1. Foreword

To those who have not read this work before:

Hi! Welcome to the world of Jak and Daxter: Legacy, AKA Nadoa! Before you head to chapter one, I just ask that you keep in mind these few points before you set off on the adventure. It will help illustrate what kind of story this is so that you know if it's up your alley or not.

1. TL;DR: Do you like Jak and Daxter? Are you okay with some changes to it and/or seeing what a reboot of it might look like? Do you like epic fantasy/sci-fi with mysteries intricately tied to both the characters and worldbuilding? Does the idea of a 100,000+ word story thrill you? Do you look at Naughty Dog's 2013 cancelled Jak and Daxter reboot concept art and not immediately hiss? Then this is the fic for you!

If you do not like Naughty Dog's 2013 cancelled reboot concepts in the slightest and you'd prefer a canon-compliant story, then I suggest you click the back button now.

2. Just how different is this fanfiction reboot of Jak and Daxter compared to the original series? I would say on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being a faithful rewrite with no major changes, and 10 being Jak and Daxter in name only, this story is a solid 5 or 6.

3. What's the difference between Jak and Daxter: Legacy and Jak and Daxter: Legacy Remastered? The former is the original, incomplete version of this story I posted. Remastered is the version with far better editing that's actively being updated, AKA a mirror of the version I post on AO3.

4. Speaking of, I consider the "best" version of this story to be the one I post on Archive Of Our Own (AO3). It's another fanfiction repository like this one, and this story and its sequels will be under the exact same titles and under the exact same author name (StarMasher). The reason why I consider that version the "best" is because AO3 allows images. On AO3, I have both a world map and a glossary that keeps track of all the characters, settings, and concepts. It's not vital to understand the story, but if these interest you, please visit the AO3 version to enjoy these helpful materials.

5. Those who have read the existing chapters already will tell you I am a sloooowwww updater, and I unashamedly admit that. If you dislike stories that update slowly, then this likely isn't the novel for you, or at least one to shelf until it's marked complete.

Hi! Thanks for returning and giving this story another chance! My apologies if you were wondering what happened to me/the story since I last updated the original version. Long story short, AO3 was more author friendly, so I stopped updating here and continued updating there. But in general, genfic (AKA little to no romance stories) tends to do better on this site over AO3 in my experience, and posting it in multiple places is helpful for feedback purposes. So I've decided to update it on here again under the Remastered version. I would have just updated the original version here on FFnet, but I wanted to keep it as an example of writing progress from back then to now.

For those of you who have kept up on the AO3 version, this is nothing new. Just a mirror of the AO3 version with all the edits and new chapters, is all.

For those of you who did not follow this story to AO3, well... hey, here's a better-written, better-edited version of Jak and Daxter: Legacy with more recent chapters available. Hope you enjoy!
