Chapter 2

Ken's fingers paused on the keyboard as his phone rang. He glanced at the screen, his heart racing as he recognized the number. It was Davis.

He hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with possibilities. What could He want? Why was he calling him now? Did Davis have another plane for him, and Yolei. He took a deep breath and answered the call. "Hello?" he said, his voice trembling slightly. "What do you mean missing? I know what happened. Can you tell everyone to meet at my house? "

Ken sat on the couch in his living room, his eyes fixed on the Floor. Wormmon worried jumps up beside him. "Ken, what is wrong?"

Ken with no response, He couldn't help but replay the events of the past night over and over in his head. Yolei, the girl he had been crushing on for years, also one of his best friends, had disappeared without a trace. And now, as he waited for his friends to arrive, he was filled with regret.

He had never told Yolei how he felt. He had always been too afraid of rejection, too scared of ruining their friendship. But now, as he sat on his couch with Wormmon trying to console him, he realized that he may have missed his chance with Yolei. Just like he was never able to make amends with his brother Sam before his death.

Just as he sat lost in thought, he barely noticed when a Knock! came from his front. Wormmon shakes Ken's arm, "I think they are here." In a sad daze Ken barely acknowledged the loud banging! on his door. His mind was consumed with thoughts of Yolei.

Davis's voice carried into the living room. "Hey man, what's going on!?"

Ken slowly walks to his front door, taking a deep breath before opening the door. "Where did it happen? How did she disappear like that?"

Ken escorts Kari, TK, Davis, Codi, and Izzy into his home. Davis hugs Ken, then Ken stands in front of them showing his finger. "The night I picked up Yolei from work. I had a dream me and Yolei were in the Digital World, one moment we were happy and… The next moment a shadowy figure pulled her into the Dark Ocean portal, and it closed."

Kari was the first to break the silence. "What do you think it means?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ken shook his head, "I don't know. But it felt so real. And the way that figure looked at me, it was like it knew me."

Davis spoke up, "Maybe it's a warning. Like something bad is going to happen to Yolei."

TK nodded in agreement, "Yeah, and we need to figure out how to stop it."

Codi, who had been quiet until now, spoke up, "But how do we even begin to figure out what this dream means? It could be anything."

Izzy, always the optimist, chimed in, "Maybe we should start by researching the Dark Ocean World. Maybe there's some clues that could help us understand what's going on."

Davis light shoves, "So, Ken what were you and Yolei doing in this dream?"

Ken's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he tried to come up with a response. He couldn't believe Davis had just asked him that question in front of everyone. He took a deep breath and tried to compose himself before answering. "We were just having a picnic in the Digital World enjoying the sunset. Yolei was telling me about her dreams and aspirations, and I was listening intently. We were lost in the moment when suddenly, the shadowy figure took away from me."

Davis leaned in closer, intrigued. "Are you sure that all?"

Kari pushes Davis. "Davis, that's all you are focused on, your best friend is missing!"

Davis hugs on to Kari and Ken. "Don't worry, we will find Yolei."

TK took a deep breath and began to speak. "We sent Daemon there the last time we fought him. We don't even know what that place is?

Cody in deep thought turns to the others. "It must have been attached to the Digi world at some point, because Kari said some strange Digimon live there."

Ken sadly sits on his couch in from of his friends. "That's not all, before Davis called me to pick up Yolei. I woke up to my brother's old computer flashing grey, also wet footprints on the floor and my finger was bleeding." He shows his finger to them.

Izzy stands in front of Ken. "Can you take me to your brother's room?

As Ken led the group into his brother's room, the air was thick with a sense of unease. The room was dimly lit, with the only source of light coming from a small lamp on the desk. The walls were lined with shelves, each filled to the brim with books and various trinkets.

Izzy walked over to the computer, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. He took a deep breath, his heart racing as he turned on the computer. The screen flickered to life, illuminating the room with a soft glow. As they waited for the computer to boot up, notice a photo of a boy with glass smiling hanging on the wall. "That's your brother."

Ken stared at the photo of his brother, his eyes tracing the contours of his face, the curve of his smile. It had been years since they had last seen each other, but the memories flooded back like a tidal wave, overwhelming him with a sense of loss and nostalgia. "Yes, why?"

Izzy is still working on the computer. "He was supposed to attend summer camp with the first OG. He died before he could attend, the camp counselor spoke about it. I attended summer camp with Sam before. I had no idea he was your brother. He was a good kid.

Kari leans over to Izzy and Ken. "Do you think he would've been Digi Destin?"

Izzy dug through Sam's desk drawers, searching for any clues that might explain his connection to the Digital World. He found an old dusty Digi device. "Yes, here is the proof."

Ken staring at the photo of Sam. The events of the past few days had left him feeling hollow and empty. He couldn't shake the memory of his last argument with his brother Sam before he died.

The argument had originally started over that device, then the arguments became more frequent, Ken couldn't even remember now what they had been fighting about half of the time. But the anger and frustration had escalated quickly, until they were both shouting at each other, their faces red with fury.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. Sam had stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Ken had sat there for a few minutes, trying to calm himself down, before he went to bed. He had assumed that they would make up in the morning, as they always did.

But in the morning, Sam was gone. Ken had assumed that he had just gone out for a walk or something, but as the hours passed and he didn't return, Ken began to worry. He had searched the house and the surrounding area, but there was no sign of Sam.

It wasn't until the next day that they found his body. He had fallen from a cliff while hiking, and there was nothing anyone could have done to save him. Ken was devastated. He couldn't believe that his last words to his brother had been in anger.

Ken wished more than anything that he could go back in time and change things. He wished he could tell Sam how much he loved him, and how sorry he was for the argument. But it was too late now. Ken looked at his friends, "He thought I took his, after that we argued all the time, but I never did take his device, because he had his own all this time." Ken pulls out his Digi device. "Then he was gone. Now, Yolei is gone."

Davis gives Ken a light pat on his back. "Cheer up, we will find Yolei."

TK taps Ken's arm smiling at him. "Yeah, at least we have some clues."

Cody nods at Ken. "Yolei is strong and resourceful. We can't give up on her!"

###

As Yolei's hands were tied tightly to the wall, she couldn't help but feel a sense of hopelessness wash over her. The damp, dark cave seemed to be closing in on her, and she couldn't see a way out.

But just as she was about to give up all hope, she heard a faint fluttering sound. It grew louder and louder until a small, flickering light appeared in the distance. As it drew closer, Yolei could see that it was being led by a small Digimon. "Hawkmon! Anyone!" she cried out, her voice hoarse from screaming.

The Digimon, a tiny Atlas Mothmon, flew up to her and began to inspect the ropes that bound her to the wall. With a few swift movements, Atlas Mothmon had freed Yolei from her restraints.

"Thank you," Yolei said, her voice shaking with relief.

Atlas Mothmon nodded its head and motioned for Yolei to follow. "Come quickly, before he comes back. As they made their way through the winding tunnels of the cave, Yolei couldn't help but feel grateful for the small Digimon's help.

Yolei follows Atlas Mothmon and the Digimon into grey Forest. They quickly hide behind trees as Daemon flies above them with other Digimon. Yolei notices Atlas Mothmon bleeding from his arm. Yolei was concerned for her rescuer. "You're injured."

Atlas Mothmon sadly looks at his wound. "They took my blood so they could get to Sam Ichijol's brother."

Yolei looks at her new friend. "You mean Sam Ichijoji? That's my friend Ken's brother."

Atlas Mothmon sadly looks down. "Yes, Sam was my partner.

Yolei leans down to Atlas Mothmon. "How did you get stuck here?"

Atlas Mothmon rests near a tree. "As a Digimon, I never thought I would be separated from my partner, Sam. We only met a few times, but I felt a strong connection to him. However, fate had other plans for us. As it took him away from me, I tried many times to get back to him, I found myself in this strange world with other Digimon like me. I got stuck in this world with many other good Digimon. I was hoping to be reborn, after Original Digimon Destin put the digital world back together. The dark forces held this land back from being a part of digital world again. Now, we are being hunted for blood because it can be used as portal to where our partner comes from. Other Digimon believe Daemon's lies they think he can reunite Digimon with their lost partner."

Yolei looks around the dark and grey forest. "You have been stuck here that long. I am so sorry."

Atlas Mothmon looks tired running out energy. "Yes, they used me multiple times as portal to get to Sam's brother. I fear the plan has involved you. "

"Ken is my friend, he is Sam's brother. That must be the reason."

Atlas Mothmon shakes his head. "You both must share a very strong connection of friendship."

"Let's keep moving. So, we can find a way out of here." Yolei starts carrying Atlas Mothmon.

###

Izzy is typing on Sam's computer. The others hover behind him. Davis's phones rings he answers it.

"When did she get home? I can see her. Okay, maybe tomorrow. "He hangs up his phone and faces his friends.

Kari shakes Davis. "What's up?"

Davis smiled and put his phone away. "Yolei was with Ken this entire. He just dropped her off at her home."

TK look at Davis, then at Ken. "That doesn't make any sense."

Davis scratches his head. "What do you mean?"

Cody pushes Davis, the points to Ken. "Davis! How can Ken drop her off? When he was with us the entire time.

Davis thinks for a moment. "Oh, what the?"

They all look at Ken.

Ken holds up his hands, "I haven't seen her since the other night."

Izzy let out a frustrated sigh as Sam's computer shut down while he was in the middle of working on it. She had been trying to fix the glitch that had been plaguing the system for hours, and now it seemed like all her efforts had gone down the drain. As he faces the group. "This is very odd. Tomorrow, we will meet with Yolei and find out what happened."

The group and so, with a heavy heart, agreed to part ways for the night, until they could speak with Yolei about her disappearance.
