Chapter 1:
In a random alley, a portal appears from nowhere and a young boy appears with it. As quick as the portal formed, it disappeared without a trace.
A random person passing by the alley, spotted the young boy and kindly called the authorities before walking away.
When the authorities came, they couldn't seem to identify the boy's identity and decided to send the boy to the hospital for inspection.
However, when the police's back was turned, the boy jolted awake and bolted away from the scene.
P.O.V change
As I slowly woke up, I heard those men were going to take me somewhere. I felt very scared so I ran away as soon as they couldn't see me. I ran and ran until I ran out of air to breathe.
I figured that after running so far away, they couldn't have known where I went, right? My worries vanished when I smelled something very nice coming from a shop.
I ran to grab the food without hesitation and got yelled at by the owner. I quickly ate it and smiled awkwardly back at the owner.
The owner is a huge man compared to me, he has a scary look on his face. He grabbed my shirt collar and threatened to punch me until an older guy stopped him.
He was very fast, I didn't even see his movement. He blocked the punch and gave the man some money before he grabbed me and left the place.
He let me go when we got to a safe place and asked "Where are your parents, kid? "I hesitatingly answer "I…I don't have any. "
He stared at me for a moment then shook off the thoughts, "Hmm… you reminded me of a student of mine, he is also an orphan. He came to me a year ago and asked me to train him. "
"Are you a teacher for fighting, mister? "I was intrigued at the prospect of fighting but I don't know why. He nodded at me and continued "I have a dojo on the mountains at City Z, come find me if you are interested. " As he was finishing, he was distracted by a ring in his phone. "See you around kid, duties called. "He left without a moment for me to ask more questions.
Time skip
The following day, I followed the old man's direction and started to head to the dojo because I have nowhere to go anyway. Unfortunately for me, the old man did not specifically tell me which mountain in City Z, so I have to figure it out by myself.
I was travelling on foot when I discovered a jackpot on the outskirt of City Z. Next to the open road, a box of apples and pears was left behind. I didn't suspect a thing as I walked toward it. I looked toward its content, I found a note containing the direction toward the dojo. I grabbed some food from the box and left.
I arrived at the foot of the mountain, I looked up and saw a set of stairs, which seemed to stretch infinitely toward the top. Next to the entrance of the stairs was a sign that said 'Dojo up ahead'. I found it very suspicious but I have come a long way so I followed the ominous stairway to 'heaven'.
It took me almost 8 hours of non-stopped climbing for me to reach the top. By the time I finally finish the climb, it is already sunset. As I reached the top, I was greeted by the old man once again. "What took you so long? "He asked with a playful tone in his voice. I didn't manage to reply as I fell into the void of unconsciousness.
