Chapter 1

English is not my native language, and this story will be a way to study and improve it, I hope your advice

Many people believe that the world functions thanks to the balance that exists between two fundamental forces that are opposed to each other, but complement each other, Yin as the representative of darkness and Yang as the representative of light. According to this idea, every being, object or thought possesses a complement on which it depends for its existence and which in turn exists within itself.

In Konohagakure two children only a day old will become the clear representation of this belief, children who at their young age already carry on them a great burden that was imposed on them by their father.

Sarutobi Hiruzen, was someone respected by many and feared by others, he was known as the teacher, the Shinobi no Kami, the Sandaime Hokage, but now as she was back in an office she never thought she would be in charge of again, she was thinking about the events of the previous day.

The Kyūbi no Yōko had broken free from his previous Jinchuriki and attacked Konoha, during the attack many ninja and civilians lost their homes, their families and the most unfortunate lost their lives While trying to escape and others fought against the most powerful of the tailed beasts.

Among the numerous deaths two stood out above all others, The Yondaime Hokage had been killed in the confrontation by defeating the beast with the help of his wife, While Kushina restrained the Kyūbi by making use of her Kekkei Genkai, Minato had sealed the Bijū in his two sons.

Raising his head from the pile of papers that surrounded his desk, Hiruzen looked at the crib that was next to him, in it already made the children of his now predecessor and his wife, the sight of the sleeping babies filled with sadness to old kage to regret in the family that was snatched the opportunity to live together. The children, although twins, were very different physically with one of them being the male version of their mother and the other an almost carbon copy of their father.

Kagami Uzumaki a beautiful red-haired baby with pupil-less purple eyes and fair complexion became just a few hours old the new Jinchuriki of the Kyūbi.

Naruto Uzumaki had blond colored hair with blue colored eyes, his face was adorned by three mustache marks on each cheek, his complexion had a tan tone.

Naruto unlike his brother who had become a Jinchuriki, Naruto became a Pseudo-Jinchuriki by containing the chakra of the beast, preventing the Kyūbi from being a threat in case he managed to free himself from his brother's body or at least that was Minato's idea, although the escape of the Kyūbi was almost impossible given that in the words of a dying Yondaime, Naruto was a Namikaze (Namikaze is not a clan) and Kagami was a pure Uzumaki, emphasizing that not only his physical appearance but also his reserves, strength and chakra density were already superior to any newborn coming from ninja clans, with all this in his favor he could safely contain the Bijū as long as no one would weaken the seal.

Sarutobi must have agreed with Minato's words, just by looking at Naruto it was clear that the only thing he inherited from his mother was part of his facial features being the most notorious the shape of the eyes, and face, in turn from what Sarutobi could feel from the young blond, his chakra reserves, chakra strength and density were slightly above average thanks to his Uzumaki genes, ('on the other hand, he knew that Naruto's reserves as well as his chakra strength and density would grow thanks to being the Kyūbi's Pseudo-Jinchuriki').

As he turned his gaze to the young red-haired man his mind went back again to the moment when Minato breathed his last breath.

Flashback

Looking at his now dead successor, all he could feel was sadness and anger. He was saddened by the death of such a young person, someone who had a whole life ahead of him, someone who had been denied the opportunity to experience fatherhood, someone he considered a great friend. But the greatest feeling was anger that was directed at himself, he was the one who should have performed the jutsu that took the life of his successor (he chose to ignore the hole in his chest courtesy of the Kyūbi's claw).

Looking away from Minato's body, he turned his gaze to the red-haired girl who was lying in a tree whispering words to her children before death separated them. Such a scene only made his anger and sadness overwhelm him more as he imagined the happy family the young couple could have had, but was taken from him.

Sarutobi was pulled out of his thoughts by a pain-filled voice calling out to him.

"Sarutobi-Sama ... Please help me ... Finish the seal" were the words full of pain, sadness and regret that came out of Kushina's mouth.

Heading quickly to the young mother's side, he asked the question that filled his mind the moment Kushina's last words registered in his head "What's wrong with the seal, did Minato fail to complete it?".

"He completed it" the woman's now weaker voice replied, Hiruzen's confusion must have been visible on his face as Kushina responded before the Sandaime could ask a new question "He used the seal ... Of four symbols to seal the Kyūbi in Kagami ... Even if Kyūbi doesn't have his chakra yet ... He will still be able to retrieve it as long as it is sealed and ... The four trigram seal will not hold and it will depend on ... On Kagami to retain Kyūbi on his own."

"You must not have much chakra left, along with your condition it will be impossible for you and I am not a seal master like..." what Hiruzen was planning to say was interrupted by a coughing fit from the woman in front of him, acting quickly Hiruzen prevented her from falling from her sitting position.

"I'm fine... Don't worry old man" Kushina said after recovering her voice as she gave a big smile in an attempt to lighten the moment and if the small smile on the kage's lips was any indication, she had succeeded.

Taking a serious look (As serious as a person on the verge of death could give) Kushina turned to the Sandaime "Sarutobi-Sama I'll take care of the seal ... I can still do it, but ... I need you to allow me to use your chakra to complete the seal.

Nodding Hiruzen placed his hands over Kushina's as she finished going through a sequence of seals in an attempt to mold his chakra properly, after placing his hands over hers, he felt his chakra slowly leave him as the seal matrix formed from Kushina's palm, glowing as it was completed.

Once the new seal was finished, Kushina inspected it quickly before smiling. Kagami's seal was now the eight trigram seal with a small modification on her part as a parting gift for Kyūbi, though it would also be a great gift for her son in the future.

Drawing her children closer to her in an embrace, Kushina would exhale for the last time dying with a smile on her face, as if sensing her mother's death, Kagami awoke and began to cry as she clutched a lock of her now deceased mother's hair.

As tears escaped her eyes, Hiruzen bowed his head unable to see the sad scene before him. Sarutobi didn't know how long she stayed like that but when the ANBU arrived on the scene, Kagami had stopped crying and instead had fallen asleep with her mother's lock of hair clutched tightly in her hand.

End Flashback

Sighing, Hiruzen stood up as he commanded with a slight wave of his hand to the ANBU hiding in the shadows to look after the children as he left the office in the direction of the council room.

The Konoha ruling council met the morning after the Kyūbi's attack with the intention of assessing the situation and making plans to move forward. The clan chiefs took their seats, some new faces among them and some missing faces. All had some degree of injury on them. The 10 civilian council members took their seats on the opposite side of the U-shaped table, and the 3 elders of Konoha took their places at a separate table that was to the left of the Hokage's seat, which was at the head of the U-shaped table.

"Where is Hokage-sama?" one council member asked another. The clan heads also wondered the same thing, looking around to see if anyone knew anything, after all Minato was never late for meetings. "Quiet!" the Sandaime ordered, as he entered the council meeting room. He walked over to the Hokage's seat in his old robe and took a seat.

"Sandaime-sama, where is the Yondaime?" Nara Shikaku asked the former Hokage.

"He... passed away last night fighting the Kyūbi." Hiruzen sadly informed a surprised council.

"It can't be... Minato-sama... Dead?" The council members could not hide their shock and sadness. Their village is in ruins, and their powerful and beloved leader is gone never to return.

"With the death of Yondaime, I will take back the hat as Hokage, until I find a worthy successor. Any objections?" None had any objections, they needed strong leadership that had the experience to help the village through this crisis.

All except Shimura Danzo, Hiruzen's former teammate in the second shinobi war. He had always thought he would make a better Hokage for the village, considering himself the only person who knew and could do the hard things that needed to be done to keep Konoha at the top of the pecking order. His former teammate was too soft.

However, he kept his opinion to himself, he knew that Konoha needed a recognizable face right now. Despite being unpopular among many of the Shinobi for being shady, even by Shinobi standards, no one would deny the man's love for Konoha.

"So how bad are our losses?" asked Hiruzen, trying to assess the situation.

"We lost about 20% of our shinobi forces. Most of them are Jōnin." Shikaku reported regretfully.

A civilian councilman then gave his report. "The civilian and industrial sector in the village was also badly affected. We have lost most of our workshops and our manufacturing capacity is running at 10% until we can make emergency repairs, which would bring it to about 30% in 2 weeks of repair." Another board member gave his report. "Not as many as the shinobi, but there have also been many civilian deaths, many of them skilled workers and important parts of our administrative and economic system. Half of our companies are closed."

Another civilian councilman reported on the damage to infrastructure. "Thousands of houses were destroyed. The academy and hospital were also severely damaged. The village walls were surprisingly undamaged, but the damage to our roads, water and electricity systems, and infrastructure in general is honestly catastrophic. I would estimate the damage at around 300 billion Ryo at least."

Shikaku added to the depressing report. "With many of our shinobi dead and injured, our ability to carry out missions will be reduced to about 70% of what we can normally do."

"Unacceptable, we must present a strong face to the world." Hiruzen told the council.

"We can't afford to look weak or the other villages might attack the village while we are vulnerable. Besides, we need the income from the missions to repair and rebuild our village. Missions must be carried out with equal capacity. The rest period in between missions will be reduced for the time being. Any retired Jōnin and Chūnin who are still capable should be "encouraged" to come out of retirement. All available Genin will only receive missions related to rebuilding the village".

The council nodded in agreement. They could not appear weak at this point and they needed every last Ryo they could get their hands on, and even more. The shinobi would have to resist for the sake of their people.

"Hokage-sama," asked a councilman. "Even if we use all the money from the emergency funds and even empty our treasury, AND receive generous donations from every clan. People will still sleep in makeshift tents without running water and electricity for at least a year before we can provide new homes for them."

Hiruzen massaged his temples as the unmistakable sensation of a headache came over him. The town was, simply put, in the shit. Closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose as he thought of a way to fix everything.

"What happened to the Kyūbi, Hiruzen?" asked Danzó causing Hiruzen's headache to increase.

"The Kyūbi is dead, Minato-Sama killed him" stated one of the civilian councilmen. "The Kyūbi just like any Bijū is a mass of chakra that was given a body and a consciousness, the Bijū are understandably difficult to assassinate if not impossible." Was Danzo's quick response.

Sarutobi sighed as he saw everyone's attention on him, it was at times like this that he really adored Danzo "Minato-kun split the Kyūbi before sealing it, weakening the beast and preventing it from being a threat to the village" Hiruzen hoped that this way Danzo would lose any interest he had in the fate of the Kyūbi.

"Where or should I say on whom the Kyūbi seal" of course Danzo would not stop that would persuade him to get his hands on what he respects, are the new hosts.

Sighing for what seemed like the above time that I dreamed Hiruzen replied "In a pair of twins, they were born yesterday during the attack to later be used by Minato-kun in the sealing, unfortunately the twins were orphaned like many other children the previous night.

"We must do something to prevent that demon from having any chance of attacking us in the future." "The Yondaime weakened it, we must finish off the demon." "If we don't kill the Demons we could be attacked by two of those 'things', even if the Yondaime weakened it by splitting it now there are two of them." "That Demon killed many of us, we must kill it to return the favor." Those and many more comments filled the council hall causing the Sandaime's anger to flare.

Both civilians and shinobi had suffered terrible losses, and fears and madness over their loss clouded their judgment. The shinobi side of the council was better able to keep their cool, but they had seen the power of the Kyūbi, which prompted many of them to make their own hurtful suggestions fearing the worst. Each assumed that the losses they suffered were greater than the rest and despised the idea that these children would get away with the whole affair, momentarily forgetting that these children had already lost their parents and did not choose to bear such a burden.

The killer instinct quickly filled the room, causing the civilians to fall to the floor and the clan leaders to be pinned in their seats. Danzo actually felt a bit of fear as he found himself unable to overcome the murderous intent of his former friend, though this he would never confess to anyone.

"SILENCE" the Sandaime's voice boomed throughout the room "The mother of those children was the person responsible for restraining the Kyūbi even when only a few hours before she just gave birth to her children. She had to witness how her two sons were turned into Jinchurikis 'and Pseudo-Jinchuriki'." whispered a voice in Hiruzen's head that he ignored for the moment.

"I was an eyewitness to how that woman, even after receiving a wound that should have killed her instantly, clung to her life with willpower alone and allowed Minato to be able to complete the sealing, even after completing the seal she had the strength to crawl to a tree to use it for support and embrace her children for several minutes before allowing death to claim her. Not only that, I must remind you of the sacrifice Yondaime made by giving his life to perform the jutsu responsible for dividing and subsequently sealing the Kyūbi even knowing that said Jutsu would kill him and you want to spit on the sacrifice of the two" the kage's hands were shaking from the anger and disappointment he felt at that moment for the village's ruling body.

"Now, if no one has a suggestion that has nothing to do with the death of the children, the identity of the children will be kept secret and this subject will not be mentioned again" Hiruzen finished saying as he withdrew his murderous intent, allowing the civilians to sit back down and the shinobi to relax.

While the clan leaders and civilians were looking for a suggestion that would not put them on the bad side of their Kage, a certain "crippled" counselor had other thoughts on his mind and was quick to make his opinion known.

"I will take care of the children" a calm but firm voice was heard in the silence of the room that followed their kage's demonstration of will go. "I will take charge of the children's upbringing and training" turning in the direction of the voice, everyone saw Danzo.

"Only in your dreams would I allow you to take care of them, I will not allow you to turn them into weapons that answer only to you" Sarutobi quickly replied to dismiss the idea.

"Weapons, shields, deterrents, call them whatever you feel best Hiruzen, but the moment they became Jinchuriki they stopped being mere children and became the best military asset in the village. Suna, Kiri, Iwa, Kumo and even Taki have used their Jinchuriki as the weapons and deterrents they are, but you really expect Konoha not to" Danzo pointed out.

"What good did it do them to use them as weapons? Have they won any of the last 3 wars? Konoha has never needed to use a Jinchuriki to prove their superiority" was Hiruzen's quick argument.

"Konoha has never been as dibil as it is now, in a single night we went from being the strongest of nations to a shadow of what we were. Konoha needs the strength of all its available assets and these children will be great assets if they are trained properly" Danzo pointed out again.

The civilians agreed with Danzo's arguments and the shinobi had to reluctantly accept that he was right. "Don't think we are ignorant of how you train your subordinates, Danzo. The training methods you use will be more detrimental to a case like children, who will need to learn to be in tune with their emotions. No, they will grow up as normal children, not a weapon." The Sandaime refused Danzo's "offer".

"Stop being so blind Hiruzen" the old war hawk replied with a hint of anger in his voice "Those children are village weapons and will be used as such whether you like it or not. Konoha needs the power of the Bijū within them to stay on top and..." Danzo's words were counted as he went from sitting to finding his back pressed against the wall of the room in a matter of a blink, thanks to the angry Sandaime who had clutched at his throat with anger so clear in his eyes to let Danzo know that he had crossed the line.

"One more word, just one more damn word and I'll break your neck do you understand?" hissed Hiruzen who did not look away from the one eye of the one who was his best friend in his younger years.

In the absence of a verbal response from his old friend the Kage made the grip on the latter's throat tighter "I am asking for the last time, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" shouted Hiruzen the last part accompanying the question with the full force of his murderous intent directed only at Danzo, even so that intent filtered through to the rest of the occupants of the room causing the civilians to fall to the floor, struggling for breath and the clan leaders to begin breathing with great difficulty.

"H-Ha-Hay" his voice was less than a whisper, but it was loud enough for Hiruzen to sniff and release him from his grip, Taking large gulps of air he shot a glare at the Sandaime who was still glaring at him with anger in his eyes.

After calming his murderous intent a great silence hovered over the room, giving them a moment for everyone to recover ( especially the civilians who had fainted) Sarutobi spoke again "Since no one has suggested anything suitable, the children will be raised in the orphanage and it will be up to them to become shinobi or not" he stated firmly before turning in the direction of the exit "I am ending this meeting, you may leave" he finished saying to leave the room without giving a second glance to anyone.

Upon arriving at his office, Hiruzen felt the ANBU that were still there taking care of the children, as he approached the crib he noticed that they were awake and while Naruto looked at him and the surroundings with the infantile curiosity that characterizes any baby, Kagami's eyes surprised him, just as Naruto was looking at everything around him but his eyes seemed to reflect caution, as if he was looking for something that could hurt him, Hiruzen's surprise increased when Kagami's eyes fell on him and he moved his small hand to grab Naruto's as if he decided that Sarutobi could mug them and he would defend his brother from him.

Ignoring this as paranoia from the mental stress he was put under by the events of the last 24 hours, Hiruzen took a seat at his desk and proceeded to fill out the necessary paperwork to admit the children to the orphanage before proceeding with the paperwork.

Little did he know that one of those children would bring about a great change in the shinobi world by reminding them why no one should make an Uzumaki angry.
