Luka patiently waited at the entrance to the airfield for 5 minutes.

"We're gonna be late" He muttered.

Luka couldn't bear waiting for Erika, she was usually always on time. Erika is a very disciplined girl, it's quite rare that she's late. Luka thought that there might be an issue with her somewhere. After contemplating for an extra minute, Luka finally decides to go look for her. He starts walking to where the general direction was going.

Luka was clueless on where she was, but in her general direction, there was the Myaschev fountain, a big fountain in an all pedestrian zone. It's very crowded but it has plenty of cafes and nice restaurants around it. She might be there.

On his way to the fountain, the words of Iosef kept circling around in his mind, and he kept contemplating on his decision, for now he's leaning on not to do it, he thinks the idea is absurd and crazy. But deep down he really wants to kick the Yuktobanians, it's a really dick move what they did to his family. But something else is strange as well, he looked around him, usually he's used to this kind of living, but with the tired words of Iosef, he starts to really notice all the details, the trash all around the street wasn't being cleaned, the buildings are quite big chunks of concrete chipping off, and speaking about the buildings they were really depressive, and lifeless, there are many pots to put plants out on the windows but none had any, he isn't sure on the reason why, he doesn't recall them being illegal, probably because the water is too sparse for plants, that would explain why everyone stinks here.

As he arrives at the Myaschev fountain, the water is turned off, it's just a decorated and dirty stone in the way. He looked around at all the restaurants, he mainly focuses on the cafes. He manages to recognize a face, it's that of a friend of Erika, he speedwalks to her, but on the way he sees no sight of Erika.

He arrived at the table, there were 3 girls, so as not to seem like a weirdo, he went up and introduced himself to them.

"Good day. I'm Erika's father, she was with you, right?"

They all nodded back, but one replied

"Yes we were, is everything alright?"

"Yes- I mean no, I would like to ask if you know where she is?"

"Yeah, she went down there. To get back to you since you have to leave early" She pointed in a direction, Luka looked at it was the street he just came from. Shit he thought to himself.

"Okay, thank you for the help" Luka excused, he went to where they pointed, or back where he came from. As he was walking down the street he thought to himself, where could she have gone? He quickly gazed around to find somewhere, nothing could come up to him, he kept walking forward to get more angles of places. Looking back and forth, left and right to find some recognizable silhouette.

Suddenly, to his right he saw an alley. Down the alley were three Yuktobanian soldiers gathered around something, his instinct was to check closer but to not draw any attention. They were armed.

He adjusted his course towards the alley, using the corner to cover his sight. As he got there, he looked down the alley and saw them surrounding what seemed like a girl, she was on the ground. He decided to take the risk and approach the three soldiers.

Getting close enough, he finally recognized the person on the floor, it was Erika. Luka went to his first fatherly instinct.

"Hey! That's my daughter"

The three police officers, they looked back at him, they were young men, they were young, looks like early-mid 20s. They slowly and intimidatingly approached him.

"Civilian, you are not allowed to interfere with YPF (Yuktobanian Police Force) activity, please go away" Said the one in the middle, he had a different patch on his shoulder, Luka isn't familiar with police ranks but he could tell this one has a higher rank.

"You heard me well, I'm her father. I should be notified of her problems"

"You also heard me well, move away from the scene or we will use force if you don't comply" Said the highest ranking again, Luka looked down at their holster, they have stun batons and that's it from what it seems. He couldn't win in a fight, even if they were just one, his body is getting older and he hasn't practiced for a long while

"Dad, help!" Erika cried out, one of the guards immediately walked towards his, unholstered the baton and hit her hard right on the back. She yelled in pain. It was hard for Luka to watch, his instincts were telling him to go in and fight, but he is able to remain in control and not engage, if he did it's game over for both.

"Final warning" The officer said aggressively, as he put his hand on the holster with his stun baton.

Luka tried his hardest to think of something, with the pain he's witnessing the words of Iosef echoed through his mind as he remembered back to the situation, and that's where it hit him, the "Break Free!" text he saw earlier.

"Actually Sir, I think there are much more important duties for you to attend to. At the shopping district uptown, I remember seeing a rebellious text in an alleyway, there were no officers around and I was pressured to get here quickly so I didn't have time to report it. I think you could go over there yourself and take care of the mess."

The officers looked at each other, in doubt. "How can we believe you"

"Cause it's actually there, in between Vladimir Av. and Khrischiv lane, there is an alley with some text. I think you should get rid of it."

The main officer seemed to consider it, the one behind the two over Erika asked "And what about the girl?"

"Don't worry, ill scold her myself on whatever crime or unlawful act she committed"

The officers looked at each other, the main one nodded to them. They calmed down their posture, and the one near the girl moved away. The commanding officer looked back at Luka

"Thank you for your cooperation in teaching this young woman, and reporting extremist propaganda. Together as Yuktobania, comrade" The officers backed off and walked away from the scene.

Luka rushed to Erika and gave her a hug, while checking for wounds, she was at the point of tears, and an afraid face.

"Are you okay?"

Erika nodded as she hugged him tightly.

"Come on then, let's get out of here"

Both stood up and left the alley.

Erika was snuggling into Luka's arms as they walked back to the airfield

"What happened back there?" Luka asked

"I-I don't know what I did wrong, I was walking back and they pushed me into the alley way. And they started kicking me on the ground while laughing. And-and then they joked about sending me to prison. I-I don't know what I was going to do."

Luka was horrified, speechless to the words. Once again the words of Iosef echoed through his mind, she is only 17. The stuff they would've done to her is horrible, and knowing Yuktobania, he'd never see his daughter again. The voice saying that he should join Iosef's cause grew louder and louder.

Luka quickly checked his watch, it was 2:13. They were late for the inspection, they gotta get there fast.
