Joel, Tommy, Enid, and Abby galloped down the snow-covered forest path from a horde of infected.

Any chance they could, they shot as many of them as they could.

They soon find Abby's camp and run through the open gates. Abby's friends close the iron gate and shoot at the on-coming horde.

Enid pulled on the reins to Dusty, pulling him to a stop. She then jumped down from her horse along with Abby.

Joel and Tommy jump down from their horses.

When they got the gates closed, they throw molotovs at the horde. They were ordered to save their ammo.

"Let's get inside," a guy about Abby's age ordered.

Enid led Dusty by his bit, petting him while they walked. Joel and Tommy led their horses and stayed close to Enid.

They all went inside and tied the horses to a pipe that was in the garage.

For some reason, Enid felt on edge just being around these people. She didn't know why she felt like she couldn't trust these people.

She looked over at her dad and uncle. They were talking to some of the other people in Abby's group.

"You wanna get those saddles off?" a woman asked. "No, no, that's alright. We'll just ride out the storm and get out of your hair," Joel answered them.

"Y'all got any brushes or a towel or something?" Tommy asked.

Enid swallowed a large lump in her throat, still feeling uneasy. She had seen that look on Abby's face before they escape infected.

They walk into another room of the lodge, the lounge area.

"How long you all been here?" Tommy asked.

"Since yesterday," another man replied.

Enid scratched the back of her head and stayed close to her father.

"So... why are you guys up here?" Enid asked them. "Oh, just passing through. You three live nearby?" the same man asked.

"Yeah, just a few hours down the hill. Y'all should come back with us. Restock before you head out," Tommy said, offering them supplies.

"Appreciate it," a woman with short hair said, "I'm Mel, by the way,"

Tommy shook Mel's hand. "Tommy. This is my brother and niece: Joel and Enid," Tommy introduced them.

Enid looked around, seeing that these people were now staring at them intensely.

There was a tightening feeling in her stomach. "Y'all act like you've heard of us or something," Joel said, noticing how they were all staring at them.

Enid slowly started to reach for her pistol, seeing this was a threat.

"'Cause they have," Abby said, holding up a shotgun. She pulled the trigger, shooting Joel in the knee.

He fell over onto the ground face first. "NO!" Tommy cried out, punching the closest person to him, but he was quickly grabbed by the arms.

A black girl used her gun to pistol whip Tommy on his head, knocking him out.

"NOOO! YOU MOTHER FUCKERS!" Enid shouted as she watched her father getting shot and seeing her uncle getting hit in the head.

She pulled out her pistol and tried to shoot Abby but two of Abby's people grabbed Enid by the arms.

"Get the fuck off me! Leave them alone!" Enid shouted, fighting the people who held her. She tried using her knife, but one of those people hit her on the head, making her fall to the floor.

She blacked out for a minute before she woke up, head bleeding. Blood ran down the right side of her face, covering her right eye; She could barely see.

"He's out!" the black girl shouted, keeping her gun aimed at Tommy's head.

"Put him against the wall," Abby ordered. Joel groaned in dire pain and he looked over at his brother and daughter.

"Tommy... Enid..." he groaned, feeling himself getting pulled by two other people by the arms, "Get off me! Get off me! Aahh!"

"D-Dad..." Enid whimpered, only to get a few harsh kicks to her stomach and ribs

.

"AGH!" she cried out, a look of pain on her face. "You leave my daughter out of this!" Joel shouted at them, knowing that there was little he could do to help her because of his knee.

"¡Puta madre!" a hispanic man a dark beard swore, holding Joel by his right arm.

Abby knelt down in front of Joel, a look of anger on her face. "Joel... Miller. And she's Enid Johnson," Abby said, glancing over at Enid, who glared at her through her blood covered eyes.

"Who are you?" Joel scowled, glaring at her. Joel looked over at his daughter and brother for a minute. "Why don't you say whatever speech you've got rehearsed and get this over with?" he spat at her.

Abby stood up, still holding her shotgun in her hands. "Tourniquet his leg. Do it!" Abby ordered.

The other guy holding Joel tightened his grip on Joel's other arm. Somebody, although Enid couldn't see, bandaged Joel's leg.

"God... dammit!" he groaned, trying his best to not scream. "L-Leave him alone! Stop it, god dammit!" Enid shouted, trying to get up. But she was pushed back down to the floor and this time, she was held down by four hands.

Tears started to sting her eyes. "Clear out!" Abby shouted at her group. She then grabbed a golf club from the corner of the room.

The men that were holding Joel to the wall moved away from him.

She raised the golf club and aimed it at Joel. "You stupid old man... you don't get to rush this," Abby said angrily, swinging the golf club at Joel's head.

"No! What are you doing?!" Enid cried out, struggling to get loose.

Meanwhile, Ellie galloped through the blizzard and down a snowy forest path.

"Joel! Tommy! Enid!" Ellie called, but got no response. She pulled on the reins and got off of Shimmer. "Oh, shit," she swore, tying her horse to a tree.

She moved down the hill and saw Abby's camp. She saw the burnt bodies of the infected on the outside of the gate.

"How do I get down there? Okay, Shimmer..." she asked herself, trying to find a way down.

"C'mon, please be okay... Joel! Tommy! Enid!" Ellie called out in sheer panic. She managed to make her way down to the cabin, hoping that nothing happened.

"You're okay... You're okay," she whispered to herself, her stomach in knots. "There it is... Joel! Tommy! Enid!" she shouted again.

Ellie found a way inside the house, seeing how dark it was. When she went in there, she could hear distant screams of pain accompanied by Enid's shouts.

"Where is that coming from?" Ellie asked herself, getting her gun out.

She hears more cries of pain coming from downstairs. "No! Stop!" Enid's shouted from downstairs.

Ellie's heart jumped up into her throat. She followed those screams downstairs. They were louder ten-fold.

"Fuck..." she cursed under her breath, hearing more shouting from Enid along with a pained cry from not only her but Joel as well.

She shakily approached the basement door and she opened it, seeing Abby beating Joel with that iron golf club.

Enid could barely see Ellie coming through the basement door. "E-Ellie! Run!" she shouted through the pain in her ribs, abdomen, and head.

Ellie's eyes widened when she saw this and she tried to shoot the first person in front of her.

However, a guy with a cap grabbed her by the arm, disarming her.

Ellie grabbed her switchblade and slashed his face and three other people pin her to the ground.

"Pin her down!" the black girl shouted. "Get off me!" Ellie shouted, struggled to get up. "Get her hands!" the same girl ordered.

"Get the fuck off me!" Ellie shouted again. The guy who was slashed on the face by Ellie stomped over to her and he kicked her many times in the stomach.

"Bitch!" he roared as he did this. Enid saw this and she, once again, tried to get up. "You leave her alone, you motherfucker!" she roared.

"You shut the fuck up!" the same man shouted, slamming Enid's head off the floor, making her feel so dizzy.

This angered Ellie even more. "AGH! YOU'RE GONNA FUCKING DIE!!!" Ellie roared, having fire in her eyes.

"What's going on?" one of the guys that held Joel asked.

"Let them go! Let them go!" Ellie shouted at them, facing Joel.

"Who is that?" Mel asked. "She snuck in," the black girl said.

"Why aren't you posted up outside?" the man who held Joel asked.

"We didn't think anybody was going to show up," The black girl replied.

"The hell did you except? We gotta get out of here before the whole town's on top us. *Looks at Abby* You're done," he said.

"You know what I want, right?" Abby spat at him.

The guy leaned closer to her. "End it. Now," he said.

Abby looked away from him and she faced Joel, who was barely breathing.

Ellie, who had tears in her eyes, was begging Joel to get up.

"Joel... get up. Joel, fucking get up! Enid... get up! Fucking get up!" she begged through a sob. Enid was barely conscious, but she could hear her best friend begging for her and Joel's lives.

Enid managed to move her head so she could look in Ellie's direction, blood covered the right side of her face, covering her eye.

"E-Ellie..." she weakly said, breathing heavily.

"Please stop! Please don't do this... Joel, please get up!" Ellie shouted.

However, Abby swung the golf club hard again, cracking Joel's skull open.

"NOOOOO!!!" Ellie screamed, sobbing hysterically.

"Burn in hell, pendejo," the man with beard said, spitting on him.

"I'll fucking kill you... No!" Ellie swore, weakly struggling.

Abby glared down at Ellie, going over to Enid. "No! NO, DON'T TOUCH HER!!!" Ellie screamed, not wanting her best friend to die too.

Abby was about to kill Enid too, even the men that held her down moved. However, Abby was stopped by the man, whose name was Owen.

"She's had enough. Come on, we need to go," he tells her. Abby glared down at Enid before looking at a sobbing Ellie, throwing the blood-covered golf club to the side.

Ellie couldn't hear what they were saying because of a loud ringing in her ears.

The guy that Ellie cut walked over and kicked Ellie in the face, knocking her out instantly.

When Ellie woke up, she saw Dina standing above her.

"Ellie! Ellie? I'm sorry... Jesse! They're down here!" Dina shouted, running up to get Jesse.

Ellie managed to crawl over to Enid and she picked her up in her arms. Enid had passed out in Ellie's arms.

Ellie was so afraid she was gonna lose Enid too... How would she take it when she hears about Joel dying?

And we made it passed the part that had everybody in tears. I honestly didn't think that Joel was dead until they showed his grave stone.

Good job, game. You made me actually cry.
