"Nifelheim requests a peace treaty, however there are terms for the peace"
"King Regis, I am but a humble visitor to your world, but I think...I think you should accept, you can't keep this fight up much longer and you know it"
"Then I shall indeed do so"
With that Regis sends his reply and the group would spend the next year making plans for Noctis to journey to Altissia to marry Lunafreya as part of the peace treaty
"Destiny, you're to go with my son and his friends"
"Understood"
"By the way, I heard that you received mail from Lunafreya again"
"Yes, I know of the prophecy, however Gentiana told Lunafreya that with my help there's a chance, a small one, but still a chance, to change things, however she's not sure how, and...what she's given me in enchanted in a way that doesn't make sense considering...things, however I won't deny it gives me comfort in that regards, though I won't tell you that enchantment due to it being personal"
"Understood"
"In any case I'll be ready, promise"
"I know you will"
And so soon enough the day that they were scheduled to leave came, and only a few days later while waiting for the boat to Altissia they learned that Insomnia had been attacked
"What happened?"
"Not sure"
Destiny grabs her necklace and speaks up
"There's a loyal Glaive out there that has the answers"
"How do you know Destiny?"
"We're connected through my powers"
"What do you mean?"
"He has a necklace like mine, that gives him access to some of my abilities"
A few days ago
"Glaive Ulric, before we go I want to give you this"
Destiny puts a necklace around Ulric's neck which confuses him
"What's this for?"
"If you need it you'll know, though I hope it isn't needed, this is simply a precaution"
"It's just a necklace though"
"Not quite, but I don't have the time to explain now, just...be careful okay, I don't trust Nifelheim"
"Understood"
Present
"We find Ulric, we find answers I hope"
"Then let's hope we find him alive and soon"
"Just one question, just how sure are you of Ulric's loyalties?"
"Positive, the necklace links the two of us together, it woke me up last night and I had a brief chat with Ulric and saw some of what he saw"
Last night
Destiny suddenly woke up and saw Insomnia being attacked and realized that the necklace she had given Ulric had activated, as such she made mental contact with him, making sure to keep military formality in mind since he was under enough stress as it was
"Ulric it's Kerenai, the necklace activating and waking me up means that you need it's powers, now then you have limited access to my abilities and they only last until sunrise, after that the necklace is only useful for letting me know that you're alive and also for mental contact so you need to use my powers and your time wisely, I won't contact you again unless you contact me I promise, so that I don't distract you, be careful and good luck"
Once she broke contact Destiny simply went back to sleep knowing that there was nothing else she could do
Present
"And that's basically what happened"
"I see, we head back and go from there"
"Right"
And so the group heads back to Insomnia and eventually meets up with Cor and Nyx
"Ulric, before you say anything you're welcome"
"I'm saying thanks anyways, and here's your necklace back"
Nyx handed Destiny her necklace back and then spoke to everyone
"I'm still shocked the necklace connected us mentally, and you were right the abilities did only last until sunrise, but as you suggested I was smart, I only used the shields and formed weapons that were like my khukris for the most part, I used your winds and energy ball one time each but it was either that or not succeed at all so I felt it was worth it"
"You could use all my weapons couldn't you?"
"Yeah, almost used the chains once I figured out I could form all the weapons you could but decided against it. How did you know how long they would last anyways?"
Cor was the one who spoke up though
"Through me actually, Regis never knew it but after she was given the necklaces by the Oracle she decided to do some tests once it was revealed she had her abilities back and one of those tests involved the necklace and if it could give someone else her abilities and for how long"
"Good thing too, also Regis did know about the test, primarily because the one time you had it you went missing, for six months, and were presumed dead, I had to be the one to tell him I was positive that you weren't and explain the necklace and how it linked us"
"And then Dave contacted Regis and let him know I was alive, but injured, having been in a coma for three of those six months"
"Yeah, didn't know that part, but I did know that you were alive, but the necklace isn't a tracker or a means of letting me know your general health, which is why you were presumed dead until I told Regis otherwise, and even then the general public wasn't informed of the truth until Dave contacted us"
"Oh, in any case there's much to be done"
"Right"
And so Noctis starts collecting the Royal arms and then the group heads their separate ways for the moment, a few weeks later the group was simply driving when all of a sudden they were stopped by a barrier and saw the Quintesson, and as such began to fight it but then all of a sudden Destiny growled
"Oh you have got to be kidding me, fine if that's the way you want to play it, then let's play"
All of a sudden the rest of the group heard an engine roaring but they couldn't do anything because there was a barrier around the four of them and all four knew this was Destiny's barrier especially because all of a sudden along with the barrier her swords changed and she started fighting the vehicle that had turned into a robot. Eventually she hit the robot in the chest and the sword disappeared immediately afterwords, but just then the Imperials joined in with the Quintesson and the Sharkticons and as such with a snap of her fingers the four suddenly had new weapons
"Those will handle both enemies"
Ten minutes into the fight Destiny suddenly froze and grinned and then spoke up in a loud voice
"Hey guys, you can focus on the Imperials, Hook and I got the Quintesson and Sharkticons"
The battle would end shortly after Hook joined the fight, though admittedly Hook was confused
"Explanations later big guy, in the meantime it's getting late and we need to get to a Haven"
"Uh...is your friend going to be okay without the protection of the Haven?"
"He'll be fine, for two reasons, one he's a giant robot, and two he won't be without protection"
Suddenly Destiny puts her hands around her neck and unhooked a charm that she had on her person for a while
"I've had this for the past six months from the Oracle, here Hook, take this and put it around your neck"
When Hook touched the necklace the necklace grew and he had the soft glow of the Haven's protection
"Now then I'll still sleep with you four but on occasion I'll sleep inside Hook and be perfectly safe"
"Let me guess tonight being one of those nights since he's family and you haven't seen him in a while?"
"Yes sir, with your permission"
"Granted"
Once alone Destiny switches languages
*Hook, how long have you been here?*
*A year and a half thereabouts, we've been looking for you ever since you disappeared during the fight, then one day I was doing my search in Saudi Arabia when suddenly a dimensional portal opened up in front of me and I ran through it in the hopes it would lead me to you. I was told by a voice in my head that you were here but that I wouldn't be able to meet you for a bit, then I was captured by Nifelheim and only just started being used in battle a month ago, I'm sorry I fought you and your friends but I didn't have a choice*
*I know Hook, I know, it's why I did what I did, so that I could free you from their control*
*Risky, but it worked after all, so, what's the plan anyways?*
Destiny sighs
*Now we make sure a prophecy doesn't happen the way it's supposed to, oh we're going to defeat the Starscourge, but without Noctis sacrificing his life to do so, how though is something I'm going to have to figure out on the fly I think*
*We'll do it together, now then once we get to a haven, or hotel do you want to sleep with me tonight and hear songs that you've missed since you disappeared on us?*
*Definitely, oh and by the way our situation means that I have rank over you and while Noctis has rank over me he also understands that when it comes to you he has no authority*
*How does he know that?*
*We discussed it recently, it's actually the same discussion I had with his father shortly after I began integrating with their military, before the fall of Insomnia*
*I was there, they used me as transportation but I was there and saw...things that I wish I never saw*
*Banish those thoughts if possible, I'll explain to Noctis and the others if you like, but I highly doubt that they'll blame you for your role in Insomnia's fall considering the situation*
*Okay, I leave it to you, I just hope you're right*
*I am Hook, promise, in the meantime though, I've missed you guys and talking in Cybertronian*
*There hasn't been much going on with the family Destiny, all we've been doing since you disappeared is looked for you, even on allied planets, and by the way I have zero comms with the group back home, tried and failed at least once a week since I wound up here*
*For me it's once a month but I also can't contact our family*
*Then it's simply the two of us alone against everything that our enemies can throw against us, you know that Nifelheim has allied with family enemies right?*
*Oh yeah, had a few fights against them over the years, including our recent fight against you*
*In any case though there's still things that you guys need to discuss, including your ultimate destination, I'm surprised we've been allowed this much private time actually, even with us using Cybertronian to keep it pseudo private*
*I think they knew I needed this desperately and thus gave us the time we needed to just...talk by ourselves, but still we should let them know we're done talking for the moment so that we can get to a haven or town for safety*
And so the group makes it to a haven and that night Destiny sleeps inside Hook as a means of reminding herself that she was with family again for the first time in just over three years, she still woke up twice in the middle of the night thinking being with family again was a dream but being in Hook's cab helped her calm down quickly
The next day she joined the others for breakfast and it was Noctis who broke the silence
"So, how was last night?"
"Some of the best sleep I've had in the past three years without drugs making sure I sleep, I woke up twice but quickly settled down in the knowledge that what I was dreaming of was actually real, even if it's only one family member I'm with family again"
"I'm sure that was nice, in any case Destiny I still need some royal arms and then, then we figure out how to get to Altissia"
"Right"
Two weeks later in the middle of battle Destiny suddenly switched languages
*Hook get those four out of here now!*
*But...*
*That's an order mister, keep them safe*
Hook winces but ultimately obeys once she was sure they were a safe distance away Destiny used a dangerous and devastating attack
"Arranyan explosion"
Meanwhile Noctis was arguing with Hook about leaving Destiny behind
"I can't go back, she gave me an order, and she ranks higher than me. Unless I receive contrary orders from one of my other leaders I can't disobey her final order to keep you guys safe and since as far as I know I'm the only Cybertronian here..."
"No one can give you contrary orders, let me guess contact has to be given?"
"Yes"
"Well if she survives this I'm reminding her that I rank higher than her"
"Good luck with that if possible, in the meantime we should find a town to wait in for a little bit"
"Agreed"
Meanwhile back with Destiny she survived the attack that had the potential to kill her and noticed it was getting dark
"Well time to find a Haven, at least those four are in a mobile Haven if needed"
It would take two days but Kerenai eventually met up with Dave and contacted the group who were not happy with her but picked her up at Hunter HQ all the same and then Destiny was reminded that Noctis outranked her due to the situation she was in
"I am ordering you to never do that again, I don't care if you tell Hook to get the injured members out of the fight, that was what was needed for Iggy and Prompto, but conscious members are to stay behind from now on"
Destiny knew she couldn't fight this order and so simply submits, eventually the group manages to get to a point where Noctis felt ready to head to Altissia and so that's what they do, with Nyx in tow as well. It was during the battle that Destiny realized how they would change the prophecy, during the fight Nyx lost his weapons and Destiny knew what to do
"Ulric, catch!"
Nyx sees something heading his way and once he caught the object he realized it was the same necklace that he'd worn the night of Insomnia's fall. They reached Lunafreya and both of them knew what to do
"Arranyan shield!"
Nyx and Destiny shielded Lunafreya from Izunia's knife which allowed Ravus to attack Izunia. During the fight Destiny saw a flash and heard a voice that let her know it was time, the fact that Hook was next to her helped as well
"Nyx, if this fails tell the others...tell them I'm sorry, also you're going to want to activate a wider shield than what you've got right now, I'm dropping the shield I have on Lunafreya and the Prince"
"Right"
"Izunia!, I challenge you in place of the Prince"
"I think not"
"I think so, Shiva said that your fight is with me"
"I see, then let's do this"
And so Destiny fought the Chancellor of Nifelheim and though it was a hard battle eventually she won, but not before using the same devastating attack as before that had almost killed her the last time. Once she woke up she found out that Noctis wasn't happy with her but was glad that the prophecy was over and done with and that he and Luna were both alive
"I just wish you had been able to go home with your act"
"Same here King Noctis, but maybe someday I'll get to go home"
"Perhaps I can intervene"
"Gentiana"
"You and the family member stuck with you will be allowed to go home, to the time before you were trapped here, your memories of this place will seem like a dream, your scars from these past three years gone physically, but you will always remember in dreams, and during your dreams you will be connected to this world and keep in touch with those who you have made friends with, though the Glaive will be the easiest since he has shared your powers twice now"
And so Hook and Destiny were sent back to right after the battle where Destiny had first disappeared
"What...what just happened?"
"I don't know, but I think, I think the enemy tried to use a new weapon and it failed, come on, let's go home"
"Right"
Over the years as promised Destiny would connect with Noctis and the others while in her sleep, though it wasn't done often, and during the day she simply thought she had weird dreams from time to time. Eventually she died and Noctis and the others were informed since time passed differently in the two dimensions and Noctis held a private funeral for her though Nyx couldn't attend due to being dead himself, killed right before the funeral was held
