Chapter 6

'Huh… this… this is strange…'

Smack, Smack!

Kiyoshi gently batted the side of his head. "I told you to not say things so loud in there!" he scolded. But the odd thing was, he saw it too. He hasn't been able to see curse energy before, until now.

At first, it wasn't noticeable, but then, Kiyoshi saw flakes, almost like snow fall from the sky and on to the ground and those around him. Yet, the moment these flakes came in contact with him, they vanished! In fact, he noticed the children around him didn't notice these flake at all but, they were being absorbed by them. "What is this? Is this jujutsu?" he whispered.

"It is, and it's a rare one!"

"I said you need to ask permission to do that!" the dragon had come to the right side of his face once more, the mouth smirked as the eye in the middle of his forehead began to open.

It peered about but appeared rather impressed. "Ah, let's see now…"

"I said ASK!" Kiyoshi scolded.

"Ease up child, this is interesting… this is a Tooru jujutsu!"

Tooru? Like Auntie Yua?

"So what does it mean?" he asked.

The dragon was silent. "Not even I know at the moment, however, this is something worth looking into, for it only affects children. See, even you are absorbing this… do you feel any different?"

Kiyoshi peered down and watched a flake of jujutsu absorb into his body. He didn't feel any different and yet, there was something about this. "What is it for?"

"Only time will tell," the dragon said, but, he could feel it smile rather wickedly. He knows what it will do, but won't say anything about it!

"Huh?"

Mechamaru was at his lab as he always is… then again, despite being able to leave his lab at any time, he still finds himself shut into it, making and creating things that come to mind. Currently, he is observing the odd reaction happening within the domain, the sudden release of curse energy, and yet, it was far different than an attack or reverse jujutsu. With his scanners, he is able to do a sweep of the area and found it remarkable.

"The energy here can only be absorbed by children?" he noticed it when the children ran, they would kick up this curse energy and their bodies absorbed it. Even those with no curse energy were able to do such a thing, but… why?

"Is something wrong?" Miwa asked.

He nodded to her. "I've noticed a sudden release of jujutsu, but it's not an attack nor is it reverse jujutsu, at the same time… I don't know what to make of it. The energy is being absorbed by the children nothing more…" he said offhandedly.

But then, he remembered security footage. He has sent up little drones in various spots of the domain. One happened to have picked up on Sukuna going deep into the woods. However, the cameras that were deeper, didn't trigger. 'Does he know about those cameras?' he thought.

Miwa peered too and found it strange. "He doesn't go that deep into the forest. I don't even think Tanso does either…"

This, got his attention. "Let's so speak with him."

Miwa froze. "Sukuna?!" she asked in disbelief.

"I think we will get our answers better from Tanso."

She came along with him, leaving the lab, the two went to the forest. Tanso likes to be by the river to relax, however, Muta forgot that he isn't alone anymore. His wife was with him!

They were merely lying by the river when Muta waved to them. Tanso waved back and was quick to stand.

"Tanso, I apologize for bothering you, but, can I ask you something?" Muta questioned.

Of course he nodded. 'Is this about that energy release?' became etched on his flesh.

"Partly, but, there is a section deep in the domain here, I have set up cameras but they didn't work. I was wondering…"

'The Northwest part is forbidden' came on his skin once more. 'None of my familiars dare travel beyond a certain point. They feel repelled and as do I, I don't go there myself either,'

"Repelled you say?"

He nodded.

"It's what the Toorus left behind. Not just anyone can obtain it." Came out of Tanso's wife Melusine. "They have a barrier on that portion of the domain up, perhaps hiding something or preserving it for a later use." She explained.

Which may explain why Sukuna went there, he knew of it, but… if that's the case, what was released?

"This jujutsu is not an attack, nor is it to harm, it is a slow release though, and so nothing drastic happens too quickly." She explained.

'You know what it was?' Tanso asked of her.

She shook her head. "All I know is that this is a very old technique." She said. "And it was a Tooru's technique."

Muta paused oddly. "How come some techniques I have heard of… I never knew until now and it's from a Tooru no less!" he asked aloud.

Melusine smiled to the question. "It's not normal by human standards isn't it? At the same time, that's just how the family was. Sukuna even spoke of this and my mother already told my sisters and I this little tidbit as well. But no two Toorus had the same technique. And some possessed impossible ones that are not seen let alone known. In fact, I heard a rumor of one, called soul manipulation."

This took him aback. "Isn't that transfiguration?"

She shook her head. "Consider this, a technique is engrained on to a sorcerer's soul correct? Both the inherited and innate technique are marked into the soul of the sorcerer, however this one Tooru… they were able to remove it."

Muta froze, so did Miwa.

"They could remove their ability?" he asked in a surprised and yet… suspicious tone.

"Not only that, when the technique is removed, their body altered to obtain heavenly restrictions, until they put the curse energy and technique back into their bodies that was the method they used to fight. However, when they fought using their curse technique, if they land a physical strike against their victim, they can absorb their abilities and then… use it for themselves."

"That's… impossible!" Muta protested.

"That's how the soul manipulator worked." She said bluntly. "The Toorus were well known for pushing the boundaries of their abilities, as well, they worked hard to develop them and polish it to perfection." She explained. "However, that's what made the council fear them too, knowing this. And in the era that they raised Sukuna… how much stronger do you think they became?"

This… was startling.

The Toorus don't even sound 'human' at this point.

"But what just happened…"

"That was a stored technique. No doubt the soul manipulator and the other Tooru whose method this is from worked together to make this…" she said offhandedly.

Muta turned to Tanso so smiled rather proudly.

'My wife is very brilliant, isn't she?'

"You know just what to say, Tanso" Melusine laughed.

"Uh… should we be worried about this?" Miwa asked aloud.

The thing was, Melusine didn't know. Since this is an old jujutsu she isn't good at analyzing it. She only knows part of its history.

Muta has suspected that the only one who many know about this, is the King of Curses himself…
