The Rocksteady Hero

Chapter 1: Time to Rock

Hello everyone, Kuro no Okami here with another BNHA fanfic. Yeah, I know I have a lot but when inspiration hits, you need to take advantage of it. Now this story will be a bit different. In this tale, there will be no One For All, All For one, or All Might. Instead, the background of the arrival of Quirks will be the same as well as the general storyline but the whole background of All For One and One For All won't be present.

Instead, Japan's Number One hero will be a man who rose out of poverty to become the best hero in Japan so that he can make a world where no one will have to suffer the same way he did. That is who a lot of people look up to. He is an honorable and kind-hearted man that takes a shine to the members of Class 1-A as he becomes their teacher and helps mold them into the heroes of tomorrow.

My main character is a man who was born in America, but he and his family move to Japan to get away from the toxic environment of their old hometown. He similarly encounters Bakugo but unlike Midoriya, he can fight back against Bakugo's bullying due to his strength and Quirk.

So that's the basis of my story and in my mind, I think this will work. There will be more to come so enjoy!

It all began in China. An immense light glowed from a child the minute it was born. After that, more and more people began developing unique and superhuman abilities. This was the birth of Quirks. With the development of these powers, those who sought to create chaos and mayhem began showing, leading to the development of vigilantes. Individuals who took laws into their own hands to keep some manner of peace around.

As violence swarmed and the populace began to become more afraid, the laws that now regulate the powers we use today were formed. As such, these laws gave way to the creation of heroes. Today, the term hero applies to so many that keep the peace in our world and while it is a very glamorous and popular profession, it still has its hardships. Heroes lose their lives just like every other day.

This is my tale.

The tale of how I and my friends become the greatest heroes in the world.

BNHA

East Los Angeles was one of the most dangerous places in California. Even after the emergence of Quirks in society, it was still one of the roughest places in America. With over 80% of the population now having some kind of superhuman abilities, criminals and villains around the world got smarter. Using their Quirks in ways that kept traditional police and law enforcement looking the other way or getting themselves put in the ground.

Sure, East L.A. had its good points. The food, the art, the culture, and a lot of the people who lived there tried their best to live safe and honest lives. But for many, daily life is a struggle.

The sky above the East L. A Barrio was pitch black. No stars in sight. The only light that gave the streets any kind of illumination was the blinking streetlights overhead. People in the Barrio were either in their beds sleeping, balling out to one of the hundred block parties happening on the street corners, or, in the case of one such family, quickly moving all of their meager belongings into their car to get out of their Barrio before anyone saw them.

"Come on boys, we need to hurry! Aiden get the last of the bags in the car! Callan, help your abuela into her seat."

An older woman with long black hair quickly tried to rush her two children and mother into their newly painted blue minivan. The eldest of the two boys grabbed the last of the two heavy suitcases while the youngest had his grandmother hold onto him so he could guide her to the van. After safely getting his grandmother in her seat, Callan joined his brother to get the last of their luggage.

"Okay, that's everything," their mother said closing the trunk of their van, "Now let's get moving. The sooner we're out of the Barrio the better."

Aiden and Callan nodded and were about to join their Abuela in the van along with their mother when they were suddenly blinded by headlights. They blinked the flashes of light out of their eyes and found that they were surrounded by dozens of cars all of whom had their high beams pointed at the family.

One by one, each of the car's drivers stepped out and circled the family. The drivers of each car were your typical Cholo. Each one dressed in baggy clothes, baseball caps, and flannel shirts, and all of them packing major heat. No one made a single move against the family until they were given the order. And that order would come from the one person no one wanted to get on the bad side of.

Said person stepped out of the car that was right in front of the family, taking his time with each step before he stopped a few feet in front of the two young boys. Their mother quickly moved in front of the two boys to act as their shield despite the sheer terror she was feeling course through her body.

The person who stood in front of the family was a man who was a few years older than the boys' mother with tanned skin, short black hair, and dark brown eyes. Dressed in black jeans, white sneakers, a white muscle shirt, and a white and black flannel shirt wrapped around his waist. His entire upper body and neck were covered in tattoos.

The tanned skin man was none other than Roberto Mercer, the boys' uncle and known on the streets as Ghost.

Ghost sighed and shook his head, "I cannot believe what I am seeing. Amy, are you leaving us?"

Amy, whose full name was Amelia, nodded her head, "We are Rob. I am sick of the person that you have become. You are not the kind of person I want around my sons. And…this place has done nothing for us. Even after Quirks were introduced into the world, people like you are still keeping all the people in this part of the world from moving on and doing better with their lives."

Ghost laughed, "Oh please. What you think is terrible, I call keeping to tradition. This is the only thing people like us can do to survive. To keep living day to day."

Amelia grunted, "The way my sons turned out tells otherwise."

Ghost scowled, "Yes, well, it seems you have fully turned them to your side. But it won't matter. Once we get everyone back to the house, things will be better for all of us."

"Like hell you are! We are all leaving this godforsaken Barrio and moving on with our lives. Away from you and everything you are doing to this city!"

Ghost did not like what he was hearing and immediately pulled out the gun he was holding in the small of his back. On that signal, the other members Ghost brought along with him did the same.

"This is your last chance Amy, stay or eat lead."

Ghost was not playing around. He didn't tolerate anyone turning their backs on his empire, even if they were his family. And blood or not, he wasn't afraid to put someone down if the moment arose.

Callan and his brother looked at each other and shared the subtlest of nods. They knew that they wouldn't be able to get out of this situation without causing some chaos and if they wanted to get away with their mother and Abuela safely, they would have to fight back.

It would be difficult for the boys given their young age, but they knew their Quirks were stronger than their uncle and the others in his crew.

Callan went ahead and made the first move. He pulled his mother back and let his older brother catch her. Callan kicked his foot forward, sending a piece of concrete at his uncle's face making him step back and clutch the area where he was hit. Callan took advantage of this and slammed his fist into the concrete beneath them all, creating waves of raised earth that struck against Ghost and his gang. Callen even willed some of the concrete to rise and skewer the cars that they were driving.

Aiden went next and summoned two large fireballs in his hands that he launched at the other cars that were around them. The entire block went up in bright light as the other members of Ghost's gang turned away to keep themselves from getting burned.

"Come on, let's go!"

Hearing Aidan's voice made Callan move faster than he ever had before. Amy followed her sons' words and immediately jumped into their van with the boys following after her.

Amy immediately gunned the engine and took off with her tires screeching on the pavement beneath them. Callan and Aidan slammed the van doors shut, Callan, created a small wave of earth along the sides of the van to block any kind of bullet or projectile that might come their way. Plus, it also got the straggling cars out of their way. Aidan poked his head out the window and launched a stream of fire out of his hands to create a wall of fire to block anyone from coming after them.

Callan knew that their uncle had eyes and ears everywhere, but he never ventured out of the Barrio to places where he knew he could easily be spotted by cops or Pro Heroes. One of those places was the airport, which was where Callan and his family were heading.

Callan and Aidan sat in their seats and fist-bumped each other, all that training and hard work they went through paid off.

Amy smiled at her sons, "Good work boys. With Rob and the rest of his crazy Cholos occupied with the fire and stone, we should be able to get to the airport with no problems."

Aidan scoffed, "Good. The sooner we get out of here the better."

Callan looked over at his Abuela who had been silent the entire time, "Abuela, are you okay?"

She smiled at her youngest grandson, "I'll be okay Mijo. I just hate seeing one of my children become…that."

Amy sighed, "I know Mom, but you did all you could. Rob became the way he is now because of his own choices."

Callan nodded, "And all we can do now is look forward to our new life."

Abuela nodded and Callan sat back in his seat. Aidan placed a hand on his younger brother's head getting a smile out of him. Even though the family was about to take a huge move and leave the States to go to a new country, at least they had each other. And they were going to need to rely on each other if they were going to survive in their new home.

So long East L.A

Hello Musutafu, Japan.

BNHA

(So yeah, that was how my journey officially began. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles and the majority of my childhood was fairly good. Sure, I had my bumps in the road, but I was happy. My mother raised me alongside Abuela, and they took care of me every time I needed it, and my older brother was always at my side whenever I needed a male presence in my life.

If you're wondering where my dad was in all this, don't hold your breath. I was born from a one-night stand and when my old man found out my mom was pregnant, he immediately jumped ship and dipped out on all of us. My mom wasn't all that broken up about it. She knew the kind of man he was, so she was more than happy to raise me on her own.

My older brother's father was a Pro Hero who lost his life in the line of duty. I was happy my older brother had someone so strong and noble in his life while I was glad that I took after my mother more than my father. Funny enough, my Uncle Roberto wasn't always the crazy bastard he was when we left East LA. When I was young, he was a loving and doting uncle, along with his older brother and my eldest uncle Thomas. Thomas left the Barrio as soon as he was able, so I didn't have much contact with him as I did with Uncle Rob. Shortly after I turned 6 and my Quirk started getting stronger, Uncle Rob saw an opportunity to use mine and Aiden's Quirks to his advantage and broke out into the drug game and he did very well.

My mom saw just how much my uncle was damaging our neighborhood and using our Quirks for his gain, so we needed to get out. And thankfully, we did. My mother had a friend that lived in Japan and was more than willing to help us get out of the Barrio and start our new lives while it wasn't easy, we made it work and soon got acclimated to our new lives in Japan.

Mom was able to open a boutique clothing store that became very popular among the citizens of Musutafu and brought in a lot of money. She even worked with a few different support gear companies to help Pro Heroes make their Hero Costumes look good. Yeah, my mom had skill.

My older brother finished school, got his Pro Hero license, and was currently traveling around the world helping anyone and everyone that needed a hero in their lives. He was known as The Blazing Hero: Phoenix. My Abuela was retired so she spent most of her time at home but after about 2 years of living with us she went ahead and moved out and now she lives in a small community of other retired, elderly people.

It's a nice place all things considered and Abuela felt comfortable there.

As for me, well, I only had one thought on my mind after moving to Japan. And that was to become a hero. All my life, I never had anyone that I could call a hero. Pros hardly ever came to the Barrio and a lot of the time, I had to fend for myself on the streets. People like me need someone to believe in. To show them that, Heroes were looking out for the people that grew up in the rougher areas of the world.

If there wasn't going to be someone like that for me when I was growing up, then I would be that person.

The Symbol of Hope for the people that had none.

This is my story. The story of how I and my friends become some of the world's greatest heroes.

And my journey to becoming the world's greatest hero.

It was a beautiful day in the city of Musutafu and like always, I was minding my business as I headed to school. Since my mom worked early in the morning, I was usually the last one to leave.

After an intensive morning workout and a quick breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and headed out onto the streets of Musutafu. The people in my neighborhood knew me since the moment we moved in, so I greeted the familiar faces of my neighbors whom I had come to know over the years. The walk to my school wasn't very far so I just stuck my headphones in my ears and walked at my own pace.

After my family and I moved to Japan 8 years ago, we managed to integrate into our new lives rather easily. Thanks to my mom's friend and my natural love for Asian culture, picking up Japanese was fairly easy for myself and my family but was more difficult for my Abuela since she had only spoken Spanish and English for so many years. She got it but not as quick as the rest of us did. I also decided it would be a good idea to keep myself in shape. Just in case I came across a situation where I needed to throw hands.

My brother began my training when I was around 6 and I kept to the routine he taught me. It was essentially a typical gym workout with pull-ups, push-ups, jump rope, stretches, and things like that which eventually led to my Quirk training and martial arts training. I continued with that even after we moved to Japan and even picked up Muay Thai and Silat as a means of defense.

The effects were very impressive. I gained a decent amount of muscle mass and my fighting abilities had grown stronger than I thought was possible. Other than that, my appearance hadn't changed all that much from when I was a kid. I still had my dark brown skin and ocean-green eyes, but I styled my black hair into a tapered undercut. My mom said that my slightly curly hair was cute on me, so I kept it in a style that was close to it. Going to school was an interesting experience. On my very first day in elementary school I met a… let's just say, unique individual. His name was Bakugo Katsuki. From the first moment we met, I knew that the guy had one serious attitude problem. His entire life people had been telling him how great his Quirk was and what a great hero he would make. As you can expect, all of that went straight to his head and he thought he was God's gift to the world.

Needless to say, I didn't very much care for that ego of his so during our first fight, I knocked him on his ass, and ever since, we never saw eye to eye on anything. Bakugo also didn't like the fact that a foreigner gave him a run for his money when it came to Quirks, fighting, or being heroes. My Quirk was just as strong as his and I had a lot more martial arts training than he did, but I never bragged about it or showed off. I kept myself humble.

Not something the spikey blonde Pomeranian enjoyed. He saw it as though I was looking down on him. Honestly, I didn't care. Bakugo could have the biggest ego in the world, and I couldn't give two shits about it. He would constantly say things like how he would be the next Number 1 Hero and how he would be better than the current Number 1 Hero Pendragon. Hey, if that's what he wanted to do good for him, I would not get in his way if that was his dream.

But other than that, I enjoyed my life in Japan. Even made some cool friends.

As I was walking, I saw a commotion coming from a nearby train track with a large crowd in front of it. I moved closer to get a better look and saw a giant Quirk user with a face that resembled a horse and dressed in some leather biker gear swinging his enormous arms around.

"What in the hell?" I asked as I made it to the front of the crowd.

"This is insane. The guy stole a purse but got cornered so he went giant to get away."

After I heard someone in the crowd say that I just rolled my eyes. Some guys just had too much pride and didn't want to own up to the mistakes that they made. As I suspected, several heroes were already on the scene. I turned my head to see a large, muscular hero in a dark blue suit slamming his fists together right before he caught a falling beam from hitting the ground.

"Death Arms, a hero with a strength-enhancing Quirk. Simple yet effective." I examined. As someone who wanted to be a hero himself, I tended to observe different heroes and their abilities and how I could use them with my powers.

I saw that the Pro Hero Backdraft was using his water manipulation Quirk to create a barrier between the citizens that were observing the whole event going on. It was a good Quirk with a lot of applications, which worked out well for a Hero who volunteered with the local firefighters.

The screaming of several girls brought my attention back to the front just in time to see the up-and-coming Pro Hero Kamui Woods swinging his way through the streets until he managed to get face-to-face with the large villain.

"Huh, Kamui Woods. His Arbor Quirk can extend and separate his wooden limbs in various ways; I wonder if I could use that with my Quirk to give me an extra reach." I said placing a finger on my chin in thought.

An older guy with some star-like protrusions coming off the sides of his head looked towards me and smirked, "Well now, taking notes there kid?"

I smiled at the old man and nodded, "Something like that. My Quirk has a few different applications so I take notes on different heroes to see if I can take their skills and make it my own."

The old man laughed, "Thinking of becoming a hero?"

"Absolutely." I said with a smirk.

"Well good luck kid!" the old man said giving me a thumbs up.

I nodded and laughed. It took me a while to get used to living in Japan but after some time it started to feel like home. And that's what it was to me. Home.

I turned my head back to the fight and saw Kamui Woods standing on top of a nearby train, his wooden arm expanding until it resembled numerous tree branches. Ready to snare the enormous villain he was facing down.

"Pre-Emptive Binding… Lacquered Chain Prison!"

"Canyon Cannon!"

And right before Kamui could launch his attack, another hero, a very large female hero, came crashing onto the scene and landed a hard kick to the giant villain's face. While I was paying attention to the way Kamui Woods had his arm expanded, several of the nearby men already had their cameras out and doing whatever they could to get the perfect shot of the new hero.

"Hi everyone! My name is Mt. Lady, a new hero on the scene making my debut today. Pleased to make your ass-Quaintance!" she said popping her ass out for some emphasis.

"Money shot!"

Just like I expected, after Mt. Lady made her debut, pictures upon pictures were being snapped as she and Kamui Woods stood side by side with the villain they had just captured. Mt. Lady enjoyed the free exposure while Kamui was busy tending to his bruised ego. Hell, even Death Arms felt for the guy and did his best to cheer him up.

I just chuckled and put my notebook away, "Well, I guess everyone has their own thing." I said tightening the dark blue newsboy cap on my head and continuing on my way to school. The day was already looking to be an interesting one.

BNHA

Arriving at school, I headed straight for my seat by the window and made myself comfortable. Bakugo was already there with his feet on his desk like he was the king of the castle and soon enough our day began with our teacher giving us a spiel about what our futures were going to contain and how we needed to be prepared for it.

"Now I'm supposed to give you these handouts so you can all write down what you want to do after you leave middle school…but who am I kidding? You all want to go into the hero course!"

Cries of excitement and numerous Quirks being shown off came after our teacher threw his papers up into the air. I couldn't blame him since he was right. Anyone and everyone wanted to go into the hero course to try and make a name for themselves for some reason or other. Whether it was fame, money, or pride, who knows everyone has their reasons. Just like me.

"Hey, teach, don't lump me in with these extras!"

And as always, a certain spiky blonde-haired Pomeranian had to have some kind of say in this. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his ever-aggravating voice. Ever since our first encounter, Bakugo and I never really got along in anything, and the numerous fights that we had gotten into just proved that.

It also didn't help his ego that he had never beaten me.

Not once.

"I won't be stuck at the bottom with the rest of these rejects!" Bakugo said with the biggest shit-eating grin you have ever seen.

"Hey, that was uncalled for Katsuki!"

Bakugo jumped onto his desk, "Shut up all of you! I'm on a whole different level than the rest of you."

Our teacher looked down at some papers in his hand, "Oh if I remember correctly, you want to go to U.A. High right Bakugo?"

That was when everyone got shocked. Hearing that someone from our small school was planning on applying for the one national hero school that had an incredibly low acceptance rate was something to hear about. In my case, I was planning on doing the same thing, so I wasn't as worried as some of my classmates were. But knowing the kind of person that Bakugo was, he would not be happy when he heard I would be applying as well.

"U.A? The national school? Their acceptance rate is really low!"

"That's exactly why you guys are just extras," Bakugo said with pride, "I aced all the mock tests! I am the only one at this school that could get into UA! I am going to surpass Pendragon and become the Number 1 Hero! My name will go down in history on the top tier of all earners!"

I couldn't keep myself quiet any longer and just let out a deep groan, "Oh get over yourself Bakugo."

All eyes soon turned to me, and Bakugo didn't look happy at all, "Huh?! You say something gravel face?!"

I stood up and walked over to Bakugo who met me face to face, "Look, you got skills that much is obvious. But it takes a lot more than a powerful Quirk to be a good hero."

"Huh?!"

"A good hero uses the powers that they have to protect those that can't protect themselves. If all you want to do is prove how strong you are so you can inflate your ego and get popular, then you might want to think about going into a different profession."

Bakugo growled, gritting his teeth, and from what I could see small sparks and smoke began to flow from the palms of his hands, "Who the hell do you think you are to talk to me like that?! You're nothing but stupid Gaijin that is just a pebble in my way to being the best."

"Bakugo!" our teacher yelled out. The degrading term for foreigners wasn't PC in our school and it even made some of our classmates gasp.

But I just smirked, "This coming from the guy who has never once beaten me in a fight or anything of the sort." I said crossing my arms.

"Bastard!" Bakugo growled ready to launch at me, but I was ready as I summoned a small amount of stone around my hand.

"That's enough you two."

The calm serene voice echoed over our entire classroom, causing both me and Bakugo to stop our eventual confrontation. The sound of heels clapping on the floor made their way over to us and a strikingly beautiful young woman came into our view. She had long blonde hair that fell to her shoulders in elegant curls which complimented her practically flawless pale skin tone and vibrant golden eyes. She had a small waist yet a fit figure which she owed to her vigorous athletic routine. But the main thing that drew practically every male and even some female eyes were the enormous breasts she had that bounced with each step she took.

Her school uniform was the female version with a black and grey plaid skirt, white button-up, and black school jacket that strained against her large chest. She wore white stockings on her legs and black shoes on her feet.

This young lady was Simone Marie Nicolette Auclair. Like me, she was originally born outside of Japan in Paris but moved to the country after her father gained a prominent position at a highly respected support gear company and her mother opened the Japanese branch of her modeling agency. Simone and I had gotten very close over the years due to us being some of the only foreigners in our neighborhood. Simone was quite possibly the closest friend I had in Japan, and I was very lucky to know her. Plus, it was thanks to her that Bakugo and I had fewer confrontations than we could have had.

I sighed, "Simone, I appreciate your input, but I don't think Bakugo and I will see eye to eye on this matter."

Bakugo growled, "Mind your business blondie!"

Simone crossed her arms, "Oh this is very much my business Bakugo-kun. Not only is Callan my friend but I am planning on attending UA as well."

"Huh?!"

Our teacher confirmed, "Oh yeah, that's right. Along with Mercer, Auclair is currently at the top of our class regarding every mock test regarding hero work. Although, Mercer beats her by just a small margin."

I shrugged, "And beating Simone is no easy feat."

Simone giggled while Bakugo just seethed in anger. I guess the guy wasn't happy at the fact that someone was doing better than him when it comes to anything.

Before anything could escalate, we all just sat back down and let our teacher continue with the class. I didn't care about Bakugo's ego but sooner or later he needed to see that if he couldn't get past that ego of his then being a hero was going to be a lot harder than it could be.

BNHA

The school day ended, and I was more than ready to get out of there. While I did understand how important school was, I didn't particularly like spending an entire day at the place. Made me want to fall asleep a lot of the time.

"Oi, rock face."

I sighed and stopped putting my stuff away before looking up to see Bakugo and his two flunkies coming toward me.

I stood up and looked the blonde in the eye, "What do you want now Bakugo?"

He glared at me with his usual look, "I'm only gonna say this once, don't apply to UA."

I laughed, "Are you seriously trying to scare me into not applying? Jeez Bakugo you need to find a new tactic?"

Bakugo growled and grabbed me by my collar, "I'm serious here Gaijin. I'm the only one at this lousy school that's worthy enough to go to UA. I'm a perfectionist and if I want to be the best then I need to be the only person from this place that goes to UA."

I scoffed, "Well, good luck with that you explosive Pomeranian. Simone and I will be going to UA whether you like it or not. So, get used to it."

Bakugo just couldn't stand the fact that someone other than him from our school wanted to go to UA, but he had just had to get used to it because I wasn't planning on changing my goals at all.

I grabbed my stuff and pushed past the three goons, they tried to stop me but due to the history between me and Bakugo, the two goons started sweating the minute their eyes met mine.

"You should get out of my way if you know what's good for you."

The few words I said were enough to make the two goons step off to the side to let me pass but Bakugo had other plans as he grabbed my arm to get me to stop.

"Listen, you rock-faced bastard. Most first-string heroes show potential early on, people look at them and just know that they are destined for greatness. And that's me. Once I leave this garbage school and get into UA people will start talking about me like that. They'll realize that I'm the best. That's not ego, it's just fact."

Bakugo's words made me roll my eyes. He said that it wasn't ego, but I knew it was. That's all he was. I knew Bakugo had skill but due to the way he put himself up on a pedestal, he thought there was no one better than him. Despite the numerous times we threw down, he still had that mindset.

I looked down at the hand on my arm, "You got 5 seconds to remove your hand." I warned.

Bakugo smirked, not at all scared by my warning, and slowly lit his hand on fire. Black smoke soon came wafting off his hand. I could already feel the sleeves of my jacket starting to melt away from the heat of his attack and I didn't like that. I quickly coated my arm in hard rock to prevent Bakugo from injuring my skin. I then turned my wrist around and palm struck his hand down and away from my arm. I then placed my now rock-covered arm against his chest and pushed against Bakugo, sending him flying into the wall behind him.

I released the stone around my arm and glared at Bakugo who turned a furious gaze on me, "Bakugo, you couldn't beat me when we were kids, and you can't beat me now. You're strong, no doubt about it but if you think that being a hero is all about showing how strong you are then you're a blind man. How can you be a good hero if all you do is make the people around you scared?"

Bakugo was grinding his teeth so badly that I swore I could hear the faintest sound of nails on a chalkboard.

"I'm going to UA and I'm going to be a hero. And there's nothing that you can do or say that will stop me."

And with that, I turned and headed out of the classroom to leave Bakugo steaming in his anger.

Maybe I could have handled that better, but Bakugo was someone that I didn't need to pull my punches with. Ever since we were kids he was always striving and pushing himself to make himself better. At times that was a trait that I respected about him but over the years the constant praise that people heaped on him made him overconfident and almost certain that he was better than everyone else.

The thing was, I didn't hate Bakugo. I just felt like he needed to come down off of his pedestal so he could be a good hero. If he could just wrangle in his ego just a bit, then maybe he could be the kind of hero that I thought he could be. But if not, well, I guess I'll just have to do what I can to show him the kind of hero I plan to be.

As I exited the school, I saw Simone leaning against one of the outside walls. Once she saw me, she gave me her trademark smile.

"I take it Bakugo-kun had a few words he wanted to say to you?"

I smirked, "Yeah you could say that," I said giving off a sigh, "I swear, one of these days that ego of his will be the death of him."

Simone giggled and wrapped herself around one of my arms, "Come now mon ami, don't let Bakugo-kun get to you so much. He's just being who he is." She said getting a nod out of myself.

"Come on, let's go check in on Tante Amelia. I have a feeling she might have something for us."

I rolled my eyes as Simone dragged me off the school grounds and in the direction of my mom's store, "You mean for you."

BNHA

It would have been way too long to walk to my mom's store, so Simone and I decided to take the train. We knew the route by heart, so it only took us a few minutes to get to my mom's place. The familiar red, brown, and green building was a constant reminder of just how far my family had come since we all moved to Japan.

Sensational Seasons was my mom's pride and joy. It was a symbol of all her hard work since moving to a new country and how she fought to get a place of her own. The store's name was in bold lettering above the front door, mannequins showcasing styles mom had designed herself along with a few others from some more well-known brands were showcased in the windows in the front, and I could see different men and women coming in and out of the shop.

I was very proud of how far my mom and come and her owning her shop meant I didn't have to go far when it came to new clothes.

Simone and I entered the store, and our eyes were filled with the familiar interior. The right side was filled with men's attire and the left side was filled with women's attire. The small number of employees my mom had mingled around the floor to help customers and my mother was up at the cash register keeping an eye on everything that went down in her home away from home.

My mother was a beautiful woman. She had black hair that cut to her chin, pale skin with a light tan, blue-green eyes, and a curvy figure. She was dressed in a simple pair of black pants with a white button-up shirt and a burgundy suit jacket over it all with black shoes on her feet.

And she wasn't alone. Along with my mother was another equally beautiful woman with long blonde hair that fell past her shoulders in gentle curls and bore a striking resemblance to Simone. She was wearing an elegant green and yellow sundress with a white shawl over her shoulders and a gossamer white sun hat with matching white heels.

This was Simone's mother Claudette.

Simone gasped when she saw her mother in the store, "Mama!"

Claudette turned her head and smiled at her only daughter, "My little sun ray," she said as she and Simone with cheek kiss, "So good to see you. How was school?"

Simone smiled, "About the same as any other day. Nothing special."

"Well just be sure to enjoy the slow days while you still have them my little sun ray," Claudette said before her eyes landed on me, "And Callan, always by my daughter's side."

I shrugged, "Until she decides she's sick of me, I'll be by her side to keep her out of trouble Tante." I said greeting Claudette with the same cheek kissing she did with Simone. As you might expect, when Simone and I began to grow closer, so did our mothers. So, as we grew up side by side, Simone's mother became like an aunt to me and a sister to my mother.

I looked over at my mother who was smiling at us, I went over to her and kissed her cheek, "Hey mama."

"Hi my love," she said giving me a motherly look, "How was school?"

I shrugged, "The usual," I said before jumping up and sitting on the front counter, "Things are getting serious with all of us since we need to start thinking about which high school's we all want to apply to."

My mom chuckled, "And I'm going to assume that you and Simone are still planning on trying out for UA?"

Simone nodded, "Oui Tante. My and Callan's dream hinges on getting into that school."

"Which is why we need to be on our A-game when that time comes."

My mom sighed, "Well, I know that there isn't anything we can say to change your minds just please promise me you'll be careful. And look after each other. I'd feel better if I knew that the two of you were out there looking out for each other."

I smiled at my mom and kissed her head, "You don't have to worry about that mama. When the day comes that Simone and I become heroes, we'll be the best kind of heroes we can be. Just like Aiden and Pendragon."

My mom hugged me once more, clearly happy that I was confident in my abilities to be a hero. After Aiden chose to become a hero, my mom worried a lot. Day after day she constantly worried whether or not he would get killed by a villain or hurt in some kind of accident. But even during his school years his skill and power were evident, his flames were some of the strongest anyone had ever seen. Even the Number 2 Hero Endeavour was envious of his flames.

Now that he was traveling around the world helping people in any and every country he went to, that fear and worry didn't disappear, but Mom trusted him. And so, did I. I knew that being a hero wasn't going to be easy, but I had faith in both my skills and my abilities. I knew that if I kept going at the rate I was and continued to work hard, then I could become the hero I knew I could be.

The bell above the front door rang and it opened to reveal a woman around my mom's age with long burgundy hair and green eyes, a younger woman a few years older than me with the same features but her hair was tied into a ponytail, and two small children that were twins but each had a side pony with one on the right and one on the left with their eyes being bright blue.

Bringing up the rear was a boy my age with short hair that was a mix of burgundy and chestnut brown with blue eyes that seemed more like cerulean than simple blue. He had done some kind of training because he had an athletic, muscular build that I could see even through the dark gray t-shirt he was wearing. In addition to the shirt, he also wore a blue flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows revealing intricate dark tattoos that lined the outside of his forearms and wrists.

He also was carrying numerous shopping bags in his hands and on his shoulders. And given the exhausted look on his face I could tell that he had been the pack mule for the female members that were around him.

The boy groaned, "Guys, seriously? This is like the 12th store we've been to all day!"

The eldest woman looked back at the boy and rolled her eyes, "Stop complaining. You were the one who volunteered since it got you out of school."

"I didn't know you were gonna pull me out just to carry your bags around!"

The woman ignored him as she and the other girls made their way inside. The eldest woman was already talking with my mom to get some ideas for the younger girls while the woman that was a few years older than me talked with Auntie and Simone.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the guy since I am usually in his shoes many times whenever I'm out with the woman in my life.

I jumped off the counter and made my way over to the guy who already had his head hanging down and placed a hand on his shoulder, "You look wrecked."

The boy groaned, "I have been walking around with all four of them and carrying their bags since 8 in the morning!"

I nodded, "I feel your pain, my friend," I said getting him to look at me, "Want a soda?"

"Please!"

BNHA

I led the guy over to a small area with chairs and a table where he could relax for a while. Since I spent a lot of time at the shop, my mom set this area up for anyone that needed to relax while their relatives shopped or chatted with my mom for a custom order or anything along those lines.

My mom also kept a small cooler in the shop's break room that was just for me and kept numerous types of sodas for when I got off school or just needed some time to chill.

I grabbed a few for myself and the other guy before making my way back to the relaxation area. I grabbed a chair of my own and tossed a soda to the guy before sitting down.

He grabbed it right out of the air and downed the entire can in less than a second.

He let out a large sigh before sitting forward, "Man, I needed that."

I chuckled and passed him another before opening one of my own, "Yeah, I feel that. I end up in your shoes a lot of the time whenever my mom, aunt, or my best friend wants to go on a shopping trip." I said gesturing to the girls.

The boy nodded, "Yeah, normally I never do this kind of thing, but it got me out of school for the day and I got to see my mom and sisters happy." He said with a smile.

While I didn't know much about the guy, I could tell just by the way he looked at his family members that he cared deeply about them. And that was something that I could respect in any man.

"The things we do for our family."

"Yep."

We both looked at each other and chuckled, it was weird. I never really had a lot of male friends since most were either scared of me or they tried to get to Simone through me. Plus, since my older brother wasn't around as much, I didn't have any guys in my life I could just kick back and chill with.

I held my soda up, "Callen Mercer."

He clinked his can against mine in cheers, "Akashi Katsuo."

We were about to take another drunk when a huge tremor rocked the entire store making everything around us shake and rattle. The shock took us by such surprise that we both did a massive spit take.

"What the hell was that?!"

Katsuo and I jumped to our feet and immediately went to our family members. His younger sisters were scared as they held onto him for dear life.

"That was no ordinary tremor," I said getting all eyes on me, "That came from an explosion about a block away from here."

Katsuo looked at me, "How can you tell that?"

"My Quirk is cool like that."

Simone went ahead and turned on one of the TVs that were in the shop, and it opened to a news report.

"This is breaking news! A few short moments ago, a massive fire broke out in a nearby alleyway setting an entire street on fire. The cause of the fire appears to be several small explosions."

The camera cut to the alleyway where numerous heroes had arrived to try and contain the scene. From what I could see, a large villain made of sludge was facing off against all of them. Backdraft, Death Arms, Kamui Woods, and Mt. Lady were already there but each was having issues.

I clicked my tongue in annoyance, "Damn, this going good for any of them."

Katsuo nodded, "Yeah, Death Arms and Kamui can't even get close. That fire is too intense for any one person, especially someone with a wood-based Quirk like Kamui."

"Not to mention with the fire raging like that Backdraft has too much on his hands. And Mt. Lady can't even move in such a tight space."

The camera went back to the reporter, "We have just received word that the villain has taken a hostage."

My eyes widened, "A hostage?"

The camera may have been shaky, but I could get a decent image of who the villain had taken, and I could barely believe what I saw. It was the same spiky blonde hair, wild eyes, and sparky hands that I had come to know since childhood.

"Bakugo."

Even Simone was shocked by what she saw. She knew just as well as I did how strong Bakugo was and for him to get taken hostage by such a villain was nothing more than surprising.

Katsuo looked at us, "You know that guy?"

I nodded, "Yeah, we've known each other since we were kids."

Katsuo gave me a hard look, "What kind of man is he?"

Katsuo's older sister looked at him, "What kind of question is that?"

"Let him answer Nee-chan." He said looking at his sister.

I couldn't help but sigh, "He's vulgar, egotistical, a complete glory hound, and is constantly belittling others because he thinks he's the best there is at everything. He even says that he'll be the next Number 1 Hero. Becoming better than Pendragon himself."

With every word I said I could feel all the anger and annoyance I had with Bakugo ever since we were children. Every single day I had to deal with his pompous attitude about how he was better than everyone and how he would be a better hero than the greats that saved people daily.

"And yet, I know he isn't a bad guy. He just has a lot of pride and until I came along, no doubt that he would be a great hero. The funny thing is, I know he can be a great hero he just has to work on his attitude."

I watched the TV as it continued to show Bakugo struggling against the grip of the sludge villain. He used his Quirk any chance he got to set off numerous explosions all around him to try and get the massive, sentient amount of sludge off of him. When he was able to turn his head, I could see it in his eyes.

He was afraid.

Before I knew it, my feet were moving, and I was running out the door. I didn't know why I chose to head towards Bakugo but what I did know was that there was no way in hell I was going to let him die. Thanks to my Quirk, I could sense two other people running along behind me. Already knowing it was Katsuo and Simone following me. With them following me, I knew I could do something for Bakugo.

BNHA

When we all arrived at the scene, it was even more intense than when we saw it on TV. The street was set ablaze with fire and the heroes were at a standstill. None of them could get close to Bakugo with the fires raging all around them and the villain threatening to kill Bakugo without a second thought.

If I was gonna move. It had to be now. I looked at Simone and Katsuo. Simone was poised as ever, ready to strike whenever the moment came, and Katsuo looked like he was ready to take on whatever challenge came his way with the amount of excitement I could see in his eyes.

I smirked and ran forward. Cutting my way through the crowd and running past the heroes who all looked like I was crazy.

"Oi, kid! What the hell are you doing?!" I could hear Death Arms shout at me.

I ignored the calls from the Pro Hero and made my way straight for the sludge villain. I jumped into the air and slammed my fists onto the ground once I landed. A large wave of stone rose from the ground and was sent toward the villain. Once it got near him, it caused him to lose whatever footing it had on the ground and stumble. Since the villain didn't have a physical body, I knew it wouldn't do much but at least it made him loosen his grip on Bakugo.

Once he was tripped up, I swung my hand up and sent several rocks at the villain which harmlessly passed through its liquid-like body. I kept up my assault and continued to summon pieces of stone from the environment to throw at the villain. As I suspected, physical attacks wouldn't have any kind of effect on the creature due to the way his body was, but I had a plan.

Thankfully, my attacks worked well enough to allow Bakugo to struggle free from the villain's grip and be able to breathe again. Now that he could breathe, I could concentrate on my assault.

I summoned more rocks out of the nearby walls and street and shaped them into disks, I made them spin at a rapid speed before throwing them at the sludge villain. The rocks did what I expected they would and sliced through the villain's body. Since he was liquid, his body seemed to repair itself after each attack slashed through his body. Again, it was something that I expected but I had another reason for conducting my attacks the way I did.

The sludge villain laughed, "It's no use! My body is pure liquid! Throwing those rocks won't do anything to me."

I just smirked, "I know. But since you're so ugly, I figure throwing some stuff at you wouldn't hurt."

The villain didn't seem to appreciate the insult and sent numerous long tentacles out at me. I took a deep breath and concentrated my Quirk to focus on my body. My skin soon became covered in hard, grey stone with my face becoming covered by an almost armored face plate of rock. I rarely covered my body completely in stone since the added amount of stone added to my body would weigh me down. So, I only did this when I needed to.

The sludge tentacles hit my body and wrapped around me, but I didn't move an inch.

"What?!"

The sludge villain's shock made me chuckle, "Got you," I said before wrapping my arms around the tentacles to keep them close to me, "Katsuo!"

"On it!"

With me pinning the sludge villain down, Katsuo rushed past me and headed toward the villain. When he got close, he punched the air and released a neon blue shockwave from his fist that shot right through the villain's body which caused him to release Bakugo from his grip. I didn't know what Katsuo's Quirk was, but I trusted him that he knew what he was doing.

With Bakugo released, now we just had to get him away from the villain, "Simone!"

"Oui."

Simone ran up to me and summoned a ring of golden light around her wrist. She flung her arm forward and a long rope of light shot forward from her wrist and latched around Bakugo. She yanked her arm back and pulled Bakugo to safety.

With Bakugo safe, I released some of the stone on my body and shot the stone around my arms toward the villain to get some space for all of us.

Katsuo backflipped and made his way back to us, "Hot damn that was intense. I'm so happy that my waves were able to pass through the villain."

I nodded and swiped my arm in front of me and summoned up a wall of rock to keep us protected, "At least we were able to get Bakugo away from that thing."

Bakugo growled and shot back to his feet, "What the hell are you doing here?! I didn't need your help! I was perfectly fine by myself!"

I rolled my eyes, completely sick of his egotistical attitude. I grabbed him by the front of his shirt and headbutted him right on the forehead.

I released him and he stepped back holding his forehead, "The hell was that for?!"

"Shut up for God's sake," I roared out taking him by surprise, "You think that you could have survived what that villain was putting you through? Like hell, you could! It's like I told you before, if you really think that you can be a good hero with that attitude of yours then you are even stupider than I think."

The villain launched an attack at us that rocked against my rock shield but it held strong, "You keep saying that you want to be the next Number 1 Hero. That you want to be greater than Pendragon. Well, how the Hell are you planning to do that when you're dead?!"

I roared at Bakugo who was too shocked to even answer, "Let me tell you something. You won't become the Number 1 Hero. Because I will," I said looking Bakugo straight in the eye, "And if you think that you can become Number 1 before me, then you better stay alive and keep fighting. Otherwise, why should I even have you as my rival?"

Bakugo looked as if my words were finally getting through to him. After all these years he was finally seeing just how much being a hero meant to me and how I planned to be the best hero around. I always knew he would be a strong hero but if he continued down the path, he was on now then he wouldn't be living up to his potential.

The villain struck against my shield again, this time nearly breaking through it. I needed to produce some kind of strategy otherwise all of us would just be sitting ducks.

My thoughts were interrupted when the thunderous beating of wings sounded through the skies above us. All speaking ceased and nobody dared move because there wasn't a single person in this city nay, this world that didn't know what that sound meant.

We all looked up to see a lone figure flying through the skies. A man with a draconic pair of wings sticking out from his back. One strong flap of his wings created a powerful gust of wind that caused every bit of fire around the alleyway to snuff out. The figure then landed right in front of us with a large thud, creating a small crater when his feet contacted the street.

I dropped my rock shield in front of us, somehow feeling a lot safer than I did before. All of us looked on as the figure rose revealing his full hero costume. A black and grey bodysuit with silver armor covering his chest, arms, and legs. His shoulders were covered by curved pauldrons with dragon designs curling around them and a silver belt with a sword and dragon buckle that had a multicolored gem resting in the center. Sprouting from his back was a set of draconic wings and long black hair flowed down his back that was kept under a silver, black, and green cowl that was made to resemble the head and eyes of a dragon.

This was the Number 1 Hero himself, The Pro Hero: Pendragon.

Pendragon turned slightly to look at us and gave us a smirk, "You have all done well but leave the rest of this to me."

Pendragon turned back around to face the sludge villain who was shaken at the appearance of the hero. Everyone knew just how strong the Number 1 Hero was and having him here gave a lot of peace to those that were among the crowd.

Pendragon clashed his fists together; the eye covers on his mask flashing between yellow and green. His right fist became enveloped in dark green wind while his left fist became engulfed in bright yellow lightning. He brought his fists together, combing both elements into a swirling, lightning-tornado around his right fist.

"Tempest…Smash!"

Pendragon punched forward, sending the tornado toward the sludge villain. The slicing winds and surging lightning captured the villain and sent him spinning into the sky. The wind cut into his body and the lightning weakened him, coursing through his liquid body. Pendragon swung his fist down, the tornado following his movements and slamming the villain into the concrete street below them all.

Pendragon cut the wind and the villain was knocked out. He wasn't going anywhere.

I couldn't believe what I had just seen, it took Simone, Katsuo, and myself to just get Bakugo away from the sludge villain but Pendragon dealt with both the fires around them and the villain in one go.

And the people agreed with his strong the Number 1 Hero was and they soon began to cheer.

"That was amazing!"

"As expected of the Number 1 Hero!"

"He hardly even bats an eye at that villain!"

"We're always safe with Pendragon around!"

The cheers were deafening and strong and while I wasn't cheering along with the crowd, I was just as in awe of the power Pendragon had just displayed. If I wanted to get anywhere near his level then I needed to get stronger.

BNHA

"That was completely reckless!"

I rolled my eyes at the constant belittling my friends and I were getting from Death Arms and Kamui Woods. After everything calmed down, my friends and I walked off to the side to relax a bit but that was short-lived once the pros started reaming into us. Pendragon was standing next to Bakugo as the press soon arrived to get a scoop after what happened.

"Look, it was very brave of you for jumping in there to help your friend, but you shouldn't have put yourself at risk like that." Death Arms said.

Kamui nodded, "It's true. You should have left things to us."

I scoffed and jumped back to my feet, "Oh sure, and if we did that then Bakugo would be dead right now."

The Pros seemed taken aback by the fact that I spoke up, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to let me or my friends be talked down to just because we chose to help.

"I don't care if you think what we did was reckless. We did what we had to do to save a life while the rest of you heroes stood back and did nothing. The fire may have been a hindrance to all of you but isn't putting yourself in danger for the sake of others the basis of being a hero?"

My words were enough to shut everyone up. Heroes weren't used to having someone call them out on what they did wrong. At least to their faces but I didn't care. I was going to be true to myself regardless of whatever people may think. If I had to put myself in harm's way to keep others safe, then that's what I would do.

"And another thing if you're going to be pissed at anybody; be pissed at me. All my friends did was follow my lead. They don't deserve to be criticized just because they followed after me."

Katsuo scoffed and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, "Screw that Callen. I followed you out of my own volition and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I don't jump into a fire headfirst unless I felt like I had to. And I went with my gut, and it turned out to be the right one."

I chuckled and playfully pushed him off me, "Thanks, man. I was happy to have you with me."

Simone sighed, "I swear there are times when I question just what goes through your head Callen but then again, I've stuck by you through a lot worse. It's like I told your mother earlier, I'll be by your side until you decide you no longer need me."

I scoffed, "Yeah, like that'll happen."

Despite everything, it was nice to know that I had friends on which I could rely.

"Death Arms, Kamui, lay off the kids, would you?"

We all turned our heads to see Pendragon coming towards us with Bakugo right beside him, guess the press had their fill with asking their questions.

"These kids did something incredible today. They went out of their way to help a friend of theirs and that is something that should be recognized."

Bakugo scoffed and looked away, "We aren't friends!"

Pendragon raised an eyebrow, "Really?"

I nodded, "He's right Pendragon. We aren't friends. We're rivals."

Bakugo looked at me before stepping right up to my face, "Don't get ahead of yourself rock face. I didn't need your help, so don't think I owe you anything. I will still become the Number 1 Hero and be better than you in every way."

I chuckled and gave Bakugo a look just as intense as his own, "Go ahead and try. But just so you know, every step you take to becoming the next Number 1, I'm going to be right there next to you. Going one step ahead of you with each step you take."

The two of us glared at each other, the fires in both of our eyes raging like a massive inferno. Even if you didn't know the history between us, you could tell just by how were behaving with each other you could tell that neither one of us wanted to lose to the other. The two of us would fight tooth and nail to make it to the Number 1 spot but only one of us could. I was looking forward to seeing which one of us would make it.

Pendragon let out a hearty chuckle at seeing us and placed a large hand on both of our shoulders, "Wow, you two are something else! The fact that the both of you are reaching so high for your futures is admirable. Reminds me of me when I was your age," he said getting us both to look shocked, "Tell me, what are your names?"

"Bakugo Katsuki."

"Callan Mercer."

Pendragon nodded, "Well then boys, I look forward to seeing which one of you will dethrone me."

And with that, Pendragon turned around, spread his wings, and took off into the skies. With the Number 1 Hero gone, everyone soon dispersed and went their separate ways. Now that the drama was over, my friends and I headed back to my mom's shop where hopefully we weren't in too much trouble.

BNHA

Thankfully, we weren't in too much trouble as I thought. Sure, our mothers were worried about us and did scold us for running off the way we did but they were also proud of us for doing what we did. My mom knew of my history with Bakugo, and she was immensely proud of me for helping him. Even if he didn't appreciate it.

All of our mothers decided to treat us to dinner where Simone's father joined us. Uncle Rafael was a happy man with a lean build, pale skin, chestnut brown hair he kept short, and bright blue eyes that were held behind a pair of silver, square-framed glasses. Katsuo lost his father 3 years ago, so his mother was busy raising him and his two younger sisters on her own while his older sister was a university student.

During dinner, I had a chance to ask Katsuo what his Quirk was. His Quirk allowed him to produce shockwaves from any part of his body. He uses his shockwaves in correlation with his martial arts skills so punches, kicks, chops, etc. He could also manipulate the shape of his shockwaves to where they could be simple bursts, large waves, rings, or even spikes. The downside was that if his stamina were low, his shockwaves won't be as strong, and if he overused his Quirk he could suffer from either broken bones or Tachycardia.

His Quirk seemed strong enough to me, he just needed to learn how to use it without hurting himself.

Katsuo also asked about my Quirk and Simone's. Simone's Quirk was what she called Shining Arsenal. She created various objects and weapons out of pure light energy, but her Quirk was entirely dependent on how much solar energy she could absorb during the day. She couldn't absorb any other form of light, so she was weaker at night. But if she could absorb enough of it during the day then she could still fight.

When it came to my Quirk it was fairly straightforward. I could manipulate any form of rock. Whether it was concrete, granite, stone, sand, and gravel. I could shape it any way I could think of and manipulate its structure to where it could be harder or softer and I could even cover my entire body in stone armor. I also had some minor control over plant life and vines but only when there was a lot of natural stone around it.

The night went by with no problems and just all of us enjoying ourselves. It was moments like these that made me love the life I had and remember why I wanted to be a hero. For the good people like my family and my friends' families in the world.

Little did I know that there were going to be a lot of different events coming my way soon.

Two Days Later

Katsuo asked me to meet up with him a friend during the afternoon, but I didn't expect him to be in the middle of a massive brawl with only one other person on his side. Katsuo and his friend were doing well on their own and had nearly finished off their opponents when one of the guys they were fighting against pulled a piece of rock out of the ground and tried to hit Katsuo from behind.

I quickly rushed over, smashed the rock with my fist, and knocked the guy out before he could do anything. I helped Katsuo and his friend finish the group off and found out they were only fighting because the punks were taking advantage of an older guy who ran a small shop in the area.

Thank God for that. I didn't enjoy fighting for no reason.

After that, we all grabbed a bit to eat where I got to meet Katsuo's middle school friend Sameoka Satoshi. He looked like a typical Yanki with dark blue hair that was styled to have the front portion swooshing over the side of his head. His eyes were an electric green and he had a light, muscular build with an olive skin tone. He was dressed in a black school uniform but wore a dark blue leather jacket instead of the regular black jacket.

I was shocked by his appearance but with the way he acted around me and Katsuo, I could tell he was a good guy. He was also incredibly smart. Katsuo told me that Satoshi ranked at the top of their classes and used to be picked on for his intelligence, so he changed his image to be more confident and stronger.

His Quirk allowed him to control all forms of technology that he came in contact with. He used this ability to create various devices, robots, and even weapons and support items which would help him immensely when he tried out for UA like us.

The three of us bonded easily and looked forward to where we can all become heroes.

And it wasn't just the three of us. After Simone joined our little group, she introduced us to Kaori. Kaori was the daughter of two doctors that Simone had bonded with over some time. She was a lovely girl with golden brown hair, amber eyes, and a fit figure, and while she wasn't as busty as Simone was, she was still big which I could appreciate.

Hey, I was still a guy.

Kaori came off as a bit, well, spoiled. Whenever she wanted something, she would get it since she had a lot of money. And I mean, a lot. I mean seriously, you should see the way she dressed and the cars her family owned. Now despite her spoiled nature, she wasn't a bad girl. And she wasn't a diva. She cared deeply for others and wanted nothing more than to help people. A trait she inherited from her parents.

The five of us were an interesting group of young people but we were all connected by one trait and that was to become heroes in our own right. And all of us planned to make that dream come true by trying out for UA.

The first real step in us becoming heroes.
