Later that night, Deku sat at the dinner table, absentmindedly staring at his food. "Deku… Deku!" He snapped out of his thoughts violently. "Are you okay? Should I be worried?"

"Oh! Sorry mom, it's fine!" He quickly finished his food before going to the couch and continuing his thoughts. 'I barely passed the written exam, and with the 0 I got in the mock battle… And I still haven't been able to get in contact with All Might.'

'He saw potential in me… he spent so much time and dedication training me… and I failed.' His thoughts were interrupted by his mom bursting into the room. "Deku! The letter! Your results are here!" He grabbed the envelope and made his way to his room. He already knew what his results were, so he figured he'd get it out of the way. He tore the letter open.

"Haha, I am here! But as a projection!" Deku jumped back in shock, this was a UA letter, right? Why was All Might in it? "I know I haven't seen you in a while, but with great power comes a lot of paperwork! My apologies! You see, I'm not just in the city to fight villains! I am now a teacher at UA High!" After a short off-screen interruption, All Might returned back to the projection area with a greater sense of urgency.

"You passed the written test, yes, but you unfortunately didn't get a single combat point in the practical exam." Deku felt the tension he'd built up over the past few hours release. It didn't feel good.

"Luckily, there were more factors to the practical exam than just the combat points. But first, another surprise!" He turned and played a clip of the girl Deku had saved, Ochaco Uraraka, walking into the office of Present Mic.

"Hey, do you remember the boy with the messy green hair and the freckles? It's hard to describe his face, but he's a little plain looking. Doesn't really stand out? So, I was wondering, would it be possible for me to give him some of the points I got? He said something about wanting to get just one point, but that's crazy! He took down that massive villain all on his own, and he didn't even get a single point! If he didn't stop to save me, he would've gotten more points! He's the one who saved me, can't you give him my points or something?"

All Might paused the video and turned back to the camera. "It's true, yes, you do have a Quirk now. But the thing that made you stand out today was not that, but your actions. The practical exam wasn't just graded on combat abilities."

The video continued. "Thanks for showing up, but there's no need to worry about him. He's going to do fine." The video paused again.

"How could we possibly reject someone who put everything on the line to save someone else? That is the very definition of a hero. We have a system of rescue points, decided by a team of judges. Izuku Midoriya, you managed a grand 60 Rescue Points! And Ochaco Uraraka, for her offer to give you her points, got 45! You both passed with flying colours!"

Deku sat, breathless. He'd made it? He hadn't managed a single combat point, and yet he'd passed? "Izuku Midoriya, welcome to UA High!"
