What do you know about Robert Rednose? He was the youngest Reindeer Faunus from a pack of nine. He was the best friend of Big Nicholas Schnee. Throughout their time together, even training together, they had established the very first unity between Faunus and Humans at Mantle. A secret unity between the two, even rumors of a private wedding between Nicholas and Miracle Schnee, Robert had been the best man to Big Nicholas. They were the best of friends.

From a short side note, his wife, Miracle Schnee been called a witch but been outcast by others. All but one.
It was here, after the honeymoon between Nicholas and Miracle, Robert had been plotting against him for years. He and his eight older brothers, were plotting on taking over the Schnee Dust Company from the inside. Robert had formed this plan after Big Nicholas had offer his hand, as what a generous man would had done.
I wouldn't be honest, but I'm willingly to admit that even Big Nicholas is much a bigger man than I.
Robert managed to pick out the right spots, and moments to sneak himself into the company. So the Eight Brothers were wondering around the mines of Mantle to find the one Grimm that had slowly getting powerful, Krampus.
Robert and the Eight Brothers managed to lure in Nicholas and 39 other Huntsmen and Huntresses to their deaths when they fought the Krampus. Nicholas and few surviving others had managed to kill the Krampus. This had shocked the Brothers and swore that they'll bring down the so-called "evil" Nicholas Schnee.
I don't have the records on why they think that Big Nicholas is "evil" so I'm gonna be assuming from here. Must be from Nicholas father and his treatment towards Faunus. That's my only guess so far.
There were rumors that Nicholas, from that fight with Krampus, had cause him to fall ill. Nicholas had requested his best friend and his wife with their newborn daughter, Willow to his side. To him, they bring him life, and purpose to press forward.
Nicholas continues on working both as a miner and a Huntsman till Robert had made a camping trip to celebrate their youth one more time. So only Nicholas, Miracle and Robert went out for one final camp out, but it was a trap. The Reindeer Faunus had separated both Schnee Family members in order to fight them.
Nicholas and Robert fought, while Miracle fought the Brothers for 33 hours straight. They had fought out at the empty mines till Robert had managed to strike the blow to keep Nicholas down while Miracle was struck down on the 34th hour. They had butchered Miracle down to the point of no longer being recognized. Robert and the Eight Brothers leaves Nicholas with glee as Grimm ignores them in order to circle Nicholas.
Nicholas had given up and was ready to leave everything behind, but the light from Miracle had cast one more light in order to kill all of the Grimm before creating the Northern Lights as it disappeared on that day. Nicholas pick up whatever left of Miracle.
At Miracle's funeral, Nicholas didn't want anyone or even his daughter to see the body. But during that night, the northern lights had appear. It reminds him of his wife, when they first met. But unlike that time, there's a blue star that came up to him. A hooded woman, tells Nicholas that his wife will be okay. He asked on who she is? She replies as Fria, an old friend of his wife, here to carry on her purpose.
After that night, Nicholas had fought the toughest day of his life. The Krampus illness. Nicholas fought and fought, and even raising his daughter alone, he had regain his strength. He told his daughter that he's gonna talk to her uncle. About the problems. With murder in his eyes, he had traveled across Mantle to find his old friend.
On the first day of December, he met the Eight Brothers. They were plotting on bringing the Faunus to take over Mantle to make it their Kingdom. Both sides had engaged in a fight that lasted for 12 days.
To him, on the 25th Day of December, he managed to find him. Robert came out, to reveal that he too had managed to catch the Krampus Illness. This shocked Nicholas as he was originally was planning on killing Robert, but Robert was begging to spare him while he crawls up to Nicholas.
Robert noticed his sword and blood, realize that his judgement had come. He then finally accepted his fate and then kneel down to his once upon a time best friend. Prepared to kill Robert, but Nicholas drop his sword and embraced him. Robert felt something different but couldn't put it together. Nicholas help him back to his home. Willow was scared to see her uncle, and Nicholas had help Robert to get back to health while raising Willow alone.
Robert felt loved and was completely wrong of the "evil" Nicholas Schnee, then during the time he had managed to get up, he helps out on raising Willow. During the times as he had spend with Willow, telling stories of her father. Telling her that he was the Winter Knight to the people of Mantle. He had became his Weiss Savior even when he was the sole reason why her mother is now living up at the Whitley Meadows.
Robert for once in his Faunus life, had felt guilt and remorse. Not only for conspiring against Nicholas, but also being a Faunus in general.
Robert had secretly decided to write not only an apology letter to Nicholas, but also wanted to redeem whatever is left of their friendship. So he had forge Nicholas signature and tell the Council of the time on making other Faunus to follow his footsteps to redemption. Thus the Reindeer Games.
The Reindeer Games was based on the first time he had betrayed Nicholas against the Krampus, so only 40 Faunus can start and whoever survive are redeemed by Human society. The games had continue on, and even some deaths had occur, but the last one was held one month before Big Nicholas had passed away.
To this day, I wanted to redeem the Faunus and continue the Reindeer Games since they're only here for servitude, but Big Nicholas had one order to whomever the Headmaster of Atlas, in return to the Eight Brothers he had slayed, he want 8 Faunus students to be accepted in Atlas. So for once, I felted the conflict; the redemption of Faunus by hosting the Reindeer Games or the generosity of Big Nicholas? So I went with the latter.
That is the history of the Reindeer Games. With a slight history with his relationship with the Schnee Family. As much I don't really like either decisions, so I had combined both ideas, the unity of their friendship. The redemption of the Faunus by having 40 compete while only accepting 8 Faunus into Atlas Academy.
