The first half of the car ride was silent as I stared out the window. I was grateful that Inko didn't try to talk much as I attempted to wrap my head around what had happened and where I was going. However, as the silence grew heavy I figured I should try talking to her. "So Mrs. Midoriya. How are we related?"

She looked over at me seeming happy yet slightly surprised I was the one to initiate conversation, "Well I happen to have been your moms very distant cousin. We didn't know that though since our grandparents grew distant and cut all relations with each other so I was surprised to find out that your mom had died and I was you only relative left." I watched her face drop slightly, "sorry that was insensitive of me I wont bring up your mom again. And please call me Inko."

I shook my head slightly, "ok and its fine I'd rather we do talk about her. She always said that when we talk about the people we lost they stay with us rather then if we don't talk about them and they end up forgotten."

She smiled at me before turning her attention back to the road ahead, "She sounds like she was very wise then."

"She was."

I fidgeted with the hem of my sweater as I stood in front of the door of the Midoriya's apartment. Taking a deap breath I prepared to meet my cousin for the first time. Oh god what if he doesn't like me? What if he's a bully?! Inko smiled at me reassuringly as she unlocked the door.

As the door opened I caught sight of a small boy who looked my age with messy green hair. As he noticed the door opening he dropped his All Might action figure and ran towards Inko. He hugged her hard and laughed happily, I watched the scene between mother and son with a slight ache filling me knowing I would never be able to hug my mom happily like that again. As the boy disentangled himself from the hug he noticed me standing just outside the door and ran over to me. Sticking out his hand he introduced himself, "Hi I'm Midoriya Izuku! Its nice to meet you!"

Shaking his hand hesitantly I introduced myself in return, "I-I'm Megumi E-Etsuko. Its n-nice to meet you too." I said shyly.

Smiling at me he suddenly engulfed me in a warm hug. Sinking into him I hugged him back. There was the same feeling with him as there was with Shoto. Like I have met this person before and just can't remember. It made me want to instantly trust him like I knew I could rely on him. And it made me want to be friends with Izuku the same way it had with Shoto.

Pulling away and shaking out of my daze I saw Inko smiling at us two happy that we would get along. "Izuku this is your cousin. She is going to be living with us from now on."

Izuku looked up excitedly, "like a sibling!"

"yes like a sibling," Inko answered laughing at his excited demeanor. "Alright now we should go get her bags so Etsuko can get settled in."

Hi there readers! I am back from the dead and appologize profusely. I really meant to update sooner but ended up really busy and then ran into a dumb writers block and wasn't sure how to continue the story until now so yeah. I hope you enjoyed the lastest chapter and I promise we will now start to get going on the actually canon timeline soon until then these were kinda filler chapters to get the story going and establish the relationships i wanted and it will be a slightly similar thing next chapter.

Ok so I figured I should probably include some facts here about Etsuko Megumi that I am not sure how to thread into the story:

She was raised by her mom who had a mind reading quirk that also allowed her to speak to others within a certain vicinity in their mind as well. Etsuko got this quirk from her as well she got her Dark Tentacle quirk from her dad who at the time is unknown but will be revealed later in the story. If you need an idea of how it looks just think of Kaniki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul and that's basically what Dark Tentacle looks like and functions.

Grew up as childhood friends with Shoto and this was all before the huge incident with his mom and all

Thought of Endeavor as a father figure (I know that is probably bad but hear me out) because he was the only consistent male figure in her life and he treated her as his own kid while training her with Shoto

She is now living with the Midoriya's

if there is anything else unclear that i should have included please leave a comment and I will include it next chapter.
