(Later that Night...)
Enid had woke up on Tommy's bed, feeling very sore. "Ow..." she groaned, feeling her head aching badly. She pushed herself upwards on the soft bed.
She had a big bruise on her face from where she was hit.
Tommy walked through the room to check on her. "You're awake," he said, sitting down next to his niece.
"How're you feeling?" he asked. "Sore as hell. Why am I so sore?" she asked, vaguely remembering what had happened.
Tommy looked away from her, looking like he was about to cry.
"Uncle Tommy? What happened? Where's Dad? Is he okay?" she asked, now worried for her father.
"They... They killed him," he answered. Enid was shocked, now remembering what happened now.
"No... No, they didn't! Dad, no!" she sobbed, tears running down her face.
Tommy hugged her gently, so he wouldn't hurt her. "No..." she sobbed.
He couldn't be dead... He couldn't be. "Ellie... where's Ellie?" she asked, now worried for her best friend.
"She's sleeping. She was worried about you," Tommy said, rubbing her back.
"Yeah, I knew she would be... I'm glad she's okay..." Enid replied, wiping her eyes.
She gets up from the bed and she walked over to the master bathroom, looking in the mirror.
She thought of Abby and thought of the punishment she deserves.
"I'm going to Seattle. Tonight," she said, walking back into the bedroom.
Tommy was flabberghasted. "You do that, we'll be leaving Jackson vulnerable," he said to her.
"Uncle Tommy, if it were you, me, or Ellie, you know Dad would be halfway to Seattle already," Enid said, sounding more serious.
"What about Ellie? What would she think?" Tommy asked, standing up.
"She might try to follow me. I know her too well," Enid said, getting her stuff gathered up.
"You're still healing. Besides, you don't have any idea what you're walking into. And neither does Ellie," Tommy said, trying to reason with her.
"Look, I don't give a fuck. You ain't talking me out of it. You can tell Ellie where I've gone because she won't stop until she knows where I am," she said, getting her gun and knife.
Tommy knew how stubborn Enid could be. She would not change her mind about going after Abby.
Tommy stared at her and he got up from the bed. He walked over to his niece and hugged his niece. She hugged him back and sniffled, trying not to cry.
"I'll talk to Ellie. Maria is gonna give her some food. Do you want to take some with you?" Tommy asked as they break the hug.
"Yeah, I'll take some with me. Ellie will be upset that I left and I know she'll come after me," Enid said, wiping her eyes.
Tommy smiled and started to walk out of the room. "Oh, Uncle Tommy?" Enid called. Tommy back around and looked at her.
"Yeah?" he said. "Can you tell Maria to not let Ellie come after me? I know she's capable of taking care of herself. It's just... I don't want her to get hurt. And I know you're gonna go too," she said, rubbing the back of her neck.
"I'll do that, Enid," Tommy said with a smile. Enid watched as Tommy left the room.
When Tommy left, Enid picked up her backpack and made sure her pistol was loaded. She put her knife in her pocket. She walked out of the room and went down the stairs of Tommy's house.
She walked to the stables after she got her food from Maria and Tommy. "We're gonna make those bastards pay for all of this," Enid said to the two animals.
Dusty huffed with a head shake. Enid smiled for a second before remembering Ellie. She knew Ellie would be upset that she took off on her own.
She pulled Dusty out of the stables and led him to the entrance. The gates opened and Enid mounted Dusty and took ahold of the reins.
Enid looked back at Jackson one last time, thinking that she should tell Ellie about going to Seattle.
She looked forward again and looked down with a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry, Ellie..." she said to herself.
She then gently kicked Dusty in the ribs. "Let's go, Dusty," she said, feeling the palamino horse canter forward until she was out of sight.
(Ellie)
Meanwhile, Ellie is sitting on her bed, in shock of what had happened. She can't wake up and look at the emptiness on her bed.
Someone knocks on the door. Ellie gets up from the bed, hoping that it was Enid.
However, when she opens the door, she sees that it's Tommy, who was holding a box.
"Hey," he said. "Hey. Where's Enid?" she asked.
Tommy looked down for a minute as he walked inside. "She's... She's fine, Ellie. But... she left Jackson to find them. *Hands Ellie the box* Maria wants to make sure you're eating," Tommy said, sitting on the couch.
Ellie sat down with Tommy on the couch. "What do you mean she left? Why didn't she tell me that she was leaving?" Ellie asked, flabberghasted that Enid just up and left.
"I told her she shouldn't go. And neither should you," Tommy replied.
Ellie looked over at him in disbelief. "So... they just get to get away with this? If it were her, me, or you, Joel would be going to Seattle," Ellie said.
"Yeah, that's what she told me. And no he wouldn't. Besides, what if we get hit by hunters again?" Tommy replied, his tone firm.
"Is this you talking or Maria?" Ellie exclaimed. "It's a valid point!" Tommy replied, raising his voice a bit.
"Look, I'm leaving tomorrow. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find her and we can get those fucking WLF's. And if you want to come with me, great," Ellie replied, getting up from the couch.
"I told her that she has no idea what she or you are walking into. You two don't have any idea how large that group is, how armed-" Tommy said, warning her about that group.
"I don't care. You're not talking me out of this. I bet Enid's out of Jackson by now and is God knows where by now," she said seriously.
Tommy gets up to his feet and goes to hug Ellie, who cried.
"Okay... Okay..." he said, pulling back from her. He then left Ellie's room, shutting the door behind him.
