A Call In The Night

Disclaimer: I never owned Glee.

A/N: I had another story by the same name,

but that was a Puckurt relationship.

This one is a Puckurt friendship.

Chapter 1: Kurt's Call

Noah Puckerman woke up to Kurt Anderson's ringtone on his phone. When he answers the call, he hears Kurt Anderson's panicked voice yell, "Blaine, please! Stop, please! You're hurting me!" Noah was stationed in Washington, DC. He hurriedly dressed and grabbed his keys before running to his truck. He was determined to get to Kurt's house as fast as possible. As Noah drove, he noticed Kurt's daughter, Tracy, running down the road in her underwear. He pulled over and scooped her up before putting her into the truck. Noah continued driving to Kurt's house, getting there within minutes. When he arrived, he noticed the door was open and the screaming had stopped. He cautiously stepped inside, hoping he wasn't too late.

Noah soon rushed into the bedroom and was met with a horrifying sight. Blaine was choking Kurt, who was lying naked on the bed. Kurt's face was swollen, and blood poured from his mouth. Without hesitation, Noah pulled Blaine off of Kurt and beat his face with the same force he had used against Kurt. Kurt lay motionless on the bed, his body limp and battered from the attack. Noah's face was a mask of rage as he continued to hit Blaine, not stopping until Blaine couldn't continue the fight. Then, with Blaine no longer a threat, Noah rushed to Kurt's side and began to tend to his wounds.

Noah quickly removes his shirt and puts it on Kurt before picking him up and heading to the hospital. When Kurt woke up, he could barely see and hear his father, Burt Hummel, yelling at someone, although the ringing in his ear made it difficult for him to understand what was being said. Yet he felt comforted in knowing that his father was there, looking out for him.

Kurt's cries were heartbreaking for Burt to witness. He could feel the guilt radiating from Kurt, and he knew the pain he was feeling. As Kurt's sobs grew more intense, he started to choke, and soon the doctors had to sedate him.

Burt soon sat by his son's bedside, watching him sleep. He looked at Noah and said, "Blaine injured his back last year and has been on pain meds since. A week after he started taking them, he wouldn't let us see Kurt anymore. After you told me about being stationed here, I thought Kurt would run to you. I didn't know things were this bad or that he was in this situation." Burt couldn't help but feel helpless and frustrated, unable to do anything to help Kurt in this situation. He could only hope and pray that things would take a turn for the better soon.

Noah looked at Kurt and said, "Mr. H, I was never in a fight club growing up. My dad was the one beating me up. I looked up to him, but he never cared about us. I'm glad that Sarah never had to go through what I did and never dealt with the abuse I went through. Tracy calls me 'Uncle Hulk' behind Blaine's back, and she's told me that Kurt was in a fight club several times." Soon Tracy is brought in on a gurney and transferred to the other bed in the room before Noah storms out.

An hour later, Burt hears Noah yell, "Blaine did worse to Kurt! Don't believe me?" Soon, Noah stormed in, followed by Blaine's parents, Patrick and Patricia Anderson. Patrick soon blamed Noah for Kurt's bruises and Tracy's injury. He didn't believe that Blaine could hurt Kurt in the least.

Soon Tracy is awake and yells, "Nono didn't hurt us; Papa did, Grandpa Pat! You are so stupid! Nono is Uncle Hulk, dummy! He saved us! I told you for a year that Papa had hurt us! You said I was lying and spanked me every time! Grandpa Pat, how can Nono hurt us when he is overseas with General Young? Huh?"

Patrick looks at Noah as he remembers being on the flight Noah was on yesterday. He knew his friend Mike Young had been overseas for six months, and Noah was part of his squad. He just wanted to blame someone other than Blaine for what happened to Kurt. Soon Burt and Patrick leave to get some coffee, and Patricia tells Noah, "I joined AA after the wedding. I noticed you started not long after I did."

Noah chuckles and says, "A lot of good it did me. My girlfriend Quinn couldn't handle me after five years, and we split when Tracy was born. We've had a lot of one-nighters since, but she refuses to go out with me again. I swear, I wish everybody would give me a break and stop treating me like that loser I was in high school. I know I'm not the greatest guy in the world, but..."

Patricia chuckles as Tracy cuts Noah off, saying, "You are my hero, Nono. If Aunt Queenie can't see you for who you are, She doesn't deserve you, Nono. My Dada Kurt, believes in you, and he was the one who started calling you Uncle Hulk behind Poopy Bland's back. I was calling Grandpa Burt, G' Pa Hulk, behind Poopy Bland's back, and everybody compared you to him behind your back. They still say you are a loser, but your temper and gun collection are why they compare you to Grandpa Burt."

Noah shows Patricia a picture on his phone and says, "I doubt that Burt and Patrick went to get coffee, Patricia. Now, I will visit Poopy Bland and see that Burt doesn't have a heart attack yelling at him." Kurt's stepmother, Carole, enters the room shortly after Noah leaves and sits beside Kurt's bed.

Then Patricia sighs and says, "I'm sorry, Carole."

Carole glares at her and says, "Tell that to Kurt or Tracy, not me, Patricia. You knew what was happening and did nothing to stop it!" Carole looks at Kurt, who is in a medically induced coma, and then she storms into the bathroom to get away from Patricia so she wouldn't fight in front of Tracy.

Meanwhile, in the ICU, Blaine wakes up to see Patrick and Burt by his bed as Noah comes up behind them. Patrick and Burt stay silent, but Noah sighs and says, "You've heard me tell stories about my dad for years, Blaine. Why would you think it was okay to hurt Kurt like that? Mr. H might think the abuse is due to the medications you have been taking, but I remember when you went ballistic on Kurt for talking to another guy. You are so insecure that you would monitor Kurt's Skype calls with me or Mr. H, and we both know that started before your fall. Mr. H probably didn't notice it because he trusted you back then, but I started keeping track of it. You never stood behind him with anyone else unless you noticed I was with whoever he Skyped with. The others only started noticing it after we saw Kurt's first visible bruise, which he forgot to cover up. Quinn told me she used to help Kurt cover up bruises back in high school, and I'm pretty sure the abuse started after your wedding. I'm guessing this was the first time Kurt wouldn't take any more of your abuse, and he sent Tracy to get me."

Then Burt sighs and says, "No, Puck, I sent her to get you. She called me on Blaine's phone after calling you on Kurt's. This wasn't the first time Tracy called me, but it was the first time you were home to save Kurt. I tried to get Kurt to leave Blaine so many times in the last month that I lost count."

Patrick soon leaves without saying a word as they hear Rachel St. James yelling Blaine's name repeatedly. Soon she storms up to Blaine's bedside and yells, "I trusted you! I gave up nine months of my life so you could have Tracy, and this is how you repay me! Kurt and I both made excuses for you for years! Sam had noticed how bad you were getting, and tried to get Kurt to leave you before Tracy was born! Then I learned from Quinn that you convinced her not to get back together with Puck! You made Quinn think Puck would be like his dad and abuse her if they had kids! The truth is, you are the abuser, not Puck! Why, Blaine?"

Blaine looks at Noah and says, "Kurt would threaten to tell him about the abuse every time I hit him. I thought when Puck dumped Quinn He would want to be stationed overseas, not here in Washington close to us."

Noah gets in Blaine's face and says, "Kurt told me about the abuse last week. He used the same excuse I did in high school. He told me he was in a fight club that only meets at night after Tracy is in bed. It wasn't that hard to read between the lines, Blaine. Patricia would tell me at AA about Kurt being in a fight club, your mother, Blaine. But they didn't have to tell me. Like I said, I knew already. Blaine, I got pretty good at spotting the signs of abuse after being an abuse victim myself. Kurt still loves you, Blaine. But you are not the same guy he fell in love with anymore. Kurt knows I am still straight, Blaine. Why don't you?" Soon Blaine pees on himself as Noah smirks.

When they enter Kurt and Tracy's room, Tracy yells, "Nana Carole, forgive Nana Patty now, or I will sing the baby shark song until you do! You saw what Uncle Nono went through and did nothing about it! You are as much to blame for this as she is! Now, hug Nana Patty and tell her you forgive her!"

They didn't see Carole anywhere, and Rachel entered the bathroom to see Carole sitting on the toilet crying. Then Patricia tells the others, "She has been there since you went to see Blaine and hasn't come out since."

Burt chuckles as he tells Tracy, "Squirt, Uncle Hulk made Poopy Bland pee on himself." Then they notice Kurt smiling through his bruises.

Soon Carole exits the bathroom with Rachel and hugs Patricia as she says, "I forgive you," before they sit on either side of Tracy's bed.

Then Patrick whispers to Noah, "I know the truth about your pool cleaning business, Puck. Some of Patricia's friends remembered you. Well, they remembered Puckzilla and the fact that you didn't need Viagra or Burtzilla pills, as Tracy calls them. I heard Burt say something about that the night of Tracy's first birthday. Then, after Tracy called Viagra Burtzilla pills, it wasn't hard to figure out why."

Tracy soon screams, "Grandpa Patrick, gross!" "Stop talking about winkies!"

Noah notices Burt blushing and says, "I know I've only called you Burt since I moved here, but I called you Mr. H around Blaine because of Tracy's nickname for you."

Then Patrick says, "I thought Banner started with a B."

Tracy giggles and says, "Yeah, but Hulk starts with an H, and Hummel rhymes with Pummel. Duh, Grandpa Patrick." Then Noah high-fives Tracy as Rachel leaves.

When Rachel returns, she has papers and tells Noah, "Kurt recently changed his will and made you Tracy's only godparent. Tracy is supposed to return to me if Kurt dies, but he wanted you to be her godfather because of Beth."

Tracy asks, "Aunt Beth is Nono's daughter?"

Then she tells Noah in Hebrew, "Poopy Blend told Aunt Queenie he would hurt Aunt Beth if she told you about the abuse. She wants to be your girlfriend, but thinks Poopy Bland will make good on his threat." Quinn soon comes in dressed as Black Widow and kisses Noah.

Quinn tells Rachel, "Shelby heard about Blaine's plan from Cooper, who was my rebound after I broke up with Puck. If Tracy thinks Puck is Uncle Hulk, I am Auntie Black Widow."

She looks at Burt and says, "Blaine has threatened me since I dated Cooper. He didn't know that I was making records of his threats or that I had been working with the police for the last year. He was just put in the room across the hall, and someone nicknamed Auntie She-Hulk by Tracy is visiting him." Patrick and Patricia then leave after kissing Tracy's cheeks, as Quinn follows them.

Santana soon enters with a photo album Noah hadn't seen in years. She glances at Burt and says, "This is not my picture album, Puck. I found this at the bottom of Kurt's hope chest. I think this is why Blaine was making threats to Quinn." Then a picture falls out, and Noah puts his hands over Tracy's eyes as Burt picks it up.

Tracy then says, "Auntie Tana, your picture album of Nono is under my bed, and Dada only looked at it after he found Nana Elizabeth's. He thought he and Nono were brothers after reading Nana Elizabeth's diary. Nono's dad hurt her when they were still friends. After looking at the winkie pictures, he knew Nono's dad wasn't his dad. I only saw two pictures Dada dropped. Dada was going to burn both picture albums after seeing the pictures, but Papa found them before he could. I was the one that hid yours under the bed in our guest room."

Noah removes his hands as Santana says, "I found both of them, Tracy, and one of mine is missing. I know your papa didn't take it, and it was the only picture of Nono you have seen."

Tracy sighs and says, "I put it in Nana Elizabeth's picture album behind the picture that fell out." Burt opens the album and hands Santana two pictures.

He whispers something to her before she looks at the pictures and says to Noah, "You weren't the only one with a Mohawk in high school, and Kurt's mom called someone else a Mohawked Neanderthal."

She handed Noah the pictures, and he looked back and forth at them. Then he hands Burt one of the pictures and says, "I know that's me, but you might want to keep that to tease Kurt with." Burt puts the picture in his back pocket as Carole shakes her head.

Kurt woke up a week later to Quinn singing an acoustic version of Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga. As Quinn sang, Kurt saw Burt standing behind her, holding Tracy in his arms. Then Noah and Rachel enter the room as Kurt breaks down. Soon Quinn and Rachel leave with Tracy, and Kurt says, "I told him I was going to leave him and take Tracy. Puck, you may not be my stepbrother, but you are still family to me. I saw to it that Tracy has associated you or Dad with The Hulk since she was born. Blaine's abuse was worse after he found some picture albums I had, and I knew you would figure out he was abusing me first. You and Finn always knew if I was having an off day. Even when you were the cause of it." Noah shows Kurt the picture he had of Burt but says nothing.

Chapter 2 will be up soon. I thought the song Hold My Hand was perfect. Because if you'll remember, Kurt sings I Want To Hold Your Hand in the show. Now here Quinn wants him and Noah to lean on her.
