Came up with this after binging Danny Phantom, another fanfic on the way soon. And yes, this is a DannyxEmber fic, but don't worry. Danny and Sam had a mutual breakup before and are still friends. Hope you enjoy.
Darkness and Light, Into the Chaos!
Running late
In Amity Park, a girl waited by the side of the road. One thing to note was that she wasn't a typical girl. This was the resident ghost rocker, Ember McLain. Her flaming blue hair flickering in the breeze as she waited. Why you ask? Simply because she had a date, and this is where she was asked to meet.
Still….. Ember checked the time and winced. 7:30. Her date was supposed to be here a half hour ago. But….it was fine. He was probably just running late.
Or he isn't coming. The treacherous voice in her mind whispered. Not like it wouldn't be the first time.
Ember shook her head. That isn't it. He wouldn't do that to her.
Like Micheal didn't? You stood there all night. The voice taunted, making Ember wince as she remembered the night before she died.
But this was different. He's different from Micheal. He wouldn't stand her up. He was just running late.
Another ten minutes pass, and Ember starts to lose hope. But just as the tears threaten to spill, she hears a familiar voice call out. "Ember!" Running up the street before coming to a stop in front of her was a black haired teen that was clearly out of breath. "I'm so sorry I'm late! I forgot my wallet so I had to double back, then Skulker ambushed me and…" he tried to explain.
"Cool it Baby-pop." Ember said with an eye roll. "You're here now, and you're gonna make it up to me, right?"
"Absolutely!" the boy replied resolutely.
"Then come on. The movie's gonna start soon." she ordered, turning so Danny couldn't see her relieved smile.
Honestly, the halfa had expected threats and maybe violence for being late to his date with the rocker ghost, but it seemed he dodged a bullet as he followed her and paid for the tickets and popcorn. Honestly, how he had managed to score a date with Ember of all people confused him, even after she had broken up with her neglectful ex boyfriend, but he couldn't complain. He had always kinda liked her when they weren't at each other's throats. Which happened a lot less since Ember stopped using hypnosis and just sang her heart out, rapidly climbing the charts.
Still, things weren't always sunshine and rainbows between them. Sam was constantly jealous and Ember got a kick out of messing with the goth. Tucker was incredibly envious that he was dating Ember FREAKING McLain. His parents and sister were a little worried considering she was one of his enemies once upon a time. But as they sat down and watched the previews to the movie, Danny figured they would get there eventually and focused on spending time with his girlfriend.
As for Ember, she just enjoyed Danny's company and the somewhat trashy horror movie he had agreed to take her to, glad the ghost boy hadn't stood her up.
He was just running late.
