Chapter 6: Merlin, he can fly

Sorry I haven't replied yet, we went to the world cup. And I had left my owl at home.

I was supporting the Netherlands, and it was super exciting so basically, it was super close they went on for 4 hours but in the end, the Dutch seeker found the snitch first. What did you do?

And I have decided to try out for the quidditch team, are you also going to try?

Hey Devin,

No worries, but you could've told me you were going to the world cup, Were there really reindeer and cheeses, did those Americans have a big stadium? Told you that the Dutch would win.

I went to visit my gran in Scotland we went to visit mire worthkeep. It is the biggest magical castle in Britain even bigger than Hogwarts. I also went to visit Roger when he finally came back from south africa. He looks a orange he tanned a little bit too much it looks hideous.

About the tryout thing, you finally decided to try out great we can play together, my father has bought me a Nimbus 1968, trust me when I say that it is way better than those school brooms.

Devin and Tim entered Gringotts walking thru the waterfall.

"We're here to withdraw from the black vault," Tim said to the aggressively looking goblin.

"Is Mr. Black here"

"Yes right over here"

"Do you have your key"

"Uh, yes right here," Tim said taking a key from his breast pocket.

"Good please follow me"

They followed the goblin into a dark tunnel, that led to a railroad.

"Please wait here you will be picked up in a minute"

The screeching blasted in their ears as they rode along a cart with a goblin. They took a sharp right, and then they plummeted right down into the depths of the earth. If Devin hadn't known that they were in Gringotts he would have thought that he was in a theme park.

Devin almost flew out of his seat as the suddenly stopped.

"Here we are," the goblin said "key?"

Tim handed him the key to his vault. And the goblin put the key into a small gap.

'Click' The vault opened slowly and sounded like it hadn't been opened in decades.

The vault was filled with meters of gold, it looked like they dumbed the entire British gold reserves into his vault.

"Wow," Devin said to himself. As he filed his gold bag.

"Hello we would like to buy a broom"

"Okay for the boy I presume"

"Yes"

"For quidditch"

"Yes"

"Then I would recommend the Nimbus series in particular the Nimbus 1999"

"Well take it," Tim said smiling at Devin

As the devins second year, he and Roger had to cope with the company of rose sands who seemed to have a thing for Cedric. But Devin simply didn't care he had to focus on the upcoming quidditch tryouts, which were this weekend.

When the morning of the tryouts came, Cedric and Devin walked to the quidditch field with brooms.

"I can't believe you bought a Nimbus 1999"

"It came from the family vault and some birthday money" Devin explained

"Are you here for the try out"

"Yes"

"Which position"

"Chaser," the boys said together.

"Pease gathers yourself at the far left of the field," the boy said pointing at the area in front of the rings.

As they waited for the tryouts to begin they were joined by about 9 other people who all hoped the same, to become Ravenclaw chasers.

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen were first going to do a lap around the field and well land here once again, go"

Devin mounted his broom and pointed it towards the sky and he was off quickly taking the lead he was followed by Cedric, however, this meant nothing half of the people were on school brooms which were slower.

They quickly flew over the stadium and the commentator box, Devin did a small slalom thru the rings and returned to the starting point. As he looked behind he saw that 3 people a either crashed into the ground or couldn't fly a broom and had given up, so there were only 6 people left.

"Okay we're going to put you thru some drills to see how good you are, no questions," she said without waiting for a reply "Make pairs and pass the ball between you and your partner.

Cedric and Devin teamed up and quickly passed the ball between themselves.

Devin looked to the girl who was taking notes and looked up at a pair that struggled to pass the ball between them and shook her head

"Okay please return all the balls to the ground we're doing a finishing drill, and our keeper will be defending against these shots you each get ten shots, your first," she said throwing a ball to a third-year student, who proceeded to miss each shot

"Next" gesturing to a fifth-year girl, who scored a respectable 6 out of 10

"Next," she said to a third-year boy with black hair who had the best score yet of 8

"Next" she threw the to Cedric who caught the ball and stormed at goal doing a lob over the keeper next ball he smashed in the corner and the next couple of balls he also brought them thru the ring and scored, the last was different Cedric decided to go for a different approach but when he threw the ball just flew past the keeper who pushed the ball away. 9 out of 10.

Devin caught the ball and decided to fly high and then dive to the ground hopefully triking the keeper. As he shot into the sky he saw the goalkeeper looking questionable but decide to also hover a bit to the sky. And when Devin was close enough Devin went for the dive and quickly had a shot at an open goal and scored thru the mid-ring.

Next ball he decided to try from a distance which he threw from 30 meters right into the left ring leaving the keeper chanceless. He then proceeded to score the next 8 tries. Leaving with the perfect score.

"Black and Diggory you've got the job," she said to the boys smiling "The training schedule will be given to you tomorrow," she said walking leaving behind an angry third-year who scowled at Devin and Cedric and walked away.

So there you have it a new chapter, make sure to leave a review. I will be posting a new chapter tomorrow. I just got Hogwarts Legacy and I can say it is an amazing game even without Quidditch.
