The carriage pulled the wicked trio away from the house and after a long moment of pin-drop silence, CinderAmity suddenly burst into tears and ran out of the house and into the backyard where she finally collapsed under an old tree, weeping her heart out. Moments later, she was joined by Ghost who tried her best to comfort her mistress.

"It's okay, Ghost. It's not your fault." She sniffled and scratched her palisman's ears. "I know you were only trying to help." She sighed in defeat as more tears streamed down her pale cheeks. "But it's no use."

"No use? That's quitter talk!" A familiar voice said.

CinderAmity and Ghost quickly shot up and looked around for the source of the voice. They paused and saw a hooded figure with an owl perched on their right shoulder approach them from the shadows. The pair backed away in fear before the figure removed their hood to reveal the face of the same woman from the night market. She had her gray hair braided and she was wearing a sleeveless red shirt, dark red leggings, and tall black boots.

"I-it's you, the woman from the market a few days ago." CinderAmity said through her tears.

"Yep. Name's Eda, by the way." The lady said as she helped the young witch to her feet. "Come on, don't be like that. Don't cry." Owlbert took out a hanky and gently dried CinderAmity's tears with it.

"But… but what are you doing here?" CinderAmity asked.

"I'm here to help you, Bossy Boots. I've been keeping an eye on you for a while, and I thought you could really use a hand, so to speak." She winked at Owlbert. "Think of me as a godmother of sorts."

"Godmother? Help me with what?"

"Getting to the Halloween Ball, duh! Don't you still wanna go?"

"Well… yeah I do, but my stepfather—"

"Ahp bap bap bap bap!" She wagged a finger. "You don't even need to say it. I already know what that monster did, but why don't we deal with him later? For now, let's focus on the task at hand. First and foremost…" She took a small bottle out of her bag; the liquid inside was lavender purple. "…we gotta do something about your hair. That green color isn't really doing you any favors." She smiled as her hook hand suddenly transformed into a pair of scissors. "But luckily for you, I have just the thing."

CinderAmity glanced at her hair, then at Eda. What does she have to lose at this point? So she agreed. Eda brushed, trimmed, and styled CinderAmity's hair like there was no tomorrow and by the time she was done, she looked like a different witch.

"So… how does it look?" She asked anxiously.

"Why don't you see for yourself?" Eda replied, holding up a mirror.

CinderAmity saw her reflection and was surprised. She had bangs and her hair was cut shorter, but the thing that really stood out was the new color. It was now lavender purple, nothing like the mint green it used to be. Her eyes lit up.

"I take it you like it?" Eda asked; she got a response in the form of a hug. "…That's a yes." They pulled apart. "Now that that's over with, we need to get you ready for that ball."

"But how? It's impossible." CinderAmity said.

"Impossible? Pfft, who says?" The Owl Lady scoffed. "Impossible things happen every day. I may have one arm and not have traditional magic, but I still have my own ways of doing things." She rummaged through her bag and took out another bottle before her right arm transformed into some kind of spraying device, like those used by gardeners to spray water or nutrients on their plants. She attached the bottle of potion to the sprayer. "No more talk, we have work to do. First of all, you'll need… a carriage."

"But I already have a palisman of my own." Ghost rubbed up against her mistress's leg.

"Are you kidding? This isn't a walk through the park or a day at the mall! No offense, but you can't show up to a huge party on just a staff! You gotta arrive at that ball in style, and I'm all about style. And the first thing I'm gonna need is…" She spotted something on the bushes near the tree. "…one of these." She walked over to it and used her foot to kick whatever it was she found out into the open. It was a large vegetable that resembled a Human Realm pumpkin, but it was a bluish green color.

"A… peacock pumpkin?" CinderAmity asked; Ghost cocked her head to the side in confusion.

Eda winked and aimed the sprayer at the bluish pumpkin. "Watch this."

With a couple of spritzes, Eda coated the pumpkin in a mist of potion. A few seconds passed and the pumpkin began to shake and mutate as if it were alive. It grew larger, hollowing itself out and growing all sorts of new features. By the time it was done, the pumpkin had become a marvelous blue and golden carriage. CinderAmity and Ghost gasped and stared in awe and shock.

"Oh my Titan…" She muttered.

Eda chuckled proudly. "Not bad, huh? Now we'll need some horsepower." She turned to her palisman. "Owlbert, if you please…"

The owl nodded and promptly flew behind the tree. He quickly returned with four white rats in his little talons and he dropped them in front of the carriage. Eda then proceeded to spray the four rodents just like she did with the pumpkin, and in an instant, they transformed into four stunning white Pegasi. Owlbert quickly harnessed them to the carriage.

"They're so beautiful." CinderAmity commented.

"Hey, don't you run away from me." Eda said as she sprayed a trio of brightly colored frogs; they were tuned into three gentlemen dressed in fine livery. Even though they were very confused about their new forms, they were directed to the carriage and positioned themselves for the young witch's departure.

CinderAmity gaped at the sight before her; she could hardly believe what she was seeing.

Eda scratched her chin in thought. "Okay, let's see. We've got a coachman, footmen, horses, carriage… Am I forgetting anything?" She paused in realization, turned to CinderAmity, and facepalmed before pointing the sprayer at her. "Well what are you waiting for? Close your eyes and spin around. Don't make me do all the work."

She was reluctant, but she did as she was told. With a determined smile, Eda sprayed CinderAmity with the last of her potion and she was lifted off the ground. Moments later, she reappeared wearing a beautiful gown in shades of purple with white accents, her hair was pulled into a little bun, and a studded silver headband was on top of her head. She slowly opened her eyes, looked down at herself, and was astonished by what she saw.

"Oh my gosh! I look incredible! Thank you, Eda! Thank you so much!" She said, hugging her godmother tight.

"You're welcome, kid. Oh! And here's a bonus." Eda replied as she presented a pair of new shoes; they were made of sparkling glass.

CinderAmity took the slippers and quickly put them on; they fit perfectly.

"You'll also need this, so Belos won't recognize you." The Owl Lady said before Owlbert placed a glittery white cast mask in the girl's hands. "Now go on." She gestured for the open carriage door. "You don't wanna be late, do you?"

CinderAmity shook her head with a smile and raced towards the waiting carriage with Ghost right behind her, but Eda stopped them.

"Hold on! Before I forget, there's still one more thing." She said. "You have to leave the ball before the clock strikes twelve."

She raised an eyebrow. "Why twelve?"

"Hey, I don't make the rules… Come to think of it, I don't have any rules." She snorted, but quickly became serious again. "But trust me, this is a biggie. The magic in this potion I used won't last forever. At the stroke of midnight, the spell will be broken and everything will turn back to what it was before. So you have to leave before then, got it?"

CinderAmity paused before nodding her head and saying, "Okay. I'll remember. Thank you again for everything, Eda."

"No problem, Bossy Boots. I don't go around doing this sort of thing for just anybody, you know." Eda winked before tying a pretty pink ribbon around Ghost's neck. The cat meowed happily as if to say thank you.

The young witch smiled and climbed into the waiting carriage before Ghost curled up on her lap, eager for a ride. Owlbert transformed himself into a staff and Eda promptly hopped on, ready to fly alongside her friend. And with that, the pumpkin carriage quickly pulled its way out of the garden and began its journey to the portal that would take them to the Human Realm. There was no doubt this was going to be a night no one will ever forget.
