Despite their best efforts to find out who the attackers were and why they had targeted them, Skulduggery and Valkyrie were unable to uncover any useful information. Days went by without incident, and they began to believe that the attack had been a one-time occurrence.

But then, just as they were starting to let their guard down, the attackers struck again. This time, they were more prepared and more ruthless than ever before. Skulduggery and Valkyrie fought back fiercely, but the attackers were too many, and too well-armed.

Before they knew it, Skulduggery and Valkyrie were captured, their hands bound behind their backs and their eyes blindfolded. They were thrown into the back of a van, which drove off into the night.

For what seemed like hours, Skulduggery and Valkyrie were bounced around in the back of the van, unable to see where they were going or what was happening to them. They had no idea who had captured them, or what their intentions were.

Eventually, the van came to a stop, and Skulduggery and Valkyrie were roughly pulled out and led into a dark, musty room. Their blindfolds were removed, and they found themselves face to face with their captors.

To their shock, the attackers were none other than a group of rogue sorcerers, led by a powerful warlock who had a personal grudge against Skulduggery and Valkyrie. They had been hired to capture the two of them and deliver them to their employer, who planned to use them for his own nefarious purposes.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie looked at each other, their faces grim. They knew that they were in deep trouble, and that their lives were in grave danger. But they also knew that they had each other, and that as long as they were together, they had a fighting chance.

As they were led away to face an uncertain fate, Skulduggery and Valkyrie promised each other that they would do whatever it took to escape and take down their captors. They were fighters, after all, and they would never give up without a fight.
