It had taken Morgan some time to get used to sleeping in Jon's apartment. Jon had let him to have the bedroom, while he slept on the sofa; allowing Morgan to have the time and space he needed. It was agreed that they would share the bed when Morgan felt ready to do so. Now that his neck was healed, Morgan had eventually agreed to wear his new collar. It fitted far better than his previous collar.

He had dutifully attended his therapy sessions in order to help him get past several issues he had around certain behaviours. Jon had been given indefinite leave to help support Morgan until he was well enough again to support himself again. Now that Paul and Stephanie were running the company, things had become far more flexible.

Some months into his new living arrangements, Morgan woke that morning feeling rather better than he had in some time. He was grateful for Jon giving him the time and space he needed. He lay there for a while until the need to pee prompted him to get up. The smell of coffee and baked goods also caught Morgan's attention. His stomach rumbled.

Getting out of bed, Morgan made his way out of the bedroom and took himself to the bathroom to freshen up, before dressing and going to the small kitchen. There were croissants, toast and coffee already on the table, along with milk, sugar and things like butter and jam. Jon looked like he was preparing something.

Looking up from what he was doing, Jon smiled and said, "good morning. I hope you like breakfast omelets. Feel free to help yourself to what's already on the table."

Despite his momentary hesitation, hunger got the better of him. Morgan sat and made himself a stack of buttered toast, along with coffee. Despite the therapy and being with Jon now, Morgan still felt it odd to be able to eat whatever he wanted, whenever he could. Jeff had always restricted and controlled what Morgan could have.

Jon was glad to see Morgan devour the toast. At the beginning he had worried that they were going to have to deal with complicated eating disorder issues. But at least it looked like Morgan was willing to eat if there was no pressure put on him. He also appeared to be putting on some weight as well. Hopefully it wouldn't be long until he was well enough to start training again; especially as Morgan had expressed some interest in getting back into the ring. It was going to take some time but now that Morgan was gaining weight in a healthy way, and doing gentle work outs, Jon didn't see why he couldn't eventually.

Once the omelets were cooked, Jon joined Morgan at the table and they happily eat whilst indulging in some casual conversation. It was then that Morgan got up the courage to say what he had been thinking about for a couple of weeks. He wanted to move things along with Jon – the first step being sharing a bed together. With some gentle encouragement from Jon, Morgan finally managed to get the words out.

"Are you sure you want this? I don't want you to feel like you have to just for my sake." Jon wanted to be absolutely certain that Morgan was asking for the right reasons.

Morgan nodded. "Yes, I want us to sleep in the same bed." He was very adamant about it.

Jon couldn't quite believe his ears; but he was delighted to hear it at the same time. Finally, they were able to start moving forward with their relationship. Baby steps, that's what they needed to take. Jon was letting Morgan take the lead and set the pace for how things would move along. Some liked to think that the Dominant was in charge; but Jon always felt submissives had as much right to take control and have their say.

Sat at the kitchen table, Kellie was busy working between her Mac Book laptop and iPad, which was sat on a stand within reaching distance of herself and her laptop. Her mobile phone hadn't stopped ringing for most of the morning. Even though she wasn't an active wrestler, she still did a lot of work behind the scenes. Usually related to recruiting and training new wrestlers coming into the company. She'd been working since early morning. Now it had gone lunchtime and she was showing no signs of slowly down.

Brian entered the kitchen and shook his head. Despite his best attempts to get her to slow down occasionally, Kellie could be borderline workaholic at times. Noticing that Kellie had paused to finish her coffee, he approached and stood behind her seat.

"There really isn't any point in asking you to slow down, is there," he began.

As he gave her a shoulder massage, Kellie rested the back of her head against his torso. Breaking into a grin, she responded, "you know what I'm like. I get so focused that I forget about everything else."

After a pause, Brian asked Kellie if she had eaten anything since breakfast. Sheepishly, she admitted she hadn't and had been essentially been running on coffee. Brian got to work making breakfast burritos and fruit smoothies, whilst cracking his usual quips along the lines of 'what would you do without me.' Kellie was eternally grateful for his presence in her life. She knew she'd be an absolute mess if it wasn't for him. They'd got together when she was young and going through her own issues with drugs. Kellie was pretty certain she would've ruined her entire career – and possibly may have even ended up dead – had they not become an item all those years before.

It hadn't even started out as being all that serious between them. But over time, their relationship had developed into something more. Eventually Kellie had left Canada and moved to Florida to live with Brian. She hadn't looked back. Now here they were, many years later, married and Kellie also 'owned' Brian. They hadn't planned for Joe to join them – if anything they had been perfectly happy with it just being the two of them. But then Joe had arrived at the company, Kellie had laid eyes on him and that was it. Brian had kindly teased Kellie about it, making jokes about how there was now a younger man on the scene, so he would have to 'up his game' to keep her attention.

Determined to enjoy the time away from working, even if it was only for a short time, Kellie shut down her devices so that she wouldn't get distracted whilst eating. Given the chance, Kellie would often eat on the go, rather than taking a proper break from work. Brian enquired as to how things were going with Jon and Morgan. As far as Kellie knew, things were progressing nicely. Morgan was becoming more like his old self again.

Brian wasn't the first one to ask about Morgan's well being that day. During a Zoom call with Paul earlier that day, he had asked after Morgan. Kellie had been half expecting it, especially with Jon and Morgan still being under contract with the company and being on long term leave. Paul was pleased to hear that Morgan was doing well and he was hoping to return to work as soon as he possibly could. Kellie knew that Morgan was getting restless and was wanting to do something with his time.

One day at a time…
