"Emily and I are the only ones with black hair, and it wasn't either of us. Who else is idiotic enough to travel up here?!" Christen ranted to her teammates on the way back to camp.
"Maybe Gracie's mistaken, and it's just some animal we don't know about yet. Does anybody know what animals Neo-Queen Serenity has allowed to breed on the moon?" Star urged everyone to rationalize this as she is.
"I'm sure Neo-Queen Serenity wouldn't let breeding get THAT out of control." Alexis squeaked.
"Regardless, animal hair feels fine and silky. This feels the opposite." Jewel examined the hair herself. But she could not imagine where it might have come from either. Also, the girls agreed not to use magic on it in case something negative happened.
"Should we ask our parents what to do?" Emily questioned. Her dark features were hard to read. Yet she had a worried hint in her violet eyes.
"Do that, and we can kiss this camping trip goodbye!" Christen yelled.
"So, we just don't tell them anything?" Trisha was NOT OK with that this time.
Christen just nodded. Everyone wanted to argue, yet they did not want to ruin this camping trip. Plus, they felt like they needed to be thinking more clearly. Therefore, it was decided to reflect after breakfast.
"I'm glad Mom saw fruit trees grow in the woods." Chibiusa munched on the sweeter selection of fruits.
"It does make this outdoorsy stuff a bit more enjoyable." Chibiusa's redheaded half-sister preferred fruit in juice. Yet there were other options here.
So, Jewel mixed a plate and made sweet choices. When everyone had eaten their fill, Neo-Queen Serenity stood up to speak, "I am pleased you girls took the first steps to wilderness survival: fire, shelter, and food. I know you would prefer the RV, so I'll tell you the conditions you can use it in. Bad weather, in which you can't start a fire or sleep adequately bathroom breaks, and other hygiene routines such as bathing and protection from predators. Understood?"
"Yes, Neo-Queen Serenity." All the girls replied in unison.
"Looks like we don't have to worry about Bigfoot/Sasquatch then." Shadow joked.
"Of course...because Bigfoot/Sasquatch isn't real." Dawn laughed.
"Even if it doesn't exist, we will still be safe if the RV flips?" Gracie worried about tornados.
"It would take a lot of force to crush through the top of It, so we should be safe." Endymion mused over what he had heard before they considered which RV to rent.
Every day the girls got up early, foraged, fished, hunted, and maintained the campsite grounds. However, the girls felt guilty about not telling their parents about the hair, worse about not telling the king and queen. Despite the girl's attempts to hide their discovery, the cats could not be fooled as easily.
"We shouldn't reveal any of l's secrets if they're not ready to tell us themselves." Artemis tried to reason with his wife.
"Artemis, keeping secrets didn't end well for Usagi and the Senshi! Therefore, it won't help Chibiusa's team either!" Luna scolded.
"Maybe they're afraid..." Diana piped up.
"Complaining about a clump of hair does sound rather silly." Luna and Artemis's snow-white son with black tips on his ears, tail, and feet, Asteroid laughed a little at the idea.
Luna and Artemis's eldest, a female of Asteriod's colors inverted, Comet nodded, agreeing with her younger siblings' opinion. Meowing sounded behind them, and they turned to see Jewel's indigo-furred kitten, Elizabeth, and "toy," Selina. As usual, Selina had to translate for Elizabeth.
"I agree with Artemis and your kittens." Elizabeth's mature (for her age) and decided voice came clear through Selina.
Luna had to give up on her attempts of trying to convince six other animals to see things her way. So, the girl's secret is safe for now. However, that night, Trisha and Setsuna awoke to something rummaging through their campsite! Quiet as the two soldiers typically are, they crawled from one tent to the next, silently rousing the others. Though it was difficult to see in the dark, they spotted what appeared to be a gorilla eating most of the food the girls had gathered!
Between staying put out with this burly beast or finding sturdier refuge, the group booked it to the RV! Sadly, this creature noticed them and, letting out a horrifying roar, ran at them, but not like any gorilla they had seen run before; it made long and powerful strides on huge, hairy, human-like legs, and the ground shook and crumbled as it ran!
"Heart Chain Constrict!" Gracie halted the animal for a minute, but it broke free quickly!
"Mist Spray!" Luckily, this gave some girls time to pile into the van. But as the monster could not see clearly. It instantly became enraged. Then it charged where it had last seen them!
"Phoneix Strike!" Christen had enough. She was trying to be more respectful, but this trip would be challenging! Thankfully, this registered with the brute on what he had got himself into.
"Electric Dragon!" Ariel called as she wanted to get her aggravation across too.
Holly did not want to tear up the ground more than it already was, and Alexis was too paralyzed with terror to attack. On the other hand, Emily and Trisha were ready. However, they did not need to attack because backup had arrived.
"That's not a gorilla!" Luna cried loudly. She and the cats jumped down to claw away at the bully, so the group could finish loading up.
Once safely inside the RV...
"What's wrong?!" Neo-Queen Serenity asked the group as she noticed their alarmed states.
"My queen, a gorilla was eating the fish. We tried to sneak past quietly, but-" Setsuna began to try and explain.
"There are no gorillas out here." King Endymion gave her a perplexed look.
"We know what we saw!" Holly argued, clearly overwhelmed, so she was not punished for not addressing the royals properly.
"Please, can we sleep in here tonight?!" Alexis pleaded, her whole body shaking from fear.
"Don't fret so, Alexis. Of course, you can." Neo-Queen Serenity could never bare to see Alexis cry.
To everyone's relief, the cats slipped back into the RV after successfully driving off the intruder. But they either could not comprehend what they saw or were banged up. The girls took them into their arms as no one would get much sleep tonight anyway.
