The favor

Chapter 1

Suiryu, froze.

He peered at his mother and then to Sukuna who was smiling wickedly as he always does when things go his way. He then began to tremble with rage. "Why… why do you want to ruin one life so yours doesn't feel as miserable!?" Suiryu demanded of him. "You of all know you have NO RIGHT to be happy in ANYTHING right now, and yet… GAH I WANT TO BEAT THE UNHOLY HELL OUT OF YOUR SORRY ASS AND SLAP THE STUPID OUT OF IT!"

"Mom, you can't be serious about this. After everything…"

"The favor I asked of him to do was a rather long shot, but it worked out for us since I didn't intend nor think that Raynn would age his host. But he did, and Sukuna bided his time long enough to achieve the results I wanted, therefore I have a debt to him."

"But Yua…"

"Indeed, this I wish to know more detail to. Sukuna, why do you want Yua as a wife?" she asked curiously.

He told her the same thing, word for word that he said to Suiryu and Yuuji on the matter. He reminds her of Chusi, with the sternness and gentle nature of Mother Tooru, his two favorite people from his past before going mad. "Why would I want her?" he questioned and smiled. "As my wife, I will ensure she survives, the Tooru name lives on. As well, in order to preserve such a name, I will allow her to have more than just me as a husband. There are some sorcerers here who I would permit her being with…"

"SHUT UP!" Suiryu roared. "LIKE HELL I'LL LET THAT HAPPEN!"

"I refuse to let that happen too!" Yuuji snapped back.

But Sukuna snickered. "You… don't matter in this. What's within reason to you, isn't within reason in another. You brats ought to know me better than that," he said, but that damn, greedy grin on his face… it just made Suiryu want to punch it even more.

"I am curious, but I am also not one to merely grant a favor since the one I owe it who decrees it. Now, tell me your plan then. How will you be a good husband to Yua? What become of her children? What of Satoru Gojo?" she asked.

Sukuna, had it all figured out in his mind. So much so he took a seat on a rock before explaining everything.

"Once she forgets about Satoru Gojo, I intend on ensuring her comfort more than anything else. Every last soul who is a threat to her shall be eliminated, starting with Kenjaku. From there I will bring down jujutsu society and any who wish to bring harm to her or her young. When the threats are gone, she and I will live together, side by side. I will show and train her on everything within her power. If she bares my children, I would be happy, if she bares the children of other men, I will raise them as if they are my own. Satoru Gojo can be included in this as well, but he will not remember nor recall his past relationship with Yua."

"BLEH!" came out of Suiryu as he threw up. "Ugh, that has never happened to me before… that idea was so rancid I threw up!"

"Why are you even here?" Sukuna demanded. "This, no longer concerns you."

"Like hell it doesn't!" Yuuji snapped back. "Yua saved my life from the likes of you. Do you not think I wouldn't return the favor?"

"Calm down, both of you." Mom said gently. She peered at Sukuna oddly. "You have been thinking this over, haven't you?"

"It's all I ever could think about in isolation. What drug Kenjaku had used wore off, at the same time, he tried to bring about the binding vow we took… I didn't think he had a counter measure in case I remembered and broke the vow. But, he did. Yet, since I am bounded to Yua and the brats, it was cancelled." He explained.

"What counter measure?" Suiryu demanded of him. "This is the first I heard of it!"

Sukuna rolled all four of his eyes. "Kenjaku made certain that no matter what happened, I went insane!" he snapped back. "Think it over, knockoff! He made the first binding vow to ensure I went mad. If I hadn't don't you think destroying the one treasure I had, the one family who dared to take me in became destroyed by my hands, I would have gone mad either way!"

This… made sense.

"Despite it, that doesn't mean you can have Yua for a wife for the sake of your own sanity." Suiryu muttered. "Mom, you can't really be considering this…"

"There is a lot to think over, at the same time, I do believe I have a notion, however. I wish to see if what Sukuna said is true."

This, confused Suiryu and Yuuji. "What do you mean?" Yuuji asked.

"I'll observe him for a month, no one here will be able to speak about this nor will you be able to warn Yua. I wish for this to be a tried and true test, at the same time. I'll make you two forget so he can work unhindered."

"WHAT!" they demanded.

"Hehe…" Sukuna snickered.

"Hear me," she said sternly. "For the next month, I will watch you. If what you say is true, prove to me you will be a worthy husband to Yua. If I find your actions are valid and you do improve her quality of life. I will fulfill the favor, however, that choice is mine to make." She said.

"What happens if I fail?" he asked. "What then? Do I lose my favor from you?"

"Yes," she said bluntly. "After all, you are asking something rather drastic as well as bringing others into this despite them being unaware of your intentions. A price for a price is only fair. That, and this will ensure you will do your utmost best to tend to Yua and the children who you said you would claim as your own, those where your words were they not?" she asked.

Sukuna nodded, despite the fact he could lose his favor with mom, he is still willing to take the risk? Suiryu couldn't believe his mother would even entertain this!

"So be it then, one month, Sukuna, prove to me you are worthy to stand at Yua's side." Her hand extended, without hesitation, Sukuna shook it.

Then, Suiryu remembered a blinding light that came over him…

#

"Suiryu?!"

"Huh?" he blinked and peered about. He was at the communal dining hall, and yet somehow… he doesn't remember getting there. "Weird, I swore I was elsewhere…"

"Yeah, lala land." Nobara muttered. "You've been spaced out for most of dinner."

He peered down and realized he barely ate. "That's not like me…"

"No kidding, eat up before it gets cold! Here, I'll take Nao."

"Where's…"

"I got her big brother!" He peered over and saw T1 with Chiyo. "I've already eaten, so I'll help with the little ones!"

That… was helpful, but… why doesn't this feel right?
