Waking up to a loud rumbling explosion. A young man, around 6'4". Lean but muscular. Black hair, but two bits area is always slick back, and sharp. Adam is a Faunus, a Bull Faunus, horns. Around 16 years old.
A Faunus is living being, had been oppressed due of their animal features. Even their assistance at the Great War, the Faunus was given the land of now know as Menagerie. They're all originally thought they can build their own Kingdom, even a Huntsmen Academy, but due of the majority of the island had been filled by Grimm, that are far more powerful than the ones from Vacuo. The desert of Menagerie is 80% cover by sand, so finding a living place in the Menagerie is nearly impossible.
Sitting up in a bunk bed, rubbing his eyes. He let out a loud yawn. Getting off the bunk bed from the bottom.
Adam start stretching out then start walking towards the bathroom.
Before walking into the bathroom, someone walked out.
7' tall Dog Faunus, ears feature. Red hair, eyes, and ears. Caucasian.
"Going into the bathroom, Adam?" He asked while looking down.
Adam looks up. Feeling intimidated due of his size.
"Yes, Mr. Redcliff" Adam replied with a scared tone.
"Well the showers haven't been fixed yet." Looking back then turned to Adam. "So there's no real point on doing so? Some of us were planning on seeing if the women can let us use their showers. If they're fixed." Mr. Redcliff pat Adam's head.
"Alright, Mr. Redford" Adam nods.
"And just call me Norman, Adam. How many times do I have to tell you?" Norman walked away while Adam looks over.
Nods. Look at the washroom area. Sign over the frustration of not being able to shower. It had been around a month since they had been stop. Many Faunus workers had been filing complaints about this, but no such worker had came around to do so.
Adam had been a worker in the Schnee Dust Company. A mining company that looks for Dust. An item that help Huntsmen and Huntresses in their jobs. Adam Taurus had been an orphan from the Zodiac Orphanage. His surname is just based around his Faunus trait, being a Bull Faunus.
Born and abandoned at Vale, but an SDC worker found him then takes him to the Zodiac Orphanage at Mistral. Due of Mistral mistreatment towards Faunus, Adam's childhood had been filled with racism comments, discrimination, and on some occasions, get a reading. Normally from an Anti-Faunus group.
Adam is wearing some worker's attire; overalls, shirt, gloves, helmet, boots.
Walking towards the a mine shaft. Joining with the other teenagers around his age.
Adam had been working at the Schnee Dust Company at Anima. Child labor laws doesn't apply for Faunus children due of being a Human law. So children tend to work the same hours as the adults. From nine to five.
Adam walked by a hospital that's called the Vet. Build from an actual veterinarian. Even the Doctors treat it like a Vet. Sadly only the elderly goes in but never been seen again. Adam wonders to himself that he would end up there, due of never been able to live out a good life.
Adam grabs his workers hat, pick axe, then punch in the clock then went grab his lunch kit that the SDC provided. They do get paid with a weekend off due of SDC workers laws, and supplying them with actual living quarters. It's mostly a couple of barn houses with multiple bunk beds. Adam being underage, he does tend to go to weekend school with other kids and teens his age. Just the common basics classes that the SDC provided.
Before walking up to the tunnels, Adam noticed some Humans are at the main building of the workplace. Perhaps one of the investors that partner up with the Schnee Dust Company.
Norman is walking by, wearing his work outfit. "Mr. Redcliff, is one of the investors are here?" Adam asked as he points at the main building.
Norman looks over then a thought came by. "I recall one of the older members of the Faunus working committees said that the Eden Family is supposed to see if investing in the SDC is a good one."
"Eden Family?" Adam is confused.
"One of the wealthy families up in Atlas." Norman looks up, as if he's looking for something.
Adam is also looking up but continue to be confused on what Norman is looking for.
Norman smiled then pets Adam. "Get to work, Adam. We got a long day today." Walking towards one of the tunnels.
"Right away, Mr. Redcliff." Adam bows.
"Norman." He turns to Adam. "Just call me Norman, Adam."
"Alright, umm... Norman." Adam smiled nervously.
Adam looks back at the main building, to see the Eden Family.
A silver haired boy that's slick back, around Adam's age. Caucasian. He's wearing a three piece suit, expensive. Has a ceremonial sword, and a flintlock pistol, custom made. But doesn't seem to be there for business.
Next to him, there's a bleach blonde haired girl, also around Adam's age. Also Caucasian. She seem to be wearing a business dress. Looking nervous. She's walking into the main office building.
The boy quickly looks back and grinned at Adam. He walks up to fence that separate the Faunus and the Humans.
"You!" He points at Adam.
Adam looks around then point at himself.
"Yes, you! Come here!" He orders out.
Adam walked up, but hesitant though. "Umm... can I help you? Sir?"
"Sir?" He smiled with a conceited tone. "I liked you."
"Umm, thank you!" Adam bows. "So what business do you have here?"
The boy looked unamused. Then continues with a conceited tone, "No introductions?"
"Introductions?" Adam is confused.
"My word, do you animals have no proper manners? As in, what is your name?" The boy leans on the fence as he's waiting for Adam's introduction.
"Oh!" Adam realized. "My name is Adam Taurus. Born from Vale. Grew up at the Zodiac Orphanage. My goal is to become a Huntsman." Adam smiled awkwardly.
"Ah!" He said with a snarky smile. "Well, I doubt you'll become one since such a beast can learn the basic usage of a sword." He pulls out his ceremonial sword.
"Wow!" Adam is shocked to see the beauty of such sword.
"Only the worthy shall wield it." He swings it around then put it away.
"And what is your name, sir? And are you part of the Eden Family?" Adam asked.
"Ah, no. I'm meant to be betrothed to a real beauty up at Atlas. Part of the arrange marriage of the Schnee Family. My name is Lucifer Angelo. Member of the world famous Angelo Family." Lucifer had finally introduced himself. "And I have a family name to uphold." Lucifer posed with his sword. "And this sword, the Archangel, is my weapon of choice! And my flintlock pistol, the Fallen Star. Together, I will become perhaps the greatest Huntsman that had ever lived!"
"The Angelo Family?" Adam is confused then looked up till a thought came by. "Isn't that the family that has the Seven Children? Because I had heard at least four of them, but never heard the name Lucifer before." Adam is finger counting.
"Right!" Lucifer put away his weapons. "Perhaps a Faunus like you wouldn't know what to think of. Because only the worthy shall carry the Angelo Family, since we're all adopted!"
"Ah, like an orphanage!" Adam smiled as he misplaced the ideologies of both worlds.
"Not really. And you said you're from the Zodiac Orphanage?" Lucifer grinned down on Adam as he asked about Adam's background.
"Right. I was one of the twelve orphans who couldn't been adopted. There were odd kinds of Faunus, but we've been separated ever since I got here. I became a worker." Adam explained.
"Well, I guess that can't be help." Lucifer didn't seem to care as he shake his head with a conceited way. "So where were you planning on going to, as a Huntsman?"
"I haven't decided yet, but I know I can't make it in Atlas. Plus, my workers salary can't cover the cost." Adam replied. "And who was that you came with?" Adam asked about the girl.
"Oh! I completely forgot about Eve." Lucifer smiled.
"Eve?" Adam is confused. "Odd name."
"Agreed, but she's no Schnee. I guess I can toy around with her for a bit. She's easily tempted." Lucifer looks back. "She wasn't planning on doing business for her old man, but she has to learn to do such work. As for why I'm here, as her bodyguard. Simple as that, since us Huntsman have to do some boring jobs like that."
"Doesn't sound boring to me." Adam looks over. "I think it's fine to do some protecting. I've never cared about gaining glory."
Lucifer seem offended by Adam's comment. "Hmm. I guess you don't have to worry of such. It's not like you ain't gonna be leaving at any time soon." Lucifer is about to walk away. "Time to go to work, little cattle." Lucifer smirks.
Lucifer walked back to the main officer building.
Adam watches then shrugs it off.
Walking up to a tunnel with no light, but this isn't new nor a problem for the Faunus workers. Their eye sight has the ability to see through the dark. To Adam's eyes, piercing blue eyes, sees an underground rainbow of eyes. Adam decided to go deep into the tunnel. Started to work. Each time Adam used the pickaxe, the vibration of each strike seem to have given him the ability to work even far more.
As the day went by, and by the time lunch had came by. Adam tend to stretch out and start hopping. Telling himself that he's about to start to get to work for real as others seem to be tired out and are taking a lunch break.
Adam kept working throughout lunch, but noticed one of the boys, a Dog Faunus boy seem to be beyond tired and his lunch kit look small. Adam walked up to him and gives him his.
"Here you go." Adam offers.
The Dog Faunus boy ate Adam's lunch kit. Smiling down, Adam kept working.
As Adam continue to work, he thinks to himself.
Perhaps this wouldn't be too bad. It's not like I have any other goals in life. I have no real ambitions out there. I don't really need to eat for work, I can survive till dinner had been provided. But what can I really do though? Perhaps...
Adam pulls out a piece of paper that he saw during one of his weekends. The paper is an advertisement for becoming a Huntsman at Beacon Academy, now opening for Faunus applicants.
"Planning on becoming a Huntsman?" The Dog Faunus asked him as Adam is sitting down.
Adam turned with a surprised look. "Umm... I don't really know." Adam reply with a hesitated answer. "I was planning on asking for a leave, in order to participate. Don't know though. I've been thinking about it, but don't have any strength to do so." Adam spoke. Putting away the piece of paper. "Time to head back to work."
"Aren't you gonna eat?" The Dog Faunus offers a mostly eaten sandwich.
"No thank you. I'll survive till days end." Adam awkwardly smiled at the boy.
Adam had continue to work till five while everyone continues after their lunch. Filling up a multiple mining carts with their specific kinds of Dust.
Explosion is heard, but most of the workers continue to work as they're used of explosions and other kinds of accidents. This isn't new to them, as Adam thought it must've been the Fire Dust accident. Pretty common.
Unknown to Adam, there's a Grimm attack that's happening up top.
Adam decided to walked out of the dark tunnel due of checking his watch, noticing that it's after five but no work whistle. As the dark is slowly burning away from the light, slightly blinding Adam eyes, but the sounds are getting louder. The louder it gets, he realize the early explosion and runs out of the tunnel.
Seeing what happen, a couple of Grimm. Creatures that have black fur, seems to be cloak in darkness. Bones that served like armor. And what Adam is seeing, he noticed crimson red on its black fur. Killed a couple of Faunus. Looking around, a couple of Faunus, that had armed themselves with pickaxes and dynamite.
Norman is protecting others with his Semblance; Gigantism. It has given him the ability of growing in size from 7 feet to 10 feet, but only for a short time and his movements will be slow down due the body mass. When he turns back to normal, his muscles and bones will start aching due of the expansion.
One of the Grimm, standing above a high cliff. Four-legged, but can go bipedal. Unlike the Beowolves that resembled more like bipedal wolves, this Creature of Grimm isn't classified. Adam decided to call this Grimm, the Beast.
The Beast is slightly 10 feet tall. It's Grimm bones have a mask with horns going back, above it ears that are pointy. More on the Grimm bones; Exoskeleton spine, forearm Grimm bones, and claws. Back legs that can make the Beast sprint faster than most Grimm or living beings with an upperbody strength that can outpower any living beings. Its body seem to be obscured with a cloak that has blood splatters.
The Breast looks down on other Grimm and Faunus like a prince looking down on it subjects. It look towards the main office building. The Beast leaps towards it.
Adam run towards the danger. Grabs a pickax while most Faunus workers are running away from the Grimm. Some of the other Faunus workers are defending their workplace while some are making sure that Dust is secured to their safe place. Adam runs to the main office building to chase the Beast. He grabs a couple of dynamite.
Adam is scared. Chasing the Beast with nothing but tools for work.
Adam overshot the lid up dynamite, in order to slow down the Beast. One of the dynamites managed to stopped the Beast on its track.
It looks back with it glowing piercing red eyes back to Adam. Seeing his Aura at a high level. The Beast then noticed a much larger but thinner Aura is walking behind Adam.
Adam looks back to see Norman walking up to the Beast, standing at the same size.
"Adam! Go check up on if the guests are alright at the main building!" Norman ordered.
"Right away, Mr. Redcliff!" Adam runs by the Beast, with its eyes staring at Adam as he walked by to the main office.
The Beast had snaps a backhand to launch Adam into the building.
Lucifer is enjoying some wine as Eve seem not impressed with his attitude.
"Luci." Eve spoke with a demanding tone.
"What?" Lucifer looks at her. "Drinking isn't gonna hurt anyone."
Eve stood up. "Then perhaps..."
Adam fly passed through her and hit Lucifer hard, to knock him out and break his white Aura.
Eve is surprised to see Lucifer been knocked out and Adam who came crashing through.
"Leave! There's a Faunus attack!" Adam warns them as he's holding his ribs. "Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Eden. Name's Adam Taurus!"
"Umm..." Eve is surprised. "Eden Eve, only daughter of Eden Garden." She offers a handshake.
"But now, please escort yourself out of here! Because..." Adam points at the Beast.
Norman shoulder tackle the Beast down and punches down onto it. The Beast charges, but Norman headlock hold and punches down onto it then toss it away. It quickly leaps onto Norman back. Overhead tossed it off.
Adam looks around and noticed a claymore on the top of the desk office. "May I borrow that, please?"
Norman is going for the jab towards the Beast, but the mass expansion is making the Beast to read the movements after taking a few shots. Leans back then duck a couple of Norman punches. The Beast slash the midsection of Norman.
Nearly falls, but his red Aura is showing. Noticing his Aura, Norman believes that his Aura level must had lowered due of his Semblance. Norman kept his fists up, shaken in fear. The Beast smirked then chuckled. Norman goes for multiple swings, the Beast continues to evade the punches then make a couple of slashes of its own.
The last slash made Norman stung by one foot. Uppercut midsection punch onto the Beast. It grabs Norman head then smash it through the wall of the main office building then runs as it drags Norman through the wall till they hit a pillar.
Norman dropped back to 7 feet with his Aura broke.
Grabs Norman by the shirt then lift him above him as it slams him onto the wall. Norman is looking down as blood is bleeding out from behind from the wall slam. Norman growl like a dog protecting his master while the Beast snarl at Norman. Norman tries to punch his way out of the hold, but there's no use.
Adam runs up and headbutts the midsection of the Beast, forcing it to let go of Norman who fell through the second floor. Adam is using the claymore sword from the main office building that was used as a decoration.
Adam and the Beast angrily glares at one another as they're circling around each other.
They run up to each other for the strike.
Adam is dragging the claymore as he runs.
Knee slides to avoid a slash from the Beast, and swings the claymore onto the back leg. During the swing, Adam glows as if he's releasing some kind of energy to cut through the leg, but it also seem to shattered the claymore blade as if it wasn't strong enough to hold Adam's ability.
The Beast fall after it back leg been cut completely off, but it turns and rush up to Adam. Paw swing. Adam tries to defend himself, but didn't noticed the the shattered blade till now.
Been paw punched through the building then right onto the limo of the Eden Family, making a huge dent of it.
Eve is horrified to see bodies flying through while Luci is completely down, but slowly getting up.
Adam stood up and keep the shattered claymore up as the Beast is running up while breaking through the building.
Leaping off the limo to pierced whatever left of the claymore sword into the Beast's head.
It tackled Adam down onto the top of the limo. Slamming down it paws onto Adam who's defending with the limo door.
Eve looked around to see Lucifer's Archangel. She runs up to grab it.
The Beast continues to pummeled down. Adam rolls out then start to activate his Semblance to create a red electrical Aura. He leap towards the Beast with his fist clinch, ready to throw a punch. Adam punches the handle to forced it inside of the Beast's head, shattering the Grimm mask with pieces falling down. The claymore pierced through while it tackled Adam down into the ground.
The Beast haven't been brought down as the black blood pours down to glare down at Adam.
"Mr. Faunus!" Eve shouted.
Adam turns to see her tossing the Archangel.
"Used this!" She said.
Adam grabs the Archangel.
Norman looked over and sees Adam determination in his eyes. "Bring that demonic bastard down to its knees...!" Norman muttered to himself.
Adam charged up the Archangel as it shows some shattered symbols.
The Beast and Adam runs up to each other. Adam overhead swing while releasing a large amount of kinetic energy that seem to be stored up from all his time as a worker to slice the Beast in half.
Adam stood there as the Archangel shattered as the claymore before.
Adam went down to a knee as he had killed the Beast.
The Beast been defeated, Adam barely crawls out with his Aura showing.
He turns then stumbled to Eve.
"Good evening, Ms. Eden." Adam bows, then collapse down in front of her with the Archangel fall from his hand.
"Oh my!" Eve shows concern over Adam. "Mr. Faunus! Are you alright?!" She asked.
She went to check up on Adam, who grabs the Grimm bone that haven't been vaporized, he held onto it dearly.
He thinks to himself as he's looking at it.
My first Grimm kill! I guess I do have what it takes to become a Huntsman!
