Chapter One
Oceankit and Birdkit followed after their mother through a crowd of cats, Oceankit paws itched with nervousness in her paws she and her sister Birdpaw was becoming apprentices at last.
Oceankit scanned the camp clearing seeing her clanmates looking at her with bright eyes, ducking her head as she kept close to Swallowheart her sister Birdpaw bounced around their mother's paws, not minding the stares they were getting from the cats.
" I wonder who our mentors will be." Birdkit meowed as Swallowheart stopped in front of the high ledge where their leader Tigerstar stood, looking down at the two kits, Oceankit's ears twitched nervously.
But she thought about her sister's reply, sitting down beside her mother, she saw their father Owlwing pad over to sit with them pride showed his eyes she perked up once she felt him gently nudge her" I can't wait for you to start your apprentice training." he purred Birdkit had to keep herself from bouncing around their parent's paws.
" I hope I won't be able to mess it up." Oceankit meowed, and she hope that she gets a kind mentor her eyes landed on a few cats that she thought she didnt mind being her mentors.
If it was her choice as to who her mentor will be she'll either pick Blazefire, Sunbeam, and maybe Dovewing she heard stories about the gray she-cat and she was nice and patent. She looked at the older cats she figure the only cat she wouldn't mind will be Tawnypelt.
Tigerstar meow has broken her out of her thought" Cats of ShadowcClan, we are gathered here today for one of the important of Clan life. We have two kits that have reached Six moons and are ready for their apprenticeship to start." he began looking down at the two kits.
Tigerstar looked at Birdkit, who eyes shone with excitement her tail twitching happily.
" you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Birdpaw. Your mentor will be Me. And I will show you everything that I know." he meowed and then he turned his gaze on Ocreankit who looked less excited.
" From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Oceanpaw. Your mentor will he Dovewing, and she will show you everything she knows." Tigerstar finished jumping down to touch noses with Birdpaw.
Oceanpaw watched as the clan leader touched noses with Birdpaw who was ready to burst out in joy especially when the leader was her mentor. Oceanpaw jumped a little when she felt a nose touch her ear she turned to see Dovewing standing beside her and pressed her nose to her.
hearing a small purr out of the gray she-cat " Youll do just fine, dont be too nervous." she meowed gently, Oceanpaw nodded she was thankful she didnt get Tigerstar as her mentor he seemed to be scary but yet gently in his own way. Oceanpaw preferred Dovewing as her mentor.
seeing Owlwing and Swallowheart padding away, she turned her gaze to her mentor" Now what?" she asked looking at her mentor.
" I'll show you the territory for today and then tomorrow we can do some hunting practice." Dovewing meowed as she looked around and back to Oceanpaw" We can go with Tigerstar and Birdpaw if you'd like." she meowed, Oceanpaw looked to see her sister and the clan leader already heading out of the camp.
Thinking about it she shook her head " No, it's alright I rather see it with just the two of us, better then being crowed." Dovewing nodded understanding and lead the way out of the camp.
Oceanpaw followed after her mentor hearing Jadestorm kits meow behind her " Bye, Oceanpaw." Flykit meowed.
Oceanpaw sniffed the air her ears twitched as she scent a whole different scents that she wasnt use to" Where are we going first?" she asked padding close to Dovewing she wanted to make sure she didn't get lost.
Oceanpaw followed after her mentor she watched as a vole ran in front of them but Dovewing didn't seem to care" Well go to the border where we share with ThunderClan first, it's closer, and then we will check SkyClan's border!" the pale gray she-cat meowed.
