Nothing worked. They got Lightning McQueen who was hanging out around the outskirts of the town. Told him to try and ram into the tunnel, and the car didn't go trough. He just got bounced back, and nearly slammed into Luz, who was behind him, if James hadn't pulled her away. "Luz! Are you ok?!" Amity gasped, then quickly ran to her. "Yeah, I'm fine." Luz said, with a small smile at her. "But this didn't work!" She threw her hands up, looking at the tunnel entryway. "Hey, don't sweat it, let's try another Toon." James said.
And they did-
They got Elsa, who starred in Frozen.
"Ok, Elsa try your magic!" Luz said.
Elsa put her hands infront of her, arching her back, and her ice shards shot out of her hands, and slammed a freezing cold ice blast. But the ice just took form of the invisible wall, and wouldn't penetrate. She pushed more, and more, but it wouldn't budge. "Ok Elsa, stop! Don't hurt yourself!" Amity yelled. Elsa let go, and her ice fell. "I'm sorry guys." Elsa sadly said to them. Amity got out her phone. "Oh come on..." She said. Luz pecked over her shoulder. "Hm... what's wrong?"
"No signal..." She said. "Wait... You guys have phones?" James asked. He was suprised, because Amity had a phone, that belongs to Samsung. He's 100% sure Amity doesn't have a phone in the show, and even if she did, it wouldn't say Samsung on it for copyright reasons. Plus the phone was 3D, and not 2D like Amity. "Oh yeah!" Luz said. "We don't use it in our show of course, we use it outside our acting."
Amity nodded. "Yeah, to call our creators if we need help. Like, in an emergency...like what is happening right now."
"Oh! I see! But that's a great idea, why don't yo-"
"James, I can't! I don't have any signal-"
"O-Oh... uh, Luz? Do you have a phone?" James asked. Luz reached into her pocket, and pulled out her own phone. She turned it on then, shook her head. "Nope, sorry guys."
James sighed. "Geez, what's happening? Why is everything going weird?" James looked back at the tunnel. He felt hopeless. He needed to leave. He was supposed to be home hours ago. "My parents are probably worried sick..." James said outloud. He turned his head back to Luz and Amity and they both looked at him sadly. "I'm sorry James. But... no matter how long it takes for us to get you home, you're safe in Toon Town."
James nodded. "Thanks." He said. James didn't even realize it was 10PM, until Luz said so. "Guys! Did you know it's literally 10:34?!"
Amity gasped. "J-James, did you even eat anything?"
"Uh... You mean dinner? Uh, no... That was why I was about to leave, before this entire invisible wall mess." James's stomach grumbled a little. "I am a little hungry."
"Well, never fear! There's a lot of food choices in Toon Town!" Luz said, then she grabbed his hand. James looked down at her paper 2d hand. "Huh, wh-AH!" James gasped as Luz pulled him. "LUZ WHERE ARE WE GOING?!"
Luz didn't stop running until they ran right back to the room where all the Toons where. She stopped, but poor James couldn't, and he bashed into a table and slammed onto the floor.
Trickster was still in the room, sitting against the wall, and watched the entire thing. It happened so suddenly, it caused him to chuckle. "Geez, I thought humans weren't capable of slapstick, the hell?" He giggled. James grunted as he pushed himself off of the floor. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" Luz said, and she quickly helped James up. "I seriously should stop doing that..."
"It's fine Luz, I'm fine." He said. Luz then looked at Trickster. "Hey, Trickster? Can you help find some grub for James's here?"
"Food? Are you sure a human can eat cartoon food?" James asked. "Of course they can! Haven't they before?"
"Well, definitely not the food from the boiling Isle.." Trickster said, getting off of the floor. Luz rolled her eyes. "You won't let go off of that will you?!" She yelled, pushing Trickster, who just laughed. James looked at Luz, then at Trickster. "W-What are you guys talking about?"
"Well, Luz here thought it was a good idea to give Apple Blood to a kid. A human kid." Trickster said with more laughter. Luz groaned, rubbing her face, in a rough matter. "How was I supposed to know it was gonna nearly end him up in the hospital!? He just wanted to try a drink from his favorite show!"
Now James was worried. "Uh... will that happen... to me?"
"What? No! No of course not! As long as it's something natural like apples or something.."
"Is blue milk ok to drink? Always wanted to try that." James said. Luz and Trickster blinked. "Blue... Milk?" Luz asked. "Is that a drink from my show...? Cause I surprisingly never heard of it."
"W-What? No, it's milk from a Bantha! You know, the 'cows' from Star Wars on planet Tatooine?" James said. He always wanted to actually try it, but never got the chance to meet up with the characters of Star Wars. "Oh... Star Wars? Heard of them, but never seen thier movies, or ever meet them here." Luz said.
"I tried it." Trickster said. James looked at him. "Ooh! You did?! Is it good?!" Trickster nodded at him. "It actually is! It's tasty, but I don't know how to get ahold of any now." He said. Luz nodded. "Yeah, lets try what's near here."
Just then, they heard panting. They all looked behind themselves, and saw an out of breath Amity. "Luz, why.. do you... run so DARN FAST?!" She yelled. "Amity! I'm sorry about that!" Luz said running to her.
Trickster just chuckled. James felt him lightly punch his shoulder playfully. "Let's leave them here to chat. Let's go find something to eat together."
James nodded.
"So, what was that all about?"
"Hm? What was what all about?" The Toon arched an eyebrow at James. "You keeping away from me? I know your sad and all that, but I really want to be your friend."
Trickster looked at him. "My friend?" He looked suprised. Then, he just slightly smirked. "I thought you hated me. You know, with the pies and stuff."
James shook his head, "I told you, I'm over that. That's just how you are. I really want to befriend you."
James saw that made Trickster blush a little, and his cheeks went gray. "Well, if that's all it takes, I want to befriend you too."
James smiled at him. Trickster chuckled. "Hey, here we are."
They where walking along Toon Town, up to a stand. "Hm? What's this? How I never seen this before?" James asked. "This recently got added."
They walked up to it, it looked like it was a food stand, but on it, was written in what seemed to be Japanese. A somewhat giant Toon was cooking, but it has it's back turned. "Japanese? Japanese food? Isn't Toon Town just western media?"
"Well, since some Anime gets added to film in America, some Anime characters come to visit us." Trickster said. "A-Anime?! You're telling me, this is an Ani-"
Just then the character turned around, a blueish animal looking creature, that smiled down at them.
James couldn't believe his eyes. "T-T-T-Totoro?! Trickster, it's A TOTORO FROM STUDIO GHIBLI?!" James exclaimed, totally fanboying. Trickster got one look at James's face, and busted out laughing. "W-What?!" James exclaimed, now feeling like an idiot. "The look on your face!"
"Well?! Can you blame me!? I'm infront of- *GASSSP*!" The Totoro handed him a bowl of ramen, but not just any ramen. One look at it, caused James's body to nearly shut down.
Ramen in the style, shape, colors of what you'd see in a Studio Ghilbi movie. Anime food. It smelled amazing. "T-Thank you-" James said, taking it from him. The Totoro, did slight bow at him, and James returned the bow.
James and Trickster walked over to a nearby table. "I never saw someone fanboy like that before!" Trickster said, still laughing. "Ugh..." James rolled his eyes. "You're still going on with that...?" James put the fork in his mouth, then. "OHHH, this taste amazing!"
Trickster snorted. "It shouldn't taste THAT good."
"It is! Try it!" James said, putting the fork up to Trickster. He rolled his eyes, then opened his mouth. Lines shot out of his head, cartoon logic style, and his eyes widen. "Woah, that is!"
He took the fork from James, and took some more. "Hey, my soup!" James pouted, snatching the bowl back from Trickster. "Hey, I'm hungry too-" Trickster said, and his stomach growled. But, it grumbled in a cartoon way, and his stomach shook in a wavy like motion. James's face went a little red. "U-Uh, then get your own then-"
Trickster rolled his eyes. "Ugh, fine..." He got up from the table, then got one soup from the Totoro for himself. He walked back over. "Happy now?" Trickster asked. "Yes..." James said, eating his.
Trickster smiled then took a sip of his. "This..actually is really good. I never tried it. And I can see why it looks appealing. Looks better than what some humans can cook up."
James laughed. "Tell me about it!"
"So what do you do in your human life?" Trickster asked, setting his fork down. "I've been curious."
"Oh... well, I go to school."
"Well, like most humans. Got any friends?"
James shook his head. "No... Not everyone shares my love of old cartoons and anime." James's expression changed, and Trickster noticed. "Oh... I'm sorry about that." James shugged. "Ah, it's find Tricks. Who needs them? At least I got a knew friend my age, who happens to be a Toon, right?"
Trickster tilted his head. "Uh... who?"
James snorted. "You, you silly dork!"
Trickster chuckled. "Just some silly oblivious Toon humor for you."
"More like overused." James said with a giggle. "Hey, take that back!" Trickster giggled back.
