A hero.

A board meeting was held monthly with top members of the commission, the one's with sponsored heroes or children that may turn to heroism were very important for these meetings.

Akari Enshiro was happy. He was happy that his sponsored child, the first one he had was finally coming out of his shell. He just informed him that he want's to go to UA and would need a recommendation from him.

Akari was happy that the boy didn't turn to villainy which was what he did believe he would turn into from the beginning after speaking on his disdain of heroes. But in the end he was right to believe it was just a childish tantrum.

The commission had always made for Akira to keep up with Kairo to see where his heads at and make sure they weren't funding a villain.

And now he can get a promotion. Since Akira was fairly new to the commission at the time when Kairo was introduced he was still at a fairly low managerial level.

Now when Kairo succeeds in his hero journey, as long as Akira sticks around and plays his managerial role he would always be looked at as the one responsible for him and the commission would keep giving him opportunities to showcase his brilliance.

Merit is what was needed to rise up in the world.

"Are we sure that this boy can really prove competent to become a hero?" One of the other members of the board spoke.

"He has always been disregardful and shown more hatred towards heroes." she continued on. "I'm only saying this in case he is going there for ulterior motives. Like under the order of a villain."

"He has not been in contact with anyone other than the people here in the commission building or Haruka Kurogane who was also founded by the commission." Akira spoke out to fight for his sponsor.

"We have access to all his internet and can see who he contacts and what he searches. There is nothing out of the ordinary."

Some of the board members were giving looks of disapproval while others were genuinely listening to make sure they come to the right conclusion.

"In the past whenever he was tested he displayed a lack of understanding of what a traditional hero is." The same lady spoke out, she wore glasses and had short hair fashioned in that of a bowl cut. She was older than most in the room which was shown by the wrinkles on her forehead.

"And that is something he can learn by going to a traditional hero academy like UA." Akira retorted back.

"Why not just have him stay and receive training from us and then he go out to be a hero at 18 like hawks did."

"This is what he wants and I think it could work in our interests." Akira said.

"And how so?" the arrogant elder lady asked.

"Well the president thinks that since we don't have that much influence over how UA operates and whatever mistakes they could be making, having Kairo there could work out for us by him telling me whatever goes on there."

The people in the room began to whisper amongst themselves.

UA and the commission were obviously on the same side. They're relationship was more collaborative and cooperative. UA serves as a training ground for future heroes, for students to learn to use their powers and become professional heroes. The commission are there to oversee the training and education provided to ensure that it aligns with their regulations and safety standards.

The school haven't done anything to get on the commissions bad side but with All Might planning to teach, there were bound to be people after him which may in turn endanger the school.

Everyone who knew the president knew that she loved to have control over most aspects of what she can get her hands on.

And being the head of a hero commission she wanted even more. Control over the schools would be best since they would have full control over what they are being taught which would turn them into the type of heroes that they are slowly nurturing in the values of what she believes in. Even that in itself isn't very clear to everyone working for the woman.

"Who say's UA would accept a commission recommended student?" one of them asked.

"Why wouldn't they accept him, its not like were just telling them place him in one of there classes, then they would have a reason to only not oblige. Making him take one of the recommendation exams is nothing to worry about." Akira said before he stopped speaking.

It was all going the way he thought it to go.

The rest of the board had agreed to having Kairo Kamisora will be taking the recommendation exam and get into UA.

--

My eyes widened when staring at the fortress where students would be learning how to protect their society. The best of the best.

The pristine buildings gleamed with promise.

Looking around I could see the large amount of people that were taking part in the recommendation exam.

It was more than I believed would be able to participate. Whenever these exams were described to me I would usually think that it comprised of the shortest amount of people that it could be. Which would mainly composed of children of high elite businessmen or woman that were valuable in the hero world. Or even better hero children.

Most of them had a sharp and assuming eye to them. And then some of the competitors would just have an optimistic look on their face that also showed they are just kind to everyone, while some people tried to play up a character and not reveal their real selves.

Already off to a weird start. Something I did not involve myself with, instead I just stood and waited for the exam to start by my lonesome.

"Listen up Kids!" the loud and booming voice coming from an all too familiar hero rung out. Well he may not have looked all to familiar but his voice was everywhere most time's when promoting something about heroes. Whether that be events, or merchandise.

So his voice was at the very least familiar to everyone.

"Congratulations on being selected for UA's recommendation exams. My names Present Mic!" most people in the crowd had already guessed that.

"As you stand here, on the cusp of your hero journey, I want to remind you of the gravity of this moment. UA High School is renowned for producing some of the finest heroes in the country. The path ahead will be challenging, but it is also an opportunity for you to showcase your skills, your dedication, and your unwavering determination to protect those in need."

"I urge you to give your all, to push yourselves to the limit, and to demonstrate the qualities that make a hero truly great. Remember, it's not just about winning or losing, but about showing us what you're made of and how you can contribute to society as a hero."

"Before we begin, I want to emphasize the importance of safety and following instructions at all times. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Now, let's get started. Good luck to each and every one of you. Make your mark and show us what you're capable of. Plus Ultra!!!!" he screamed out the common phrase used by the number 1 hero.

We were then led to separate classrooms where we would do our written portion of the exams. I immediately sat down and was prepared to take this exam. Things felt slow to me. My head felt a little spacey.

Once the sheet of paper landed on my desk and were told to start we would get questions on hero law and quirk law, like when we are allowed to use it and stuff like that. Hero law we didn't know much of since we weren't actual heroes but they were multiple choice answers to the questions.

We would also get scenario based questions like, "You are in the midst of a fierce battle against a powerful villain who is threatening innocent civilians. However, you receive a distress call from a fellow hero who is in danger and urgently needs your help. What do you do? Explain your decision and the reasoning behind it."

Questions like that were there to probably gauge our mindset and mentality about how hero work is supposed to be conducted.

There was a wrong answer but it was too simple for anyone to actually put "I would go to the hero in distress," The answer couldn't be something like that because it never stated that there were no civilians who would benefit from your aid there. But that couldn't be used as an excuse if you got marked down.

There were also questions on hero and villain history like describing the new norms of hero society and the cultural role it plays on people. Like "Discuss how having different types of quirks within a family can impact home culture in the world of heroes and villains. Consider issues such as quirk compatibility, quirk discrimination, or challenges related to controlling or managing unique quirks. Discuss strategies to promote a positive home culture while dealing with quirk-related challenges."

Or questions about the year of a failed revolution that happened even before the current number 1 All Might was born.

People wanted mutant type people to be kicked out of normal society because they weren't deemed normal, while some people thought this was just an evolutionary step for humanity and believed we just had to adapt and keep moving forward.

It was depicted as gruesome and cold and an act of many pointless killings for the mutant people to continue living in our society as normal.

Even today some people with mutant quirks are treated as the odd one out and discriminated against.

The last few questions had been basic enough and I finished it quickly and in time for the physical part of the exam.

An obstacle course. That was the first part of the physical exam. We were split up in groups of 4 and I was stood in front of a line. On my sides were large metal sheets that wouldn't allow for me to see who I would be up against.

All we had to do was reach the finishing line, and while using our quirks if they are well suited for the task at hand. The course loomed before them, featuring towering walls, narrow balance beams, and a series of hurdles.

The examiner's voice boomed over the loudspeaker, giving them instructions and emphasizing the importance of using their quirks wisely and safely. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the physical demands ahead.

A loud shrill of a whistle went off.

With the signal going off for us to start,

I sprinted off the line and was instantly greeted with the view of long and thing metal beams attached to both ends for me to cross.

And yes only me, Looking around there was nobody else, just large walls that blocked my view of the people that started on the same finishing line as me.

The objective was to sprint across the obstacle and make it over the walls to the finish line which was in a straight line.

Something that would be easy for someone with a quirk like mine.

My hands clasped together and with the same calm look that I had on since walking out into this terrain. The long and flying figure that seemed to come to being from transparent particles was swirling itself around me.

It's fur was light green with a darker shade of it covering its main that settled around its mouth area like a beard before moving further along.

It was in a very low position and I simply got on top of it and sat down.

The dragons that I summoned were fully controlled by me subconsciously. It was easy.

It flew over the wall and easily allowed for me and me alone to skip over all the courses that they had set up for me. Yeah it could be seen as somewhat cheating, but using your quirk to get past this situation was what was asked of us.

I could now see the other three competitors that I was grouped with. First was a girl with long hair that seemed to get in the way of her eyes. Her hair was half black and the other half grey. To get over the obstacles she was using string which seemed strong at a short distance but only got weaker for her the further she was from whatever was attached to it.

She was at the very back so I was sure she would most likely be last in this part of the exam. Next was a boy with grey hair who seemed to be walking up the wall.

'Cool' the reason why I didn't think his quirk was gravity from the beginning is because if it was related to it then I would have assumed that he could just hover over the walls with ease or maybe something less advanced with difficulty depending on how much he used his quirk.

But now I think his power could be something like balancing himself on any surface or a power similar to that.

Ahead of him was another girl this time. She was short and had bright orange hair. Her hair was unkempt and she seemed to not care for much in terms of the obstacle but had a crazed smile on her face as she kept moving forward.

It was easy to tell her quirk was something to do with electricity from the yellow sparks dancing around her body in small bursts.

But me, I was comfortably ahead of all of them and about to cross the finish line. If this was all it was going to take then I won't have to worry about anything.

My win in first place had set a record and more competitive spirit within most of the people in the exams that carried over to the second part of the exam.

1 on 1 combat.
