AUTHOR'S NOTES, WARNINGS, AND DISCLAIMERS
This is my second novelization from my Archive of Our Own page that I originally posted on April 27, 2023. In this story, which is supposed to be based on the original Castlevania video game from 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Simon Belmont, the original game's protagonist, will be joined up by an original character named Clare Shepherd as everything from the original game remains in place. Since there really is no "plot" to the original 1986 NES classic, I decided to take up the challenge and give it a story myself while all the stages remain in order. While I never really got past the first level of the original game, I did some research online by watching videos and reading a bunch of articles.
For the record of disclaiming, I do not own Castlevania nor do I own the characters presented in the novelization of the classic 1986 video game. All I own is the original character of Clare Shepherd.
As for warnings, this story was in fact rated M because of scary and violent sequences and disturbing/suggestive themes.
I really hope you enjoy the novelization.

CHAPTER I
The year is 1691. Clare Shepherd was traveling on horseback with a few other travelers when they stopped at a dark and spooky forest. As everyone dismounted their horses, Clare and a male colleague saw something extraordinary in the distance.
"Clare…" asked the male colleague. "What is it?"
"What's what?" Clare Shepherd asked. "What are you talking about?"
"That castle." the male colleague answered. "What is it?"
"It's Dracula's Castle." Clare said to her colleague. "I studied it up in my history class that every hundred years, he is resurrected to take over the world."
"Do you know if he got resurrected?" the male colleague asked.
"You know, it's something I would not ask." Clare said. "You never might know what might happen." Then, while the two were having their conversation, someone busted into it to warn them that their leader was killed.
"God frickin' damn it!" the male colleague said.
"It was not just him." the person said. "He was killed while three others were getting abducted."
"Damn!" Clare said. "We gotta run!"
"Clare!" shouted the person. "Snap the frick out of it and just run for your life! Let's saddle up on our horses and let's just get the hell out of here before more trouble strikes!" As everyone saddled up on their horses, Clare was separated from everyone after she started to flee.
"Guess I lost everyone…" Clare thought to herself. " GOD DAMN IT! " she later yelled. Then, a man heard her cries for help after hearing the horse's sounds. That man was none other than Simon Belmont, who was quickly rushing over to give aid to Clare.
"What happened?" asked Simon Belmont to Clare Shepherd.
"My scout leader was killed, and three other scouts were abducted, sir!" Clare explained. "Guess I lost everyone I knew."
"Who are you?" asked Simon.
"My name's Clare Shepherd, and I am a part of an unnamed group of scouts who scavenge areas searching for historic artifacts and sites." Clare said as she introduced herself.
"What were you doing before all of this stuff happened?" Simon asked Clare.
"A colleague and I were just studying this castle from a far off distance, and all of the sudden, the leader of the scouts was killed and three other members of the scouts were abducted." Clare responded.
"I see…" Simon said. "Sadly, I just got here, so I really don't know who these people are. But I'll tell you what. I'll help you. Chances are, they could be inside that castle."
"But I am a weakling! I have no weapons other than an iron sword and an iron dagger." Clare stated.
"Clare, from what I know, there's several sources inside this castle. Come with me." Simon said. "Oh, I guess I should properly introduce myself to you. My name's Simon Belmont, a descendant of a lineage of vampire hunters from the Belmont family line destined to fight Count Dracula and his many darknesses invading Castlevania. I'm telling you, Clare, you'll be fine with me."
"You are sure… right Simon?" asked Clare.
"Yes, I am sure." responded Simon. "Come on. Let's go." Simon and Clare later entered Dracula's Castle. The adventure was just about to begin.
