Wrong.

It wasn't all that much more interesting. Maybe for the bottom feeders but not me who finished in third place.

Actually the ones in the top three were completely expected. The three recommended students.

Even though the event's we had to do were straight forward depending on the person and how versatile their quirk was they were limited in the mini tests that we had to do. Like the multiple sidestep.

With my quirk there wasn't much I could do but someone like the ashen blonde boy Bakugou Katsuki was able to excel at that with his explosion quirk which allowed him to propel himself to either side in quick succession.

With how versatile his quirk was I wasn't surprised that he finished in fourth place.

Someone who was a surprise though was the boy named Izuku Midoriya. He had curly green hair and freckles on his face and stands a few inches shorter than me.

His frame was light and he hadn't done well or used his quirk right up until the end. It was like some strength enhancing quirk. When he used it during the ball throw he was only second to Uraraka who used gravity to get a limitless score.

The wind pressure that the boy was able to emanate from the throw was great, it was such a powerful throw that it even broke his own finger.

A lack of control with his quirk was what was going around with Bakugou saying that he was quirkless.

"Your quirk's so cool!" a cheery and gushful tone spoke out from beside me as I was waiting in front of the school for Haruka.

The person was in my class and it was the boy with the electricity quirk. Kaminari Denki.

At first glance he just strikes me as an idiot that can't control his quirk and is only becoming a hero for whatever benefits he can get from it. And right now, I still feel the same way.

He carried himself with a casual smile on his face.

"Name's Kaminari Denki if you didn't know." he introduced himself.

"Yoshimura Kairo, Nice to meet you." I nodded at him without putting my hand forward like he may have been expecting.

He didn't move from his spot in front of me "Are you headed to the station?" he asked me.

"Yeah, I'm just waiting for someone." I gave him that answer thinking that he would leave knowing that I'm waiting for someone.

"Oh so you already made friends." he seemed surprised which somewhat offended me. "I thought you were just a loner." he said dully.

"He is." and joining him was the woman of the hour.

"Haruka." I said in an annoyed tone.

Her and Kaminari decided to ignore me and introduce themselves to each other.

"So how long have you known Kairo?" he asked her, on real friendly terms so quickly.

"About 3 and a half years now." she answered.

"Cool well I bet you two feel great about being in the same school huh?"

Haruka was the one to answer with a big grin, "Yeah of course. Now we're even going to celebrate the fact that we made it in by a new Italian restaurant."

"Oh, Sounds cool."

"Do you wanna come?"

I knew she would ask him that.

"Of course." he responded happily. "The reason I walked up to Kairo was because I think we can become some cool superhero duo."

I looked at him shocked since we just met and he was thinking something like that and before I got to ask why he bursts out and says. "We could be like a dark and light duo."

Him saying that seemed to cause lightning to strike within us, even him as he realized what he just said.

"You know, I would never mean it in that way." he said while shaking his hands in the air.

"I truly don't since I just met you now you know." I said trying to tease him.

Haruka slapped be in the back of my head. "Don't be like that." we knew where his heart was.

"It's fine. I was joking." I told him hoping he didn't take this whole thing too seriously.

"Great that means we can still be the Dark and Light duo."

I guess I didn't have to think of him thinking seriously, this guy's an idiot.

--

We were back in the changing rooms but this time not wearing school tracksuits but getting into our hero costumes.

Like I told Haruka, I didn't put so much thought into my costume apart from taking past ideas that she spoke of in the past.

It was just a plain black bodysuit. What was added on it was more of Haruka's idea, like the silver metallic accents on it, there was also a silver dragon emblem etched onto the chest area.

Others in the room had costumes that I guess fit with whatever character they wanted to portray.

Walking out of the changing rooms and into the general area of a big monitor room. And at the head of the room with an alluring presence was the number 1 hero All Might.

"Looking Good Kids!" he said while tensing. He stood at 7ft with protruding blonde locks pointed towards the sky which made them resemble that of bunny ears. He was in his traditional red and blue skintight hero costume.

He was really teaching our class. It came as a shock in the acceptance letter that I received but it was still a bit of a shock to see him just standing there ready to teach us.

"You'll be moving in teams of two!" he pointed two fingers out in a piece sign to signify that. It will be a hero versus villains situation where the hero team will have to reach a bomb that the villains will be protecting and the villains have to protect the bomb and not let the heroes reach it before the time goes.

I was on team C with Yaoyorozu. She took a pre-emptive glance at me before slowly making her way towards me. She had a somewhat serious, stern look on her face that seemed to be hiding something else.

The slow click of her short heels that she had incorporated into her costume was heard close to me now.

"Nice to officially meet you Yoshimura." she said with a short wave of her hand.

"You too, and you don't have to call me by my last name."

She seemed slightly taken aback by that, which I understood. "I just prefer my given name."

She seemed more willing to now and didn't show her growing awkward face that didn't know how to proceed.

We just stood next to each other in the room while All Might waited to shout start for the two that had just been sent out. Which were team A being Midoriya Izuku and Ochaco Uraraka and team D Tenya Iida and Katsuki Bakugou.

Right from the first few days that we started in this school Bakugou has seemed to keep an air of rage and hate around him when it came to people just being in his vicinity. But for Midoriya Izuku it always seemed to spike, so much so that I was thinking to voice my opinion on the matchup and how they should be swapped. But in the end I didn't.

And the number 1 hero was here to make sure it all went alright anyway.

"And START!" he yelled into the small little microphone that blared out of the earphones that each team was wearing. Judging by how both teams acted it looked to be a villain team win.

Bakugou instantly ditched his partner to go off and fight. And the fight seemed more personal than the little school exercise that we were supposed to be doing.

That was made evidently clear when he started using more powerful and dangerous attacks that would shake the building with how powerful they were.

He would blatantly ignore All Mights warnings and just fight as he wanted with a small scowl on his face to show that he at least heard what All Might had said but chose to ignore it.

He could use his quirk well and knew how to fight as well as use his quirk for whatever he wanted, so no that regard he seemed to far outclass the team that he was fighting, he just let his emotions control him without thinking too far ahead.

And if his explosions were shaking up the building then the outstretched fist that pointed upwards was the one to actually move and destroy some of the building.

The little boy in green threw a fist upwards with enough force to crash through nearly every floor above him. This diversion allowed for his teammate to reach the objective which was the bomb.

Leaving a crushed and shaking Bakugou.

The one major thing that seemed to come from this was the fact that he was so quiet.

He was visibly shaking in rage and anger while his sweat poured off of him.

"The M.V.P of this match was obviously Iida." the tall girl beside me said out loud. "He was the only one to stay composed and stuck to the role that he was given and adapted." Iida seemed awestruck but I could see where she was coming from.

"From what I could see Bakugou was acting on a personal grudge and completely disregarded his teammate. Also using those destructive attacks indoors was just foolish."

She was really laying it on him.

"The same can be said for Midoriya as well."

The little she said about Uraraka losing focus could have been left out since they still achieved what they set out to do but she gave her own honest description of the mistakes both teams had made.

All Might praised her for her knowledge on strategy and her eye for picking up on those mistakes and then went over to a small box to pull out two more letters to figure out who would be fighting who.

"Team C…" me and yaoyorozu. "…Vs Team H"

Looking around at who jumped at the call of the name I seen Tokoyami the boy with the bird face and Tsuyu the frog girl.

"And Team H will be the hero team!"
