."

Sonic gasped and stared into Amy's eyes, and the box shakily opened to reveal two rings in the same shade of emerald green as their eyes. The blue blur froze in astonishment as he eyed the beautiful rings that shone so brightly.

"Amy?" he whispered.

"Oh, Sonic!" cried Amy as the floodgates finally opened, "I love you so much, Sonic! You'd have no idea how painful it was to hide it for all these years! From the moment I first gazed upon you, you made my heart flutter like no one else could! I wished for so long that I would get to share my feelings with you, and now I can't keep it bottled in anymore! I love you, Sonic! I love you with all my heart, Sonic! My heart beats for no one but you! I just ... wish ... that yours beats for me."

Taking a quick breather, Amy continued, taking one of Sonic's hands in her own tightly.

"These rings… are special love rings that I found in the market. They are said to cement one's relationship with each other in a special, romantic way once you put them on your fingers. I bought these rings specially for us… but only if we did get together. I'll… I'll understand if you don't feel the same as I do, Sonic, but just know… I will always love you with all of my heart, whether we are a couple… or just friends. I love you, Sonic, no matter what the outcome will be."

A silence passed over as Sonic stared at Amy, taken complexly aback by her heartfelt confession, as well as the rings that were presented to him. He was deeply moved.

Barely choking a sob of his own from being unable to bear anyone crying around him, Sonic gently pulled Amy up onto his lap, much to her surprise. The two hedgehogs looked into each other's shiny, emerald green eyes.

"Amy, ... you don't need to be so brave just to express your feelings," said Sonic, "Your sweet words have really moved me."

Amy just continued staring into Sonic's eyes, fluttering and panting with hope.

"In a way, part of me always knew you had these special feelings for me. I'd been picking up the signs for quite a while now," continued Sonic, "I suppose you could guess why I never said anything either. I was waiting for the day you said the magic words."

Amy gasped in astonishment as she heard those words.

"You mean, ... you do ...!?" she stuttered in surprise.

Sonic smiled and pulled her closer.

"Yes, Amy," he whispered, "I love you, too."

A huge gasp escaped from Amy's mouth as her heart melted with delight.

"My heart could never think of anyone else but you," said Sonic, "Your pink fur and green eyes are a sight for sore eyes, and now that I've come to think about it, I don't think I could imagine my life without you."

"Oh, Sonic!" Amy shouted blissfully, "You are so sweet!"

Sonic chuckled sheepishly, overwhelmed by Amy's happy crying of joy.

"Would you like to do the honors?" he asked, pointing to the rings in the box, "I think it's time we finally made our relationship together official."

Amy blushed, nodded and chuckled, as she took one of the rings and delicately placed it on Sonic's finger.

"I give you this ring to express my desire to be with you for all eternity, Sonic the Hedgehog, until death do us part," said Amy, making Sonic blush and giggle a little.

"Oh, Amy," he chuckled.

"I know it's not a wedding or anything like that, but you know how I am with romance," replied Amy, her cheeks turning even redder than his.

The two hedgehogs shared a brief laugh before Sonic took the other ring from the box and placed it delicately on Amy's finger.

"I give you this ring to express my desire to be with you for all eternity, Amy Rose, until death do us part," he recited, and the two giggled at their humorous words as they stared into each other's eyes again.

It was only then that Sonic realized how beautiful Amy Rose truly was, both in her green eyes and in her overall appearance with her bright pink fur, cute red dress and the smell of peach-scented perfume. This was the girl who was his close partner in battle, the one who harbored feelings for him, someone who would always love him for who he was.

This was his future romantic partner, the true love of his life on Bygone Island.

The two brought their faces so close together that they were practically touching, and soon they couldn't resist the urge any longer. They knew now was the time to cement their new relationship and become an official couple after many months of 'will-they, won't they", and also, in Sonic's case, to stop Eggman from bugging him about the subject.

Closing their eyes, the two hugged each other tightly and brought their lips together for a deep, passionate kiss.

They sat there in blissful happiness and fell into a beautiful trance, enjoying each other's warmth, love and tasty lips. It was as if everything around them had ceased to exist and they had landed in some beautiful, calm world up in the clouds, a world where nothing mattered but just themselves and each other.

Amy quietly sighed in happiness as she kissed the love of her life, her dreams of being together with Sonic finally becoming a true reality. The moment felt so perfect, and no one was around to ruin it for them.

As the two hedgehogs briefly broke off to catch their breaths and then initiated a second loving kiss, Sticks and Knuckles could only watch in stunned silence from the window, although while Knuckles looked like he fully supported the two hedgehogs and their new relationship, Sticks was not quite the person to like mushy stuff.

"Ohh, eww!" Sticks grimaced, taking the binoculars off her eyes and turning away in disgust, "That's disgusting mushy stuff, and I can't stand it!"

"Aww, I think it's lovely," said Knuckles, "Amy's finally making a move on Sonic. Isn't that sweet?"

"Ugh, how can you love that stuff?" groaned Sticks, sticking her tongue out, "Why do you think I don't want a romantic partner?"

"Who knows, you might find someone you may like in the future," Knuckles countered back.

Ignoring the echidna's words and pretending he wasn't next to her, Sticks rubbed her eyes and peered back into the room, without her binoculars this time to spare herself of anymore mushy details.

"Where do those two find the energy?" she murmured to herself disdainfully.

Sonic and Amy finally broke away from their passionate kiss and stared into each other's sparkly eyes once again, panting lightly from how much their kiss took some of their air supply out of them.

While Sonic only smiled in his usual fashion while holding hands with Amy, the pink hedgehog herself was on cloud nine. She was beaming from ear to ear, and was at her happiest moment.

"Sonic… that was amazing," said Amy.

"Yeah, it felt pretty good too," agreed Sonic, "I didn't think a first kiss with you would feel this good."

"Well, … guess it's the strawberry lip gloss that I put on earlier this morning," joked Amy, kissing his cheek, "And perhaps, it's also the smell of my peach-scented perfume that's brought you closer to me."

Almost laughing, Sonic nuzzled his face against Amy's, the two of them happily purring in each other's loving comfort. Pulling back to face his new girlfriend, Sonic placed a gentle hand on the side of Amy's face, allowing her to rest her cheek against it and purr lightly again, completely at her happiest.

"You, Amy Rose, will always be my Princess Peach," said Sonic romantically.

Amy blushed and giggled quietly at the nickname, finding it adorably appropriate.

"PEACH!?"

Suddenly, the romantic moment came to an abrupt end when the sound of a familiar and loud-mouthed echidna shouted out loud, causing Amy and Sonic to come back to reality with wide eyes and hastily swivel their heads around to where that noise came from, and what they saw not only embarrassed them, but also made them start fuming in severe annoyance.

At the window, watching the two, were Sticks and Knuckles, the former looking nervously wide-eyed and had her orange gloveless hand covering over the latter's mouth, though it was very obvious that she was too late to stop him from blowing their cover.

Trying to think of an excuse quickly, Sticks chuckled nervously and removed her hand from Knuckles' face, sweat forming on the side of her head to go with her guilty smile.

"U-Uh, … h-hi, I'm Daisy!" Sticks fumbled quickly, "And t-this is, uh, D-Donkey Kong!"

"Hey! I'm no monkey! Who do you think you're talking to?" retorted an offended Knuckles.

The badger's pathetic excuse fell on deaf ears very quickly to Sonic and Amy, who quickly let go of each other's hands and stood up, fuming.

"KNUCKLES! STICKS!" Sonic and Amy growled.

Knuckles and Sticks slowly backed away, knowing they were busted.

The village seemed like business as usual, as everyone was doing their daily shopping and errands.

Before long, however, some of the citizens heard the sounds of both screaming and shouting coming around the corner.

They turned around to the incoming sound, and watched as Sticks and Knuckles came running around the bend, fleeing for their lives. A few seconds later, Sonic and Amy came running after them, the former running in his glowing blue aura while the latter was running with her Piko Hammer in hand, both hedgehogs clearly angry and embarrassed by having their moment ruined by the two knuckleheads.

"Run for it! They've gone mad!" screeched Sticks.

"Coming through, folks!" proclaimed Knuckles, "Nothing to see here!"

The badger and echidna vaulted over a stack of empty wooden apple boxes, which were all shortly smashed into pieces by Amy slamming her hammer through it, reducing them all to tiny splinters.

"Get back here, you two!" shouted Sonic.

"Don't you both know it's very rude to eavesdrop on a private conversation!?" added Amy, just as furious as her new boyfriend was.

As they panted a bit to regain their breath, which was almost rare for Sonic to do given he was the fastest thing alive, he and Amy then took the time to notice that some of the townspeople were staring at them in curious awe. It wasn't just the hedgehogs themselves that they were looking at, though. It was the two green love rings that were on their gloved fingers.

Quiet murmurs went around the town between the villagers as they eyed their rings. Sonic and Amy nervously gazed at everyone, then their rings, and blushed deeply. They didn't know how they were going to explain this to everyone.

"Are they…?" murmured one citizen.

"No, they couldn't be …," said another.

"They are!" a third added, "They're finally together!"

The townspeople gave them a much better reception than Sonic and Amy had initially thought. While they appreciated it, they didn't quite have the time to explain right now, with Sticks and Knuckles getting further away.

"U-Uhh, we'll explain about these rings later, folks!" stuttered Sonic, chuckling awkwardly.

"Y-Yeah, we will!" added a blushing Amy, "But right now, we've got two nosy people to catch!"

Without a second thought, Sonic and Amy resumed their chase and went after wherever Sticks and Knuckles ran off into the distance.

Later that day, as the evening skies turned orange with the sun slowly setting in the western horizon, Sonic and Amy were walking through the town once again, holding each other's hands in a loving manner with their rings shining on their fingers and being visible to everyone they walked past.

The two young lovers had managed to catch up to Sticks and Knuckles, and while they thankfully didn't hurt or beat them up, because even they had standards, Sonic and Amy did give Sticks and Knuckles a bit of a telling off for impolitely spying on them during a private moment and to remember to respect their privacy in the mindful future. While the two understood, Knuckles congratulated the new couple with open arms, while Sticks was rather neutral to the subject at hand.

Everyone in town congratulated the couple and wished them all the very best, although the wannabe villains like Dave, his Lightning Bolts group, Charlie and T.W Barker, didn't really care for the happy hedgehogs, and D.B Platypus didn't seem that their relationship was that good for suitable role models, but they just ignored that irritating character and paid him no mind.

Regardless, Sonic and Amy were happy to be together as newly formed sweethearts, and they couldn't imagine being apart from each other for a single second.

"Sonic, you've made me the happiest pink hedgehog on the whole island," said Amy, dreamily holding onto his arm.

"Heh-heh, I know, Ames," chuckled Sonic, "Just know that I'll always love you from this day forward, to the end of time."

Amy smiled beautifully and stopped their walk to take the time to surprise her new boyfriend with a big kiss on the lips, which he was quick to return, holding each other as the setting sun shined on them from behind the nearby jungle.

Afterwards, they broke off their kiss and held hands again.

"I wonder how Tails will take the news of us being together?" asked Sonic curiously.

"Well, given Tails is in his own happy relationship with Zooey," replied Amy cheekily, "I think he'll take it very well. Let's go and see him!"

"Yeah, let's see how he's doing," agreed Sonic.

With that in mind, Sonic and Amy gazed at each other, nuzzled happily and walked off together, hand in hand.

It was on that special day that Sonic and Amy could finally say they were a very happy couple with a bright future together, and they happily anticipated the reaction from Sonic's little brother as they walked towards the fox's humble home.

"Ha!" laughed Tails as the hedgehogs finished telling him and Zooey their love story, "I'd have gladly given Knuckles and Sticks a piece of my mind if they had intruded our moment!"

"Don't worry, Tails," assured Amy, "I don't think they'll be pestering us about this matter anymore, … especially Sticks."

"You know, in a way, this brings our team closer together," said Sonic thoughtfully.

"Come to think about it, yes, it does!" agreed Amy, "I'm finally in love with a handsome cobalt hedgehog who happens to have a genius little two-tailed fox brother!"

Tails chuckled nervously as Amy gave him a sincere smile. It was quite clear that they hadn't completely recovered from the Gold Ray incident, but this new relationship between Sonic and Amy would help the whole team learn from their past mistakes and grow stronger than ever.

"Look!" Zooey suddenly shouted, pointing to a nearby crowded building, "The convention's got everyone excited!"

"Oh, boy! This is gonna be fun!" said Tails excitedly, "I wonder what they've got going in there!"

"Only one way to find out, lil' bro!" replied Sonic.

"Something exciting, I hope!" giggled Amy.

The four all walked together and made their way into the convention, eager to see what all the evening buzz was about. Whatever the convention had in store for them, it was the perfect way to end such a romantic day for two great couples, and they would all remember this day for the rest of their lives.

So, now we have two happy couples on the island! From here on, things can only get happier!

We will try to update frequently, but I can't guarantee it'll be an everyday thing. Like I said when I posted the first chapter, I have more important things going on in my life now, most notably my part-time job, so I ask you all to be patient as I balance my time. I don't have anywhere near the writing stamina I once had back around 2015 or so. Things have changed ... a lot.
