Here is a brief explanation beforehand.

In this scenario, Gladys has not yet bought the Cooper house and the Cooper house didn't catch fire. I'm trying my best to write around The Farm. It is difficult to include so many factors in one story. So I do apologize if I mix something up.

And there it was. The two lines took Alice back to exactly 30 years ago. She thought to herself, 'How could I be in this situation again.' She still hadn't thought about how she felt, only that FP should know this time. She puts her jacket on, grabs her keys and purse, then heads for the door. During the short car ride to the sheriff's station, all she could think of is how she would tell him. Alice had the perfect plan laid out in her mind, but when she opened FP's office door everything vanished.

FP had not noticed Alice's figure in the doorway yet. After a few seconds of silence, Alice decides to step into his office gaining his attention. FP glances upward from his stack of paperwork to see Alice looking slightly disheveled, but still maintaining her Northside composure. He stands up from his desk, "Alice… What are you doing here?" She doesn't say anything, just maintains eye contact. FP breaks the ice, "I swear I didn't even know she was here un Riverdale."

Alice sighs and switches her brain from the test to the house. "Listen FP, I want you to know that the house means nothing to me," she walks closer to his desk but refuses to sit. FP and Alice are silent, letting her words stew. Alice tries to slowly change the subject, "I wish I could say the same about you and Gladys."

Stunned FP tries to explain, "Alice, uh…" FP looks into Alice's eyes which start to glaze over with a layer of tears, "She and I… we're still married."

Alice stumbles over her words, "Yea- Gladys left you and Jughead don't forget that."

"That was my fault," FP talks over, "I was a no-good husband and a rotten father."

Alice tilts her and asks honestly, "Do you love her, FP?"

Silence sweeps the office and the only response FP can find is, "She's the mother of my children."

Taking in his answer, a tear rolled down her cheek, "And me?" Alice pauses to catch her breath, "Do you love me?"

FP tries hard not to answer with the truth. "It doesn't matter now," FP bows his head down hoping to not make eye contact with her, "It's over. I'm sorry."

Alice doesn't say anything, but by leaving, her thoughts are loud. Defeated, FP slams his hand on his desk and throws a mug holding his pencils and pens. The mug shatters on the floor into a million small pieces. He sits down frustrated while Alice walks speedily out of the sheriff's office to her car. As soon as she closed her car door, Alice screams and breaks into a stream of tears. Driving was difficult as her vision was clouded by the tears pouring out of her eyes. During the drive, it started pouring rain.

Alice opens the door to her home where Hal currently is not living. Alice doesn't pay mind to Betty's absence and strides up the stairs to her empty bed. Alice curls up into a ball and continues to sob. An unknown length of time passes when she hears Betty open and close the door. Alice tries to silence her cries but is unsuccessful.

Betty knocks quietly, "Hey Mom…" Betty comes into her room further, "What's going on?"

"Nothing, Elizabeth. Nothing," Alice stuffs her face in a pillow to spare herself from embarrassment.

Betty sits at the end of her bed and lays her hand on her arm as a show of support, "Why are you crying…?"

Alice turns to face Betty and sits up slowly, "I'm…" She looks at her nightstand where the test is in the drawer, "I can't- I don't know how to tell you…"

"Tell me what?" Betty's confusion is building.

Alice sighs and leans towards the drawer. Opening the drawer Betty can already see the test. Alice takes it out and shows her, "I'm pregnant, Elizabeth."

Betty's face is frozen with her mouth open and wide eyes. Betty takes time to respond, "Is it… Is it Dad's?"

Alices shakes her head, "No. No…" Alice falls on her back and starts to cry harder, "It's not your father's. It's FP's. I tried to talk and he… He just…" Alice sinks into her neatly stacked pillows.

"You and-" Betty is digesting this new information while also trying to help her mother, "Mr. Jones!" Alice starts slipping back into her spiral. Betty puts her feelings aside and stands up swiftly. "I'm starting a hot shower," she begins barking out her orders while Alice slowly pays attention, "You are going to take some time to relax. I will make your bed and lay out new pajamas." Betty makes direct eye contact, "Okay?"

Alice nods her head and slowly stands up wiping her ruined mascara off her cheeks. Betty goes into the shower and starts it. Alice slowly makes her way into the shower and continues to cry.

Partially angry and still processing she takes the liberty to call FP. While Alice showers, Betty sits on her bed and opens her call list, and clicks on 'Mr. Jones.' FP answers, "Hello-"

"Mr. Jones, I don't know what happened between you and my mother, but whatever you said has her in shambles," Betty scolded him.

Trying to speak he stumbles over his words, "Betty wha-"

She cuts him off, "First off, my mother deserves someone better than you in every way. Secondly, how dare you. How dare you not listen to her."

"Betty, I swear I-" FP is cut off again.

"With all due respect Mr. Jones, get your ass over here and listen to her. You will regret it more than she will," Betty hangs up the phone without letting him get a response in. Betty hears Alice shut the water off in the shower. Betty lays back in her bed finally being able to process the news.

Alice finishes drying herself off and slips into her silk pajamas. Just about to get into bed she hears the doorbell ring. Waiting for Betty to get it she hears another ring. The ringing turns into knocking. Alice rolls her eyes and says sarcastically, "Thank you, Elizabeth for your help with the door."

Coming down the stairs to the entrance she can see the top of FP's head through the glass. She rushes to the door and smooths out her shirt still trying to look her best despite what he had said before. Alice swings the door open, "F-"

Not even finishing his name he lands a kiss on her. He wraps his arms around her waist and her arms rest on his stubbly jaw. The kiss, so passionate caused Alice to take a few steps back into the house with FP following.
