The candle light flickered, the small flame raging with passion.

Sasuke watched the midnight blue haired girl look out into the sky. He soaked in every detail of the girl in front of him. The way she pulled her hair back behind her ear in one smooth graceful movement. A small meaningful smile apparent on her face. Her pale eyes reflecting the sky and sun as she stared intently, her mind wondering off in a small daydream. The light breeze pushing her silky hair in to the air.

Sasuke turned his head directly to stare at her, with big black orbs. The sun light making her silhouette more noticeable and her skin more desirable. Her left hand was still behind her ear, her right hand laying softly onto the railing in front of them. His black hoodie wrapping around her upper body, looking a little too big on her. His Uchiha clan symbol laying proudly on the back of the hoodie. Her black leggings wrapping around her legs tightly but comfortably. Her sneakers fit her feet perfectly, the laces tied neatly and securely, reflecting her need for perfection.

He blinked his eyes before pulling up his phone and snapping a quick picture, with slight shaky hands. The feelings in his body causing his heart to race. He placed his phone back into his jacket pocket before sweeping his eyes upwards back to her face and was once again memorized at the beauty the girl displayed with grace and he exhaled softly.

"Hinata, I love you."

He watched as her eyes widened slowly, her face turning to look at him. The smile on her face growing wider. A pink blush making its way from her neck to her cheeks. Her hands clasping together in front of her slowly before she leaned over, wrapping her arms around the taller frame and burying her head into his chest.

Sasuke's body froze, his arms dangling to the side not sure what to do with them. He wasn't used to such affection or the relationship in general. It was still somewhat of a new development to him.

They had gotten together in November, the autumn leaves had fallen around them as they stood on a small red wooded bridge together. The river flowing below smoothy, some leaves ending up in the water as it flowed.

They only realized they passed each other at the same time towards the end of January. They would just glance at each other as they crossed paths but never interacting, each wearing different school uniforms. They'd make eye contact, Hinata blushing before looking away and scurrying pass him in a hurry, her hands holding onto her bag tightly.

It wasn't until August of that year, did they start to actually talk to each other. She had tripped while in a hurry, falling right into Sasuke's arms who reacted fast enough to catch her. She apologized profusely, bowing her head, muttering a small sorry 'Uchiha-san' under her breath. Her face covered in red.

He looked at her wondering how she knew of him, it wasn't until she stood straight up when their eyes interlocked, did it click. This was the Hyuga Heir. Basically the sister company to his family's company. He didn't say much only shrugging his shoulders and telling her not to worry about it before walking off with his hands in his pockets. Leaving the shorter girl in shambles as she scrambled away.

They saw each other at small company conventions, both being respective heirs to multi-trillion dollar companies. Small conversations here and there, forced by their parents to make connections with each company. That August and September going by without them becoming to acquainted with each other.

It wasn't until the beginning of October did they have small conversations. As they were about to cross each other once more something in him urged to ask how she was doing. So he stopped right in front of her and asked the question. The shorter girl replying in a small stutter but answering nonetheless.

The next day, Hinata bowed in front of him, pushing a small bento box wrapped around in a dark blue cloth in his hands, before rushing out a "I'm in a hurry, Sasuke-san!". He blinked at the box, not bothering to turn around to see the girl running. When he made it back to his school's campus and it was time for lunch. He opened up the box and his eyes widened. It was divided into three sections. One section had slices of tomatoes with light salt sprinkled on top. In the middle was one sandwich divided in half. The last section had rice, filling that little rectangler opening perfectly.

He ate the food, his body becoming warm once the food entered him. His chopsticks moving in rapid motions as he finished the bento box in seconds. The Hyuga girl could cook well. The next day he saw her, he gave back the bento box. She blinked at the box before smiling up at him shyly, "Did you enjoy the food, Sasuke-san?"

He didn't know what to say, he wasn't used to talking to people outside of his friend group which really only consisted of two people. Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno. "Hn." He stated eyes not moving away from hers. She blinked rapidly before the smile grew on her face and preceded to pull out another bento box. He looked at the bento box, this time wrapped in a purple cloth. He took it out of her hands and moved passed her.

That's how it went. Hinata alternating between those two bento boxes and Sasuke asking her random questions when they passed each other. Most of the questions consisting of how she was doing or how she was feeling and those rare times asking of her preferences for certain things. In the middle of November was when Hinata began to place small sticky notes on the wooden lid of the bento box. Notes that consisted of 'How's your day going?' 'Hope you enjoy the food!' 'Good luck on your assignments :)' 'Anything specific you want me to make?'

When he would see her the next morning, he would answer the questions. There was a mutual agreement between the two to wake up earlier so they could have longer conversations. It wasn't even a agreement per say, just something that happened. They would answers each others question, the girl doing more of the talking considering Sasuke wasn't much of a talker. One of those mornings he asked what her favorite drink was. She replied with "in the mornings I enjoy" she smiled "hot chocolate milk with a cinnamon roll."

He nodded. The next morning he walked up to her with a styrofoam cup from The Leaf's Bakery and in his other hand was a cinnamon roll wrapped in a brown napkin. Hinata frowned. "You didn't have too" She started but was cut off when Sasuke placed the items in her hand and took the liberty of taking out his bento box from her backpack as she stood stunned. He let out his first smile to her and said. "You said you like hot chocolate milk and cinnamon rolls."

They grew closer and more comfortable around each other, continuing with the routine. Then one morning in the end of November. He asked her one simple question. It took a couple of minutes for him to spit it out (more like an hour, but she stood there patiently not minding being late for class, every time she mentions it he blushes before denying it)

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"I love you, Sasuke-kun."

He smiled, wrapping his arms around the shorter girl. Enjoying the warmth that radiated onto his body. The way his body seemed to untense, his shoulders relaxing as he brought the girl closer into him. It's the start of April and tomorrow Sasuke started his first semester at Konoha University, while Hinata was going to study in the United States. He placed his face into her hair, taking in the smell of lavender and a hint of spring.

The Hyuga girl was leaving tomorrow as well. To start her schooling in the United States and leaving early so she could get acquainted with her family that lived there. The girl was already fluent in English, which surprised Sasuke at first, but than he'd just smirk and think that HIS GIRLFRIEND was incredibly smart. There were small doubts in the back of his head on how they'd handle the distance and more specifically the time difference.

He didn't say it but he didn't want to lose her just after getting her.

He wasn't one for showing emotions but this short girl was different. He couldn't help but be vulnerable around her. Her caring hands holding his hard, cold to the touch, ones. The way her smile was so inviting. The way her eyes showed her emotions on display and how just looking into them would brighten his mood up tremendously.

That's when it clicked.

That girl in front of him.

She was his light.
