The god & his Hunt
Holy is the land which yonder lies near the world of gods
A curse wrought havoc on the land of the midnight sun
a place where darkness was never in sight
The earth opened up and unleashed its nightmarish hell
No one was safe from the horrors in the hour of twilight
Hellish creatures pillaged in a wild rage, a barely contained hunt
They fell upon the town like thieves in the night
Why, indeed, should one fear the night?
Deliverance from such terrors laid with the sun
But if the light should never come, all that's left is to hunt
The end is near but never in sight
An endless tunnel envisioned in twilight
It's unconquerable, this all-encompassing hell
All depraved souls are supposed to go to hell
but what of those that are swept up by the phantoms of the night?
Do they transform by the pull of the moon during twilight?
Do they return to their former state with the coming of the sun?
This malady, a complete and condemning sight
Those damned souls are cursed forever to the wild hunt
Perhaps there was a cure to the hunt
once upon a time from the pits of hell
To be found by those without their sight
To be used by those who fell to the night
Perhaps it was possible to once again see the sun
But the accursed still fought to keep the twilight
Of course to prolong such a twilight,
an unholy sacrifice must be made to the god of the wild hunt
A deal brokered to forever do away with the sun,
a divine move to beat back the gates of hell
A gift given in supplication to lengthen the everlasting night,
but to give in would truly be an egregious sight
Blessed are those who can live without their sight,
for they will never have to witness an eternity of twilight
That is all there is now in this endless night
A myriad of horrors delivered to this land by the hunt
a place overrun by those who ruled in the deepest pits of hell
there would be no place here for the light of the sun
To serve the twilight is to serve the wild hunt
To keep thy sight, one must bond with hell
For an endless night has fallen in the land of the midnight sun
