Just as the two of them were lost in their own thoughts, the sound of screeching tires and shattering glass interrupted their peace. Before they knew it, the Bentley was surrounded by a group of masked men, armed to the teeth with guns and knives.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie immediately sprang into action, drawing their own weapons and unleashing a barrage of spells and punches. The car rocked and jolted as the attackers pounded on it from all sides, but Skulduggery and Valkyrie fought back fiercely, determined to protect themselves and their beloved Bentley.

The attackers were relentless, though, and soon Skulduggery and Valkyrie found themselves backed into a corner. Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a group of Dead Men appeared out of nowhere, joining the fight in a flurry of swords and guns.

The tide turned quickly, and soon the attackers were fleeing for their lives. The Bentley was battered and dented, but it had survived the attack.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie looked at each other, breathing heavily, their hearts pounding with adrenaline. "That was close," Valkyrie said, her voice shaky.

Skulduggery nodded, his expression grim. "Too close," he said. "We need to find out who these attackers were and why they targeted us."

As they drove away from the scene of the attack, Skulduggery and Valkyrie knew that their work was never done. There would always be danger and uncertainty in their lives, but they also knew that they had each other to rely on. And with the Dead Men by their side, they would always be ready for whatever came their way.
