"I knew it," Karin laughed, "I knew there was something more going on between you and your student."

Sasuke stood up, his expression hardening. "Ms. Uzumaki," he began, but he was interrupted by his mother.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" Mikoto asked.

Karin's expression faltered for a moment as she realized that Sasuke's mother was standing right beside her. "Oh, I'm Karin Uzumaki. I work with Sasuke at the university," she said, trying to sound confident.

Mikoto raised an eyebrow, looking unimpressed. "And what business do you have with my son and his wife?" she asked, emphasizing the last word.

Karin's eyes widened in surprise as she realized that Hinata was Sasuke's wife. "Wife?" she repeated incredulously. "You're married to one of your students? I'm going to report this to the university!"

Mikoto's eyes narrowed, and her expression turned cold. "I don't think you understand the situation here, Ms. Uzumaki," she said, her voice sharp and icy. "My son is a responsible adult who is perfectly capable of making his own decisions. And as for Hinata, she is a smart, talented young woman who has worked hard to get where she is today. I don't appreciate your insinuations or your threats, and I suggest that you keep your opinions to yourself in the future."

Karen's mouth hung open in shock as Mikoto put her in her place. She had never been spoken to so harshly before, and it left her feeling small and insignificant. She tried to say something, but the words caught in her throat, and she found herself at a loss for words.

Sasuke placed a comforting hand on Hinata's back, silently letting her know that he was there for her. He knew how much she had struggled to get to where she was today, and he wasn't about to let anyone belittle her accomplishments.

Mikoto turned to Sasuke, her expression softening. "Don't worry about her, Sasuke. She's just a crazy woman with nothing better to do than stir up trouble," she said, her voice gentle.

Sasuke nodded, feeling relieved. He knew that his mother had a way of putting people in their place, and he was grateful for her support.

Hinata smiled gratefully at Mikoto, feeling a sense of warmth and acceptance emanating from the older woman. She had always been nervous about meeting Sasuke's parents, but Mikoto's kindness had put her at ease.

As Karin walked away, muttering under her breath, Hinata couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She realized that some people would never be happy, no matter what they had or who they were with. All she could do was focus on her own happiness and let the rest fall into place.

Hinata's worried expression didn't fade as they entered their hotel room for the night. She glanced over at Sasuke, hoping for some reassurance. "What do you think Ms. Uzumaki is going to do now that she knows that we are married?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Sasuke let out a heavy sigh as he placed the bag on the bed. "Hopefully nothing," he replied, sitting down on the bed and running his fingers through his hair. He knew that Karin was unpredictable, and he couldn't predict how she would react to the news of their marriage.

He reached out and took Hinata's hand, pulling her gently towards him. "Don't worry, Hinata," he said softly. "I'll call Itachi to take care of it."

Hinata's eyes widened in surprise. "Itachi, again?" she repeated, confused.

Sasuke nodded. "If Ms. Uzumaki causes any trouble, he'll take care of it," he explained, his voice low.

Hinata looked at Sasuke with a mix of concern and disbelief. She knew that Sasuke's brother was involved in some shady business, but she never imagined that he would resort to violence to solve their problems.

"Sasuke, are you sure that's a good idea?" she asked, biting her lip.

Sasuke nodded, his expression determined. "It's the only option we have," he replied. "I won't let anyone come between us, Hinata. Not even Ms. Uzumaki."

Hinata nodded slowly, still feeling uneasy about the situation. She knew that Sasuke would do anything to protect her, but she didn't want anyone getting hurt because of their relationship.

Itachi picked up the phone on the second ring. "Sasuke, what's up?" he asked, his voice low and gravelly.

Sasuke wasted no time in getting to the point. "Karin knows that Hinata and I are married," he said, his voice tense. "I need you to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid."

Itachi's tone shifted, his voice becoming more serious. "What do you want me to do?" he asked.

Sasuke hesitated for a moment, trying to choose his words carefully. He knew that his brother was involved in some dangerous activities, but he didn't want to implicate himself or Hinata any further.

"Just keep an eye on her," he finally said, his voice low. "Make sure she doesn't try to cause any trouble for us."

Itachi was silent for a moment, and Sasuke could hear the sound of his brother inhaling deeply on the other end of the line. Finally, he spoke. "You know I can't guarantee anything, Sasuke," he said, his voice heavy with warning.

Sasuke gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of frustration. He knew that his brother was right, but he couldn't just sit back and do nothing.

"I understand," he said, his voice tight. "But please, Itachi. Do what you can to keep her away from us."

Itachi sighed heavily on the other end of the line. "Fine," he said, his voice resigned. "I'll do what I can."

Sasuke hung up the phone, feeling a knot of anxiety in his stomach. He knew that relying on his brother's gang connections was risky, but he didn't have any other options. All he could do now was hope that Itachi would keep his word and keep Karin away from them.

As Karin stepped into her house, she was immediately enveloped in darkness. The air felt heavy and suffocating, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't alone. She fumbled with her bags in her hand, trying to find a light switch, but her heart was pounding in her chest, making it hard to focus.

Suddenly, she heard a soft rustling sound coming from the couch in front of her. She froze, her eyes straining to see in the darkness, but she couldn't make out anything. A chill ran down her spine, and she felt a growing sense of unease.

"Who's there?" she called out, her voice shaking slightly.

There was no response, only a deep, unsettling silence. Karin's heart raced as she took a hesitant step forward, her eyes locked on the couch. As she drew closer, she could make out the outline of a figure sitting on it, but it was too dark to see any details.

"Who are you?" she asked again, her voice trembling.

Still, there was no answer, and the figure remained motionless on the couch. Karin's mind raced as she tried to think of what to do. Was it a burglar? A stalker? Or something much more sinister? She didn't know, but one thing was clear: she was not alone, and whatever was on that couch was watching her.

As Karin stepped closer to the couch, her heart racing, the figure suddenly fell over, its limbs twisting into an unnatural position. She gasped, taking a step back, but her curiosity got the better of her, and she reached out to touch the cold, lifeless skin.

Her hand recoiled in shock, and she stumbled backward, her bags clattering to the ground. "What the hell?" she whispered, her eyes wide with horror.

Before she could do anything else, a voice spoke up behind her, causing her to jump in fright. "I see you've found my gift," the voice said, cold and menacing.

Karin spun around, her heart racing as she saw another figure standing by the door, barely visible in the dim light. "Who are you?" she demanded, her voice shaky.

The figure stepped forward, and Karin stumbled back, her foot catching on the edge of the couch. She fell backward onto the dead man, her body trembling with fear. "I-I'm going to call the police!"

The figure's smile turned into a menacing sneer, and he leaned in closer to Karin, making her flinch. "I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "If you report this, not only will you be ruining their lives, but you'll also be incriminating yourself. You see, your fingerprints are all over this...gift of mine."

Karin's eyes widened in horror as she realized what he meant. The dead body on the couch now had her prints all over it, and if she reported it, she would be the first suspect. She swallowed hard, her heart racing with fear and desperation.

"What do you want from me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The figure grinned triumphantly. "Just your silence," he said. "Keep your mouth shut about Sasuke and Hinata, and we'll both come out of this unscathed. But if you breathe a word about what you've seen, I'll make sure you pay the price."

The figure towered over Karin, his eyes narrowed and his hand gripping the duffel bag tightly. "Put the body in here," he said, his voice low and menacing.

Karin's heart pounded in her chest as she stared at the bag, the reality of the situation hitting her like a ton of bricks. She knew that this was not something she could walk away from easily, and the figure's tone made it clear that he would not hesitate to harm her if she refused.

Trembling, Karin reached out and grabbed the dead man's limbs, pulling him towards the bag. She struggled to lift him, but with the figure's help, they managed to stuff the body inside. The weight of the bag was heavy in her hands, and she couldn't shake the feeling of dread that settled in the pit of her stomach.

"Now, remember," the figure said, looming over her once again. "If you breathe a word of this to anyone, I have your fingerprints all over that body. And you know what that means."

Karin shuddered at the implication, her mind racing with the possibilities. She didn't know who this person was or what he was capable of, but she knew that she had to keep her mouth shut if she wanted to stay alive.
