~Ten months before U.A. entrance exams~
*3rd POV*
The students bustled about in the classroom talking excitedly about entrance exams and where they planned to go. The teacher entered the room and set papers down onto his desk, "Alright class settle down now, we are going to talk about your career plans and where you plan to go for high school, I know all of you probably want to go to U.A.-"
The teacher was forced to stop because of the collective shout of "Yeah!" that came from each student.
Grunting in displeasure he continued, "HOWEVER, lets think rationally most of you will probably not get in and therefore should plan for a backup plan. Now looking at the list it seems that Bakugo, Midoriya, and Megumi are all planning on going to U.A.-"
"WHAT!" shouted Bakugo as he blasted from his seat and got up in Midoriya's face creating small explosions next to his face, "You really think a quirkless deku like you could get into U.A. dumbass!"
"We-ll they l-ifted the ba-n on allowing quir-kless pe-ople to parti-cipate in the exams-"
"tsk like they'd accept a quirkless nobody like you anyway! None of you extras even have a chance!"
*Etsuko POV*
I sighed at Katsuki's declaration and sank into my seat before the teacher spoke up, "Bakugo no quirk use in the classroom you know this." So with a huff Bakugo returned to his seat and the day progressed as normal.
~After school~
I grabbed my bag and headed for the classroom door to go wait for the two boy I normally walked home with but stopped when I heard the sound of a struggle, not again Suki.
I turned to see Bakugo holding Midoriya's shirt while threatening before tossing his notebook out the window into the pond outside. "Katsuki stop!"
He stopped at the abnormally use of his full name rather then the nickname I normally used. Releasing Izuku he stomped over to me, "What Suko!?"
"Come on we were going to go to the park today right?"
"hmph"
"Thats what I thought now come on and leave Izu alone or I will leave you here and just go home."
"Fine lets go dumbass!"
Smiling back at Izu apologetically I followed Bakugo out of the room as he stomped around in a huff.
"Suki wait up!" I yelled running after the hothead.
"Its not my fault your a slowpoke!"
With a huff I walked by his side along the sidewalk in companionable silence.
"So you still plan to go to U.A. with me right Suko?"
"Of course I am Suki. Can't leave my hot head on his own to wreak havoc on the entire school after all," I teased reaching out and ruffling his hair.
"The fuck you mean!" pushing the strands that fell in his face cause of me he grunted and started walking faster.
"Hey come on you know I was just joking silly," I called out laughing as I chased after him for the second time.
Author Note: I'm sorry I don't know what else to put so imma just skip forward to the entrance exam (yes I know that's an entire ten months) an I know I do too many time skips I will try to do better in the future T-T anyway back to the story-
I awoke to the sound of my alarm blaring as the sun barely cleared the horizon.
Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I stumbled to dress and get out the door as I prepared for the day. After all it was entrance exam day and what better way to wake up and get going than a jog all the wake there. And so the day began.
As the gates to UA came into sight I heard the all to familiar stomping and explosions of a certain blonde.
"The fuck you think your doing dumbass! think you can beat me!"
And with that the explosions got louder and I sprinted for the entrance smiling at the normal rivalry between us two.
Crossing the gate a second before Katsuki I turned with a smirk and stuck my tongue out.
"You only beat me because you had a headstart dumbass," he huffed as he slowed to match my pace.
"Yeah sure keep telling you self that Suki," I grinned cheekily.
And with that we went on our way.
~Another time skip cause I'm good at those
As we settled into our seats Present Mic began explaining how the exam would work.
"All right, all right you examinee listeners! Can I get a 'HEY'!" he held out the Mic to the audience but was met with silence.
"omg its the sound hero Present Mic!" You heard Izuku fanboy beside you.
"Ok not a very enthusiastic crowd," Mic sighed disappointedly.
"All right then I'll cut right to the chase. The exam will be a mock battle in an urban setting and you will all be broken up into separate groups. In these mock battles you will be fighting faux villains. Everybody got that so far?" He looked over the crowd before continuing.
"There will be three types of faux villains that are shown on the handouts you all received. You will have ten minutes to try and take out as many of these villains as possible in order to get points. The first is worth 1 point, the second worth 5 points, and the third worth 10 points-"
"EXUSE ME! ON THE HANDOUT IT SAYS THERE ARE FOUR TYPES OF VILLAINS. IF THIS IS AN ERROR IT IS UNBECOMING OF THE TOP SCHOOL OF JAPAN!" Somebody shouted from up closer to the stage before turning around to look at where me, Izuku, and Katsuki were sitting. "AND YOU, THE BOY WITH THE CURLY HAIR! YOU'VE BEEN MUMBLING THIS WHOLE TIME! IF YOU ARE JUST HERE FOR FUN IT IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND DISRUPTIVE TO EVERYONE ELSE HERE!"
Izuku turned bright red and sank into his seat as he snapped out of it.
"Thank you examinee number 7111! Yes there is a fourth type of villain however they are worth zero points and are just there to serve as an obstacle!" Present Mic explained.
"I see. Then I apologize for my disruption!" The glasses boy said before sitting down.
"All right now that that's cleared up! If you all look at the handouts you've been given they each say the arena you will be in."
I looked down at my handout and sure enough it said I was in battle ground C.
"Hey, even though our numbers line up we're each in different battle ground," Izuku stated. Looking over at his and then Katsuki's it turned out he was right. Even though our numbers lined up Izuku was in A, Katsuki was in B, and I was in C.
"All right then! Now that that's done its time to get started! But first lets here our school motto for good luck! Lets go Plus Ultra!" Present Mic exclaimed, expecting to here the crowd join in but was met with silence for yet the second time. Honestly I felt bad for the guy.
"Ok, ok never mind that just go," Mic sighed disheartened at the lack of enthusiasm from everyone.
As everyone left to go to their assigned arena I waved to Izuku and Katsuki before boarding a bus labeled 'C' which I assumed meant it would take us to arena C. Sitting down in the back I glanced over at the girl next to me. Was she shaking from excitement or nervousness? I couldn't tell.
"Isn't this exciting!" The girl said to me. Her body bouncing up and down as she grinned.
"Yeah but I'm a bit nervous too."
"Me too but I'm more excited!" I shook my head at the girls enthusiast chatter as she kept talking animatedly about, well, honestly I don't know what she was saying. She talked way to fast that eventually the words started blending together.
"Sorry am I talking to much?" The girl asked as if sensing my confusion.
"No its fine its just your talking to fast," I assured her. As her face returned to her bubbly smile I finally noticed her pink hair, skin, and small yellow horns.
"I'm Mina Ashido by the way! Nice to meet you!"
"Etsuko Megumi. Likewise."
As the bus stopped and we all proceeded to the entrance gate Mina and I split our separate ways.
"Good luck Megumi-chan!" Mina said as she jogged away.
"Good luck to you too Mina-chan!" I called after her.
And so. As we stood at the gate waiting for the signal to start I shook out my hands and prepared to take off at a moments notice.
I noticed a figure with black hair standing on the top of the gate right before hearing Present Mic shout "START!" as the gates opened. And so the exam began.
I burst out into a sprint and began searching for the first robots. Running down the different streets I began to enter the center of the arena when I finally saw the first ones. Two five pointers and a ten pointer. Activating my quirk, black tentacles burst from my back before piercing the heads of the robots.
That's 20.
Continuing down the street and taking down each robot I came across while also moving a few people out of the way of some robots path in order to keep them from getting crushed, I began to lose count. The last number I remembered counting was 40 and I had no way to tell how long ago that was.
I was shook from my thoughts as an earthquake like rumble went throughout the arena. Looking up I saw the 0 point robot making its way through the streets.
Jeez. I know they said it was made to be an obstacle but I didn't think it'd be that big. Where does the school even get the funding for that?
I began to turn away from the robot to find more robots that gave me points. Or at least that was until I noticed the two people surrounded by smaller robots that appeared to have not noticed the giant robot coming directly towards them.
And so I took off towards the 0 pointer as a formed a plan. In order to keep it from crushing them I would need to either get on its back and use my quirk to take out the control panel at the right time that it would fall backwards or I would need to move the two people out of the way and then take it down. Opting for the second option I ran towards the two people taking out the few robots there so they could get out.
"Hey get out of here before you get crushed!"
Running off towards the 0 pointer again I glanced back to make sure they listened to me and sure enough they were running to a safe area.
Honestly now that their gone there really isn't any reason to take out the 0 pointer but there might be more people ahead that can't get out of the way so I might as well just eliminate it now so that doesn't happen.
dashing up the leg of the robot as I used my quirk to climb, I neared the control panel. As I ripped out the cords and jumped onto the nearest rooftop the robot began to fall. Hitting the ground barely a second before a buzzer rang out through the arena.
"TIMES UP EXAMONEES!"
I sighed as I walked back towards the entrance to leave. I should have finished that faster so I could get more points. Oh well to late now.
As I got home with Izuku I went to my room, dropped my bag, and collapsed onto my bed before passing out. It had been one exhausting day and only time would tell if my work had paid off.
A/N: I would like to apologize in advance as I will not be a very consistent publisher. You could get 3 chapters within 3 hours or 1 chapter every other month. I'm really busy with school right now and once exams start I will not be publishing at all meaning that once exams begin there will be no new chapters until summer break starts.
