Thunder strikes down next to him. Gallant appears on the stage. He's wearing a traditional Mistral samurai robe with his katana at his side. He has yellow electrical aura around him.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! This is very excitingly thrilling!" Grins up the Academy building like it's his to conquered. Adam is down to see Gallant towering him down. "Ah, Adam! Nice seeing you here! What brings you up here? The way you dressed up, I thought you work at the Pound Hotel." He pulls him up, dust him off then hard back pat him.
Kaguya walked up to them. "Actually, I'm the one who works at the Pound Hotel. Adam here is just another participant, like the rest of us." She's wearing a petite looking combat dress, with leggings underneath. She has a silver and orange theme, like she's either a moon or a new moon theme. She has running shoes with kickpads. Her weapon of choice is a umbrella shoto sword. She has this Geisha look.
Gallant lift her up by the head. "Wow! And here I thought my competition was the Gorilla."
She has this calm but annoyed smile. "And it's quite rude on holding a woman by the head."
"Nonsense!" Gallant laugh it off. "When you're entering a profession like ours, you had to throw political correctness out of the window. And if you can't handle while in combat, then you have no right to call yourself a Huntress, little hare!"
"And here I thought I was a brute." Clay walked up to them.
Slade walking by. "Just get out of the way, monkey paw."
Clay angrily grabs Slade by the shirt. Angrily snarl at each other. "And how about you learn your manners, you little stray."
"Then we're in the battlefield, we can settle this score, mutt!" Clay said to Slade.
"You're on, monkey paw." Slade agrees.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! See that little hare! That's the spirit of competition!" Gallant put Kaguya down.
"Then I guess I'm competition. He! He!" She chuckled.
"Hardly! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Laughing down on Kaguya, which annoys her for a bit.
"Then see you at the finish line then." Kaguya bows to Adam before leaving to the hallway.
Slade and Clay enters.
"Hello, everyone!" Isabella continues to pose in front of her Scroll with a selfie stick. "This is Isabella Furcoat! The Fashionista Faunus! I'm here today to give you all on the daily life in Atlas. When I become one of the lucky few to ever get passed the upcoming ceremony, I'll keep you all posted. Oh!" Isabella noticed Adam. She runs up to him, holding him close, making him flustered as Isabella got him in a selfie shot. "Selfie!" Isabella covering Adam's left eye with a peace sign for the selfie. "This is one of the other Faunus I had met here, this is Adam Taurus! A Bull Faunus! He has this prim and proper type. So say something nice to the audience at home!"
Adam nervously smiled. "Hello everyone...! I hope you're all having a wonderful day...!"
"See! Prim and proper!" Isabella pull away to continue with her live stream while walking out.
Adam calmly smiled as he walk through the halls. Nothing but massive halls that are sparkling clean and even sometimes sees his own reflection on the floor. Adam felt like he had enter in another world, a completely different world.
"Would Beacon be like this?" Adam asked himself loudly.
"Woah!" Harriet Bree came from the boys campsite. "I've been seen a Faunus with horns before!"
Adam looked dumbfounded then looks around him. Points at himself.
"Yes!" She used her Super-Speed Semblance to run up to him. Pull him down to examine the horns. "Woah! These are so weird!"
Adam felt uncomfortable. "Weird? Um, miss, do you mind saying on how weird?" She pulls him up. "What did you say?"
"Do you mind saying..."
"No! I mean, before that!" Harriet probes.
Adam eyes looked around. "Um... weird?"
"No, after that!" Harriet goes closer to Adam.
"Miss?"
"That's right! How did you know that I'm a girl?!" Harriet seems happy. "All week, I had been called a boy since I got here. But now, being called a girl is such a relief!" Harriet hugs Adam tightly.
"Um... the skirt and leggings kind of give it away, miss...? What is your name?" Adam asked.
Harriet let go then walked back to offer a handshake. "Harriet Bree."
"Adam Taurus" shakes her hand. "Your from Vale or Vacuo?"
Harriet grins as she pose. "The fastest girl from my hometown of Rabbit Town, Vale. I originally wanted to go to Beacon, but I wanted a challenge. So I came here. I'm not actually smart and all, but barely passed the written test in order to qualify for the Initiation."
"Written test?" Adam is confused. "Are we having a written test already?"
"It's a requirement, an entrance exam. They're looking for both the smartest and strongest." Harriet nose rub while being all high and mighty.
"I wasn't told about the entrance exam." Adam said to Harriet which shocks her.
"I'm sure the entrance exam was hosted here. But now that you mentioned it, I haven't seen any Faunus." Harriet is wondering now.
"Faunus aren't allow to be part of the written exam." Another woman's voice is heard till she walks up to them.
She walk with determination. Placing her hand over Harriet's shoulder. "I've read that it's traditional that Faunus aren't allow to be part of the these exams since Headmaster Claudio only wants obedience from the Faunus students, not intelligence. So they had been excluded from the tests. Name's Barbara Forest. I believe I haven't met you at the Girls Campsite." Barbara shake hands with Harriet then Adam.
Both introduced themselves.
"You're from Rabbit Town I heard?" Barbara asked.
"Born and raised. My parents were big into rabbit hunting, not Rabbit Faunus to be clear." Harriet quickly rephrase herself. "And where are you from?"
"I'm also from Vale. Roetown. Famous for deer hunting." Barbara takes pride.
Harriet smiles. "Ah! You're a couple towns away from me! And what about you cutie?" Harriet back pats Adam.
Adam stutters. "Born from Vale. Raised at Mistral at my workplace. Schnee Dust Company."
"Oh, you're a worker boy. Good decent life." Barbara seems impressed.
"Cattle!" Lucifer calls out Adam. "I hope you get to watch the magnificent of I." Lucifer seems himself as a higher person.
"Good day, Luci!" Adam casually waves at Lucifer.
Lucifer is annoyed. "It's Lucifer!" He used his Semblance to fly up to Adam. "It's either that or Mr. Angelo to you!"
"Sorry, Mr. Angelo." Adam quickly apologizes.
Winter walks by then noticed Lucifer, Barbara, Harriet and Adam. Curious, she walks up to them with grace.
"Lucifer, who is this Faunus?" Winter looks questionable at Adam for being a Faunus. Adam noticed who she is. He softly bows. "At least this one is well mannered." Winter seems slightly impressed of Adam.
Harriet doesn't look impressed at all. "And who the hell is this big busted bimbo?" Muttering to herself.
"That's Winter Schnee." Barbara tell her.
Lucifer signs. "This is Adam Taurus. The thing that broke the Archangel."
"Thus the ending of our arrange marriage, because his interference." Winter said.
Adam realize what he did. "I apologize on ruining your marriage plans." Adam bows again.
"It's alright." Winter snap her finger. A butler came by to present Adam flowers. "I told Lucifer here that I would give you flowers. So I'm a woman of my word."
Adam was confused but fluster over it. "As a Schnee should be."
"Now let's join my fellow classmates." Winter said to them all.
"Don't you mean our fellow classmates?" Harriet corrects her. Winter looks back at her then continue to walk away. This pissed Harriet off. "That stuck up bitch!"
"But she's right. We shouldn't be late for the opening ceremony." Lucifer agrees with Winter.
All of them walk to the main hallway then continue to follow them all while holding flowers.
They had enter the main room where the stage had been presented with chairs been placed, but divided. Majority of the chairs up front are Humans, while the stairs reserved for the Faunus are placed at the back with soldiers behind it.
"Hope I'll see you later, Ms. Bree. Ms. Forest." Adam bows to them both before walking to his reserved seat.
Sitting down next to Kaguya who noticed the flowers. "Already getting admirers?" Kaguya said with a gleeful tone.
"Not exactly." Adam replies. "Interesting people though." Adam comments about the recent two he had met.
"Is that so?" Kaguya smiles.
"Ladies and gentlemen, and Faunus,. Please rise for the Headmaster of Atlas. Claudio feu de I'enfer." Speakers made an announcement.
The lights turned off, and only a spotlight for the Headmaster to make his way down the stairs.
6'4". Black hair with silver lining. Wearing a three piece suit with a robe and a lavish religious scarf.
He walked down the stairs and walking around the students. Eyes shifting from seeing multiple potential Huntsmen and Huntresses, but as Adam watches with the rest of the other 39 Faunus, the Headmaster didn't bother on giving them a look as he's walking up to the stage.
Standing in front of all of the other students, double tapping the microphone before speaking with his commanding deep voice that send shiver to anyone spines.
"Good morning, to you all. Huntsmen. Huntresses. Faunus. To some of you, you may have know me through all the years I have managed to interact with the high society of Atlas, and my commute with the civilians of Mantle. But to most of you who had decided to try and have the potential on becoming one of my students here in Atlas Academy. I'm the Headmaster, Claudio feu de I'enfer. Hailed from the Kingdom of Vale as an alter boy. I had fought my way to the top of Beacon Academy during it early years. Been a Professor here, one year before the name change from Alsius."
Claudio looks around as he sees any of the 'wasteful' potential to those who talk during the opening speech. His eyes glowed to heat up one of the talking student seats, causing them leap up out of the pain.
"My Semblance to you all, is called, Sacred Fire. Unlike most fiery based Semblance, which is under the Element Class, I have all control of the any kind of fire, and even body heat will betray you."
The student return to his seat, but not before he placed his hand to see if it cool down.
"Talk again, during this opening speech, I will have you thrown out of my Academy. Understood?"
Majority of the students nod while some had reply, which their throats felt like it been hit by a sore throat. Being lifted by their body heat and been tossed out of the room.
"I said; talk again, I will have you thrown out of my Academy. Perhaps try one of the other three Academies to apply for your licenses."
The door slams from the tossed out students.
"Now. To those who had know what's about to happen, but I'll let the others know. As a reminder to all. We do have our 40 Faunus that had been selected for their Initiation run. Traditional, we have our 40 Faunus Battle Royale where only 8 can move on into being my official students. And our Human students, they will have to go through a Relic Hunt where only three Teams can move on into my students. But this year, I had decided to make it interesting. Rather than a Relic Hunt, and since the Vytal Festival will be taking place at Vale. I will have five teams from the first year, to represent Atlas Academy. This is due of the recent Grimm attack across the Kingdom of Atlas, and other Atlas controlled territories. So rather than the traditional Relic Hunt. You will go through a Battle Royale of your own. Only 12 can move on. If the rest of you want to continue on being part of Atlas, Captain James Ironwood want me to remind you all that the Military Academy is open for those who haven't passed."
Claudio looks around to see the students.
"To the Human students, you shall have till tomorrow to prepare yourselves. And as for the Faunus, normally you got an entire month to prepare but I'll reschedule your battle royale by one week of tomorrow. But if some of you Faunus want to experience the only time you'll be here at Atlas, I recommend on joining the Military Academy if you're eliminated or want to compete in exhibition matches with the twelve remaining students. But if the Faunus do compete against the welcoming students, you will be exposing yourselves to your opponents at the Battle Royale. Is there any questions?"
Kaguya raised her hand with the light cast down on her.
"Yes, Faunus?"
Kaguya stood up. "Will you be making the Teams after the Battle Royale? Or will that be taken at the different time?" She sat down.
"Excellence question, Faunus. It's the latter. Mostly at the end of the month, where I can have time on choosing the teams and color, which is a pain that I'm willingly to admit."
Barbara raised her hand. Stood up after the light cast down on her. "How will these battle royale rules will be determined?" Sits down.
"I'll have the rules announced on the morning of your competition."
Lucifer used his Semblance to get attention.
Claudio take great offense of his usage. Pulls Lucifer in by his own fire. Grabbing his shirt and placed him up close.
"Ever use your Semblance like that in front of me again, I will burn you alive."
Claudio warns him then push him back by a fire pulse, then managed to sits him down.
"What is your question, Mr. Angelo?"
Lucifer stood up but been forced back down. "Do we get to choose who we fight at those fights at the weekend?"
"Yes."
Adam raised his hand.
"Yes, Faunus?"
Claudio turns to Adam and the light cast down on him.
"I'm honestly concerned but what happen if death accidentally did occur during these Battle Royales?" Adam is shaking over the idea.
"I will have medical staff on standby when injuries happen. And if anything did happen to that degree, not only the participant will not be permitted into my Academy, but also will be arrested on the spot and will be send away to the Nine Prisons. Perhaps the one located at Vacuo where the wrathful sandstorm will forever keep them at bay. But not for the Faunus. If any of you do commit such thing, then feel free to do so. You're all savages in the end, and you will rely on your instincts. I will not waste proper resource to save a wounded animal. And if they do managed to make their way back to the safe place, then you'll be transported back to Mantle where you can have proper medical assistance. And if any of you feel like this is discrimination, but you should be more grateful that I decided to keep the Faunus Battle Royale rather than bringing back the Reindeer Games in order to use as our Faunus Initiation."
A small Dog Faunus boy, tail. 4'11". White hair. Cherry pink eyes. As a short sleeve shirt with vest. Shorts with a side coat tail. Shoes with socks. He raised his hand.
"What is the Reindeer Games?" He nervously asked.
"It's an old traditional to us Atlas. It was named after after Big Nicholas' Faunus companion, Robert Rednose, a Reindeer Faunus. We release 40 Faunus at a facility, and it's an hour long event with the surviving Faunus gets the opportunity of being considered as students of Atlas Academy. Whether they lived or not, that's up to the potential human students, which if their Auras break, they are considered not welcome to my Academy. But due of the Faunus Rights, and other Kingdoms want diversity, so I came up with the Battle Royale concept, hence being treated as... somewhat equals. Any other questions?"
Claudio looked around to see everyone else is minding their questions.
"Good. Now, feel free to get to know each other. Human or Faunus, this might be the only time you want to get to know each other before beating each other. Good day to you all."
Claudio leaves the room while everyone else is waiting for him to return to his office.
