When I was a kid, I loved watching all kinds of superhero shows on TV. Not to mention reading "The Good Witch Azura" series. They were mostly fun and pretty tame, but once the hero asked, "Do you know what true happiness is?"
As the narration continued, in a small room, a girl was sitting in her chair before grabbing her skateboard and using it to slide down a ramp.
She said she hated that her life might end before she knew the answer to that question and that we were basically lost because no one really knows the truth. I thought, "Well that's messed up, you want kids to go that deep before they're even in school?"
The girl continued skating down the road, performing a jump on the way, before turning and grabbing onto a truck. The girl had tan skin and curly hair. She wore baggy green pants and a white and purple hoodie with cat ears underneath a jacket she got from a friend with red and white sneakers that had a star design on each side. Finally she also had a red beanie with a Bi and eye pins.
Is happiness being rich?
Elsewhere a briefcase of money was presented to a male-looking non-binary character with tan skin who wore a white button up shirt with glasses who smiled with his skateboard next to him.
Hooking up with hot girls?
Elsewhere again, a dark skinned man with a goatee and his hair in a bun was kissing two women near a bar who also had a board.
Getting into the best schools?
Elsewhere once more, a brown-skinned kid with dark hair was studying in his room while moving his skateboard beneath his feet.
Climbing up social ladders?
Finally, we see a man with brown hair at his desk while his assistant checks his locker and reveals his skateboard. On the outside of his office space was a poster of him in a suit.
The same girl continued skating through the streets performing tricks along the way
I'm sure that's what a bunch of people want in life, but that's not exactly what gets me going.
And I gotta say, glad I figured that out early
The girl smiled before jumping over a wall as the light from a street lamp illuminated her face revealing her brown eyes and a scar over her left eyebrow as she laughed.
She took off her beanie as she landed, almost stumbling off, before regaining her footing and continuing forward.
In a car, a small black fox cub (or puppy if you guys prefer it) with gray fur on its tail and yellow eyes whose name was "King" on his collar was alerted to a noise as he perked its head up. The driver meanwhile was yawning at the wheel as the person she expected had finally shown up.
The woman had pale skin and orange hair tied in a ponytail with streaks of gray alongside two gold earrings while also having two different colored eyes, one orange and one gray. She also wore a red dress with ripped sleeves and a ripped maroon hem.
"You're late Luz." she said tiredly as she put her seatbelt on
The girl named Luz sat in the front seat as the fox moved in between them
"Sorry Eda." Luz said while doing the same.
The driver named Eda started the car and the two drove off to their destination. Where they went, there were plenty of other skaters like Luz all wearing different outfits, skating, and hanging out in general. It was an underground skateboard ring.
Eda honked the car horn to get people to move out the way as they skated past her
"Geez someone's gonna get hurt." she said
"Seems like a typical night to me. Besides, you live for this kind of stuff don't you?" Luz said while looking out the window.
"Yeah you got a point there." Eda retorted.
As they pulled up, a challenger stood at the starting line, a young man not too much older than her who wore an ivory-colored hooded cloak with a golden triangle clasp. Under the cloak was a golden-yellow tunic with darker sleeves and a dark brown belt, black leggings, dark brown gloves, and boots. He wore a golden pauldron on his left shoulder and a pointed two-faceted mask with a thin eye-slot across it. Underneath his tunic, he had a blueish-gray shirt and golden chest armor with brown straps.
At the moment his mask was uncovered and his hood was down showing his face. He has a fair complexion, a slightly hooked nose, brown eyes, thick black eyebrows, a gap between his front teeth, and ash-blond hair that is shaved below the top, with a long, jagged forelock.
"You were smart to run away last time, Noceda." he said.
"Take back what you said Cardinal! You're gonna regret dissing me!" Luz said with a glare.
Everyone around them cheered because they knew it only meant one thing…
"It's Beef Time!" someone yelled
The sirens around the area started blaring causing everyone to move out of the way as the racers prepared. A bodyguard held his hand up as he spoke through the comms.
"Are we good?" he asked two others on the line
"All clear"
"Ready here."
Luz stared at Cardinal who taunted her by doing a neck slice with his thumb and making a death rattle before putting his mask and hood back on. Luz looked beyond him however and looked at Eda whom watched this from the sidelines with her fox pet King as she stared back at her
"Don't let him get to you kid." she said.
Luz nodded seemingly understanding despite not hearing her. The stoplight above them started going down from red and once it blared green a woman signaled the race to begin and the skaters took off.
They made a turn to the left around one bend then to the right around another while lightly touching the ground. Cardinal was ahead with Luz close behind but not catching up.
"Might wanna start moving if you're trying to catch up! C'mon give me a fight at least!" Cardinal said.
"*gasp* maldito! He thinks I suck!" Luz said in anger.
Despite this taunt, she slowly started to catch up to her opponent.
(almost there. Just a little faster Noceda). She thought to herself
The two drifted around another bend and this time around, Luz managed to get in front of him, much to Cardinal's anger.
"Is that so? Well go on ahead." he said whilst holding fireworks in his hands.
"Haemanthus Bomb!" he shouted as he threw them
The fireworks exploded under Luz's skateboard causing her to lose balance and causing her to crash into a group of racers off the course.
"The Golden Guard of the "S" community wins!" the announcer declared.
Cardinal removed his mask and did a victory pose. Eda, watching this, sighed and put her hand on her head in annoyance. Meanwhile, a girl in the audience with her hood up watched the victory and gave a small smile before leaving. Though her face could not be seen, she had very noticeable glasses.
On the road
In a small purple Suv, there was a family driving to their new home. In it was a father named Alador Blight whom had Brown hair and a slightly disheveled look, two of his kids who were sleeping in the back who looked identical with green hair, and finally his youngest, who had pink hair with brown roots who simply looked off in the distant in the passenger's seat with a melancholic look in her eyes.
Noticing this, he decided to get her attention.
"Something wrong Mittens?" he asked.
"Hmm? No. it's just weird not seeing snow everywhere." She said.
"Are you starting to have second thoughts about moving out here?" he asked.
"...I'm fine, dad." she said.

AN: It has been a MINUTE since I uploaded something and I apologize for that. I am going to continue with Amphibian Hearts believe me, but I'm sorry to say that Part 2 of Great Minds will have to be delayed, because I cannot for the life of me figure it out, so we're gonna continue with Sora's side of things starting with Hop Pop and Lock/Hop Popular.
In the meantime though, enjoy this little thing. Owl House has officially ended, and with it comes the end of an era for Disney channel. This show and Amphibia have changed so many lives over the course of their runtimes and even though both got screwed over on occasion, their creators were still able to tell worthwhile stories and end things in the perfect place like when they began, which is masterful.
I could talk all day about these shows, but for now let's talk about this. So fun fact, this idea was actually in the works for over a year. I constantly thought about doing this story because I loved Sk8 and thought its vibe would work with Owl House, but I couldn't decide on what it was gonna be like.
Then I read a little fanfic on AO3 called, "Bullet Train to Bonesborough" where it was the Owl House characters in the movie "Bullet Train" and somehow it reinspired me to do this story (crazy right?). Regardless, now I finally got the characters down and will be changing certain things from Sk8 to fit Owl House's appeal, not everything mind you, but I'll explain it when we get to Chapter 1
